SSM Health Care hired Mike Bowers as the president of St. Joseph Health Center. He will oversee hospital operations for St. Joseph Health Center, St. Joseph Medical Park and St. Joseph Health Center-Wentzville.
Bowers has nearly 20 years of working in leadership roles for large health care systems. Most recently, he was chief operating officer for Bakersfield, Calif., Memorial Hospital and chief strategy officer for Central Valley Region both with Dignity Health in California.
Before those jobs, he was senior vice president for Community Hospital Corp. in Plano, Texas, working with hospitals and systems across the country to meet their missions. He also worked for the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston for more than nine years in leadership roles.
Bowers has a bachelors degree in biological science from the University of Pittsburgh and masters degrees in health administration and business administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
