For years, Seth Green used to beg friends to lend their voices to his cheeky little blast of attention-deficit television, Robot Chicken.
Now, as the stop-motion animation series reaches the 100-episode milestone (Sunday at 10:30 p.m. on Teletoon at Night), the stars are coming to him.
Including a certain judge from The Voice.
I ran into Cee Lo Green at the MTV awards four years ago, says Green says on the phone from L.A., and he grabbed me by the shoulders with his jewel-encrusted hands and said, When am I going to be on Robot Chicken? And I was like, Please tell me one of these people standing next to you is your agent or manager or scheduling coordinator.
One of them was. Cee Lo was booked for a recording session and, according to Seth Green, he killed: So fearlessly funny.
Besides Green and co-creator Matt Senreich, the voices of Alex Borstein, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane and Breckin Meyer can often be heard on the series. Celebrity guest voices have ranged from Mark Hamill to David Hasselhoff to Hugh Hefner to Hulk Hogan and those are just the Hs.
Using a mix of animated dolls and toys, the series takes bratty pot shots at all aspects of pop culture. The 100th episode ventures into live action and traditional two-dimensional animation, especially during a goof on the old Saturday morning Hanna-Barbera cartoons. (Yogi and Boo-Boo morph into live action Power Ranger-type heroes.)
Green says hes become somewhat of an expert on how far you can go parodying well-known properties. You dont get permission as much as you do your due diligence to make a specific kind of joke thats allowable without permission, he says.
Crossing genres and platforms is also something Green, 38, has become an expert on. Hes had an impact in film and TV roles, such as the Austin Powers movies and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but also on webisodes and video games, especially the wildly popular Mass Effect series as flight lieutenant Jeff Joker Moreau.

When we envision our transhumanist future, it's a little more profound than simply adding a sixth finger... but we suppose you've gotta start somewhere. Instructables user and employee Frenzy gave himself a rather primitive extra digit as part of a project for an Electronics and Robotics class at San Francisco State University. Sadly he doesn't provide step-by-step instructions for building your own cyborg appendage, but it doesn't seem too difficult. Frenzy borrowed heavily from other projects, using EMG sensors to trigger a servo controlled by an Arduino, which he strapped to the back of a glove. Like we said, doesn't seem particularly hard, once you figure out how to get the microcontroller to play nice with the sensors. Obviously this is just one small step step for DIY cyborgs. Next, we need to graph on a few extra arms to make one-man liveblogging a much simpler endeavor. To see Primitive Transhumanism #2: Sixth Finger in action, head on past the break.

Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker, announcing his intention to schedule current champion, Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey vs. Cris "Cyborg" Santos at 135 generated a lot of interest and excitement with fans. In an interview following her second gold medal performance at the IBJJF Worlds event, Cyborg spoke to Marcus Kowal, from StudioMMA. Cyborg discussed her success at the competition, her suspension for using banned substances and her next opponent, Ronda Rousey.
Cris 'Cyborg' Santos: "Ronda Wants my Arm. I Want Her Head" video
Cyborg: "I think my next fight may be January. I talked to Strikeforce and they think January. I hope I fight Honda and I'm very excited for this fight. She wants my arm. I want her head."
Marcus: "What's the difference between stepping in with Miesha Tate vs. Cris Cyborg?"
Cyborg: "I think R(H)onda talks too much...She don't like punch in face...She's happy with judo and arm bar. I think I have more things for show MMA. I have more 'martial' arts and I like punching face."
Marcus: "Do guys get intimidated by you? How do guys...date Cris Cyborg?"
Cyborg: "It's too soon." (referencing her divorce from husband, Evangelista Santos).
Marcus: "Do girls get more nervous when they have to face you to fight jiu jitsu?"
Cyborg: "I think so, yes. But no possible punch, yeah? I like more punches, but jiu jitsu--for me now--I like more too."
Cris, age 26, says that after fighting she wants to train students, but she intends to keep competing until age 45, like Randy Couture.

Rousey vs. Cyborg in January? 'She Wants My Arm, I Want Her Head': Fan's Look
Ronda Rousey and Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos are on a collision course.
The top two female stars have exchanged jabs on Twitter and in interviews. Will the social media trash talk eventually lead to a showdown between champions?
In an interview with Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker weighed in on quite possibly the "biggest Strikeforce bout of the year."
I think [a bout between Ronda and Cyborg] is gonna be inevitable. I think that fight will happen at some point. We're just waiting for Cyborg to get off her suspension, but that conversation will happen once she's back and ready to fight because her and Ronda at 135, I mean, that might be the highest rated show on Showtime for the year or for the past fights we've done.
Cyborg was suspended and stripped of her Strikeforce women's featherweight title in January after testing positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol.
With Cyborg out of the picture, Rousey ascended the female ranks to not only capture the Strikeforce women's bantamweight title, but she has also become the new face of women's MMA.
She has been a perfect 5-0 in her professional career, and all of her fights have ended in the first round by armbar.
With that said, Rousey has never faced anyone like Cyborg, who is known for tossing grown men around in training camp.
During the live broadcast in December for Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal, Strikeforce commentator and MMA legend Pat Miletich put it best: "You don't know how hard a woman can hit, until you've been hit by Cyborg."
Coker seems to lean along the same lines. While he's been impressed with Rousey's handiwork up to this point, it's tough to bet against the nightmare that is Cyborg.

