Noted scientist Sanjay Burman has assumed charge as Director of Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR), an establishment under DRDO.

He succeeds V S Mahalingam, who has superannuated.

He joined DRDO in 1986 and served in Electronics & Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) till 2000, and thereafter in Bangalore-based CAIR, according to a DRDO statement.
