Beauty Innovations – The Latest Anti-Aging Procedures

A recent article in New Beauty magazine highlights several recently introduced anti-aging innovations. Dr. Simon Ourian of Epione Beverly Hills says hed like to see more data showing the effectiveness of these devices.

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) April 09, 2013

I like to think that I work on the cutting edge of aesthetic medicine, but in truth I will always wait for sufficient data to be collected before I introduce new devices or products to my patients, says Dr. Simon Ourian, Medical Director of Epione Beverly Hills. The innovations discussed in the article are interesting but Im not ready to add them to my practice just yet.

Until now, dermal fillers have only been administered with needle injections. According to the manufacturers of a new device this makes the patient more susceptible to swelling and bruising. Using pressure driven by CO2 this device allows the doctor to easily control the flow of the treatment and more accurately place fillers.

Another new device on the market allows doctors to determine a patients skin type in order to gauge how they will respond to laser treatment. Armed with that information, lasers can be calibrated to the proper parameters to ensure safe and successful treatments. The device factors in skin tone, melanin levels, and sun exposure to make a determination of skin type and thereby minimizing the risk for complications and improving the efficacy of the treatments.

Finally, a new anti-acne pill is said to eliminate the need for eating fatty foods to improve its absorption by the body. The pill is available by prescription only and is best suited to mitigate symptoms of extreme acne.

Im glad to see that the article made note of that the anti-acne pill may have significant side effects, says Dr. Ourian. Its important for patients to know these risks before they start any drug regimen.

Dr. Ourian has been a pioneer in laser technology and non-invasive aesthetic procedures including Restylane, Juvderm, Radiesse and Sculptra. These treatments are used for the correction or reversal of a variety of conditions such as acne, acne scars, skin discoloration, wrinkles, stretch marks, varicose veins, cellulite, and others. More information about new anti-aging treatments can be found on Epiones website.

She Put Anti-Communism & Business Deals Before Human Rights

MSN UK - London - 9 April 2013 http://on-msn.com/10JCwxG

Peter Tatchell writes:

In the wake of her death, Margaret Thatcher has been hailed by President Obama as "one of the great champions of freedom and liberty." Former president, George Bush senior, added: "Margaret was, to be sure, one of the 20th century's fiercest advocates of freedom and free markets. A similar view was echoed by Chancellor Angela Merkel: "The freedom of the individual stood at the core of her beliefs.

Indeed, together with Ronald Reagan, Thatcher spearheaded the fight against communist totalitarianism. Although the break up of Soviet-era communism was largely as a result of internal contradictions and popular protests, the Iron Lady can claim some credit for challenging the Iron Curtain and halting its further advance.

Often her opposition to communism was, however, at the price of unsavoury alliances with anti-communist regimes that were far from freedom-loving. Throughout the 1980s, Thatcher colluded with the right-wing dictatorships in South Africa, Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Indonesia and the Philippines. She and her supporters have glossed over this less than seemly side of her freedom crusade.

Ever the Cold War warrior, a countrys stance in the East versus West struggle for global hegemony was the principle basis of her foreign policy and diplomacy. She also indulged dictators if there was money to be made. Hence her love of that bastion of freedom, the House of Saud. She sold them weapons and bought their oil. It was a necessity of realpolitik, she said by way of justification. There was not a jot of concern expressed by her about the plight of women or religious minorities under the iron-fisted rule of King Fahd. Freedom for Saudi women and Christians did not concern her.

At a time when human rights organisations were condemning Saddam Husseins tyranny, her government sought to sell arms components to the Iraqi dictator in 1981. Ignoring his poison gas attack on the Kurdish town of Halabja in 1988, which killed at least 3,000 people, she dispatched her envoy to offer Saddam 340 million in export credits; thereby helping sustain his brutal regime and arguably helping make it possible for him to attack Kuwait and ignite the first Gulf War.

‘Freedom Sings,’ a free concert, heading to Palace Theatre on Thursday

Lets be honest here.

The prospect of seeing a program about First Amendment rights titled Freedom Sings might not have you running to grab your car keys.

But theres much more to it than that. Freedom Sings a free show at 7 p.m Thursday at the Palace Theatre is a touring, multimedia stage production that features two country hit-makers, Princes former guitarist and the Steve Miller Bands keyboardist.

Musically, the concert runs a wide gamut, from Francis Scott Key to the Black-Eyed Peas, from This Land is Your Land to LMFAO.

Youll hear Neil Youngs Ohio, Randy Newmans Short People, a surprising version of My Humps. Theres Beatles, Elvis, Dylan, Woody Guthrie, said Ken Paulson, the shows narrator and creator, the president and CEO of the First Amendment Center in Nashville and a former editor of USA Today.

FUNNY, IRREVERENT, INSPIRATIONAL Its a concert that features songs that were once censored or inspired change, Paulson said. Its educational in a very entertaining way. The name Freedom Sings sounds a little like Up With People, but its a very funny, irreverent and inspirational evening.

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution is the one that protects the freedoms of speech, religion and the press.

Singer-songwriter Lari White, who scored three top-10 country hits in the mid-90s, has been an avid participant in Freedom Sings concerts and will be part of the Canton show, which is presented by The Repository.

Its about stirring people up, so that they can consciously recognize and viscerally experience the reality of what it means to be free, White said about the show. Your government does not have the right to silence you! That is such an anomaly in the course of human history!

In various Freedom Sings programs, White has sung everything from Joanie Sommers 1962 hit Johnny Get Angry (with the lyrics I want a brave man, I want a cave man) to Beyonces Girls Who Run the World.