Scott Coker on Ronda Rousey vs. Cyborg: "Cyborg Is a Whole Other Level"
It's no secret that one of the few remaining big-ticket fights that Strikeforce can put togetherat least at the momentis a women's title fight between bantamweight champion and rising superstar Ronda Rousey and former featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.
Cyborg, of course, can't fight at the moment. She's currently serving a one-year suspension for testing positive for stanozolol, after thoroughly dismantling poor Hiroko Yamanaka last December. Cyborg was stripped of her title, leaving the Strikeforce female featherweight division on the verge of extinction.
Rousey's rise to the top coincided with Cyborg's fall from grace, but there's still plenty of interest in seeing the two best female fighters in the world collide. Part of that comes from a technical perspective, but mostly it's due to Rousey taking every chance she can get to issue derogatory remarks about Cyborg.
Female fighting at the highest level hasn't really caught on with the public, but Rousey vs. Cyborg is the exception. Rousey's personality, and the fact that she's utterly destroyed every opponent she's faced thus far, has helped turn her into Strikeforce's biggest star. And Cyborg has a wealth of footage of her destroying one opponent after another. It's truly a gold mine.
Cyborg took the time toissue a challenge to Rouseyfor the 135-pound belt after winning gold at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships over the weekend.
The main question that remains is this: Can Cyborg actually make 135? She's a massive woman, all rippling muscles and very little body fat. And according to Cyborg herself, she won't be able to make the weight.
Can the fight actually happen? Rousey's mom, Dr. Ann Maria Rousey, says that Rousey might consider a catchweight bout, but she indicated that Rouseyshouldn't compromise for someone who was caught doing steroids.
As a fight fan, I hope we do see Rousey vs. Cyborg down the road, even if it takes place at 140 pounds or another agreed-upon catchweight. They're two of the most compelling characters in the sport, and they're also the best female fighters in the world.
It would be a shame if they're kept apart by weight issues, but I also understand that Rousey has no incentive to move up to featherweight. She's the champion, she's the one who has stayed clean thus far throughout her career and there's no reason for her to risk her marketability by moving to a weight she isn't completely comfortable in against an opponent who might run through her quite easily.

Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg: Is the Biggest Fight Strikeforce Can Make
With Scott Coker's announcement that a fight between Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey is "inevitable," some would say that matchup represents a changing of the guard as "the face of women's MMA."
Rousey took the fight community by storm over the past year, but Santos has been overwhelming opponents since 2005.
Is this a clash of the present vs the future?
"Cyborg" has been a dominating figure in the sport for so long that many forget she's still just 26 years old and should have plenty of gas left in the tank. Even without performance-enhancing drugs, I believe she'll be a force in women's MMA for the long haul.
"I think that fight will happen at some point," Coker told MMAFighting.com, referring to a future tilt between Rousey and Santos. "We're just waiting for Cyborg to get off her suspenion but that conversation will happen once she's back ready to fight because her and Ronda at 135-pounds? That might be the highest rated show on Showtime for the year or for the past fights we've done."
He added that "Women's fights always rate well on Showtime and Ronda's always delivered. That armbar is unbelievable. She's proved with Miesha, she's proven with other girls, that she can fight a kickboxer, she can fight a wrestler. Fighting Cyborg? That's a whole other level. It's just a fight I would really like to sit down and watch and just be a fan but I think that Sean is going to try to put that fight together at some point."
But before Rousey gets a crack at Santos, she is expected to defend her Strikeforce women's bantamweight belt later this summer against Sarah Kaufman.
As for Santos, she is suspended until December, and there's no way Rousey is going to wait that long without notching at least one fight under her belt.
If Rousey fights Kaufman in July or August, that would set up the perfect timetable for an early-2013 bout between her and Santos.
Many speculated that Rousey would be fighting on the "Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy" card on July 14, but the UFC posted the press release about the card onto their website on May 29 and her name was nowhere to be found on it.

