Oklahoma Doctors vs. Obamacare – Video

Oklahoma Doctors vs. Obamacare
Three years ago, Dr. Keith Smith, co-founder and managing partner of the Surgery Center of Oklahoma, took an initiative that would only be considered radical in the health care industry: He posted online a list of prices for 112 common surgical procedures. The 51-year-old Smith, a self-described libertarian, and his business partner, Dr. Steve Lantier, founded the Surgery Center 15 years ago, after they became disillusioned with the way patients were treated at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, where the two men worked as anesthesiologists. In 1997, Smith and Lantier bought the shell of a former surgical center with the aim of creating a for-profit facility that could deliver first-rate care at a fraction of what traditional hospitals charge. The major cause of exploding US heath care costs is the third-party payer system, a text-book concept in which A buys goods or services from B that are paid for by C. Because private insurance companies or the government generally pick up most of the tab for medical services, patients don #39;t have the normal incentive to seek out value. The Surgery Center #39;s consumer-driven model could become increasingly common as Americans look for alternatives to the traditional health care market mdash;an unintended consequence of Obamacare. Patients may have no choice but to look outside the traditional health care industry in the face of higher costs and reduced access to doctors and hospitals. Ron Paul’s Farewell Speech To Congress – Video

Ron Paul #39;s Farewell Speech To Congress
Ron Paul Departs With #39;Our Constitution Has Failed #39; Rep. Ron Paul, the iconic libertarian congressman from Texas, has delivered what will most likely be his final address to Congress. In a sprawling, 52-minute speech to the House chamber, Paul lambasted US government, politicians and special interests, declaring that the US people must return to virtue before the government allows them to be free, and that the Constitution has failed to limit the scope of an authoritarian bureaucracy. "Our Constitution, which was intended to limit government power and abuse, has failed," Paul said. "The Founders warned that a free society depends on a virtuous and moral people. The current crisis reflects that their concerns were justified." For the retiring Republican, 77, the "current crisis" isn #39;t quite what it is for other members of Congress, who routinely use that word to describe the economic recession that followed the 2008 financial crash. To the Texas Republican, that #39;s part of it, but the causes are deeper, and it #39;s also a crisis of governmental authoritarianism and the vanishing of personal liberty. "If it #39;s not accepted that big government, fiat money, ignoring liberty, central economic planning, welfarism, and warfarism caused our crisis, we can expect a continuous and dangerous march toward corporatism and even fascism with even more loss of our liberties," said Paul, an obstetrician-gynecologist by training. The problem isn #39;t just government #39;s size, but its use of force ...From:above scienceViews:39 4ratingsTime:48:47More inPeople Blogs

RUSH 2012 – Video

RUSH 2012
2012 election is past, and the end of the world didn #39;t come. This goes to my old friends that I #39;ve worked with over my 30 year political career in the Libertarian Party from which I must retire. I can #39;t go with you any further. In my view, the only "cult of the omnipotent state" is the LNC. I do not believe in hell, and I will not condemn humanity as immoral "statists". Neither will I laud their prophets, from Bastiat to Rothbard. I am done with it. People want civil protection.. not just from "invading armies", but from fires, and floods, and fucking brimestone from the sky. They want a system of transportation, they want water, sewer and electricity, they want I-phones and entertainment. IE infrastructure. People also want education, pensions and medical care. A job that doesn #39;t suck would be nice too. What do we have to do to accomplish this? I mean, we #39;re the human fucking race, don #39;t you think we can figure this out? Well, I #39;m working on it here in my little life in the middle of nowhere, and I know that many others are too, in their own way. Life is art (or something like that). Express yourself. Peacefully please, and with some degree of empathy, something Ayn Rand has ripped from too many souls. From:Vern EtzelViews:1 0ratingsTime:02:42More inNews Politics

Episode #271 - Secessionist Movement Is Being Co-Opted
Full Episode Article: ThePeteSantilliShow.com Please Visit Our Primary Sponsors Law Offices of Craig Zimmerman ow.ly Elixir Flavored Liquid Nicotine Electronic Cigarettes ow.ly On this episode of The Pete Santilli Show: Pete has a heart-to-heart discussion with his listeners about the extremely high potential for the secessionist movement to be co-opted in the same manner as the Tea Party, the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign, and the commercial interests of internet opportunists like Alex Jones. Pete clearly draws the line between opportunists like Jones; who increase their wealth on the continuance of a docile, non-resistant, fearful population, and veterans/active duty military who understand the importance of immediately shutting down the destructive forces of communism. Santilli also describes the money making machine operated by Ron Paul which employs almost 60 members of his family. A machine which has exploited the liberty movement several times, only to let their millions of supporters down in the end. Additionally, Pete, Susanne Posel and Susannah Cole discuss the connection between Ron Paul, the Libertarian Party, and billionaire Bilderberger Peter Thiel. Although Ron Paul has reached millions in the liberty movement, since it has indisputably been propelled with the help and special interests of a known globalist, the Ron Paul phenomena has been tainted. Watch Ron Paul’s Farewell Address! – Video

Watch Ron Paul #39;s Farewell Address!
On November 14, 2012, retiring Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) gave his farewell speech to Congress. In a public career that included three stints in Congress (1976-1977; 1979-1985; and 1997-present) and a run for president as the Libertarian Candidate (1988), no living elected official has done more to advance the ideals of limited government and a libertarian approach to federal government. His longshot bids for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 and 2012 radically altered the national conversation on entitlements, fiscal and monetary policy, foreign policy, and crony capitalism, and his success with online fundraising and organization has set the example that others will be following for years to come. The groups he has created, including Young Americans for Liberty and Campaign for Liberty, will continue to grow in size and influence. Paul used his final address in the House of Representatives to draw attention to growing violations of civil liberties, a chronic economic crisis brought on out-of-control government spending and debt, the ease with which the country goes to (undeclared) war, and the immoral willingness to use violence to achieve desired social ends. As Paul #39;s biographer, Reason staffer Brian Doherty, noted, Ron Paul is "a true American original. No politician talks like this, and I suspect it will be a long time before another does. Ideas like this will be much harder to find in the House of Representatives with Paul gone, and we will all be the ...From:ReasonTVViews:6 0ratingsTime:48:54More inNews Politics

