Surprise! Illinois "temporary" Tax Hikes now likely to be "Permanent"

From Eric Dondero:

The massive increase in corporate and income taxes passed through the Democrat-controlled legislature in January, and signed into law by ultra-liberal/statist Dem Governor Pat Quinn, will now likely be permanent. They were sold to the public as a "temporary measure."

But Republicans in the State, the few that are in the Legislature, are fighting back.

From NewLennoxPatch.com "Illinois Income Tax Hike Will Be Permanent Without Deeper Cuts, Warns Sen. Christine Radogno":

Republican leaders will present a package of cuts this week designed to erase the $5 billion-dollar hole in the state budget and prevent a $22 billion-dollar deficit by 2016. Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont), who represents a swath of southwest suburbs, said the governor's budget plan will also force the 67 percent tax hike to become a permanent one.

She said the Republican cuts will be presented this week. The governor's office expressed doubt the GOP could find that much to cut.

Letter Writer compares libertarianism to "Dog eat Dog" Naziism

libertarian Tea Party takeover of GOP caused him to leave the Party

From Eric Dondero:

A rather absurd featured letter to the editor at The Daily Herald, Maury County, TN, (excerpted) March 10:

I am a Kentucky native, a former tobacco man... now a historian.

I am writing this letter to every tobacco market town where I worked, because nearly everyone that I met on the tobacco markets were good people, with a highly developed Christian sense of right and wrong and concern for their fellow human beings.

I am 52 years old, and for 33 of those years I was a Republican. I quit the party in disgust after the Tea Party hijacked it. Most thinking people who have analyzed it agree that the Tea Party is a bizarre mix of the fundamentalist Christian Right and Libertarianism. Christians’ support for the Tea Party is inexplicable; unless it is that they do not know what its core Libertarian values really are.

In a “free” Libertarian society, there would be no Social Security, no unemployment compensation, and no tax funded public schools. In short there would be no “welfare” of any kind; every individual, no matter what their age, disability or hard luck, would be left to fend for themselves.

Though masked with rhetoric that proclaims a commitment to personal freedom and individual responsibility, Libertarian socio-economic philosophy is vicious in concept, predicated on brutal dog-eat-dog Social Darwinism. It is morally indefensible.

If this seems chillingly familiar, it should: Rothbard merely reformulated the logic used by the Nazis to justify the killing by starvation of several thousand handicapped German children into Libertarian terms. Good people in Germany failed to see the Nazis’ true colors until it was too late. Many who supported the Nazis’ rise to power later claimed that they thought what Hitler said in Mein Kampf was merely rhetoric, and did not think that the Nazis really intended to put it into practice. Americans dare not make the same mistake with the Tea Party.

Top Liberal website slams Michele Bachmann for historical mistake: Major typo in their report

It's New Hampshire with a 'P'

From Eric Dondero:

Jeff Neumann, Editor of Gawker titles his article: "Michele Bachmann Doesn’t Know Much About History." But Neumann doesn't appear to know much about the correct spelling of one of the 50 States.

Jeff Neumann — No one has ever accused Tea Partiers of being especially bright, but Michele Bachmann blew it pretty hard today in New Hamshire. She was speaking to the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire when she got some important Revolutionary War facts wrong:

"What I love about New Hampshire and what we have in common is our extreme love for liberty," the potential GOP presidential candidate said. "You're the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord. And you put a marker in the ground and paid with the blood of your ancestors the very first price that had to be paid to make this the most magnificent nation that has ever arisen in the annals of man in 5,000 years of recorded history."

Ironically, the Republican Liberty Caucus has received a great deal of major web media over this flap, on a number of top liberal sites.

Hussain Al-Hussaini, alleged OKC Bombing John Doe II, arrested in Quincy, Mass

Will Justice Finally be Served?

by Eric Dondero

Pamela Geller, wrote a guest report here at LR, back in April of 2010 "Oklahoma City Bombing - Muslim Terrorist Connection, ignored by Mainstream Media":

Last weekend was the terrible anniversary of the Oklahoma Federal building bombing. Worse still is the Democrats' exploitation of OKC to demonize patriots, tea partiers, senior citizens and great Americans working to save this great nation from the scourge of the party of treason and, worst of all, the cover-up of the OKC Islamic connection.

