Making crucial connections while making bank: Advice from the Career Center – The Auburn Plainsman

For many incoming students, getting a part-time job is the last thing on their mind when having to move to a new place, meet new people and start new classes in a totally new environment.

While starting college is definitely a challenge, what many new students dont realize is that having a part-time job or internship can be just as important as a good GPA when applying for jobs in the future.

Addye Buckley-Burnell, assistant director of career development at the Career Center, said work experience is crucial in todays job market.

80-90 percent of employers are telling us that having actual work experience is useful to students when applying for positions, and students with experience are seen more favorably by employers, Burnell said.

Burnell said the first step to finding a job is joining Handshake. Handshake is a job-posting site where employers express employment needs and all kinds of time commitments.

Registered students will automatically be added to the system and can log in with their University credentials. Once logged in, Burnell said to optimize ones profile.

We encourage students to have [their page] as updated as possible, Burnell said. They can essentially upload a resume and click add to profile which will include all the elements of their resume fully.

Burnell said the system works best when used frequently. The success rate in finding a position using this system is very high for students, Burnell said.

Helping to find a job during college isnt the only service that the Career Center provides, though.

Its for everything career related, from the day they first walk on campus to five years after theyve graduated, Burnell said.

Students who visit the Career Center will be able to utilize services like career assessments, interview preparation, resume and CV reviews and professional development discussions. The Career Center is open to all students of any major, and students can have walk-in appointments during business hours, Monday-Friday.

For students eager to get a job when the fall semester starts, the Career Center will be holding an internship and part-time job fair on Aug. 30.

It will feature employers from the Auburn area who are going to be hiring in the fall. The event is free to all students.

Its a great way for students to get connected with positions they may not know about, Burnell said.

Late Class XII result, online payment issues stifling UG registrations – Millennium Post

The supposed last day of registrations to Delhi University's undergraduate saw students running helter-skelter to help desks and online centres to get assistance on completing the form and other formalities.

There are students whose Class XII results are yet to be declared, which includes students of the International Baccaulaureate (IB) Board and a few other boards.

Keeping the concerns of students in mind, the University decided to extend the deadline till Tuesday 5pm.

However, several students such as those of Uttar Pradesh board, especially in places where results have been declared late are helpless due to the deadline and the late result may cause them to lose their chance to register. Many students have faced issues in the past on the admissions portals, and the University has regularly assured and resolved such problems within two-three days.

There are, however, students who continue to have troubles with payment of fees. Some have even paid the fee twice just to make sure the registration is complete and a receipt is generated.

Mukul Sehrawat, a Statistics Honours aspirant, said: "I have given an application to the help desk to check whether or not my fee has been paid. I am really worried."

Neha Sharma, another applicant, said: "Fee receipt has been a major issue and I wish the University can give us a guarantee that it will be generated soon, given that portal is going to be closed soon and cut-offs are just a week away."

Nishika Khanna, who has applied for English Honours, said: "I have paid the fees twice and wonder whether the receipt has been generated."

Some have faced logistical problems, due to internet connectivity problems or lack of computing knowledge in uploading documents and paying fees online.

Satvik Kumar, a BCom aspirant, said: "Last date of admission registration is about to end and I am unable to upload my marksheet. I am going to Hansraj College where an online centre is helping students."

Dia Shekhawat, another aspirant, said: "I am from Uttar Pradesh board and my marksheet has not come yet. Therefore, DU must extend the deadline."

Gunjan Kaur, a History aspirant, said: "I don't know how to do credit or debit card payment and will ask someone to help me. DU can extend the deadline for other state boards I think."

Meanwhile, reacting to the report by Millennium Post on June 6 which talked about 'Gurukul-style' training lessons to be introduced in Ramjas College for freshers for the current admission process, the College authorities have said that the report is not official college policy as of now, and the views expressed are solely of Professor Dhani Ram, who was quoted in the story.

A Track-by-Track of Paramore’s ‘Riot!’ Read Through Emo Teen Memories – Noisey

Where were you in 2007? Maybe you were rendered grief-stricken by the end of The OC. Maybe you lived in a velour tracksuit and Uggs, because Paris Hilton taught you. You may well have been skipping through the good primary school years. Or maybe, like a load of people (and me), you split your time between lying on the sofa at your mate's house, watching System of a Down videos and going on MySpace on your family's desktop, posting passive aggressive bulletins to get your crush's attention when signing out and back into MSN didn't work.

If your life revolved around the latter, you may have identified somewhat as "Emo <3". And though there are loads of cultural markers of "emo" as it a decade ago probably, your hobbies included taking photos of yourself where it looked like you were trying to get your mouth as far off the side of your face as possible it was really centred on music. Mainstream emo (as opposed to everything that came before it; your Embraces, your Jawbreakers, your American Footballs) is characterised now, in our collective cultural memory, by a few landmark albums. 2005 had Fall Out Boy's From Under the Cork Tree, while 2006 belonged to My Chemical Romance's Welcome to the Black Parade. And then, in 2007, came Riot! by Paramore.

From its scrawled cover art which could well have passed as a page of a high school art sketchbook, to the power chord-heavy breakdowns over which powerhouse frontwoman Hayley Williams wailed fatalistic lyrics, Riot! captured that mainstream emo zeitgeist perfectly. For many of us, listening to it now is like an exercise in going back in time it was so intrinsic to UK emo culture at the time that it's hard to separate the songs from the experiences you had to them (probably while wearing a studded belt). To celebrate Riot! turning ten, we asked some of our friends to tell us about their memories of the tracks on the record. There is nail polish, there are tears, there is rain and, of course, there is a lot of being underage and cheap cider-drunk in public parks. Thank you, Paramore.

