Some video of Jupiter and 3 of it #39;s moons captured a few days ago.
In the big city of Toronto I captured this video early in the morning just as our sun "star" was rising of Jupiter and three of it #39;s moon #39;s on the temporary balcony observatory. It is really pretty amazing if you can wrap your mind around it all. These are celestial planets that are millions of miles away from our planet, so close, yet so far away. I just find it "cool" that anyone with a decent enough telescope and understanding of religion and astronomy can accept and appreciate what we are looking at is not the creation of "mankind" and is something much bigger.From:Richard McKennaViews:0 0ratingsTime:02:35More inScience Technology

On November 25th moon had a halo which could be due to reflection or refraction phenomena on ice crystals around the moon. Annular Solar Eclipse May 20 2012 [Annular Solar Eclipse May 20 2012] - Video

SAN ANGELO, Texas Angelo State University's Global Immersion Center will present two public astronomy shows during its 2012 holiday schedule beginning Thursday in the Vincent Nursing-Physical Science Building, 2333 Vanderventer Ave.

"Season of Light" will run at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursdays through Dec. 13. "2012: The End of the World? Not!" will run at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Dec. 13.

"Season of Light" examines solstice rituals and explores some seasonal traditions.

"2012: The End of the World? Not!" delves into the question of whether the Mayans predicted Dec. 21, 2012, as the end of the world.

All shows are open to the public. Cost is $3 for adults and $2 for children, active military and senior citizens. ASU students, faculty and staff are admitted free.