Strikeforce champion (145), Cris "Cyborg" Santos won Gold at the IBJJF jiu jitsu competition on Saturday, June 2 and then wasted no time using that platform to call out current Strikeforce champion--at 135--Ronda Rousey. Strikeforce CEO, Scott Coker, in an interview with MMAFighting's Ariel Helwani, said he wants to see that fight happen.
Rousey vs Cyborg
Strikeforce is focused on the 135 division. Cyborg is the champion of the 145 division. Scott Coker thinks a match between Rousey and Cyborg is "...inevitable. I think that fight will happen at some point...That conversation will happen once she's back and ready to fight. Her and Ronda at 135? That might be the highest rated show on Showtime for the year or the past fights we've done...Women's fights always rate well on Showtime...Ronda's always delivered. That armbar is unbelievable. She proved with Miesha, she's proven with the other girls--she can fight a wrestler, she can fight a striker. Fighting Cyborg? That's a whole 'nother level. I think that Sean is trying to put that fight together."
Scott Coker Believes Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg Will Happen video
That fight will be well worth the wait.
But first, Cyborg has to complete her time on suspension. She is not eligible to compete in MMA until mid-December. That might mean fans will have to wait until 2013 to see this fight happen. That's not all bad. Rousey will need time to increase the level of her striking skills to make it through the first round of punches and kicks from Cyborg.
Meanwhile Cyborg's purple belt ground game is getting better and better.
Cyborg on Twitter
Cris Cyborg has been busy tweeting and generating fan interest in a Strikeforce war between her and Ronda Rousey. She tweeted her appreciation to fans and sponsors, "Again, thank you for everyone who help me in IBJJF. My trainers sponsors and everyone who believe in me. I come back soon and make u all proud. (photo) http://fb.me/1z0qnr7Df"
Cyborg's opponent at the Worlds competition, Hillary VanOrnum, tweeted, "@criscyborg It was an honor to fight you yesterday. I hope I made you work very hard for gold! I would love to train mma & bjj with you!"

Scott Coker Says Cyborg Vs Rousey at 135 Will Happen: Fan Reaction
MANILA, Philippine --- Even Robocop, they say, needs an overhauling for optimum performance.
And not a cyborg like the popular superhero cop, members of the Philippine National Police, particularly those assigned in the field, underwent overhauling through the conduct of stress management seminar, an official said.
What made the stress management seminar special, according to Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz, Jr., is that the lecture was done a member of the Chaplain Service of the Delano City Police in California, Rev. Joseph Wright, who is dubbed as an expert on the field.
Cruz, the acting director of the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG), said the lecture which was done on Friday is vital to the several policemen who attended it as police works are faced with various pressures both from the community and within the organization.
The basic stress management learned from the lecture would be of great help to the PNP since its members touch base with the community, said Cruz.
The activity also endeavors to reduce the impact of trauma to individuals especially police officers by providing early intervention and allowing for early effective expression of crisis experience, he added.
Cruz said the PNP was lucky to have personally received lectures from Wright who has been conducting psychological and spiritual lectures not only in the United States but also in other parts of the world.
Wright, who used to be a staff sergeant of the United States Air Force, is one of the five chaplains from the Delano City who are well-trained as Critical Incident Management counselors.
The conduct of stress management was first earlier raised for the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines amid incidents in the past of running berserk even inside the camp.
Some critics also raised the importance of stress management to fight the tendency of maltreating arrested suspects. It was recalled that the recent US State Department revealed that torture and other human rights issues still haunt the PNP.

Supertrailer - The best trailers of the week packed into one cinematic video
Gary Oldman has signed up for the 'RoboCop' remake.
The 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' actor will star as Norton, a scientist who creates the technology that brings the titular super-human cyborg who is played by Joel Kinnaman - to life in the MGM reboot of the 1987 sci-fi movie.
But Gary's alter-ego will find himself torn between a callous company and the machine who was formerly a police officer called Alex Murphy saved from the brink of death and turned into a robot cop - trying to rediscover his humanity, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jose Padilha will direct the motion picture, with Marc Abraham and Eric Newman in line to produce.
The filmmaker had previously revealed Michael Fassbender was his top choice to play the cyborg who was originally portrayed by Peter Weller in the first two 'Robocop' movies in 1987 and 1990 before Robert Burke took over in 1993's 'Robocop 3' - and the 'Shame' actor even signalled his interest about starring in the project.
Jose said: "I can't talk yet, it's too early to speak, but there are some actors I like. I really like the Fassbender, I'd like to talk to him - I'll talk to him. There's a possibility ...."
Michael explained: "You know, I'm always open. I'll take a look at the script and sit down with the director and have a conversation. It's not definitely like, 'Oh, I've got to play RoboCop before I retire.' I don't have that about anything. I don't go, 'I have to play the Dane one day, or Hamlet.' I don't really think like that.
"I just wait and see what comes up, and I'm always open to it. If I react to the script, then I'm up for anything.
"It could be kind of fun [to wear the iconic outfit]. It could be kind of good to have a helmet that I could hide behind for most of the film too, that sounds kind of appealing."

