Glee creator Ryan Murphy has revealed his plans for Cory Monteith's character, Finn Hudson, in the wake of the actor's untimely death one week ago: Finn will pass away tragically as well.
A tribute episode will take place in the third installment of Glee Season 5, the premiere of which was just pushed back by one week due to the tragedy that has rocked the Fox show's cast.
The creator also said he gave Lea Michele, Monteith's co-star and real-life girlfriend, the option of not returning to the show after his death; Michele did not consider this and will be back.
Murphy told THR today: "It's always sad and shocking when somebody so young dies."
"One of the things that made it even more upsetting is that so many of us who knew and loved him were actively involved in trying to get him better."
"When you're faced with something so sad and so shocking, what do you do? Do we cancel the show? Do we start shooting in January? What do we do?"
"The right thing to do for the show, at this point, is to have that character pass," Murphy says of his plans for the coming season, which debuts September 26.
"Ultimately, we decided the best thing for everyone is to get back to work and be around people who knew him and loved him so that everyone can grieve together."
"When we do a tribute episode to [his] character, we'll do it in a way where the cast members will not have to re-create feelings of grief they’ve had this week, but do it in an upbeat way."
What do you think of Murphy's comments, and plans for the character? Comment below ...

It's your first look the October 10th season premiere. Sit back and enjoy, readers:

Two more big names have been added to Arrow Season 2.
On the heels of Summer Glau coming on board as Isobel Rochev - and Caity Lotz landing the role of The Black Canary - the show announced at today's Comic-Con panel that Michael Jai White and Kevin Alejandro will also recur this fall on The CW drama.

White (Spawn, The Dark Knight, Mortal Kombat) will guest star as Bronze Tiger, a claw-wielding killer who was a member of both the League of Assassins and the Suicide Squad in the DC comic. Look for him to team with China White on the series.
Alejandro (Southland, True Blood, Golden Boy), meanwhile, will portray Sebastian Blood, an alderman who rises to power following the earthquake that devastated Starling City on the Arrow Season 1 finale. He will blame the Queens for that horrible event.
Arrow also unveiled a fun sizzle reel for fans in attendance at the Q&A discussion. Check it out here:

Before taking off on a sea-faring adventure this fall, the cast of Once Upon a Time stopped by Comic-Con today for a panel discussion and a series of red carpet interviews.
And while you'll need to wait a few days before gathering up scoop from our exclusives chats with Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin and company, producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis did drop a bomb at the show's Q&A session: Ariel is coming!
A sneak peek to close the event featured a mysterious, water-based creature sneaking up on a dwarf… grabbing his fork from his lunchbox… and diapering again into the ocean. And, yes, there was red hair and a fin.
Other highlights from the panel included:
Once Upon a Time Season 3 premieres on September 29.

At Comic-Con today, Julie Plec said she was faced with a challenge:
How do you write an October premiere for fans who did not watch the backdoor pilot that aired during this prior season on The Vampire Diaries? The producer's answer? You turn things over to the one and only Daniel Gillies.
"It will be told from Elijah's point of view... Elijah comes in to find out what trouble Klaus is up to," Plec said of how the official Season 1 premiere will focus on "similar scenes and moments that we didn't get to see in the pilot."
Among other highlights revealed by Plec and cast members during an entertaining Q&A session with fans:

I’m loving this incredibly fun and imaginative anatomy by Hamburg based 3D artist, Antoni Tudisco. At a mere 21 years old, Antoni is a completely self taught artist, mastering the entire Adobe Suite and teaching himself 3D illustration. He was one of those kids that would rather draw in class than listen to the teacher—many of us can relate! After graduating from school at 18 he’s been sought out by major companies for his work, including MTV, Coca-Cola, Louis Vuitton, Kellogg’s, and many more.

Orphan Black! Orphan Black! Orphan Black!
So chanted fans of this BBC smash yesterday prior to the show's panel discussion at Comic-Con, which featured stars Tatiana Maslany, Dylan Bruce and Jordan Gavaris and creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson.
And along with talking about how Maslany gets into the mood for each of her characters (by listening to playlists, the actress said, such as show tunes for Allison, electro for Cosima), the group confirmed that Orphan Black Season 2 will return in April.
As you might expect, it will also feature more Sarah Manning lookalikes.
“We are making this wacky little clone shows and we do like our clones," Fawcett said. "I don’t think anyone would be surprised if we unveiled a few more clones in season 2.”
Not many specific storylines were addressed at the Q&A, but Manson did at least touch on Cosima’s apparent illness.
“She now has to look at her own science, and I think that’s going to be really interesting," he said. "When she looks at her own science, she looks at the health of all her sisters too... the truth is, it’s still up in the air. We don’t know what’s going to happen to Cosima."
Might we learn more about Beth or Katja, both of whom met their demise rather soon after viewers met them?
“The show has a pace that charges forward,” Manson said. “We couldn’t really find a way to flashback in season two and keep the pace up and keep this relentless following of Sarah’s journey. We’re gonna try to do it somehow, we’re going to try and get back there. We’d love to do that pre story. It could be in Season 3 or Season 5.”
Added Fawcett: “There has been discussion of the Beth episode, but I don’t think you’re going to see it in Season 2.”

The cast of Nikita said goodbye to Comic-Con yesterday.
During a panel discussion that featured creator Craig Silverstein and stars Noah Bean, Melinda Clarke, Aaron Stanford, Lyndsy Fonseca, Shane West and Maggie Q, everyone had a chance to chime in on what we can expect from a six-episode Season 4.
Maggie Q, on where the action will pick up: "We don't have to build to anything, we just get to it. When Nikita sees Michael again, it was a weird way to leave it, but it's a decision made of love. She left because she really really loved this man, and that's what it was about."
West, on Michael's state of mind: "Michael may have gone dark again, especially after [Nikita Season 3]. It's going to be a really fun dynamic to play. He's always going to love Nikita, and this will put their relationship to a test."
Fonseca, on the future for Alex: "Alex has been through a lot and is in such a delicate place, but what does Alex do with her life? She doesn't have to hide from anyone and is a real person and she's going to take advantage of that. But it's a tricky balance to be normal during the day and play spy at night."
Silverstein, on a mobile Division: "Their lair is an airplane, so they can be in different places around the globe. We're never going to top the lair from first season, then they had a beach house, Division was destroyed last season, so we couldn't do a hideout, so now we're going to be in the sky."
Clarke, on the evolution of Amanda: "We purposely kept her enigmatic, then peeled back the layers of the stinky onion. But this character befuddled me. I never knew what the motivation was, but I always tried to ground her in love, and we learn it was a betrayal of love from her father and it carried through with Nikita to destroy her and teach her a lesson. I understand somewhat what she's motivated by."
Silverstein, on Amanda: "She is too evil to destroy Our plan was to kill Amanda at the end of last season. She was dead, and something happened and we could not kill her. She survived everything we had up on the board… She's the big bad and so is Nikita in a way. She's her own worst enemy."
Maggie Q, on learning the fate of the series: "My heart hurt, because I have a very deep love for them and miss them. Then I got over it... We get to end this show with our heads high. I didn't want it to [drag out]. I wanted to go out and people feel full but still a little hungry."