Is there a more fire emoji album opener than this in the whole of emo? To this day, when it all kicks in I feel like I could mosh through a brick wall, and those fills throughout are air-drum gold. Even the title is perfect MSN screen name fodder a sort of deep, meaningful statement on emotions and, like, stuff, which in reality means sweet fuck-all. Glorious. TOM CONNICK

Remember when a Saturday afternoon used to involve little more than loitering outside a prominent high street shop, playing with your fringe and sneering at adults? That's the entirety of the "That What You Get" video. It's literally just a bunch of people stood around awkwardly for an entire day, poking their Nokias and sending 'XD' faces to each other, and yet I still want to be in their gang. TOM CONNICK

When I lived in halls (or what all of you outside the UK know as on-campus housing/where all your teen posters hopefully go to die), all the sad boy stoners boys had just discovered Jeff Buckley, despite him being dead a decade. There were so many "just listen to this bit" 4AM moments in hazy rooms I lost count. No, put that guitar down and just listen to Hayley Williams belt everything into how hard she's going to try to make her teen love last forever, go away. I still remain that this is the superior Hallelujah, FIGHT ME. KIRBY PARTINGTON

In 2007 I worked at the local ~alt club~. Fridays were both indie night and hell for all of us moshers who worked there. When this song blew up, it managed to penetrate even the indie nights and singing along to that iconic middle 8 was a welcome reprieve from The Pigeon Detectives or whatever crepey, dry-as-woodchips-in-your-mouth act was big, while pouring WKD into plastic cups. On reflection, wow, how gross is this song lyrically? In fairness though, 17-year-old Hayley's internalised misogny is on a level with 30-year-old Drake's now so I guess I'll allow her. KIRBY PARTINGTON

As a teen I had a propensity to take things fairly literally, and as a specifically emo-leaning teen I had a moral responsibility towards feeling #misunderstood. So of course I have a very distinct memory of walking around my local area, alone, in the rain, listening to "When It Rains," my dodgy side-fringe stuck to my face by the wet. I usually reserved Bright Eyes, the sad girl's premium choice, as my music for feeling sorry for myself when it was pissing it down, but this more downbeat Riot! cut also did the job nicely. I learned about being a drama queen early thank you Paramore. LAUREN O'NEILL

Some people would suggest that "Let the Flames Begin" is filler, coming as it does during Riot!'s admittedly slightly saggy middle. Thirteen-year-old me, however, would have had to respectfully and loudly disagree. "Let the Flames Begin" has some of the most emo lyrics on the whole of this gloriously extra record, and that's what real #heads care about. It begins, "What a shame we all became such fragile broken things / a memory remains, just a tiny spark," and I'm fairly sure I had a school exercise book with those very words scrawled across the front, bookended by '<3's. LAUREN O'NEILL

This, lads, is what you call a flawlessly constructed emo/pop punk crossover belter. It is having your heart broken in the middle of the summer, thrashing around with a hairbrush in your bedroom and then writing a really good poem about it with a pen and paper and then taking a picture of it next to some sentimental items and then uploading it to emopoetsociety.livejournal.com. It's exactly the sort of tune that would cause me to smash a half-full can on the floor and flip a table over before the vocals even kick in.

At the time, Paramore were usually compared to lighter mall punk bands like All Time Low, You Me At Six or, such was the state of rock criticism, Avril Lavigne, but when you break the arrangements down, Riot! and "Miracle" in particular belongs more toward the darker, fuller side of the spectrum alongside Taking Back Sunday's Where You Want To Be or Bayside circa Bayside. There. I said it. Fight me, purists. Tenuous connections aside though, the greatest thing about Paramore is the fact that they simply don't sound like anybody else (at least they didn't before they released an album that is extremely *listens to Carly Rae Jepsen's EMOTIONonce*). Have the emotions of longing, frustration, hope and determination ever culminated in a more satisfying song (that you can fully pit to) than "Miracle"? The answer is, passionately, no. EMMA GARLAND

"Crushcrushcrush" may be about the dark side to having a crush but emo lyrics are essentially formulated to be applicable to anything utterly miserable tbh. I remember the power in angrily singing the mantra crushcrushcrush; to destroy boys I fancied, parents who only had bile in their throats for each other, the sexual power I suddenly had over older men who I was both enamoured with and disgusted by, enemies real and imagined, my body running on next to no sustenance, and my mind, already regulated by antidepressants. Listening to that song, I could crush it all. Especially for someone who spent all their time alone as a teenager, the lines "we're all alone now, give me something to sing about" and "nothing compares to a quiet evening alone" soared. This was one last defiant monologue on the album, before the catharsis of admitting that we're all broken. "Crushcrushcrush" doesn't mean all that now but it's still the best Paramore to do pissed karaoke to. HANNAH EWENS

I was lost like, alone in a crowd, quirky-teen lost when I heard this. I was searching for myself. Or God? Either way it was clich. This song snagged on customary teen snark. Lyrics that usually rolled over me locked into me when it played. I cried when I first heard it, like I was in an angsty CW show. It's a hymn. It's praise, it's faith. It's anger and it's a reminder, comfort and catharsis. I wasn't alone, clearly. BOLU BABALOLA

This brings it all back tbh: flailing braids, remote as a mic, a mirror being a teen who didn't relate to what she was meant to. Essentially, a precocious art hoe. WIth my attitude flagrant, this song was assurance. I didn't need people to get me. I got me. You don't need to let them in if you don't want them in, or to be seen as someone you're not to fit in if you see yourself. Art hoe vindication. I was insufferable and empowered. BOLU BABALOLA

One of the best things about Paramore and this album both being so objectively great is that Hayley Williams is a woman. Emo as it existed back in 2007 was dominated by men, and as a young girl who loved it, it meant a lot to me to hear Hayley smashing seven shades of shit out of a song better than any guy I could (and can) think of. "Born For This" is an excellent example of how important she was, not least because even when I hear it now, I think the exact same thought as I did when I first got hold of it ten years ago. When the chorus hits, I have this fantasy where I am Hayley, on stage head-banging my orange hair, one foot on an amp, mic cord round my neck, singing to a crowd. On Riot!, which saw Paramore arguably at the height of their powers, Hayley made emo girls realise that they could be rock stars too that they could be "Born For This" too and that alone is an enviable legacy. LAUREN O'NEILL

You can tell Lauren, Emma, Bolu, Kirby, Hannah and Tom about your 2007 memories on Twitter.

How To Create A Perfect Wedding Snapchat Filter With WeddingWire – International Business Times

When it comes to planning a wedding, no detail is too small to perfect. But that doesnt mean anything should be more stressful than necessary. So Snapchat teamed up with WeddingWire to offer strung out brides and grooms an easy way to make the perfect geofilter for every piece of the wedding, from engagement announcement to walking down the aisle.

While Snapchat already offered custom geofilters on its website, the templates werent specificallydesigned with the big day in mind. Users could upload their own designs, but not everyone has the time, skill or technology to design and create exactly what they have in mind.

Read: How To Make A Custom Snapchat Filter

WeddingWires partnership with Snap changes that. Now users who want a Dominos Pizza, Paper Source or Lily Pulitzer wedding themed filter can get it easily. WeddingWire has a variety of designsfrom different brands to commemorate the wedding, bachelor or bachelorette parties, engagement party or honeymoon.