It looks like perennial bad guy Gary Oldman will play the mad scientist in the highly anticipated remake of "RoboCop."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Dark Knight Rises star will play opposite cyborg cop Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) in the upcoming MGM vehicle.
A sci-fi film originally built around Arnold Schwarzenegger, RoboCop is about a police officer who narrowly escapes death by morphing into a cyborg.
Oldman will play Norton in the new version, the man responsible for RoboCop's metamorphosis. Only he finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place once the deed is done: should he stay loyal to the corporation he works for or help the machine retrace its human roots?
The robotic film - which has a tentative release date of summer 2013 - could begin shooting in Toronto as early as September, THR reports.
The Oscar nominees got his hands full until then: his next role is as Commissioner Gordon in "The Dark Knight Rises," which hits theaters July 20.
Also, his new period crime flick, "Lawless," co-starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy, just debuted at the Cannes Film Festival.

WASHINGTON (May 15, 2012)A cyborg anthropologist, a pilot, a digital storyteller and zoologist, a crisis mapper and a guerrilla geographer are among the 15 visionary, young trailblazers from around the world who have been named to the 2012 class of National Geographic Emerging Explorers.
National Geographic's Emerging Explorers Program recognizes and supports uniquely gifted and inspiring adventurers, scientists and storytellers, who are pushing the boundaries of discovery, adventure and global problem-solving while still early in their careers.
The Emerging Explorers each receive a $10,000 award to assist with research and to aid further exploration. The program is made possible in part by the Panasonic Corporation.
The 2012 Emerging Explorers are U.S. cyborg anthropologist Amber Case; U.K. digital storyteller and zoologist Lucy Cooke; U.K. behavioral ecologist Iain Couzin; Mexican underwater archaeologist Guillermo de Anda; chemist Yu-Guo Guo of China; conservationist Osvel Hinojosa Huerta of Mexico; U.S. pilot and educator Barrington Irving; conservation biologist Krithi Karanth of India; Swiss crisis mapper Patrick Meier; U.S. archaeologist Sarah Parcak; U.S. data scientist Jake Porway; U.K. guerrilla geographer Daniel Raven-Ellison; U.S. archaeologist Jeffrey Rose; engineer and renewable energy advocate Ibrahim Togola of Mali; and archaeologist Daniel Torres Etayo of Cuba. The new Emerging Explorers are introduced in the June 2012 issue of National Geographic magazine, and comprehensive profiles can be found at http://www.nationalgeographic.com/emerging.
National Geographic Emerging Explorers may be selected from virtually any field, from the Society's traditional arenas of anthropology, archaeology, photography, space exploration, earth sciences, mountaineering and cartography to the worlds of technology, music and filmmaking.
"National Geographic's mission is to inspire people to care about the planet, and our Emerging Explorers are outstanding young leaders whose endeavors further this mission. We are pleased to support them as they set out on promising careers. They are innovators in their respective fields and represent tomorrow's Edmund Hillarys, Jacques Cousteaus and Dian Fosseys," said Terry Garcia, National Geographic's executive vice president for Mission Programs.
Cyborg anthropology is a framework for understanding the effects of objects and technology on culture. Cyborg anthropologist Amber Case studies the interaction between humans and computers and how our relationship with information is changing the way we think, act and understand our world. She believes that how we interact with machines and technology in many ways defines who we are. She has observed an increasingly symbiotic relationship between people and technology, and she feels that today's technologies amplify our humanness. Her research in mobile software and data visualization has helped influence business strategy and productivity for people online. Her insights are shaping new products, the way tech insiders think, and ideas that will make technology a more empowering, rather than frustrating, part of daily life. She is the founder of Geoloqi, a company building cutting-edge, location-based technologies for mobile phones.
Digital storyteller and zoologist Lucy Cooke is on a one-woman crusade to champion ugly, unappreciated and unloved creatures and show why they deserve our attention, study and protection. Through her popular and quirky blogs, online videos, films and TV programs, she reaches a wide audience, spreading her conservation message that if we only care for "cute" and best-loved species, other enormously crucial parts of the web of life could vanish forever. Frogs top her underdog list. Over a third of all amphibians are heading for oblivion. It's the worst extinction crisis since the dinosaurs were wiped out and one that will reverberate through the entire food chain, but they don't grab headlines like pandas or polar bears. Cooke hopes to inspire people to share her sense of wonder, amazement and love of nature's freaks. "Once you understand why they're ugly or odd, I hope you'll appreciate and want to save them as much as I do," she says.
