Most Memorable Stay In Kanyakumari……

January 12th 2008........510PM.......we were at one of the southernmost tips in India. I can call it the only southernmost tip of India.....but we must not forget our dear Andaman and Nicobar Islands Though we were tired with the daylong journey from the arabian sea cost of Kochi....watching all the fantastic beaches of Kollam Varkala and heading towards Thiruvananthapuram.....the excellent s

Well we looked at the weather report for Yellowstone and saw that it was to be a high of 49 and rainy so we said to ourselves Selves Let's go to Yellowstone on the way home or not instead of on the way up and we'll stop in Glacier on the way up instead. So here we are in Montana. Hi Montana friends We came up I15 which we had never done before. Quite a good road This campground has a

Day 3 Del City OK to Tucumcari NM

We started in the cool of the morning again today at 5 AM. We stopped for breakfast around 9 AM at a Cracker Barrel. Our first planned stop was Tripp's Harley Davidson to purchase our first souvenir Tshirts. Ran into three guys that are on their way to Alaska. They left from Michigan and have already been to Key West. After we left there it was on to the Cadillac Ranch on Route 66. This w

Beautiful Magnificent Jasper Banff NPs

Happy Birthday Barbara and PeggyWe left Hinton ready to see Jasper and Banff National Parks after hearing so many times how beautiful they are. And believe me they did not disappoint. Back in the USA to Glacier NP

We got up this morning to clearer skies after last nightrsquos rain. We closed up the campers and drove back to Lake Louise to see the sun on the glaciers and the water of the lake. The clouds had snuck back in but the view was still spectacular. We went back for the campers and headed south to the town of Banff. I erred in not choosing the more scenic Bow Valley Parkway choosing instead th

Queen Charlotte Track

game night

People can drink publicly I knew that but it's still weird to see it. People by themselves and in groups on the bus hanging out on the corner walking around town with their country colors and get ups on and their beers in hand. Kinda like how it used to be at Grand Ol' Day when folks could walk through the streets with a drink. very festive. But it wasn't as mayhemic as I anticipated unt

Saturday 19 June Liard Hot Springs BC to Sikanni River RV Park BC

Took a couple of photos of the suspension bridge over the Liard River just south of Liard Hot Springs. It is a really prett bridge and is the last suspension bridge on the Alaska Highway. The next excitement was encountering a small herd of bison that included several calves. I took a bunch of pictures and most of them came out really well. Then just north of Muncho Lake we saw a couple of roc

Day 14 Resting in Kalami area

What a way to find out my decision to walk yesterday was the correct one...............I am woken just after 5am by the mother of all thunderstorms which seems to be directly overhead. The lights went out the windows and shutters all rattled as the thunderclaps deafened me. The rain was very heavy and the lightening lit up the sky behind so in fact the worst of the storm was not over Kalami but t

Hot Springs Experience

We spent a day in camp today. Virtually the whole day lounging around the pool. There are 3 sections with each section increasing from one end to the other. The first section is around 100 degrees. The second section is about 106 degrees. The last section is around 118 degrees. So we spent two hours in the hot springs pool this afternoon and visited. We are the middle agers. Many baby boomers

Sunday 20 June 2010 Sikanni River to Hythe Alberta

Sunday 20 June 2010 Sikanni River to Hythe AlbertaAnother pretty day on the road today. The closest thing to a wild animal we saw today was a large black lab that from a long ways off we thought might be a black bear. We drove through miles and miles of spruce forests with nothing going on but natural gas operations. Stopped at Walmart and Safeway in Ft. St John for provisions and fuel. It