WeddingWire is a site used for wedding planning and added the Snapchat filters as the next step in integrating technology into the planning process. "Social media is an essential component for couples celebrating their big day with friends and family. Our wedding-themed Snapchat geofilters templates are a leading example for how to personalize social sharing at specific wedding locations across the country,"Sonny Ganguly, chief marketing officer, saidin a press release from WeddingWire.

The process of making a custom filter with WeddingWire is very similar to making a custom filter on Snapchats site except WeddingWire only offers templates that you can tweak, and not the option to upload your own design. If you have a design youd like to upload yourself and turn into a filter, you can do that on Snapchats website. But remember, Snapchat doesnt allow hash tags in their custom filters so be sure to leave the # symbol out of it. Both sites allow users to design from a template and set time and location restraints for the geofilters.

Read: Snapchat Custom Stories Update: How To Use New Feature

You can access the homepage for the wedding filters here. Once youre on that page you can filter the wide range of filter templates by brand, event or season. Once you do that, scroll through until you see one you like. If you want to see a preview of one just click it and it will appear on the photo to the left side of the screen, you can click through these to see the filter in a few different variations.

Once you think you have the one you want, click Next at the bottom. This will bring you to a page where you can customize the text on the screen with different fonts, text sizes and colors. Once you have that chosen you can choose the location, square footage you want the filter to cover and the dates and duration for which you want the filter available.

Then you pay and submit and youre all set. To improve the chance that your filter will be approved on time you may want to submit it a few days in advance even though Snapchat says it only takes one business day for the filters to be approved.

Leveraging science, technology helps farmers thrive – Las Cruces Sun-News

LAS CRUCES -Imagine being able to individually monitor every single plant across many fields of crops to determine its specific water and nutrient needs on a given day; or recycling thousands of gallons of agricultural waste water back into 100 percent pure drinking water. These are the things that Wes Richins, owner of SCALE Ag Services of Las Cruces, thinks about as hes developing products to help his agricultural customers be successful.

Richins has spent his life in agriculture. After growing up on a farm, he earned an agricultural business degree at New Mexico State University, worked at WR Grace, and spent 18 years at Agriliance (now WinField) before launching his own agricultural supply business. Eleven years later, hes built a thriving company that sells macro- and micro-nutrients, soil amendments, seeds and other products to farms throughout the western U.S. and internationally.

However, Richins focus is not limited to supplies. Hes also on the constant lookout to find next-generation techniques and tools to help his customers address emerging trends that can impact their business.

A Phytech dendrometer, set up by SCALE Ag Services, is pictured here in on of the pecan orchards owned by Frank Paul Salopek and Sons Farms. The hardware helps monitor the micro-variations of trunk radius within there microns, helping farmers gauge water usage in orchards. Wednesday May 24, 2017.(Photo: Josh Bachman/Sun-News)

Most recently, Richins has added crop stress monitoring technology to the SCALE Ags product line, partly inspired by his own farming experience. Wed planted some seed and when the yield didnt turn out as expected, the supplier told us it was because of water management, he said. That aggravated me; from everything I could see, we had good water management. I got to thinking there had to be a better way to view and manage whats happening in the field.

After doing some research, he found and became a distributor for PhyTech, a plant monitoring system that uses sensors to capture individual plant data and upload it in a real-time data stream to the farmer. The data helps to determine how much water, nutrition and light is needed for specific plants, if theyre stressed, and what they need for the best growing conditions. The system even has a component that will predict the next weeks weather conditions, said Heather Bedale, SCALE Ags PhyTech product manager.

SCALE Ag began selling the PhyTech system in Februaryto customers in the southwest U.S. and Mexico.

Heather Bedale, with SCALE Ag Services, explains how the Phytech system collects data from the dendrometer sensors on the pecan trees in the Frank Paul Salopek and Sons farms orchard and sends it to a cloud database system where the Salopeks can review how much moister is in the soil and trees. Wednesday May 23, 2017.(Photo: Josh Bachman/Sun-News)

Richins also believes that water management is going to become one, if not the most crucial element that farmers will be dealing with in the future, and hes already investing resources to understand what that will specifically mean to his customers and their community. Water management tools that help plant utilization of water and nutrients are going to be ever more important as time goes on, he said.

With this in mind, he is working closely with Enviro Water Minerals Company, an El Paso-based firm that has developed new technology to reclaim agricultural waste water and turn it into drinking water. EWCs first plant, which is about to go online, will return 2.2 million gallons of drinking water to the city that they didnt have, he said. and with PhyTech, we will be to enhance the utilization of the water assets we have today.

Wes Richins, owner of Scale Ag Services, holds a Phytech dendrometer, a water monitoring system. Wednesday May 24, 2017.(Photo: Josh Bachman/Sun-News)

Another benefit of the reclamation process is that it extracts elements such as high-grade gypsum out of the reclaimed waste water that can be reused in farming. The process is yielding nearly 99.9 percent pure gypsum, which can be used as a fertilizer and a salt mitigation product in the fields, said Richins. So were taking a product that was being disposed of and reclaiming it, so it can be applied to the soil to make it healthier.

He is also working to bring humic acid, another product used for salt mitigation and increasing micro-nutrient availability in soil, to his customers. We also have a sugar alcohol system developed by Brandt, he said, Its like taking a hypodermic needle and sticking it into a leaf so the nutrients are rapidly metabolized in the plant with no energy loss.

Richins takes a farmers first focus in everything he considers. He wants his customers to know that they wont get cookie cutter answers when they call SCALE Ag for help. He has built a team of agricultural specialists who have in-depth knowledge to address a range of issues. One such expert is Beland, who brings a masters degree in agricultural biology and statistics, and considerable research experience to the company. Another is Derek Davidson, who grew up on Silver Farms in San Miguel and earned an agriculture degree at NMSU before joining Scale Ag.

We spend a lot of time talking to individual farmers, Richins said. We want them to know that were here to do the research and help them find the right solution for their specific needs.

Once upon a time, itwas 80s/90s superstar Madonna who was the queen of transformations.

Oneweek she'd look like a virgin, the next, er, she wouldn't.

But now in 2017, it would appear that Little Mix star Jesy Nelson is the pop songstress who is constantly surprising us with her amazing new looks.

If it's not her sassy attire, it's her immaculately applied make up that sends us and her fans into a spinof delight.

