World Travel : Trip 119 : South-East Asia, Thailand : Karaoke Musical Interlude in Udon Thani – Video

World Travel : Trip 119 : South-East Asia, Thailand : Karaoke Musical Interlude in Udon Thani
Video/Movie Clip recorded on a 3 week trip to Thailand, October 2012. Udon Thani is a medium size town in the North of Thailand. It has some nice old temples to see/visit ... and it also has a very large modern shopping centre with lots of interesting things to do! Our Hotel in Udon Thani, the Paradise Hotel, was quite a posh one - the main Bar had a Grand Piano which we found out was going to have a Karaoke Night. Well I can #39;t really sing but Fish wanted to give it a go .... but thought it wise to have a practise before hand. The Movie shows us sort of practising before we head down to the Bar for the Karaoke Night.From:TravelChampionViews:0 0ratingsTime:13:29More inTravel Events

India wins three prestigious travel awards

New Delhi, Dec 13 (IANS) India has won three top tourism awards from the World Travel Awards (WTA), including for being the world's best destination.

Apart from winning the award for best destination, it also bagged the award for world's leading tourist board award for its "Incredible India" campaign and for world's leading tourist attraction for Taj Mahal, a world heritage site.

Accepting the award at an event here Wednesday evening, Tourism minister K. Chiranjeevi said the ministry has planned a "multi-pronged strategy to increase India's share in tourist arrivals".

"This includes development of world class infrastructure and manpower and undertaking aggressive promotional and marketing activities," the minister said.

He also said the ministry has launched the second phase of the Incredible India campaign where the focus was on destination and products to attract tourists to the country.

In 2011, 6.29 million tourists visited India as compared to 5.78 million in 2010.

The minister also said that tourism has become an instrument for sustainable development including poverty elimination, environmental regeneration and job creation in countries across the world.

The World Travel Award, considered to be the biggest awards in the travel industry, was for the first time held in Asia.

Explore My World Travel Advises on Restraint when Packing for Two Seasons

With many travelers packing for two seasons on their Christmas vacations, Explore My World Travel warns against the development of shoulder and neck injuries due to overweight luggage. Travel expert Victoria Ugarte of Explore My World Travel advises travelers to exercise discipline and restraint when packing for two seasons.

(PRWEB) December 13, 2012

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there were more than 59,400 luggage related injuries treated at hospital emergency rooms, doctors offices and clinics in 2011. Of those injuries, more than 25,900 injuries were sprains and strains; More than 26,300 were back injuries; Approximately 2,060 were neck injuries. With a swell in travel expected over the Christmas holiday season, travel expert, Victoria Ugarte of Explore My World Travel advises travelers to exercise discipline and restraint when packing in order to avoid injury.

Ugarte says, Nothing starts a vacation off on the wrong foot, or ruins it altogether, like a physical injury caused by overweight luggage. The risks can be greatly reduced with some careful planning and disciplined packing.

Ugarte offers sensible packing tips for two seasons this Christmas holiday season:

1) Pack Ahead Of Time: Packing for two seasons means double the organization, so its recommended that travelers not pack at the last minute. While packing at least three days ahead of the departure date is acceptable, a week prior is ideal.

2) Write Out Packing List: A packing list forces the traveler to think their wardrobe choices through and help to stay disciplined. However, it will only work if the traveler sticks to the list.

3) Work Out Time Of Year & Activities: It is important for travelers to check the average temperatures at their destination and consider the activities they will be engaging in before packing.

4) Condense Color Palette: Utilizing a monochromatic color scheme (e.g. black, white and grey), for the main wardrobe items means that each piece of clothing can be coordinated 3 to 4 times. More efficient wardrobe coordination means the need to take less clothing.

5) Easy Care Fabrics Only: Its advisable to pack easy care fabrics, such as knits and/or synthetic blends, which are light and easier to maintain. Packing woven clothing items in pure fibers such as cotton and linen, which take more time to maintain, tends to lead to packing more items.
