Kanchanaburi
After a lovely trip to the UK visiting family and friends we were on our way back to the land of smiles. The trip to Heathrow was worse than the 11 hour flight to bangkok. An accident on the M25 meant that we were stuck on the London Carpark for an extra 2 hours. 4.5 hours in a car isn't an ideal start so glad my dad talked us into leaving a bit early It felt good to be back in Thailand the

Yesterday I got sick so I was not able to right this entry. I am a lot better today. Well anyway yesterday when we all woke up we went to Galaxy and had breakfast. After Galaxy we were driving in the car to get to Utah before we went to Utah we stopped at a dam and John and I went down to go see the dam. When we went to go see the dam someone had carved my name into the rock. So I took a picture
Day 19 Head South and Stop at the Bottom
Breakfast at 08h00 luxury Walk downstairs through the kitchen and into the garden luxury Almost as good as having breakfast in the bushAlthough we're in Cape Town there will be a bit of travelling today as we're going around the peninsula. As always we set of on time and started the journey by driving passed a number of retirement homes. Bantry Bay Clifton and Camps Bay were ticked off
More to do in Kanchanaburi
It isn't just doom and gloom in the Kanchanaburi area but let's start with the Hellfire Pass anyway. We visited the infamous section of the death railway at the Konyu Cutting. There is an official Australian historical memorial site and museum here and they provide an excellent but heartbreaking audio tour which greatly enhances the walking trails. It's full of soundbites from surviving POW's and
Erm sorry we’re having a boring couple of days
Found a cute backstreet cafe run by a husband and wife team which is thankfully less expensive than the ones on the main street so we ate breakfast and tea here. We had a wander down to the beach in the afternoon and walked along the promenade. It's a really long beach and therefore nice and uncrowded. We then had another look round the main centre and were harassed every 2mins by people selling b

Ever hear that Asian students are more studious and shyer than American students Or have you heard that they are always on their best behavior Well let me tell you kids are kids regardless of which country they come from. Irsquove got students that are very quiet and very studious but Irsquove also got students that never stop talking giggling and singing. We

Jinhae and Gyeongju
Heather the traveler strikes again So as you may know Irsquove been quite the busy little bee. Irsquove been working and spending time with my friends. Irsquove been adjusting to life in Asia learning Korean and trying to understand the culture more so as to not offend anyone. Well on top of that Irsquove spent my Saturdays the last two weekends taking daytrips around Busan. Yes
Bowen Island getaway
I'd always wanted to check out Bowen Island so was pleasantly surprised when Kenny booked a night over there. Only 20 minutes on the ferry from horseshoe bay meant a nice short journey there. The island is a real little getaway from the daily hustle and bustle and our bb was a real little hidden gem. The island is tiny and explored pretty easily. Our accommodation was overlooking Kilarney lake s
And Then I went to Seoul.
SEOUL Irsquoll refrain from the cheesey Seoul soul comparisons. You know the ones ldquoSeoul the soul of Koreardquo. Those types.I rode the KTX train up to Seoul for the three day weekend over the 23rd 24th and 25th. My schools birthday was on the Friday which meant we didnrsquot have school. Have I mentioned how much I love Korea Anyway I decided kind of spur of the moment the Su

One week in
One week ago we were extremely lucky to be on one of the very few flights leaving the 'Volcano Chaos' in Europe. The airport closed just after our flight departed not that we cared we were on our way to ChinaFlight went pretty smooth and we arrived in Beijing last wednesday morning. Was a fair bit colder than yr.no hyped Norweigan weathersite had promised but wearing most of our clothes we