Week in week out, Jesy manages to pull off a different look that sends her fans wold (Credit: Instagram)

And over the weekend, it was no differentas the stylish young miss was happily flaunting her most extremelook yet that had us all talking.

The svelte starlet was appearingwith her bandmates at Capital's Summertime Ball and caused a sensation in a stunning outfit (below).

At first glance her high-waisted jeans and white lace-up top combo might notlook all that spectacular.

But when you peek a little closer, you'll see that she has pulled off a masterpiece.

This image had fas in a dither - just look at loose those jeans are! (Credit: Instagram)

Yes, look at that toned waistand you can see that herjeans are literally hanging off her!

She's either getting slimmer by the minute or she's slipped onher boyfriend's jeans by mistake, because they look like they are a size too large.

But the one question on our mind is,how on earth has she managed to keep them up?

Has she stapled them to her body? Is she wearing some kind of sticky tape that keeps them from hitting the floor?

Who knows? All we can say is she looks utterly stunning.

But that wasn't all. The Little Mixeralso used the Summertime Ball to showcase yet another stunning new hair colour.

Jesy also showcased yet another new hair colour - this time candy floss pin (Credit: Instagram)

This time - a week after she went blonde at Radio 1's Big Weekend - she debuted ahead full of pastel pink locks.

"The pink hair is slaying me," another giddily added.

Meanwhile, concern has grown over a mysteryblack smudge Jesy was seen sporting on her pancake flat tum in a recent upload.

Can you see it? Fans were concerned about the odd black blemish (Credit: Instagram)

Fans noticed the strange blemish on a pic on Instagram last month and asked Jesy what it was- though Jesy is yetto put her concerned fans' minds at ease.

However, many think it couldjust be a trick of the light.

Of course, Jesy is no stranger to posting pictures of herself and - as vain as it may seem -youcan see why she is hooked.

Take all steps for fair auction: Amarinder to mining dept – Daily News & Analysis

After the cancellation of the mining e-auction slated for June 11, Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh has directed the mining department to take all steps to ensure fair and transparent sale of the 56 mines in question.

The fresh bidding will now be conducted in the first week of July.

The mining department yesterday announced cancellation of the June 11 e-auction of 56 sand mines due to failure of some bidders to upload necessary documents.

A fresh notification for the e-auction of these mines would be issued next week, with a stringent check list to be provided online for strict compliance by the prospective bidders, an official spokesperson said today.

The check list has been formulated keeping in mind all the relevant conditions necessary to ensure impartial dealing through the entire auction process, said the spokesperson, adding that the chief minister had made it clear that any deviation from norms would be dealt with strictly.

The chief minister is himself keeping a close watch on the auction related activities, which will be monitored, as in the earlier case, by neutral and independent officials, from the judiciary and other departments.

Reiterating his government's commitment to total transparency in the progressive bidding for the mines, which will further augment the supply of sand and stabilise its prices in the state, he has asked the concerned officials to keep a tight control on the auction process.

No laxity in this regard would be tolerated, the chief minister has warned, underlining his zero tolerance to corruption and his commitment to completely eliminating sand mafia from the state.

While registering for the participation in e-auction, the bidder will have to ensure that all the conditions in the tender document are strictly adhered to, the spokesperson said.

The bidders have been asked to upload their documents as per the requirement of tender document in future.

In case of any confusion or doubt, the tender document can be referred to on the website http://www.investpunjab.gov.in or the prospective bidder may contact the help desk number, the spokesperson said.

The department has already initiated the steps for refund of the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of the bidders who had applied for the June 11 auction and the same shall be completed by June 13.

E3 Spotlight: Bethesda, Fallout 4 VR, DOOM VR And (Possibly) Skyrim VR – UploadVR

While my first experience with VR was in the mid-90s with the VFX-1, my introduction to the latest round of VR devices was at E3 2012 when John Carmack showed Doom 3 in VR at the Bethesda booth on a newly-announced but not-yet-released HMD called the Oculus Rift, which was little more than a motion-tracking display duct-taped to an elastic ski goggle strap. The refresh rate was slow and the resulting experience was slightly nauseating if you spent more than a few minutes in the headset, but even then I understood what this new tech was going to mean to gaming, as well as to myriad other industries.

Bethesda was one of the earliest supporters of VR development, so its no surprise that they have made some of the most-anticipated VR game announcements to date, most notably Fallout 4 VR and Doom VR, which were both announced at its E3 2016 press conference. Since AAA games are so resource-intensive and therefore economically risky to develop, many of the big early VR gaming experiences are going to be translations of existing titles, but thats not so bad when youre talking about some of the deepest, most fun and engaging gaming experiences of all time.

Another year, another E3, so what can we expect from Bethesda at this years show?

Bethesdas press conference is on Sunday, June 11 at 6:30pm Pacific, and we know Fallout 4 VR is going to be a big part of that presentation. We played Fallout 4 VR extensively last year, but its been 12 months since weve seen the games progress, so we expect a huge leap this year in terms of what Bethesda is showing as Fallout 4 will undoubtedly be the VR highlight at Bethesdas presser.

While Fallout 4 is the only VR title that Bethesda has confirmed will be at the show at this time, theres no doubt in my mind that theyll have at least one other VR-related announcement at the show, and perhaps two or more others.

My guess is Bethesda will focus on the Vive version during the conference, but will announce Fallout 4 is coming to PSVR, and the PSVR version will have a bigger showing at the PlayStation conference on Monday. Teleport was the only locomotion system available in the E3 2016 demo, but Bethesda has made it clear that Fallout 4 VR will be the full game with various locomotion options, so we fully expect to try some of those variants at E3. Im particularly curious to see if the game will support full locomotion. Its personally what I would want out of an experience like Fallout to make it as immersive as possible, but well have to see if its plausible in such a vast world without making the average player feel like theyve had one too many rum and Nuka colas.

We havent heard anything definitive at this point, but I would also expect to get an update on Doom VR at the show, as well as get some hands-on time with a new playable level. While Doom was little more than a tech demo last year, Ive seen plenty of games in various stages of development over the years, and I have no doubt Doom VR will be a full-blown experience with deep gameplay.

The biggest surprise for everyone would be if Bethesda dropped the Megaton and said that Fallout 4 VR was available tonight, just like they did with the Fallout Shelter mobile game in 2015. I could see it happening, but I think its more realistic that Bethesda will announce a release date later in 2017, so at least we wont have to wait that long to play.

