REE, Gold, Copper Explorer Liberty Star Completes Archeological Study on Hay Mountain Mineral Exploration Permits …

TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Liberty Star Uranium & Metals Corp. (Liberty Star or the Company)(LBSR: OTCQB) is pleased to announce the submission of the Class III Archeological Report (the Report) to the Arizona State Land Department (ASLD). The Report fulfills the ASLD requirement to complete an archeological study of Company lands held under State Mineral Exploration Permits (MEPs) which can now be surface sampled and drilled, with discovery leading to State Mineral Leases. This report will be available on the Company web site. The Report, submitted by Jim Moses of Antigua Archeology, LLC, found no substantial archeological remains that would delay exploration of the Hay Mountain MEPs. Liberty Star also holds federal mining claims in adjacent areas over federal land. These claims do not require an archaeologic study, and have already been sampled.

The Arizona MEP process requires the submission of archeological studies in a professional archaeological report, which the state will evaluate and approve recommendations. This approval precedes all geologic field work which disturbs the surface, including geochemical studies. The Company directed Antigua to cover all possibilities for future geochemical and drilling activities, in order that the Company has the freedom to select its own priorities for such work without permitting delays. As a result, on approval, the Company may conduct sampling in increments to determine where it is most important to have a close spaced survey grid in preparation to determine final positioning of drill holes. The Report submitted today to ASLD comprised 32 potential drill sites along with 5.45 miles of associated access roads. Additional sample lines were included so that a square grid survey (at 100 meters x 100 meters) would allow the field staff to conduct further work to help more closely define the details of the anomaly which thus far has included markers for gold, copper, moly, lead and rare earth elements (4 of 17).

The 100 meter sampling grid, which if carried out within both the REE, gold, copper, moly & lead anomalies would require another 2,672 samples. Liberty Star will do further sampling in increments to determine where it is most important to have a close spaced grid in preparation to final positioning of drill holes, from a selection of the 32 permitted sites, as well as others on the federal mining claims. Because of the cost-effectiveness of doing this required archaeological study while the archeological assessment team is on site rather than a piecemeal approach, the Company ordered the additional drill and geochemical sites surveyed, as well as currently identified potential drill targets. These multiple additional permitted sites will allow Liberty Star to have more options of drill site selection during the exploratory drilling phase.

Additionally, Liberty Star has approximately two square miles of State MEPs that were acquired after the initial geochem results were plotted on maps over previously acquired land. Antigua Archaeology will complete another survey and report of the additional lands which, on approval of the ASLD, will then undergo initial geochemical sampling for 77 elements, including all 17 rare earth elements at our initial sample grid of 200 meters by 400 meters. Interpretation will determine if we will keep these MEPs and do further geochem work leading to drilling on them.

About Hay Mountain, Southeast Arizona

The Hay Mountain block of the Tombstone Super Project (Cochise County, Arizona) consists of 57 unpatented federal lode mining claims in addition to 15 Arizona State Mineral Exploration Permits (MEPs). MEPs are the first step in completing an Arizona State Land Mining Lease. The Company has completed the required assessment work to hold the MEPs. This land position covers a geologically, geophysically and geochemically indicated completely covered porphyry copper-moly-silver-gold, and rare earth elements mineral center. One major target within the Hay Mountain claim block is defined along with four other smaller targets. Liberty Star has recently discovered a large intrusion - indicated by an aerially extensive low flight level magnetic survey - under and partially exposed in and around the Tombstone caldera (NR 129). Mineralization is clearly associated with this intrusive body.

Neocon Ann Coulter Calls Libertarians ‘Pussies’

Neocon Ann Coulter Calls Libertarians #39;Pussies #39; Gets Booed By Room Full Of Students
What do you get when you invite outspoken Neo-Conservative War Hawk Ann Coulter to debate outspoken libertarian John Stossel in front of an audience of 1000+ libertarian students? Fireworks, that #39;s what. On tonight #39;s episode of Fox Business Network #39;s Stossel, Coulter got into a heated debate with Stossel and the students over a variety of social issues, in the process calling libertarians "pussies" and receiving lots of jeering for her remarks. Once a year, Stossel tapes a show at the International Students for Liberty Conference in Washington, DC He typically brings on friendly libertarian guests, like presidential candidate Gary Johnson, Reason magazine star Nick Gillespie, Cato Institute VP David Boaz, or up-and-coming Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI). But just to show that the 1400+ students are not beholden to either major political party, a liberal and a conservative will also join the show and mix things up. This year, Coulter was that conservative. And boy, did things get heated. The initial conversation between Stossel and Coulter began as a light squabble over whether the War in Iraq was truly justified. The war was certainly worth the cost because Saddam Hussein was "definitely looking for uranium from Niger," she said. Her remarks were met with tepid boos and confusion, but the room was mostly pleasant at that point. But when the subject turned the the legalizing drugs, things quickly became tense. "Libertarians and pot," Coulter said with a dismissive laugh. "This is ...

