How to live longer: Rooibos tea prevents cancer and promotes healthy hearts – Express

For centuries many have searched for the secret to a longer life. From not smoking to reducing alcohol intake, there are many ways to help lengthen ones life. Drinking more tea is another healthy approach and in particular Rooibos tea which helps reduce cancer risk, promote healthy hearts and weight loss and boosting longevity.

Rooibos teas health benefits include supporting a healthy heart, preventing cancer, managing and preventing diabetes, supporting healthy digestion, fighting inflammation, promoting stronger bones, supporting weight loss, slowing down ageing process, treating blood pressure, supporting healthy skin, fighting dandruff and supporting kidney health.

The College of Korean medicine conducted a study and found that Rooibos tea has a positive effect on heart health as it helps keep hormone levels balanced and inhibits the release of excessive hormones from the adrenal gland.

This further helps to prevent hypertension and high blood pressure.

Rooibos tea contains nothofagin and aspalathin, which are powerful chemical compounds known to calm inflammation in the vascular system and acts as a vasodilator.

Rooibos is associated with health benefits due to its high levels of health-promoting antioxidants, which include aspalathin and quercetin.

Antioxidants may help protect cells from damage by free radicals.

In a study published in the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, free radicals, antioxidants and how it helps with overall health was investigated.

The study noted: When an overload of free radicals cannot gradually be destroyed, their accumulation in the body generates a phenomenon called oxidative stress.

This process plays a major part in the development of chronic and degenerative illness such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, aging, cataract, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.

The human body has several mechanisms to counteract oxidative stress by producing antioxidants, which are either naturally produced in situ, or externally supplied through foods and/or supplements.

Tea chemist and scientist Dr Tim Bond said: There is also evidence to show that rooibos helps protect body cells from oxidative damage.

The explanation for these effects is that rooibos tea contains a diverse range of phenolics including two unique polyphenols, aspalathin and nothofagin, which have a particularly strong anti-oxidative activity.

Rooibos tea also contains essential bone strengthening minerals including potassium, calcium and magnesium all integral for proper bone health.

Rooibos tea could also help to reduce the likelihood of brain function decline.

Research Roundup: COVID-19 Recovery & the Vaccine and More – BioSpace

Every week there are numerous scientific studies published. Heres a look at some of the more interesting ones.

People Recovered from COVID-19 May Only Require One Dose of mRNA Vaccines

A study published on the preprint server medRxiv, meaning it has not yet been peer-reviewed, suggests that people who have had a strong case of COVID-19 may only require a single mRNA vaccine, such as that produced by Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, in order to generate sufficient immune response for protection. The study was conducted by scientists at Mount Sinai Hospital. The findings were partially described after noting that people who had previous cases of the disease appeared to have much more severe reactions to the first dose of the vaccines.

I think one vaccination should be sufficient, said Florian Krammer, a virologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and one of the study authors. This would also spare individuals from unnecessary pain when getting the second dose and it would free up additional vaccine doses.

It was supported by a second study published on medRxiv by researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in healthcare workers. This study didnt evaluate symptom response to the vaccine, but instead looked at antibody responses. In that study, they found that previously infected people generated high antibody levels after the first dose of the vaccines, comparable to the levels seen after second doses in individuals who had not previously had COVID-19.

Although the data is interesting, its a significantly long way from proving that the second doses should be abandoned in people already diagnosed with COVID-19. And there are cases where people with mild COVID-19 cases seemed to generate much lower antibody levels, which may not offer enough protection, particularly against the new more contagious variants.

Random DNA Change Reversed Rare Inherited Immune Condition

DOCK8 immunodeficiency is a rare autosomal recessive type of hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome. It is caused by a mutation in the DOCK8 gene and is marked by elevated immunoglobulin E levels, eosinophilia, and recurrent staph and viral infections. Investigators at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research identified three patients whose bodies spontaneously repaired the mutation and restored normal immune function over time. Two of the patients were in France and one in Australia. Analyzing the genome of the patients immune cells, they observed that some cells had undergone somatic reversion, which is to say, they accumulated random mutations within the DOCK8 gene and when it was copied, they reverted to normal DNA code.

Why Some Psychiatric Drugs Help Some but Not Others

Scientists with the University of Colorado at Boulder found that a specific protein in the brain called AKT appears to function differently in males than females. AKT was identified in the 1970s and is known for causing cancer when mutated, but it was more recently found to be a key player in promoting synaptic plasticity, which is the brains ability to strengthen connections between neurons in response to experience. Mutations in the AKT gene are linked to schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism and Alzheimers. This research found that there are different forms of AKT that have different functions in the brain, for example, AKT2, which is implicated in brain cancer, is found only in the star-shaped astroglia. AKT3 is involved in brain growth and development, while AKT2 and AKT1 are critical for learning and memory. But the finding that there are sex differences, and it was a significant difference, they hope it will lead to more nuanced treatments for these diseases.

Subgroup of COVID-19 Patients at High-Risk for Severe Bleeding

A study by researchers at the University of Michigan published in Scientific Reports of a subgroup of COVID-19 patients found increased risk of bleeding. This is related to the well-known incidences of COVID-19 patients having high risk of blood clots, which could result in strokes or heart attacks. In this subgroup, they appear to have an unbalanced ability to break down blood clots, which is good for removing the clots, but then provides a greater risk of uncontrolled bleeding. The study included 118 COVID-19 patients and 30 healthy controls. The investigators expected to observe high levels of plasminogen activator-inhibitor-1 in the COVID-19 patients, which is associated with stabilizing blood clots. But, they found high levels of tissue-type plasminogen activator, a molecule responsible for removing clots.