While recent rumors suggest Bethesda is working on Skyrim VR, the same rumors also report Bethesda may not show it at E3. Personally, I at least expect a mention. Since Fallout 4 and Skyrim run on the same engine, the translation work Bethesda has already done for Fallout 4 VR would make Skyrim VR a natural candidate for a relatively easy transition into virtual reality well at least easier than building a game of that scale from the ground up and honestly I think a VR sword-swinging, bow-shooting, medieval dungeon crawler will be even more popular than the apocalyptic setting of Fallout.

Whatever happens, Fallout 4, Skyrim and Doom are the kinds of games that will be killer apps for VR, and will sell VR units as gamers look for the most immersive experience. I cant wait for E3 to begin!

What do you think Bethesda will show at E3 2017? Let us know in the comments below!

SOBO Couple end their engagement after the groom refuses to post their Pre-wedding shoot on Facebook – Firstpost (satire)

Mumbai: It was a tough time for Jivan and Rivanas family. With just a month left for the big day, their children have decided to call off their wedding after a 5 year long and happy relationship. Relatives called from everywhere to offer their good wishes and support through the crucial time.

It was all going great recalls Rivanas father. They were the kind of couple that just agreed on everything. They really loved and supported each other. They also went to Maldives for their pre-wedding photoshoot where they spent some quality time together. Jivan was like a son to us. But, once they were back, he revealed his true colours. He adamantly refused to upload the pre-wedding photoshoot on Facebook. Rivana tried to reason with him. She even begged and pleaded but, he just refused to co-operate.

He went on to share his story on how they spent a large amount of time and money to get the photoshoot done right. They even got the Angel found her Demon themed designer dresses better than any of the ones used for their relatives childrens wedding shoots. Rivana and Jivana in fact, practised really hard to get the candid poses right. But, Jivans actions just put all their efforts down the drain. Rivana is heartbroken. She has deactivated her Facebook account and isnt even following her diet. She had just managed to knock off 5 kgs, sighs Rivanas mother.

Jivans family on the other hand is quite upset with their inlaws actions. Jivans mother quips Do they really think that we did not want to put the pre-wedding shoot on Facebook as well? Jivan is our only son. We had big dreams for his wedding too. His father and I have a total of 4000 friends on Facebook. But, if Jivan took such a big decsion, there must have been an important reason behind this. They acted immaturely and just called it off. They should have spoken to us and tried to convince him to atleast put up the pictures. But, they just directly updated their status on FB.

But, why did Jivan do such an insensitive thing? Amidst all the chaos, we had a rare chance to speak to the sombre groom himself. I just didnt want Rivana and myself to be publicly humiliated. Our best friends just posted their pre-wedding video and received 25,000 likes. Jivana and me together dont even have 15,000 friends on Facebook. We could never catch up with them, inspite of splurging more and being a better looking couple. I was just trying to protect her pride and integrity. I didnt want her to feel depressed just a month before her wedding. She totally misunderstood me. He is leaving for his best friends Bachelor party to Vegas tonight. Maybe that will help take my mind off things.

Meanwhile, we couldnt get in touch with Rivana. Her Facebook updates show she is on a trip to Prague to cope with this difficult phase in her life and consider her lifes decisions.

5 steps to make your phone or tablet an in-flight entertainment center – CNET

Plane trips can be long, but it's now pretty easy to take entertainment with you to pass the time.

Traveling to a new place is exciting. But you know what's not exciting? Sitting in a cramped seat on a long flight to your vacation while staring out the window bored to death. And that movie that airline is showing? You've seen it and hated it.

But there is a better option. With just a phone, tablet or laptop that you already have, you could put together a robust in-flight entertainment system that will be the envy of other passengers scrambling to pass the time. (Keep in mind that depending on your destination, there is a chance that you might only be allowed to bring a phone onboard your flight).

See this story and others in the Summer 2017 issue of CNET Magazine.

With this five-step process, you can make a binge-watching machine that will serve you on anything from a short hop to an international flight across the ocean.

First I'd recommend freeing up storage, as movies and TV shows take a lot of room (usually several hundred megabytes a pop). This step isn't quite as necessary if you'll be taking a laptop with a healthy hard drive, but on a phone or tablet it could win you space for a downloaded movie and a sequel.

Start by taking an audit of your apps and deleting those you haven't used in a while or the apps you won't need for your vacation (you can download them again when you get home). If you aren't sure where to start, check the Storage section of your device's Settings to find a full list of your apps and how much space they take up.

If your phone runs Android, you may have a screen like this that shows you how much space is on your phone.

Next, back up your photos and videos to either your computer or your favorite online photo service (free ones include Google Photos, Yahoo's Flickr and Dropbox). These services are also handy while you're on your trip, as they'll let you back up your camera roll any time you can get a reliable Wi-Fi signal. Then you can purge old files off your phone and keep on snapping new photos of your trip.

Watching movies on an airplane isn't new, but your ability to pick exactly the content you want has expanded greatly over the past decade. Originally, you had to rely on your airline to choose films for you and watch them on a faraway screen, or on a tiny screen in the seat ahead of you. Later, iTunes and other digital stores brought more selection, but since you had to buy (or rent) each title individually, the price of a few films could add up quickly.

For a smaller bite out of your wallet, just use the same video subscription services you're using at home. There's no extra fee and all you need to do is download the service's app to your device.

Services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube Red give you two options for vacation binge-watching: Download the content from their extensive video libraries to your device or stream it. The big advantage of downloading is that once the content is on your device, you can keep watching even when you're offline.

But downloading isn't without its pitfalls. As I mentioned, videos take up a lot of space and I'd recommend downloading your videos only while you still have a reliable Wi-Fi connection at home. Hotel Wi-Fi generally isn't fast enough (a single film could take hours) and don't even think about using that precious cellular data you have to buy when going abroad. If you find you are running tight on space on your mobile device, you might be able to use an additional device like a laptop to share the load (Netflix's downloadable videos are also available using its Windows 10 app). Also, not every movie and TV episode that you can stream can be downloaded to a device.

Streaming content won't eat up storage on your device, but a reliable Wi-Fi connection isn't just nice to have, it's required. Even when in-flight Wi-Fi is available, it's usually not fast enough to allow streaming. Some airlines are beginning to introduce faster satellite Wi-Fi that permits streaming, so check with your carrier first.

Spotify is one of many music services that offer a giant library of songs that can be downloaded to a phone or tablet.

Whether you buy your music from digital stores like iTunes or pay a monthly fee to stream it from Spotify, you can take it with you wherever you're going.