Bolton Confronts Stossel on Obama Drones, Accuses Libertarians of Defending The Confederacy
2/21/13 - John Stossel #39;s annual show from the International Students for Liberty Conference features not only the usual friendly libertarians, but a handful of liberals and conservatives who willfully engage a potentially hostile crowd of 1000+ libertarian students. As our readers are likely aware by now, Ann Coulter happened to be one of the two conservatives brought on to debate the students. And it was, shall we say, tense. The other conservative featured in the program was John Bolton, former Bush official and he of the "neocon" variety. Last year, Bolton #39;s appearance on Stossel resulted in a bit of controversy. But despite the not-so-warm reception last year, Bolton returned again to discuss why he believes a neoconservative foreign policy is best; and continue his defense of President Obama #39;s "sensible" targeted assassination program. "It doesn #39;t seem morally right to just take the word of some government officials that this guy #39;s a terrorist and send a machine to kill him, and kill civilians along with him," Stossel said to Bolton. "The commander-in-chief authority vested by the Constitution in the president gives him the direction over the war capabilities of the United States," Bolton replied. "And his efforts, both in the Bush and the Obama administration, to go after the terrorists, I think is entirely justified." "So America can kill anybody anywhere?" Stossel asked. "Of course not," Bolton shot back, "listen to what I just said." He re-asserted that the ...

Ann Coulter: "This is Why People Think Libertarians are Pussies"
Ann Coulter appeared on Fox Business Network #39;s "Stossel" to do battle with the show #39;s Libertarian host and his 1400+ Libertarian guests. The evening began pleasantly enough, the two discussing whether the US should #39;ve invaded Iraq following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Coulter believes military action was justified because Saddam Hussein was "definitely looking for uranium from Niger." But then things became a little more heated when Stossel decided to shift gears and brought up legalizing drugs. "Libertarians and pot," Coulter laughed. "This is why people think libertarians are pu**ies."

Student Grills John Bolton On Drones, Bolton Accuses Libertarians of "Defending the Confederacy" – Video

Student Grills John Bolton On Drones, Bolton Accuses Libertarians of "Defending the Confederacy"
Former UN Ambassador John Bolton appeared on John Stossel #39;s show at the International Students For Liberty Conference in Washington, DC, to defend President Obama #39;s drone program and targeted assassinations. During the Q A, Skeptical Libertarian editor and Rutgers University student Daniel Bier asked Bolton if he would want due process protection if he were targeted. Bolton retorted that the government was right to kill thousands of Americans during the Civil War without due process, and (after being jeered by the crowd) accused libertarians of "discrediting their movement" by "defending the Confederacy." In a later interview, Bier responded to Bolton #39;s statement: "It #39;s ludicrous to compare the deliberate assassination of a 16-year-old American citizen, who is not engaged in hostilities against the United States, who has never been charged with a crime, and was in a neutral country, with shooting back at Confederate soldiers on a battlefield. ... It #39;s a clever rhetorical twist to equate support for due process with support for slavery, but it #39;s a complete non-sequitur. Mr. Bolton never answered my question, and so it seems he #39;s quite comfortable with the idea of a single man deciding who lives and dies, without any restraint or judicial review. The president is commander-in-chief of the armed forces, not God." http://www.mediaite.com

Retaking the Diaoyu Islands, a New Policy by Xi-Li? – Video

Retaking the Diaoyu Islands, a New Policy by Xi-Li?
Follow us on TWITTER: twitter.com Like us on FACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com Retaking the Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands is likely one of three major new polices under the new Xi-Li administration. Reportedly, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) new leader Xi Jinping will take tough actions after taking office in March. In late March, the CCP regime may launch an offensive against Japan, to seize back the Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands. Commentators say that the CCP hypes nationalism aiming to fuel public emotion and divert discontent from the regime. Will the Diaoyu Islands issue evolve into a real war between China and Japan? The majority think it #39;s unlikely. Let #39;s see what reasons have driven to this conclusion. On March 15, CCP new leaders Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang will assume office. The latest issue of Japan #39;s Sh #363;kan Gendai magazine quoted a source of CCP senior official. He mentioned an old Chinese saying, "A new official applies strict measures." The informant said that the Xi-Li administration will follow their predecessors to initiate three major new polices. Ten years ago when taking office, Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao put forth three new polices. Those were "combating SARS, holding Six-Party Talks, and and coping with the war in Iraq." So, under the reign of Xi-Li, retaking the Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands is likely to be listed as one new policy, said the Japanese magazine article. According to the CCP senior official, Xi Jinping vigorously promoted Sino-Taiwan free trade agreement in ...