Hussein-al-Husseini, an Iraqi soldier in Saddam Hussein's Army, sat beside Timothy McVeigh in the Ryder truck financed by Ramzi Youseff (Khalid Sheik Muhammad's nephew). The Oklahoma City bombing, 15 years ago, was the first heinous Islamic terror attack on American soil.

See the Chairman's Report "The Oklahoma City Bombing: Was there a Foreign Connection" by Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Chairman, 2007, Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House International Relations Committee. Excerpt:

There is serious, yet in some cases circumstantial, evidence that suggests a possible Middle Eastern connection to the Oklahoma City bombing (named “OKBOMB” by federal investigators):

For example, of all the cities in the world, convicted terrorist Ramzi Yousef and Terry Nichols were in Cebu City in the Philippines at the same time three months before the Oklahoma City bombing. Yousef was the perpetrator of the first World Trade Center attack...

Another possibility of Islamic terrorist involvement in the Oklahoma City bombing was pursued by Jayna Davis, a local Oklahoma City television reporter. Davis did extensive research in the immediate and long term aftermath of the crime and concluded that a small group of recent Iraqi émigrés living in the Oklahoma City area helped McVeigh bomb the Murrah building. She documented multiple witnesses who placed Timothy McVeigh with a foreign-looking person (and/or persons) in the days leading up to, as well as the day of, the Oklahoma City bombing. Her witnesses offer substantial support to the theory of a Middle Eastern connection and relate directly to the existence of John Doe Two.

Al-Hussaini assaults man in the face with a beer bottle

Now, after all these years, there's a strange new twist to the story of John Doe II and the Oklahoma City Bombing. And it comes from the other side of the country - Quincy, Massachusetts.

From the Patriot Ledger, "Quincy man in beer bottle attack still in jail..." March 12:

QUINCY — A homeless man from Quincy charged with slashing another man’s face with a beer bottle will remain in jail for now, unable to make $500 bail.

Hussain Al-Hussaini, 45, allegedly struck a 37-year-old man, who is also homeless, with a bottle near 1250 Hancock St., after they argued Wednesday.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center because of the seriousness of his injury, police said. Both the injured man and Al-Hussaini had been staying at Father Bill’s Place shelter for the homeless in Quincy.

The Connection to OKC

Continuing:

Readers commenting on a story about Wednesday’s arrest on The Patriot Ledger’s web site noted that a man with the same name was mentioned prominently in a book about the deadly bombing of an Oklahoma City federal building in 1995. The FBI on Thursday could not confirm whether it was the same person and said that in any case the man named Hussain Al-Hussaini in Oklahoma “was found to not have any role whatsoever in the attack on the Murrah Federal Building in 1995.”

And this additional information from a previous posting by the Patriot Ledger of the story, which has since been removed:

By Thursday afternoon, police had contacted the FBI and spoken to the book’s author.

Jayna Davis, author of the 2004 book “Third Terrorist: The Middle East Connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing,” said she asked a Quincy police detective if Hussain Al-Hussaini, the man police arrested, had a tattoo of an anchor with a snake wrapped around it. He did. Police sent her a photo of him.

“His age, his name, the picture, the mug shot – that’s him,” Davis told The Patriot Ledger via telephone after speaking with police. She said the anchor-and-snake tattoo was common among members of a branch of the Iraqi army under Saddam Hussein.

Further, at the time, FBI spokesman [Greg] Comcowich did "confirm Al-Hussaini had been seen with McVeigh prior to the bombing."

Has Justice finally caught up with Al-Hussaini? McVeigh was executed for the killings of the 181 OKC Bombing victims. Nichols is rotting in a federal jail cell for life without parole. But the Clinton administration quickly dropped any further investigations of Al-Hussaini almost immediately after McVeigh was caught.

And if Al-Hussaini talks?

What will non-interventionists, and leftist AntiWar activists who opposed the War in Iraq, say if it is found that Al-Hussaini was indeed part of the Middle-Eastern connection to the Oklahoma City Bombing?

Father of Little Rock Muslim Killer says Nashville Mosques radicalized son

New Information reveals Blodsoe also attempted to Burn down home of Jewish Nashville resident

Eric Dondero:

On June 1, 2009, Abdul Hakim Muhammad (formerly Carlos Bledsoe), drove up to a Little Rock Military Recruiting Center and shot at Army personnel outside, killing Pvt. William Long and seriously wounding Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula. Muhammad earlier that year, had attempted to burn down the home of a prominent Nashville-area Jewish Rabbi.