My favorite music app, Google Play Music, combines both methods. You can upload up to 50,000 songs to the service for free. Then, you can use the Play Music app on iOS or Android to stream from your personal library or download those songs to a different device. For $10 a month in the US (10 in the UK, AU$12 in Australia), the service lets you stream or download from its entire music catalog, including the YouTube Red video service.

Most similar music services, such as Spotify, Amazon Music Unlimited and Tidal, also let you download songs to listen for offline listening. And if you're an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can stream or download from a smaller catalog of songs that still includes many popular tracks.

If your public library is affiliated with the OverDrive service, you can download that app and borrow books and audiobooks for free. While the titles will expire off of your device when the lending period is over, you can often pick 14-day and 21-day periods that should last your trip. Most library ebooks can also be downloaded to Amazon's Kindle app, or you can try the Kindle Unlimited service, which has a library of 1 million books and thousands of audiobooks, for a 30-day trial or $10 per month (8, AU$14).

Once you are set up, take your device onto your flight and watch away.

When you arrive at your destination, delete all of the media you downloaded and use the space for your new vacation photos. Then at the end of your trip, find a good Wi-Fi signal and start this whole process over again: Upload the pics, delete them from your device and download some entertainment for your flight back. Happy travels!

This story appears in the Summer 2017 edition of CNET Magazine.

Mike Sorrentino (@MikeJSorrentino) is an associate editor at CNET. He happened to be in an airport the morning Netflix announced its downloadable video collection, minutes before his cross-country flight home. The airport Wi-Fi got him a few episodes of "Chelsea" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" before he had to board.

Wolsky: Let’s change how elections work – Minot Daily News

If Minot City Council candidate Josh Wolsky has his way, Minot and then hopefully other places will experience a transformation in the way elections are conducted. That change starts at home for Wolsky.

Well, I dont have a campaign budget per se, he says. Im not putting out any yard signs, although a few people have volunteered to make signs and put them up. I think that if one runs a good public campaign, it will pay off in the election.

That public campaign is one based on well-communicated policy positions and ideas, things he feels elections often lack. Id like to see money out of politics completely, Wolsky says. Candidates buy influence with advertising dollars, so (the status quo) benefits the media.

It should come as little surprise to people who have known Wolsky that he should take such a maverick position. Hes taken a nonlinear path back to his native Minot and right into the heart of civic affairs, including his uncommon campaign style.

Still, colorful trails are in Wolskys blood. The Minot native is proud of his family history in the area. My great-grandfather from Norway walked here, or rather when he reached the end of the line in Fargo, he walked the rest of the way and homesteaded here.

Wolsky grew up and graduated school in a Minot with challenges similar to those today.

Growing up here, there was a problem in retaining young people and their talent in Minot, Wolsky recalls. There are these amazing people from Minot off in other parts of the world. Theyre products of Minot work ethics and values but arent here. Twenty-five years later, were still talking about it. I dont think we have made a lot of progress. The community cant afford to continue exporting its human resources.

Wolsky headed off to the University of Delaware where he would earn a degree in Economics. Afterwards, he spent a year in Arizona and several more in Charleston, South Carolina, chasing the dream of playing professional golf while supporting myself by working as a caddie and later on with a putting green construction business, he says.

In Charleston, Wolsky says he was able to have a ringside seat as the city experienced a renaissance, from which he feels he learned a great deal. When the lure of family brought him back to Minot in 2008, he returned with plans to develop websites for business owners and to help them take good steps in creating and controlling their online identity.

Like many people, the 2011 flood had an impact on Wolsky.

In the spring of 2011, I started paying more attention to the City of Minot in reaction to what I saw as a clear threat, Wolsky says. As I witnessed the city response to the threat, I became frustrated.

Wolsky launched a website that provided information on what would become the 2011 flood as the threat progressed complete with water level details, forecasts, etc. Im no hydrologist, but it wasnt too hard to get information and share it.

Then, June 2011 happened and in the aftermath, Wolskys website, The Minot Voice, became his priority. I believed there needed to be a place for the community to discuss issues, Wolsky says. It was developed as a place to have discussions and to spur discussions.

Later, a 2.0 version of the website was established, where Wolsky said he published a piece on how different city governments were structured and which polled site visitors. In four days, he says there were 1,300 responses.

The poll showed huge distrust in government not just the usual distrust in government, Wolsky says. In my mind, that was really the beginning of #MakeMinot.

#MakeMinot is, of course, the citizens group that launched and catered through voter approval and now, with this election, implementation, the structural change to the city council. Wolsky has been an integral part of the group since.

#MakeMinot was always about the system, Wolsky says.

In this election cycle, The Minot Voice (now version 3.0) has been a platform for candidates to address questions and share their policy positions. Wolsky says most candidates have participated. Furthermore, it is a component of perhaps example of the changes he would like to see in how campaigns operate.

The important concept is to give people a choice and with information, you can trust people to make a choice, he says. Im a systems guy. Part of that is a product of an education in economics. Part of it is that my dad was an entrepreneur. When you see the world through that lens, you see systems.

Wolsky makes clear that The Minot Voice is not a campaign website and that he has distanced himself from giving out information on candidates. Instead, candidates have been able to log in and upload their own opinions and reflections. He says he isnt selling advertising to candidates either.

This might turn out to be one of the worst business decisions I have ever made, an affable Wolsky quips.

Of course, the same might be true of Wolskys low-key approach to his campaign.

Honestly I would probably rather go to the lake, he says. But I do feel I am one of the better informed individuals in town and go to meetings and have ideas about where the community could go and how to get there plus the context of how we got to where we are. Those are the kind of things that elections should really be about.

H-metro resolves to protect content by converting text to images: this is why it won’t work – Technology Zimbabwe

Desperate situations do call for desperate measures I agree, but sometimes desperate measures can really prove to be futile. So is the case with H-Metro. H-Metro has been employing numerous tactics of trying to combat piracy and the most recent one is uploading content as images rather than text. I know the issue of piracy is a big problem in this industry and there hasnt been any viable breakthrough that I know of yet, but this resolution actually presents more problems than it solves anything. Lets go through why

So for starters, the idea is bad in that it will not help their SEO since images cannot be read by the Google search crawler and therefore, Google wont know that they have the content.

With everyone getting their news online, its great that H-Metro is online, however presenting their news as images defeats the purpose. Im saying this because for a while H-Metro wasnt actually online, forthis same issue of piracy. Them making a decision to come online is therefore positive. They just need to do it the right way.