Corruption casts shadow on Spanish islands

22 February 2013 Last updated at 20:25 ET

Corruption has come to dominate the news in Spain. Scandals have engulfed the government and royal family. But the Balearic islands are under particular suspicion - linked to a third of the current scandals. The BBC's Tom Burridge in Palma investigates.

In the Santa Catalina market in a middle-class neighbourhood of Mallorca's capital, Palma, there is widespread scepticism over politics - and politicians.

"All of them," shout a chorus of women gathered around Julia Jimenez's butcher stall, when I ask how many politicians in Spain are corrupt.

It is a perception that is hard to shift, even if Transparency International rates Spain as relatively clean - the 30th least corrupt country, joint with Botswana, above Portugal and well above Italy.

Bernardo Contesti, 42, who owns a fourth-generation family-run fruit and veg business, believes corruption has been fuelled by the Spanish property boom and excesses of the past.

"Everyone seems to have some dirty laundry that needs cleaning," he sighs.

One of the most famous scandals linked to the Balearic Islands is known as Palma Arena - a complicated web of investigations which have led to allegations against Inaki Urdangarin, the Duke of Palma and the Spanish king's son-in-law.

The accusation is that, through a "non-for-profit" company, he massively overcharged the regional governments of Valencia and the Balearic islands for organising sporting events.

He has not been charged with any criminal offence and denies any wrongdoing. However the investigations by state prosecutors are ongoing.

The future of oil on the Falkland Islands

Territorial bickering aside, the Falkland Islands have been rather disappointing to the oil industry since the 2011 discovery of 1.4 billion barrels of oil in the North Falkland Basin, Alic writes.

In the run-up to that referendum, Argentina has stepped up the rhetoric, most recently with the Argentine Foreign Minister claiming that within 20 years, the Falkland Islands will be entirely under Argentinas control.

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has responded by calling this a counterproductive fantasy. Hague says the government of Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has refused diplomatic dialogue and chosen instead a path of bullying.

We shall never negotiate about the sovereignty of the islands, unless the islanders wish it, Hague said.

For now, the Falklands are a British Overseas Territory, but Argentina claims sovereignty over the islands, which it calls Las Malvinas. Its a rather long and complicated history that has seen the islands change hands numerous times, but first inhabited by the French back in 1764. In 1982, Britain and Argentina fought a 10-week war over the islands. One can argue all day about whom the islands really belong to, but that will get us nowhere.

Whats relevant is what todays inhabitants want.(Related article:The Real Reason Behind Argentina's Renewed Interest in the Falkland Islands)

Health care providers oppose Republican resolution to not expand Medicaid

Topeka Allowing more low-income people to get health coverage will save lives and boost the economy, health care providers said Friday as they urged legislators to reject a resolution that says Kansas isn't interested in expanding Medicaid under the federal Affordable Care Act.

But several Republican legislators supported the resolution, saying Medicaid expansion would be too costly, drive up the federal deficit, and they expressed general displeasure with the ACA, which was signed into law by President Barack Obama and is known as Obamacare.

After the hearing, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Marc Rhoades, R-Newton, said he would talk with fellow committee members to see if there was any interest in working further on House Concurrent Resolution 5013.

The measure indicates the Legislature's "intention not to expand Medicaid services in Kansas," under the ACA.

Currently, Medicaid provides health care coverage to about 380,000 Kansans. The largest portion of them about 230,000 are children. The rest are mostly lower-income, pregnant women, people with disabilities and elderly people. The $2.8 billion program is funded with federal and state dollars.

Medicaid in Kansas doesnt cover low-income adults who dont have children. And a nondisabled adult with children is eligible only if his or her income is below 32 percent of the poverty level, which is approximately $5,000 per year. That is about the most difficult eligibility level in the country.

But starting in 2014, the ACA creates an eligibility level of 138 percent of the federal poverty level, which is $15,415 per year for an individual and $26,344 per year for a family of three.

Estimates are that upwards of 150,000 more Kansans would be covered under the expansion. The federal government would pay all the costs of expansion for three years and then ratchet that down to 90 percent of the cost over the next several years.

The influx of dollars would help the economy, while getting early medical care to more Kansans, supporters of the ACA said.

But in bringing up the resolution, Rep. David Crum, R-Augusta, and chairman of the House Health and Human Services Committee, said he feared the federal government would be unable to keep its funding commitment because of budget problems, which would leave states on the hook for paying for the coverage.
