Tampa Neurology Associates – 2919 W Swann Ave, Tampa, FL

Skip to main content AND OTHERS

Tampa Neurology Associates' role is to give professional advice to doctors and patients regarding Neurological problems such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's, Migraines, and Parkinson's disease.

A neurologist is a Physician who has specialized medical training in disorders of the nervous system. Each physician cares for his or her own patients. Routine appointments will always be scheduled with your physician. If a problem occurs when your doctor is not on call, you will be seen by one of the other physicians. We will ensure that you will resume your care with your original physician as soon as possible.

Patients often assume that they will hear from us if their test results are abnormal. However, lab results often do not reach this office as a result of mailing delays, lab errors, etc. For this reason, if you don't hear from us, it does not necessarily mean that your test results are normal.

If you would like your test information on the telephone prior to visiting the office, please call 5 or 6 days after having the test performed. If possible, you will be given an impression of your lab data over the telephone.

Dedicated to Your Child's Neurological Health Advocare Pediatric Neurology Associates is a specialty practice dedicated to the successful diagnosis and treatment of neurological and developmental disorders in children. Our advanced medical staff includes three board certified physicians with more than 75 years of combined experience in pediatric neurology, plus EEG technologists, and medical assistants.

We serve Northern New Jersey with offices in Morristown, Sparta, and Springfield and use state-of-the-art testing and treatment techniques to evaluate childhood language, learning, and attention deficit disorders; developmental disorders such as autism; headaches; and other problems, including childhood seizure disorders, tics, and Tourette's syndrome. Our pediatric neurologists work closely with many of the pediatricians and family physicians in the region.

For your convenience, we offer EEG, 24-hour EEG, long-term monitoring (video EEG), and electrodiagnosis (EMG) of neuromuscular disorders. By providing this comprehensive scope of services in one location, children can develop comfortable relationships with the same doctors and technicians, and parents can spend less time coordinating appointments and visits. We also participate in most managed care programs.

Residency | Department of Neurology | University of Pittsburgh

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Neurology ResidencyProgram continues to attract outstanding physicians from the United States and around the world for state-of-the-art training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system.

Twenty-eight adult neurology residents train in the four-year program, which begins with one year of internal medicine residency and then proceeds for three years of full-time training in neurology. Resident trainees receive detailed instruction and practical daily experience in the technique of the neurological examination, localization of abnormalities in the nervous system, differential diagnosis, and neurological investigation and therapeutics. For a solid underpinning of basic neuroscience for their clinical training, our residents are taught neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neurochemistry, neuroradiology, neuropathology, neuropharmacology as well as retrieval and analysis of current medical information. There has been an increased emphasis on the fundamentals and application of evidence-based neurology with a special emphasis on the use of online data for decision-making assistance. Under the direction of an outstanding faculty of attending neurologists, residents assume progressive oversight of patient care during the course of their training.

During the last two years of training, ample elective time allows each resident to develop skills and expertise tailored to his or her particular interests, while the core curriculum assures a high degree of competency in general neurology. The residents are given multiple opportunities to teach via formal lectures, small group conferences, and grand rounds presentations, activities which begin to prepare them for careers in academic neurology. The vast majority of the graduating residents pursue fellowship training and careers in academic neurology.

Neurology – University of Rochester Medical Center

The Department of Neurology is committed to three equally valued and interrelated missions: delivery of quality patient care, generating knowledge from research that will alleviate human suffering through prevention and treatment of disease, and educating physicians in accordance with highest professional standards.

We have an incredible team of neurologists, scientists, nurses, social workers, neuropsychologists, therapists, trainees, and staff who are singularly focused on making a difference in the lives of people with neurological disorders. Whether it is to partner with patients and families to treat symptoms and ease suffering or to be the beacon of hope and optimism for the future, we aim to treat every patient like our only patient. Whether it is to passionately pursue cures for stroke or Parkinsons Disease or to advance our understanding of Alzheimers disease or brain cancer, we seek the truth to benefit others. Whether it is to train physicians to become neurologists or to train neurologists to become scientists, we aim to create an environment of creativity, discovery and fulfillment.

We have completed a strategic planning process and we are well on our way of making our vision become a reality. I invite you to browse these pages to learn about each of our faculty, our clinical programs, our ongoing research efforts, and our training programs. If you would like to contact our department, please email us. We would be happy to answer your questions.
