Frio Para Ti
To explain the title it is a piece of the most complex and interesting senteces I've been able to casually use in conversation thus far. Someone said that Lima was cold and I said 'Frio para mi no es como frio para ti' which rougly translated to 'Cold for me is not like cold for you'. If someone out there reads this and has corrections please keep them to yourself. I'm proud of that one. I've l
Day one
We left Rockford under a bright clear blue cool sky and after a 6 hour ride we rolled into O'Fallon Il on a hot muggy partly cloudy afternoon. Got a little rain south of Springfield though not enough to warrant a rain suit. That would have made it a lot more uncomfortable with that on. Didn't take any pictures on the way down since most people see flat ground in Illinois. Not remarkable.
Police Apartment
Day 18 WednesdayUp and out by 900 AM. I have breakfast at the hole in the wall and on to the Sweet Caf to have the terrible coffee use the wireless access. Take care of some business and email Janice. My mouse shoots craps. I hate the mouse pad. I manage to buy a 9.80 mouse for 10.81 with relative ease. They seem to charge 10 percent extra if you put it on a credit card and they really hate
Kuala Lumpur
Thursday 3rd June Kuala Lumpur. The ship docked in the Port of Kelang where we became a part of farcicle operation of trying to organise 1500 ageing Australian pensioners into tour groups for the trip into Kuala Lumpur. And what a farce it was. I have seen better organized wars and it was funny but not funny seeing everyone walking round in circles not knowing where to go and trying to follo
My Opinion
Day 19 Thursday Up at 900 AM Breakfast at the hole in the wall. I find a different place to try to call Janice. No answer. I wander over to Sweet caf have a cup of incredibly strong coffee. They are starting to recognize me and what I am going to order. It good to be recognized I surf the internet. Ping Janice a couple of different ways I finish my coffee and walk back over the telephone pla

Last Few Days in Northern Thailand
Returning from the trek I decided that I'd spend two more nights in Chiang Mai so that I could get a chance to check out the Sunday night market supposedly a highlight of the city before heading on to Laos. The first night back from the trek we all everyone from my trek met up at the pooh Ecotrekking office for some some more drinking and a chance to actually hang out with the locals. Rapo
Slow Boat down the Mekong
The next morning we all leave Chiang Kong to cross the border to Huay Xai where we go through Laos immigration. Its just a short 5 min ferry across the Mekong river from where we stayed the night before and immigration is kind of a joke where you just give them money and they stamp your passport no customs no anything. If I wanted to I probably could have smuggled and small child across in my

After 2 nights in Prachuap we waited 2 hours extra as our train to Chumphon was delayed. Well on our way we nearly missed our station and Lynn forgot her book on trainhad to rush back on and retrieve itthe staff were not impressed as they turn around very quickly at stations. Chumphon is nothing specialits usually a stop over for Koh Tao or for Visa runs to Burma which is only 40km away. So we
Refrigerator Nightmares
The nightmare continues. The refrig arrived on Monday but when the old one came out we found hidden surprises and had to send the new one back as it would not fit. So more shopping and finally by hours of work on the computer we found one that would be perfect. Ordered it immediately Tue we got an email it was back ordered. I didn't like the sound of that so called the company and found that
Monday May 31
Another clear morning and 40 degrees outside. We are saying goodbye to Wyoming as we head to Glacier NP and Waterton NP which is in Montana and Canada. To get to Montana we had to go back up through Yellowstone as it has the only main road out to where we are going. On the way back through we stopped by Old Faithful for a rest break and arrived just in time to see it erupt again Further down

We stayed at a truck stop in Shelby MT last night and thankfully our gas heat works in our trailer so we were nice and warm. We drove only 35 miles to the Canadian border. It is barren out here too. We were told at the Canadian customs that Dan has automatic dual citizenship in the US and Canada and that the boys could get theirrsquos also if they applied. We drove another 2 hours to Watert
Luxor
Luxor is a must see when you are in Egypt. It was more impressive than the Pyramids of Giza. Our top three favorites spots were the Valley of the Kings the Temple of Karnak and the Habu Temple. Pick up a guide and car for the day while you are here. Just bargain at the airport when you land. We got a guide with car for 600 Egyptian Pounds for 4 people 85. He drove us around and even recom
Full Update
Ok now i have a bit of time on a computer at our motel. So from our last update we made our way to Richford Vermont...it was kind of a wierd little town. Slept in the park which at first i wasn't too keen on but it worked for a free place to throw up the tent. It rained really hard for about an hour. And then cleared up. The next day we got up and should have gotten an early start but were feelin

Bonaire "Bon Bini"
May 22nd thru May 29th. When Plan A of vacation fails there's always Plan B. I was to go to Belize with GAP Adventures in May but not enough people signed up. I rescheduled for June. That trip also fell through due to lack of interest. I called Crazy Scuba in Richardson TX and they recommended Bonaire. It's a diver's paradise and well known for shore diving. I checked the airlines and found an
