Sorry about the lack of updates lately we were having a few internet issues and then got busy but here it is...Since we were in the region and Brett was now drinking and actually enjoying wine we decided to go on one of the bus tours that take you to several different wineries. We ended up calling Bushtucker Tours at 10am to book one and the guy said No worries will be there to pick you up
Yuanyang’s story 02

Shalatuo supposed to be a remote village no tourist would go there without any particular reason and was my ideal place for undisturbed terrace scene in Yuanyang it created a triangle with Honghe and Luchun county I did couple of walks back few years ago between different counties it provided lovely long walk in tiny trails tourists
Of tourists and locals
Even though the Sunday market in the village of Tarabuco is quite a touristic experience it is still used by the locals of the pueblos to come together buy and barter and stock up their food supply for the next weeks. Some people leave their villages before dawn in order to walk or ride their mules and donkeys to the market. On Tarabuco market you can buy everything from locally produced food

Crazytown
La Paz amazes me.I have never seen a city like this before and it is not possible to compare it to any other city I have seen so far. Some things that amaze me hereThe city centre lies in a valley on the high plateau and all the surrounding mountains are covered with brick houses that have not been painted yet and will never be painted. The density of these houses is enormous. The traffic is a chao
Day 67 This is the life
Morning rolls in and before breakfast bathing suits flippers snorkels and the grey dinghy bring all of us to shore. Sun glows up the thin strip of white sand hemmed by brown seaweed washed up by the tide. A few of us go up to the remnant old highway an engineering feat that broke the financial back of the railroad guru who financed it when a hurricane or some Florida catastrophe struck it ju

Day 8 Goodbye Trade Wind
Ok really this is the last day of the Adventure. And the earliest wersquove gotten up since the trip began. We actually set alarms. Not only do we have a deadline for getting the boat in but more important if we miss the low tide mark we canrsquot pass under the bridge to get to our port and would have to wait until after dark. Wersquore efficient but therersquos still a few hours of sai
"Jam the Wheels in Nepal" my not so touristy days in Nepal
Namaste from NepalI postponed my visit to Nepal for years because of The 7 year Maoist peoples' War.I waited until things quieted down and tourists started to come again feeling it was safer. Well miscalculated big time I landed one day unaware there was trouble brewing already with the Maoists massively already in town from the countryside in the schools ready for a massive protest the v

Happy Cinco de Mayo We woke up this morning in Republic to SNOW. It lasted a good couple of hours and it got to the point where there was no grass showing before it slowed down but it did and turned to rain. It was definitley cold but we headed up to the property around 1130 hoping to get some planning done. We got word yesterday that a gravity fed drainfield has been approved So we con
Molokai
The search for a nice beach on Molokai was a frustration. Higher winds and rough seas make all the islands a little more dangerous in the winter time and you have to pick your places carefully. Since the south shore is the most protected and would be the safest for swimming we drove all along the south side of the island and stopped at every place that any map made any suggestion of a beach b

The first half of today we toured the Sichuan Culinary Museum a little museum with a lot of history.Beginning around 3500 years ago the Chinese have had a pretty rich culinary background that the government has recently tried to document with work in archaeological digs and museum foundry and the museum in Sichuan had done a wonderful job of displaying thousands of years of culinary history i