Fine, say H-Metro doesnt really mind not having a good onlinepresence, all they want is their content protected but thats still problematic because of the existence of software such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR). OCR software recognises the text on images and PDFs which can then be extracted and converted into editableWord, Excel and Text output formats. And at the end of the day, you realise you really havent done much to address the problem.

Again, this piracy problem has driven H-Metro to upload their content later in the day after most media houses have alreadypublished. But then again, that still is a problem because some online news platforms likeiHarareandNehanda Radio(which basically steals news fromother sites and then protects it the irony!)actually manage to upload H-Metros content before H-Metro itself can.

How? The simplest assumption wed rather go with is that the content thieves buy the H-Metro hardcopy and transfer (by scanning and converting to text) the information contained onto their sites. And of course there was no way H-metro cangamble by delaying their hardcopy too I mean who buys newspaper in the evening??

Anyway, using this logic, youll discover that the new strategy of converting text to images does not help the case since content thieves still have access to the hardcopy.

So in essence: H-Metros new resolutionwill only lead to more frustration and complications rather than solve the initial problem.

Revamped Guildford Village opens tomorrow – Eagle Radio

It is a big day in Guildford tomorrow - as the revamped Village shopping and events site is relaunched.

The space in the town centre has been overhauled after the previous pop up concept closed earlier than expected back in January.

At the time, the council blamed the closure on the current retail climate and bad weather.

This time, it is a more permanent feature - with stalls and an events programme throughout the year.

It is now named The Village, Guildford.

Guildford Borough Council says it is no longer a pop-up site but offers a longer-term opportunity with a flexible, different space for retailers, traders and entertainment.

The site, near the Friary Centre, between Commercial and Woodbridge Roads, will also feature a stage area, an open public space and seating.

A mix of food concessions serving street food, retail outlets and a licensed bar will also be available.

Each week there will be themed events and activities, including food festivals, film nights, live music, live big screen showing of summer sporting events, a car show, community and arts events as well as day time activities for all the family.

The Village will also have free WiFi for visitors to use.

It will be open each week from Wednesday through to Sunday until December.

Christmas Pop-UpVillage being constructed last year

The Village opens with a street parade tomorrow which starts in the High Street at 10.30am before making its way to the Village by 11am.

Egbert the Eagle will also be joining in - along with the Eagle Radio Love Crew.

The parade will also include a giant puppet called Eartha Queen of the earth, characters from Alice through the Looking Glass and The Wizard of Oz.

Eagle Radio will be there - we will be broadcasting the launch live from the site.

In the evening, Kane FM's House of Dice will be playing electronic music from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Over the weekend there will be fun-packed free entertainment, makeand take sessions, aeroball, free prize draws, face painting and giveaways.

Lead Councillor for Economic Development, Tourism and Climate Change, Cllr David Bilbe says:We want to provide residents and visitors with a new and unique venue in which to shop, eat and enjoy themselves.

It continues to be important that we are able to provide an opportunity for local business and new start-ups to develop and grow.

"This type of new offering takes time to establish and we have improved the Village to make better use of this dynamic space ahead of the proposed redevelopment of lower North Street.

Eagle Radio's Peter Gordon from the Breakfast Show says: "Eagle Radio is delighted to have been asked to help promote the launch of The Village its so important that a town like Guildford keeps its mind open to progressive ideas, especially when they are aimed at generating a feeling of community. We feel that people should give The Village a real chance of helping towards generating that feeling. Were looking forward to being there for the launch!

Nick White, Head of Youth & Education at theYvonne Arnaud Theatre says:"We are delighted to have been asked by Guildford Borough Council to perform at the launch of the events programme of The Village. The Yvonne Arnaud Youth Theatres summer production The Wizard of Oz, is following the yellow brick road to Guildfords very own Emerald City. Join us on Sundayat11am, 1 and 3.30pmto meet cast members and watchperformances from our upcoming, main stage, production."

Comment: Siri and HomePod will likely remain behind competing IAs, but there’s a reason for that – 9to5Mac

Siri has come under fresh attack today, with former members of Apples intelligent assistant team stating that it still lags behind its rivals despite the announcement of HomePod and improvements introduced in iOS 11.

Independent tests of the main IA systems also tend to bear this out, especially when it comes to personalization. Both Google Home and Amazon Echo have a better understanding than Siri of who we are and what we are likely to want.

The thing is, this isnt coincidence and doesnt come without a cost

Google is the master when it comes to big data. Many live almost their entire digital lives on Google. They conduct their web searches on Google. Send & receive email in Gmail. Schedule everything they do in Google Calendar. Upload all their photos through the Google Photos app. Read news stories via Google News. Search for products in Google Shopping. Use Google Translate while travelling. Upload their documents to Google Drive.

If you do all of this, Google gets to learn a massive amount about you and your life. Google services are able to use all of this data to be incredibly proactive in the way that they assist you. If you receive an email confirmation of a flight booking, for example, Google can add this to your calendar and based on your current location prompt you when its time to leave for the airport, all without you doing a thing.

So its no surprise that Google Home is smarter than Siri: it takes advantage of all the data it has to compile a comprehensive digital picture of who you are. Amazon Echo knows less about you, but if you do much of your shopping on Amazon, it still knows quite a lot.

Now that Apple is pitching in with its own speaker, the difference in capabilities of the three IA systems will come into even clearer focus.

Given the comprehensive nature of the Apple ecosystem, Apple could choose to go down the same route as Google. It could use all of the data it has about me, tie Siri queries to my Apple ID and deliver the same level of intelligence and proactive suggestions as Google Home. If it did so, nobody would be saying that Siri lags significantly behind Googles IA.

But Apple makes adeliberate choice not to do so. When I ask Siri a question, my iPhone doesnt attach my Apple ID to my query so that Siris servers can make contextual sense of it. All that is sent is a random identifier that cannot be linked to my identity in any way. The random identifier is used to help Siri learn my voice: it doesnt know who I am, but it knows that my query came from (say) person 7582066701, and it can check back over six months to match my query against my voice file to better understand what I actually said.

Whenever you speak into Apples voice activated personal digital assistant, it ships it off to Apples data farm for analysis. Apple generates a random numbers to represent the user and it associates the voice files with that number. This number not your Apple user ID or email address represents you as far as Siris back-end voice analysis system is concerned.

Once the voice recording is six months old, Apple disassociates your user number from the clip, deleting the number from the voice file. But it keeps these disassociated files for up to 18 more months for testing and product improvement purposes.