Libertarian candidate: ‘I wasn’t the spoiler’ in Hillsboro’s House District 30

By Kyle Markley

The race for House District 30 was expected to be close, with first-term Republican incumbent Shawn Lindsay facing Democrat challenger Joe Gallegos in a district where Democrats enjoy a 7 percent advantage in voter registration.

Both campaigns were vigorous. According to ORESTAR (the campaign finance database maintained by the secretary of state's office), the Gallegos campaign had total expenditures exceeding $600,000 and the Lindsay campaign over $500,000.

According to the current unofficial election results, this was the only Oregon House district where the winner did not earn a majority of the votes. As the Libertarian candidate in this race, I was the wild card. I received more votes (5.73%) than the margin between Gallegos (49.27%) and Lindsay (44.83%).

These results have people wondering whether I swung the race in favor of Gallegos. Did I? Probably not. To change the outcome, more than three-quarters of the people voting for me would need to have voted for Lindsay in my absence. Given the issues I campaigned on, this seems unlikely.

Libertarians are well-known for wanting to reduce government spending, which makes them attractive to people who may otherwise vote Republican. Less appreciated, however, is the Libertarian commitment to basic civil rights and freedoms that is attractive to people who may otherwise vote Democrat.

For example, one of my campaign issues was the repeal of Oregon's civil forfeiture power (ORS Chapter 131A). This power is primarily used to wage the "War on Drugs" and consequently enjoys much greater support from law-and-order anti-drug Republicans than from Democrats who see it as overreaching by law enforcement and a violation of important civil rights under the U.S. Constitution's Fourth and Fifth Amendments.

Rep. Lindsay made his support for Oregon's Enterprise Zone program a campaign issue. This program provides property tax incentives for businesses that expand in certain areas designated by state and local governments. By contrast, I campaigned in favor of legal equality, the principle that government should not create special privileges for particular groups. If tax incentives are a good idea at all, they should be uniform across the state, not a bargaining chip to entice politically favored business development in politically favored regions. To the extent Republicans support things like the Enterprise Zone program, they will not be attracted by my campaign.

My primary purpose in entering this race was to raise awareness of how far our government has moved away from its founding principles and original purpose. I wanted to push back against the growth of government influence and to fight for individual rights and freedoms. I ran a very modest campaign, funded entirely out of my own pocket. I gave only one speech and sent only one piece of direct mail advertising. Despite losing the race, I am pleased with the results.

Almost 6 percent of the voters were willing to "throw their votes away" supporting a minor party candidate in a hotly contested race. That tells me that my issues resonate strongly with the people. And that gives me hope that the Legislature will address these issues even though I am not in office.

Sumba - Municipality (Sumba / Akraberg / Vkarbyrgi / Lopra / Akrar)
Sumba Population 254 Sumba is the southernmost of the villages on Suuroy. The village lies on the west coast as the only one except from Fmjin. Sumba is said to be one of the oldest villages in the Faroe Islands. Excavations have shown traces from people from the 7th century. The church in Sumba is from 1887. Sumba lies behind high mountains and it used to be difficult to reach in wintertime when the storms raged. In 1997 a tunnel was blown through the mountains from Lopra to Sumba. This makes life easier for people in Sumba who work in Vgur. If you visit Sumba when the weather is nice you should take the road over the mountains. On the mountain in a height of 400 meters there is a high radio-mast. From there it is possible to walk the 50 meters to the west coast. From top of the bird-cliffs there is a magnificent view over the sea and rocks deep below. The cape of Beinisvord rises vertically 470 meters from the sea. It is possible to climb Beinisvord from the backside even if it is pretty steep. In 1975 part of the top fell into the sea. South of Sumba on the south-tip of the island is a place called Akraberg. In present time there is just a lighthouse in Akraberg but a Frisian colony was there from year 1040 until The Black Death killed all of them in 1350. The Frisians were heathen a long time after the rest of the Faroe Islands were christianised. It is said that they partly lived by piracy and they are mentioned in several Faeroese legends. Egypt: Cairo with the pyramids, the Western and Sinai desert with Mount Sinai and Dahab – Video

Egypt: Cairo with the pyramids, the Western and Sinai desert with Mount Sinai and Dahab
Cairo is located on the banks and islands of the Nile River in the north of Egypt. West of Giza, in the desert, are three large pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Giza. Approximately 18 km to the south of modern Cairo is the site of the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis and adjoining necropolis of Saqqara. The Western Desert covers about 700000 square kilometers (equivalent in size to Texas) and accounts for about two-thirds of Egypt #39;s land area. This immense desert to the west of the Nile spans the area from the Mediterranean Sea south to the Sudanese border. The Sinai Peninsula lies between the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the south, forming a land bridge from Africa to Southwest Asia. Its area is about 60.000 km. The Sinai is a magical and biblical desert with as highlights Mount Sinai, where Moses got the ten commands and the Saint Catherine #39;s Monastery with the chapel of the burning bush. Dahab is one of the Sinai #39;s most treasured diving destinations. From:Deva DeepViews:0 0ratingsTime:08:33More inTravel Events
