Home and happy
The 12 hour and 30 minute flight to Singapore from Copenhagen wasn't too bad. Our main cargo was 18 race horses and 3 grooms to look after them so the upper deck did get a little crowded and we had all the smells of the farmyard gently wafting upwards from the main deck Lovely horses though.I am now back in Singapore and extremely happy to be back with Ita. We have decided to have another go at I

San Jose
Pretty entertaining wake up this morning. We were headed for San Jose on the 630am bus so I had set my alarm for 545am to get up and run up the road to the bus. I woke up to the alarm but the other guys didn't. As I was groggily finding my bearings Matt's alarm went off. Now there are only four of us in the room in each corner. Justin and Morris have no alarm mine is in my hands And that lea
Seaside Bound
Being the first of February I realized we have been gone for two months now. Recalling our trip so far we have had an amazing adventure. Today we go on travelling from San Jose to Puerto Viejo. We managed to miss our ten o'clock bus because it was full so our morning consisted of sitting at the bus terminal until 12. When we got on the bus to start the four and a half hour ride Morris realized

thursday and friday
Thursday night and Friday Well okay the evening didn't go as planned. We put burgers and dogs on the barbie and ended up with only dogs for dinner....the burgers fell apart and ended up in the charcoal. No biggie we still had plenty of food and drinks. I faded fast and went to bed around 9pm whilst everyone else stayed up and watched TV. I was up early Friday morning and couldn't wait to g
Cruisin’ Town
Today we all decided to do our own things. Matt mainly lazed about the hostel while the rest of us randomly wandered around town. Justin Morris and I found our way to a black sand beach that entertained us for an hour before we found out the sand was just too fine. It stuck to everything and didn't come off very well. I headed back to the hostel while they went to a local diner for food. Later i
Hola from India
Feb 5 2010Day 1 4 hours before landing in Delhi Its been over twenty hours since I left Portland but it feels like I just got on the plane. Two pampered backpackers in Siem Reap
Had breakfast in Soup Dragon then went on a mission to Angkor Holiday hotel which we'd heard lets you pay to use it's pool. When we eventually arrived the staff explained the pool area is in the shade until 2pm. Got a motorbike taxi back to the area where we're staying and spotted Terraces des Elephants hotel which had a sign for a Rooftop Pool. The hotel was amazing and had a wide staircase leadi
Cu Chi Tunnels
A really early start saw us on the road to the Cu Chi Tunnels about an hour and a halfrsquos drive outside Saigon. These were a tunnel complex dug by the Viet Cong from 1946 to 1968 covering an area of something like 200 sq kms. There were several similar tunnel systems in Vietnam but the Cu Chi Tunnels are particularly famous as they were in the heart of Americarsquos control area around

days 4 and 5
Wednesday night and Thursday Grilled lobster dinner on the beach Wednesday night at One Love was incredible. There were about 30 of us for dinner and were seated at tables with flickering LED candles. Tiki torches lit up the beach all the way down to the West end of White Bay. Our food was delicious and dessert well words just can't describe the key lime pie and Dolce de Leche cheesecake.