Thats a huge difference in approach. Apple protects my privacy, but delivers a less helpful service. Google and Amazon make better assistants, but they know exactly who I am when I ask a question or issue a command.

I dont think either approach is right or wrong. So long as companies are upfront about what they do with my data, Im happy to weigh up the pros & cons and make my own decision about how much privacy Im willing to sacrifice in order to take advantage of a particular service.

But I also recognize that Im in a somewhat privileged position when it comes to making that choice. I dont live in a country with a repressive regime (even if governments of late have taken us rather further in that direction than I would like). I dont have any business, political or religious affiliations that would put me on anyones radar. Im boringly law-abiding, saving my criminal enterprises for works offiction.I dont have any concerns that my government has any interest in surveilling me.

Apple knows that not everyone is as fortunate. The company chooses to err strongly on the side of privacy, no matter how much pressureis placed upon it, and Im glad that it does so. Im glad that option exists.

Will I ever switch IA platforms to take advantage of the greater power offered by a service which knows more about me? Maybe. But either way, I want that choice to exist, and right now Apple is the only player to offer the option of uncompromised privacy.

What are your own views? Is Apple right to favour privacy over power? Or would you prefer Apple to take the Google path, and use everything the company knows about you to deliver much more personalized Siri responses? As always, please take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.

The Photographer Capturing the New York You’ve Never Noticed – Artsy

While others on the street are staring at their smartphones, King is looking up, capturing the sculptures that ever-so-subtly change the space all around us, uploading the images to his Instagram, collecting them in books (his third, Figures in Stone, is on shelves now) or spotlighting them in exhibitions. His latest show on City Islandwhich sits just off mainland Bronx in the Long Island sound, and where he now lives after spending most of his life in Harlemopened June 2nd.

Our hour-long walking tour begins at a building at 181st Street and Fort Washington Avenue. Most buildings with interesting stone details date back to between 1850 and 1930; this ones smog-stained facade has seen better days, but a line of stone figures had caught Kings attention as he traveled to a nearby renovation job.

Sometimes I feel like these details talk to me, King says. He means it. What else besides a very interesting conversation could keep him photographing for decades? King began his hobby while taking a class on women in photography. His teacher gave an unusual assignment: Capture the image of women he didnt know. King felt too awkward photographing strangers, so turned his camera to women carved in stone instead. I got an A, he said, with a smile.

The PlayPlad Is A New Gear VR Controller With A Brilliant Name – UploadVR

Never mind that fancy new motion controller thats being bundled with Gear VR; accessory company Nyko thinks it has the definitive new controller for Samsungs mobile headset. Meet the PlayPlad VR.

No, that wasnt a typo.

As goofy as a name that may be, the PlayPlad VR actually has a pretty neat gimmick to it. When youre not using your headset, this slate-like controller slots into the front of your Gear VR, just as your phone does. That way you can carry both around without forgetting about one or the other. This is an officially licensed product for the device that will let you play any of the gamepad compatible games that have come to the platform over the past few years.

Elsewhere, the PlayPlad (nope, still not a typo) features the usual array of face and directional buttons, as well as four buttons on the shoulders and two on the back of the device. Two sliders give you analogue stick-like control. It connects to any Samsung phone as well as previous versions of the Gear VR and uses the Android HID controller protocol so you dont need to map any buttons.

Nyko will be showing the controlled at E3 next week, and itll go on sale later this year for $49.99.

While Gear VR content will likely skew towards the new motion controller in the future, there are still games like Dreadhalls and Herobound that are worth seeking out with a gamepad.

Instagram couple removes nude photo at Bagan after Myanmar netizens report them – Coconuts

A cached version of bumaroundtheworlds Instagram before they removed the Bagan photo

You know, considering that Bagan is literally strewn with signs warning foreigners of dressing inappropriately, you would think that theyd get the hint. However, it seems as though at least one foreigner went screw it, and decided to do away with clothing altogether.

Yesterday, model Warso Moe Oo drew attention to the Instagram account cheekyexploits which, as the name suggests, displays photos of people baring their butts. While we didnt realize there was an entire part of the internet dedicated to such a bizarre hobby, theres obviously no harm done, right? Well, there wouldnt be, except a recent post shows a white woman baring her butt in what is supposedly Bagan, according to their geotag.

A few hours later, the account removed the location information, but not before the original post, complete with the Nyaung-U geotag, was screenshotted (remember kids, this is the internet).

According to the cheekyexploits caption, the picture was submitted byanother account called bumaroundtheworld (side note: who knew there were so many butt accounts on Instagram?), which is run by a couple who quit our jobs to travel the world together and upload photos of their butts from each of the places they visit. Why? Who knows?

Although theres no geotag on bumaroundtheworlds original post either, it did have the hashtags #seasia and #travelasia, which would make sense if it was taken in Myanmar. They first uploaded the photo on May 12, but it was only reposted on cheekyexploits on Monday.

The couple also seems to have taken a naked picture in front of a waterfall in another part of the country, although its unclear where. One Myanmar Instagram user commented, Before many angry Burmese come and curse at you guys, as a first Burmese I would like to say COOL! And please dont mind when some butt hurts come and cruse [sic] you.

Under Warso Moe Oos post, several users echoed the models sentiments. One wrote, Would they dare to do this in Mecca or at the Vatican? This is extremely insulting. Another commented, Its okay to take photos in Bagan, but taking a photo like this in a sacred Buddhist place is crossing the line.

On the other hand, it seems thatsome found the act too ridiculous to even be insulted. One user who shared the post joked, Maybe this is why lately Ive really been itching to go to Bagan.

However, it seems that both bumaroundtheworld and cheekyexploits have realized that what they did could potentially land them in hot water, as both sites have taken down the picture, with the former completely disabling their comments as well.

In 2015, several tourists were arrested byCambodian authorities after having similar naked photoshoots at the Angkor Archaeological Park. Experts have saidthat the act of taking nude photos in a foreign country referred to as naked tourism and especially in a location where they know such actions are prohibited, is indicative of less-experienced travelers. Speaking to the Phnom Penh Post at the time, Professor of Tourism at Queenslands James Cook University Philip Pearce noted: It is a clever twist on the theme of achievement and I am/have been here statements by also proclaiming I am liberated and can break the rules in an exotic place.

Come on, guys if even Vogue Korea couldnt get away with a Bagan temple fashion shoot, what made you think this was acceptable? To all future visitors we cant believe we have to say this, but please keep your butts (and several other parts of your body) covered at all times, at least while in public.