The father of Muhammad, Melvin Bloodsoe testified before Rep. Peter King's hearings on Radical Islam on Friday.

From DNJ.com "Suspect's father blames Nashville mosque"

"Something is wrong with the Muslim leadership in Nashville," Melvin Bledsoe said, testifying in Washington. "What happened to Carlos at those Nashville mosques isn't normal."

Bledsoe described his son as a happy-go-lucky kid, raised as a Baptist, who went astray after he moved to Nashville in 2003 to attend TSU. Bledsoe said Muhammad's personality changed after he converted to Islam...

In 2007, Muhammad moved to Yemen to "teach English." He was arrested for attempting to enter Somalia. He said he wanted to join the Jihad. He has since admitted to an additional terrorist attack in the US. While in Nashville, he attempted to burn down the home of a prominent Jewish rabbi.

Leftist-Libertarians: Anti-Jeffersonian on Foreign Policy?

Excerpted American Thinker, Adam Cassandra, "The Leftist-Libertarian Security Policy Problem" March 11:

The leftist-libertarian view of U.S. security policy characterizes the numerous terrorist attacks against America and our allies as a reaction to American foreign policy; embraces the 9/11 Truther movement; thinks the CIA is a terrorist organization; and views George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld as war criminals. Code Pink would approve.

The threat posed by totalitarian Islamist ideology is also significantly downplayed under the leftist-libertarian national security policy. Despite the plethora of Muslim Brotherhood documents obtained from the Holy Land Foundation trial detailing the strategic plan by Islamists to infiltrate and destroy Western Civilization, the leftist-libertarian attitude towards Islamists is simply to leave them alone and they'll leave us alone. Unfortunately, simply ignoring the greatest threat to American liberty has no basis whatsoever in American conservative thought.

Like Dick Cheney or Donald Rumsfeld, Thomas Jefferson would probably be heckled as a war criminal by vociferous Ron Paul supporters were he to speak at CPAC today. There was no formal declaration of war when President Jefferson attacked the Barbary States. There was only a set of joint resolutions authorizing the use of force -- much like with the Bush administration's war in Iraq.

The case of the Barbary pirates is important in assessing a conservative security policy. Despite claims to the contrary, George Washington was no isolationist. Washington's oft-cited Farewell Address is just as often misunderstood as a treatise on isolationism. Washington knew that the United States did not have the military capability or the resources to engage in foreign campaigns at the time, but he wrote:

If we remain one people under an efficient government. the period is not far off when we may defy material injury from external annoyance; when we may take such an attitude as will cause the neutrality we may at any time resolve upon to be scrupulously respected; when belligerent nations, under the impossibility of making acquisitions upon us, will not lightly hazard the giving us provocation; when we may choose peace or war, as our interest, guided by justice, shall counsel.

Washington and Jefferson faced the same threat from the Barbary pirates, but Jefferson chose force of arms over tribute. The actions of both Washington and Jefferson in dealing with their Islamist foes are consistent with a conservative foreign policy -- one that is prudent in protecting the just interests of the United States.

The conservative movement should welcome debate within its ranks, but the movement needs to completely reject policies that endanger the United States, our citizens, and our interests... rejection of the leftist-libertarian view of national security policy is only the first step.

Tunisian Party wants Sharia Law, outlaw Opposition Parties

Threaten nationwide-rebellions to establish Islamic State

From Google News (AFP) "Islamist party wants to establish Sharia law in Tunisia":

An Islamist party in Tunisia said Thursday it wants to install "by political means" a regime based on the strict Sharia form of Islamic law in the north African country.

"We are working to install a regime founded on Sharia," said Ridha Belhaj, a spokesman for the party Hizb At-Tahrir.

The party claims that "Islam is the solution" to problems in Tunisia after the ouster of longtime strongman Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in January following a popular uprising... the party does not rule out "rebellion or civil disobedience in order to establish an Islamic state," Belhaj added.

"In Islam, the nation has the right to overthrow its leaders, even by armed force," he said

He has also said if the Islamists are successful in winning power they would ban other parties.

