Full Article: divinecosmos.com Video By Scott Wilhelmsen. January 13, 2013. In these excerpts David Wilcock suggests that our sun orbits a dark star. he discusses how gravity waves create cymatic-like interference patterns that control the movements of the planets like a clock or calendar, always in sync and always in time. This provides a better understanding and a breakthrough in how astrology, astronomy and gravity work. Read by Natural Reader Software.

However, in the last two decades, the discovery of nearly 1000 exoplanets have told us that we are only beginning to understand the many sizes, shapes, and kinds of worlds that exist in our galaxy. At the October Tacoma Science Caf, join UW #39;s Tyler Robinson, PhD, as we explore how we find and study these planets that orbit other suns.

Ball Aerospace Completes Performance Testing for James Webb Space Telescope Aft Optics Subsystem

BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. has completed all performance testing for NASA's James Webb Space Telescope aft-optics subsystem (AOS) under contract to the Northrop Grumman Corporation.

(Photo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20130116/LA43566)

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20130108/LA39163LOGO)

Since May of 2012, the AOS has undergone a series of tests including thermal and vibration, followed by cryogenic testing to demonstrate that it can withstand the rigorous vibration environment of the rocket launch and remain precisely aligned in order to function at extremely cold temperatures in space. The AOS will remain at Ball Aerospace to be used during integrated testing with the flight actuator drive unit and AOS source plate assembly. This AOS is the final optical subsystem of the James Webb Optical Telescope Element to complete integration and test activities at Ball Aerospace.

"Each optical element that Ball Aerospace is building for the Webb is extremely sophisticated and the successful completion of another milestone brings us one day closer to the launch of NASA's next major space observatory," said Ball Aerospace President and CEO David L. Taylor.

The AOS is a precision beryllium rectangular optical bench that houses the tertiary and the fine steering mirror installed at the center of Webb's primary mirror. The AOS is surrounded by a shroud that eliminates stray light, and two large radiator panels that keep the assembly cold. This subsystem collects and focuses the light from the secondary mirror and feeds it into the science instruments.

Ball is the principal subcontractor to Northrop Grumman for the optical technology and lightweight mirror system for NASA's Webb Telescope. In total, Ball has designed and delivered the Webb's 18 beryllium primary mirror segments, secondary and tertiary mirrors, a fine steering mirror, and several engineering development units.

In September 2012, Ball began the process of shipping the finished Webb primary mirrors to Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. The remaining mirrors will arrive at Goddard this year, awaiting telescope integration in 2015. The Webb is on track for an October 2018 liftoff.

The Webb telescope is critical for future infrared observations and will serve as the premier observatory of the next decade.

Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. supports critical missions for national agencies such as the Department of Defense, NASA, NOAA and other U.S. government and commercial entities. The company develops and manufactures spacecraft, advanced instruments and sensors, components, data exploitation systems and RF solutions for strategic, tactical and scientific applications. Bunheads Creator Defends Show's Slow Pace: "Longevity Is Important"

Bunheads creator and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino knows about the criticism surrounding the first season. In fact, she welcomes it.

"I wake up every day wanting someone to call me nihilistic and crazy," the Gilmore Girls alum jokingly told reporters at ABC's winter TV preview Thursday.

Sutton Foster and Amy Sherman-Palladino talk Bunheads return

"I'm an old, tired broad. I do my thing. I know what I am, but television has changed," said Sherman-Palladino, who added that Bunheads' slow pace was similar to her previous hit. "Gilmore Girls was three acts and a teaser. We are six acts and a teaser. The actual structure of television has changed. ... There is just now more plot pushed into shows."

Just because television has changed doesn't mean Sherman-Palladino plans to shift with it. "I've never written to act breaks. It's not my style," she said. "I want the story to unfold the way I hear it in the 20 voices in my head."

Although she noted "nobody's dying at the end of every single act," she did point to the eventual midseason finale, in which Sasha returned to class, Boo and Carl (finally) got together, and Michelle left town after accidentally spraying her dance students with mace. "I've always believed that if you burn through all of your plot in one episode, how do you get five years out of a show?" she said. "Longevity is important for someone with my Neiman's bills."

Bunheads airs Mondays at 9/8c on ABC Family.

Officials failing at biology

Sad, sad, sad that our public officials are so unaware of basic biology, health and environmental issues.

The 2012 Bioinitiative Report was just released (bioinitiative.org). Twenty-five international scientists and doctors reported on the most recent science on electromagnetic radiation, in particular, radio frequency microwaves emitted by wireless devices (Wifi, cell/cordless phones, i-anythings, baby monitors, microwave ovens, wireless smart meters) and their summary says were in deep do-do (my words, not theirs) already, and will be in deeper if we continue adding layers of radiation to our already over-saturated environment.

North America has the absolute worst (most lax) regulations worldwide, and our elected officials, who are supposed to protect public health, dont.

They fall back on Big Telecomms experts, then proclaim and maintain their ignorance by refusing to learn the safety-conscious science of unbiased (unbought) scientists.

If they want to destroy themselves, individually, go ahead; I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with their performing mass biological experiments, the kind banned at Nuremberg, on other people without informed consent.

I am informed. I do not consent.

Flunking biology class led Rebecca Skloot to moment that inspired “Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”

GRAND RAPIDS, MI Rebecca Skloot, the author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, can trace her passion to tell this story of science, race and medicine to a single moment.

She was 16, taking a biology class at a community college after flunking the class in high school. The teacher talked about HeLa cells, a line of powerful cells used for years in research, and said they came from a black woman. He wrote the womans name on the board: Henrietta Lacks.

It grabbed me for some reason, Skloot said, addressing an audience at a Calvin College January Series lecture on Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Skloot went up to the front of the auditorium after class and asked the professor what happened to Lacks, whether she had children and what they thought about the research. The teacher said no one knew much about her, but he told Skloot she could do some research and write a paper on it for extra credit.

Twenty-five years later, after earning a bachelors degree in science and a masters in creative writing and after spending a decade researching the story of Lacks and her family, Skloot sent the teacher a copy of her book manuscript.

He had no memory of me whatsoever, Skloot said with a laugh.
