A history of beaches
Yes, I know it is a misleading title. If you were looking for a documentary on beaches, I #39;m sorry you #39;ve come to the wrong place. BUT, the video does contain a beach and a history lesson. This video was actually made 2 weeks ago but it wasn #39;t uploaded due to pressing family issues. My mother was very ill in hospital (still is, but getting better). I #39;ll post a new video of stuff that #39;s happened since then this Thursday. Hopefully, we #39;ll manage to get on a more regular schedule. xx dalz PS you can find me and Fiona on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/Dalzi http://www.twitter.com/EvilFiona

SEARCH and rescue teams will scour the northern beaches again after a 2.5-metre shark closed two popular swimming spots.
In the second brush with a shark on a NSW beach in the past three days, an off-duty Warringah Council lifeguard, Danny Sheather, was knocked off his board while surfing at Dee Why about 12.45pm on Sunday.
Mr Sheather did not see what hit him but noticed a 30-centimetre chunk out of the bottom of his board when he returned to shore.

''It looked like something had come up and rammed him from underneath,'' Steve Downman, a Warringah Council lifeguard supervisor, said. Dee Why and Long Reef beaches were immediately closed.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter soon spotted a 2.5-metre white shark at the south end of Dee Why.
Despite lifesavers' efforts it could not be moved on, so both beaches remained closed all afternoon.
''The boat attempted to shepherd the shark away from shallow water,'' Stephen Leahy, the chief executive of the helicopter service, said. ''It wasn't deterred whatsoever, which is unusual.''

A shark that took a 30-centimetre chunk out of a lifeguard's surfboard continues to roam the waters off a Sydney beach.
Dee Why and Long Reef beaches in Sydney's north remained closed on Sunday afternoon after off-duty Warringah Council lifeguard Danny Sheather was knocked off his board.
He was surfing about 100 metres off the south end of Dee Why beach about 11.50am (AEDT) on Sunday when the drama began.
"I got a wave, paddled in and got up and I was going along and felt this almighty hit from the bottom," Mr Sheather told AAP.
"And it kind of shouldered me forward off my board.
"Then I turned over and there's this big chunk out of my board."
Mr Sheather said he did not see the predator, but noticed a 30cm chunk, in the form of a semi-circle, missing from one side of his board.
He then paddled in and raised the alarm.
Dean Storey from Surf Life Saving NSW said rescue helicopters were keeping an eye on a 2.5m shark near Dee Why beach.
"As long as the shark is in the area the beaches will remain closed," Mr Storey told AAP.

TWO Sydney beaches have been closed after a possible shark attack this afternoon.
Off-duty council lifeguard Danny Sheather, 23, believes his board was hit by a shark while riding between long reef and Dee Why on the northern beaches.
Both Dee Why and Long Reef Beach were immediately closed and "shark sighted" signs erected. Lifesavers took to the water in rubber duckies to patrol the beach.
More than an hour after Mr Sheather's encounter, a large shark was spotted in the same area of the beach by helicopter crews - and the shark refused to be herded out to sea.
"The shark was about 2.5m long and was inside the breaking waves close to shore," a Westpac helicopter spokesman said.
"It was swimming in circles between two rips right where the surfer was hit by something."
"It appeared to us to be either a great white shark or a bull shark, and certainly seemed to want to stay in the same area.
"It certainly adds legitimacy to the incident being a genuine encounter with a shark."

Artificial intelligence movie trailer
I haven #39;t felt this emotionally raped by a film since "The Phantom Menace". I knew that there was something wrong with this film when I heard that Stanley Kubrick was involved, but I figured I #39;d give it a chance when seeing Speilberg #39;s name next to his. Boy was I wrong. This movie is supposed to be a futuristic fairy tale; the retelling of Pinocchio from the respective of a robot child who longs to be human and earn the respect of his adoptive mother. Bodybuilding.com Names Top Secret Nutrition “Supplement Company of the Month”
David Moyes expects Phil Neville to go on for a number of years Getty Images
Everton manager David Moyes has backed his captain Phil Neville to achieve his dream of another two or three years at the top level of English football.
Neville, who celebrates his 36th birthday next month, made his 500th Premier League appearance in the 2-1 win over Wigan on Boxing Day. His next target is to reach 700 career appearances, which he needs another 14 games to do.
The former Manchester United man demonstrated that he is still in good shape by returning from knee surgery three weeks ahead of schedule to play in the 2-1 win at West Ham last Saturday. And he is set to play a significant part when Everton host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
"The pleasing thing is that I have still got the hunger and desire to play on for two or three seasons," Neville told the Liverpool Echo on Friday. And Moyes reckons that the Everton captain could challenge his former United team-mate Ryan Giggs in the Premier League longevity stakes.
"I think he could, with the way he's looked after his body," Moyes said. "He's just returned from a knee injury, so we've got to make sure that's right. But I think overall, he's somebody who has conducted himself off the field to get that longevity.
"I think whatever happens, Phil could easily play on for two or three years, he's in really good condition."
Moyes is looking forward to renewing rivalries with former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, who will be in the opposing dug-out as Chelsea's interim manager.
"I think he always wanted to be back in the Premier League," Moyes said. "He enjoyed his stint here. I think, like a lot of people who come into the country, he enjoyed the honesty, and the way the Premier League is played. He's bided his time, Rafa, to get another job. Good on him, he's at a very good club."
Moyes, meanwhile, dismissed a report in Friday's Independent newspaper, which stated that Chelsea were considering a move for left-back Leighton Baines.