Rightist Political Power Babes: Marine Le Pen and Sarah Palin, the comparisons begin

Beauté, la Liberté, et le Patriotisme

From Eric Dondero:

It was inevitable. With the rise of French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen, now 2 points ahead in the polls, the comparisons to Sarah Palin would come.

From ElSpectador.com:

The blonde with blues eyes, is being recognized by the public... support for leaving the European Union, opposition to immigration... this mother of three, separated from her husband, has taken a posture... like Sarah Palin and her Tea Party.

Rue Frontenac Le blogue de Marco Fortier, "Docteur Le Pen et ses remèdes":

Marine Le Pen... is what France is looking for... Sarah Palin and Tea Party friends also put their finger on the problem of worrying about the staggering debt of the United States.Fortunately, representatives of the people as brave Marine Le Pen, Sarah Palin and Rob Ford (the new mayor of Toronto) are there to speak to the "real issues", freed from any connection with the "elite" by the corrupt ruling class power.

They "ruthlessly put the interests of their country before all others"

From Glenn Crumley Time, Global Spin blog "Marine Le Pen And Sarah Palin: Who Is More Extreme?"

similarities exist. Both women and their parties want to seal off borders, halt immigration, and ruthlessly crack down hard on crime—including using capital punishment.

They both want to protect jobs and businesses in their countries from foreign threats; champion a form of hard-edged nationalist exceptionalism that emphatically puts the interests of their own people and country above all others; and show bristling disdain for international organizations. Both also call followers to help return society to supposedly simpler, wholesome, traditional practices and values lost over time to alien influence, political malfeasance, and moral decay.

Meanwhile, both have also proven masterful in using media to spread their political messages and advance their personal political ambitions. And—in a pinch—both women will cite reality-defying “facts” to support their arguments. And though their personal styles differ significantly, both women are smart and wily political animals with excellent instincts they use when laying verbal pile drivers on foes.

To be sure. Significant differences do exist as Crumley later points out. Mostly on economics; Palin is far more of a consistent free market champion, while Le Pen's views are more anti-globalist, anti-free trade.

Prompting Crumley to opine:

Not a program either Palin or the Koch brothers are likely to get behind anytime soon.

And ironically, Le Pen bristles at any comparisons of the two:

“I can not be compared with Madame Palin, and the National Front isn't similar to the Tea Party... The two political systems are very different, and (Palin's) positions reflect that.”

But despite her denials, their personal attractiveness and generally rightwing politics will no doubt spark further comparisons between the two, in the coming year.

Tea Partyers rally for Fred Grandy in front of WMAL

From Eric Dondero:

As we reported here at LR last week former Republican Congressman Fred Grandy and his wife were asked to leave the morning show on Washington DC-area radio station WMAL. (See LR, "Political Correctness strikes at the Nation's Capitol - Fred Grandy and wife Catherine fired by WMAL for criticizing Islam"). It was widely speculated that the reason for the separation was pressure from local Islamic groups including CAIR. The Grandys are vocal critics of Islamism.

About 80 mostly Tea Party-oriented conservatives and libertarians rallied outside WMAL headquarters last Monday in support of the Grandys. Rallyers shouted:

"Constitution: No Sharia Law!"

Social Conservative Rick Santorum showing a libertarian streak?

From Eric Dondero:

Speaking at a Lincoln/Reagan Day dinner in New Hampshire, during Q&A former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum let loose three zingers with particular libertarian zeal.

From Politico:

On Radical Islam

“Jihadism is evil and we need to say what it is...”

“We need to define it and say what it is. And it is evil. Sharia law is incompatible with American jurisprudence and our Constitution.”

On the Welfare State

"Close your eyes, like you’re listening to a drug dealer outside a schoolyard,” he said. “They see entitlements as a way to make you dependent, weaker, less of a person than you are, drugging you into submission to a government who promises a high to take care of you.”

On Compulsory Education

“Just call them what they are. Public schools? That’s a nice way of putting it. These are government run schools,”

“They fund it more,” he said of Democrats. “Why? Because it brings more children into their domain. It brings more children out of the household … Their agenda is to socialize your children with the thinking they want in those children’s minds.”

Santorum has a presidential exploratory committee, and has been campaigning in both Iowa and New Hampshire.

Libertarian Rocker Ted Nugent on why Europe is turning away from Multiculturalism

"Islam is... totalitarianism and enslavement"

From the Washington Times, "Multicultural Rot" March 5:

Instead of encouraging Muslims to assimilate and embrace European culture, tradition, norms and values, European leaders buried their heads in the sand and ignored the problem.

