Women of China 2 The Haircut Chronicles

Tan and I both got haircuts this week. The only things I could say regarding my hair were short and not too short so I pointed to different parts of my head and let him do his thing. To be honest I've had worse haircuts in the US when I was fully able to communicate what I wanted. Anywho following up the haircut day we took a trip to Wu Zhen which was way too packed to be enjoyed. Wu Zh

Sequoia Park

Here are the Sequoia Nat'l. Park pictures and all I can say is pictures REALLY don't do the giants justice. These trees are towering giants and a miralce of nature. We are so impressed with the National Parks out here this is one branch of the government that works right I should explain a couple of things. The tree you see on it's side once had a family living in it and in the 1870's they

The impact of Chuchuhuasi or something similar

The reason why most tourists visit the area of Chachapoyas is the archeological site of Kuelap which is supposed to be the second most famous ruin in Peru besides Machu Picchu. I knew that Kuelap would and should be my last Peruvian site after spending more than five weeks in Peru I had the feeling that I had seen enough ancient Peruvian stones...I was Peruviansitesbraindead. And I will defini

Garmin can’t find Granite Hot Springs but Jim can

Friday June 4 2010It rained all night long and we expect nothing but rain again today. Because of this we decided to take it slow this morning. Hiking was not going to be a good option for the day so we decided to head into the town of Jackson. The downtown district is Wyomingrsquos version of Brown County so for those who like to shop in a quaint little district this was a goldmine. For

Whistler weekend

Matt and I have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing yet very wet weekend in Whistler. I think we Vancouverites tend to take Whistler for granted. Whenever I'm there I have to remind myself that people come from all over the world to experience this beautiful place in the middle of the mountains. Unfortunitly the weather decided not to cooperate with us and it did rain most of the weekend

Lago di Como Bellagio

Getting out of Milan was as hard as getting in. We seemed to travel in circles for hours following signs for 'Como'. And that was after we spent an hour at least looking for a couple of 'lavandarias' that Buff had Googled. They turned out to be drycleaners not selfservice laundromats but not to worry. He found one on the web in Bellagio where our next B B is. Finally on the Autostrada
