Von der city of life in die city of …nothing…

Had a good day yesterday in Via del Mar area. We went there by bus for lunch with Estban Jan and Vicnte but we ended up spending all day with them touring through Via Reaca and Con Con including a visit to a restaurant right on the coast. Its literally built onto the rocks and has crashing surf outside the huge West facing windows. We all had seafood chowders of soups and th

Day 5 in Sydney

So kleine Blaue Quallen Blue

a rather short day

Today was a connector day. We needed to connect two 50 mile days but this day had only 16 miles. Since we were going a short distance and didn't want to get there to early we took off around 1000. The hills of Texas are getting more and more pronounced. When we made it to town we found a small diner for lunch. This place had plenty of pictures of road kill alligators and rattle snakes on the wall

Omni review

I would advise the Omni's facilities to everybody trying to find best hotel packages. The hotel provided a fine stay. Extremely clean. Optimal location. Within minutes of plenty of attractions They could've put in a little thought to the size of the suite. Staff was friendly but a little slow. Most friendly place however it's costly for what you get

The Baileys survive the Great Whites

Mike and I have had a few days exploring the area around Knysna. The rivers and inlets are a haven for wildlife lots of fantastic birds and butterflies which can be huge. We found a great par 3 course near Sedgefield which cost 8 for 18 holes. The greens were excellent and it would be a good challenge for any level of golfer. It was great fun and made even better by the birds on the lake next t

Classes first trip and laundry

So this past week was a very stressful time but I am still having a lot of fun Last Sunday we were trying to run errands before classes started only to find out that most places in our neighborhood weren't open on Sundays. Romania trip in Bucharest

This afternoon we went to a staterun orphanage. Before leaving they sat me down and mentally prepared me for what I might see. They told me I shouldn't take any pics if i took any and they ended up online this organization could lose their privilege to enter the staterun orphanage as freely as they now can. I didn't want to risk that so I didn't take my camera with me. They told me that the

Romania trip in Arad

After 11 hours on a train from Bucharest to Arad I finally arrived to stay for the next 2 days. I stayed at a house for orphans and learned a lot about the process of bringing children out of the state orphanages into homes. The state orphanages have from 300 600 children and there is 1 nurse for about 32 babies. It is so hard for the nurses to keep up and the babies end up being changed on

Cambodia Tomb Raiding at Angkor Wat

The journey to Cambodia was another epic slog 12 hours long and featuring 4 different buses Luckily there was plenty of bizarre incidents to break the journey up. We set off from Bangkok at 7am and even though there's lots of people waiting to catch the bus some how we end up in a mini bus on our own. We don't complain and make use of the extra leg room. After 5 hours we arrive at town on the e