The bold, unfiltered truth is that some Muslims are not in the least bit interested in assimilating and embracing Western traditions, values and democracy. Their goal is taking over and transplanting Islam as the mandatory religion and government. Those Muslims do not believe in universal, basic human rights, such as women’s rights, freedom of speech, the right of others to practice their faith and the rule of law.

The definition of Islam is subjugation. For Muslim extremists and radicals, Islam is about totalitarianism and enslavement, not freedom.

Muslim Gunman in Germany was an AntiWar fanatic

Opposed War in Afghanistan, Hated Jews

From Eric Dondero:

New information coming out about Kosovar Muslim Terrorist Arid Uka who killed 2 US Air Force Airmen and seriously injured 3 others on a bus outside of the Frankfurt International Airport yesterday.

A spokesman for the German Government blamed Uka's opposition to the War in Afghanistan for the attack.

From Stars & Stripes "Prosecutor: Gunman targeted airmen because of Afghanistan" March 3:

Prosecutor Rainer Griesbaum told reporters Friday that suspect Arid Uka has confessed that he went to the Frankfurt airport Wednesday specifically to kill Americans “as revenge for the American mission in Afghanistan.”

The two dead Airmen are identified as Senior Airman Nicholas Alden, 25, of Williamston, S.C., and Airman 1st Class Zachary Cuddeback, 21, of Stanardsville, Va.

Amazingly, Uka pointed the gun point blank at the head of a 3rd Airman on the bus, and repeatedly pulled the trigger. But the gun jammed.

Uka is talking to police and according to Daily Mirror out of the UK he ranted about his hatred for Jews, and remarked "I did it for Allah."

Muslims rioting across France – Paris and Marseilles targeted

Une attaque islamique sur toute la France

From Eric Dondero:

Nightly riots by mostly Algerian Muslims in Paris now have spread from the Islamic enclaves surrounding the city, to downtown.

And in Marseilles Algerians used the occasion of a soccer match last weekend to riot city-wide.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has recently stated that French Muslims need to assimilate: they must "accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community."

Instead, they have reacted to his appeals with vitriol and increased violence from the North of France to the Cote d'Azur.

From La Provence (translation):

Twenty-six assaults per day in Marseilles. Is there any need to comment on the figures when the figures speak for themselves? When the Superior Court reopened after the New Year, district attorney Jacques Dallest used the occasion to explain the figures in more detail. And this year, they are more painful than before. They paint the portrait of a city that is suffering from crime: a 19% increase in armed robberies over 2009. With, as the attorney said, "assaults" executed "only for lucre" rising at a frightening rate. Three hundred crimes, major and minor, take place each day within the precinct (Marseilles-Aubagne-La Ciotat) of the Superior Court. "Marseilles is a minefield of criminal infractions," attorney Dallest declared in summary.

And then there's this news from another French blog Bivouc (translation):

Marseille - Streets are occupied by Muslims illegaly. The same scandalous scenes are repeated every Friday. The government lets them. The Media are silent... the scenes occur every Friday. We see Muslims praying in two streets (street Weight-of-the-Flour, Récollets Street), just 80 meters from the Canebière.

As is the case in Paris, the followers of the religion of peace now feel sufficiently numerous and powerful to engage in power relations and try to intimidate the institutions of the Republic.

There are roughly 7 million Muslims living in France, about 5 to 10% of the population. They are mostly immigrants from Algeria, and Morrocco, with large percentages from Turkey and Tunisia.

Photo is of a Muslim attack on a French citizen in central Paris, near the Eiffel Tower.

Libertarian Republican State Senator addresses crowd in Madison

From Eric Dondero:

State Senator Frank Lasee of the Green Bay area, has been affiliated with the Republican Liberty Caucus since the early 2000s. Not only is he a hardline free marketeer but he also has a solid record in opposing nanny-state legislation such as smoking bans, and he supported lowering the drinking age to 18.

Last weekend he addressed a Tea Party crowd gathered at the state capital.

Predictable: Janet Napolitano claims credit for capturing Aldawsari

From Eric Dondero:

It's the Government, not the private chemical company in North Carolina that reported the Texas Tech Terrorist to the FBI, who can claim the most credit for capturing Saudi Terrorist Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari. She asserts, ICE and Financial Privacy regulations enacted by the Obama administration deserve the credit.

From CNN, "DHS says it had suspicions about terror suspect before companies' tip":

In testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Thursday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials received a "suspicious activity report" concerning the student's banking activity before tips from a chemical company and shipping company came in.

ICE "notified the FBI," Napolitano said. "The FBI and ICE then pursued an investigation and of course that led ultimately to the arrest of the individual involved," Napolitano said.

This is a "good news story," Napolitano said, noting the department's efforts to routinely monitor the suspicious financial activities of foreign students.

Rep. Peter King, Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee pressed Napolitano, on the role of the private companies. She responded:

"We give credit there. We give credit to ICE."

The Chevy reVOLTution: Plug ‘er in

Your tax dollars at work

From Cliff Thies:

281. That's the number of Chevy Volts sold during the month of February, bringing the grand total of Volts sold to date to 928. That number includes the one bought by Consumer Union which shelled out $48,000 to drive the POS off the lot. They note that, in addition to its ginormous price, the car takes five hours of electricity it takes to juice up its battery, and features poor performance and pathetic range. Still, the thing actually works, if you care how much it costs, and that your ride takes twice the energy, in the form of coal, and has four times the carbon footprint than a conventional automobile. That it actually works is more than you can say about most of the windmills that have been "installed" in this country.

Now, I ask you, was anybody really afraid that socialism might work in this country?

Victory in Ohio! SB5 passes the State Senate by one single vote

From Eric Dondero:

Elections matter. The Ohio State Senate shifted Republican in 2010. And now, SB5, the bill to restrict collective bargaining by taxpayer-subsidized public employee unions - has passed by a slim 1 vote margin.

Bill sponsor Republican Senator Shannon Jones was quoted by WLWT Radio News:

"Our cities are not making their pension payments, they are not making their workers comp payments, they are not doing infrastructure projects, they are gutting basic services. Why? Because their hands are tied by collective bargaining agreements."

The GOP has a much more comfortable 59 to 40 margin in the House, so the Bill is expected to pass that chamber easily. And then it's off to Republican Governor John Kasich for his signature.

Note - this website was an early an enthusiastic supporter of Kasich for Governor in 2010.

Political Correctness strikes at Nation’s Capitol: Fred Grandy and wife Catherine fired by WMAL for criticizing Radical Islam

From Eric Dondero:

Former Iowa Republican Congressman, and TV sitcom star Fred Grandy has been fired (or by some accounts asked to resign), as the morning show co-host on AM radio station WMAL. The station is one of the top news radio outlets in the Washington/Baltimore market.

The radio station is not giving specifics, but Grandy pulled no punches. He asserts that he and his wife were asked to leave because of their strident views against radical Islam.

From Grandy via Rightsidenews.com:

“My wife and I have used our program over the last several months to warn about the spread of radical Islam at home and abroad. Last week, Catherine (known on the show as Mrs. Fred) delivered a very tough indictment against stealth jihad, and for her efforts she was told she was off the show. I then told management without Mrs. Fred at the microphone, I could not remain either and have resigned effective this morning.”

Grandy pointed the finger at the Council for American Islamic Relations. Continuing:

“We cannot affirmatively conclude CAIR or any of the prominent Islamic organizations had anything to do with this. We do know, however, in 2005 representatives of CAIR in DC were successful in getting midmorning host Michael Graham fired for anti-Islamic statements he had made on the radio and TV.”

Further reports suggest Sean Hannity is CAIR's next target.

Barbour: Welfare Queens pulling up to Pharmacys in BMWs

MS Gov. uses libertarian argument for Medicaid abolishment

From Eric Dondero:

The National Governors Association conference was held in D.C. last weekend. One of the main topics of discussions was Medicaid; Democrats wanting to preserve every aspect of the 1960s program, Republicans seeking alternatives such as block grants to the states.

Mississippi Governor in particular, was highly critical of hand-outs to recipients.

From the Washington Post "Governors differ on extent of flexibility for Medicaid":

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) said states should also be free, for instance, to compel Medicaid patients to pay for part of their medicine, saying, "We have people pull up at the pharmacy window in a BMW and say they can't afford their co-payment."

Note - Barbour has opened up an exploratory committee for President.