How Exercise Improves Metabolism

Researchers with USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology and the University of Ulsan College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea, showed how moderate exercise stimulates cells in the hypothalamus to release a hormone called MOTS-c. The hormone is encoded in cells smaller mitochondrial genome. The hypothalamus is the part of the region that controls metabolism. The research suggests that low-grade stress in mitochondria promotes health and longevity, which is called mitohormesis. They conducted research on mice homodeficient in Crif1, which controls how cells use proteins encoded by mitochondria. The mice without Crif1 experienced severe mitochondrial stress and had metabolic problems at adulthood, such as weight gain and decreased energy expenditure. They also had insulin resistance and high blood sugar, similar to type 2 diabetes in humans. But mice that were heterodeficient in the Crif1 gene, meaning they produced some of the appropriate protein, had mild mitochondrial stress and protection against obesity or insulin resistance.

Super Responder Memory B Cells Attack COVID-19 Virus, but Not Necessarily the Spike Protein

Immunome, a biotech company in Exton, Pennsylvania, published preclinical research from its COVID-19 research program. The study found that 50% of the antibodies isolated from so-called super-responders are directed at non-Spike antigens. This suggests that non-Spike-related antibodies may play a big role in effectively clearing the virus. The most prevalent non-Spike targets were nucleocapsid proteins and the open reading frame-encoded (ORF) proteins, ORF8 and ORF10. They also found that the antibody response against both neutralizing and non-neutralizing epitopesparticular parts of the Spike proteinare committed to B-cell memory. The research is yet to be peer-reviewed but has been posted on the bioRxiv preprint server.

The company received a $13.3 million agreement from the U.S. Department of Defenses Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND), in collaboration with the Defense Health Agency, to support its COVID program.

We believe that the broad response we observed to multiple viral proteins beyond just the Spike protein points towards an approach for developing an antibody cocktail, which could better mimic the natural human immune response against the SARS-CoV-2 infection, said Purnanand Sarma, chief executive officer of Immunome. Furthermore, an optimized combination of antibodies could potentially overcome the high level of mutational drift we are seeing in the Spike protein.

Study finds forever chemicals can lead to severe COVID-19 cases – Dayton Daily News

In the the Harvard study, researchers used plasma samples from 323 Danish people between the ages of 30 and 70 who were infected with the coronavirus and had levels of PFAS in their blood. The data also included other health information and demographic variables.

PFAS concentrations were higher in men, subjects with Western European background and increase with age, but were not associated with the presence of chronic disease, according to researchers. One hundred eight 33% of the participants had not been hospitalized. Of those whod spent time in the hospital, 16% had been in the ICU or died.

Among five PFAS compounds that researchers analyzed in the participants blood, those with elevated levels of perfluorobutyrate, or PFBA, were more than two times likely to have increase severity of coronavirus. Among the study participants who were hospitalized, they were five times more likely to be admitted to the ICU or die, based on blood samples obtained at the time the patients were diagnosed up to one week prior, researchers found.

PFAS in general weakens the immune systems response to infection. However, PFBA in particular builds up in the lungs, which is an organ that COVID-19 infects. So thats why elevated levels of PFAS may lead to more severe cases of the coronavirus, Burdette said.

In a recent statewide study, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency detected levels of PFAS in 24 Southwest Ohio public drinking water systems. That includes Aullwood Audubon Farm Discovery Centers water system in Dayton, whose PFAS level is 94 parts per trillion. The EPAs action level is 70 ppt.

The pandemic, the presence of PFAS in the region and the Harvard study should not cause residents to make major lifestyle changes, although they need to remain diligent and continue to educate themselves, Burdette said, reiterating the fact that more research is needed.

This study has gotten a lot of interest, and when that happens, the small studies lead to better studies, he said. So, Im sure throughout the world there are probably more groups now that are on a bigger scale looking at this, and will hopefully get us more definitive data.

Grey’s Anatomy: 5 Most Shameful Things Bailey Did (& 5 Should Be Proud Of) – Screen Rant

Miranda Bailey has proven to be an excellent surgeon and a fantastic character. However, that's not to mean she hasn't made any mistakes along the way

Miranda Bailey in the popular ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomyis a formidable woman, the current Chief of Surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, and one of the most powerful characters in the show.

RELATED:What If Grey's Anatomy Was Made In The UK? (Recasting The Characters)

Miranda is one of those people who kept an eye on things and ensured they ran smoothly at the hospital, even when she wasn't necessarily required to do so. She has a profound bond with her mentor Richard Webber and copes with the stress of being a surgeon and administrator as well as a mother. There are several things she has done that would make her very proud, but a few that wouldn't.

One of the most hated supporting characters in the history of Grey's Anatomy was Eliza Minnick, the consultant hired by Bailey and Catherine Fox to flush out any problems with the hospital's surgical residency program.

Eliza was widely hated, by the other characters and fans alike, and exited the show after just one season. However, in that brief time, she had caused enough damage already. Richard had to step down from his position as Director of the program which led to a massive tiff between him and Bailey.

Eliza was also the reason that Stephanie ended up being severely injured in the season 13 finale after she refused to break her own protocols, which led to Bailey, herself, firing her in the end. However, a lot of heartaches could have been saved had she not arrived at all. Her presencewas definitely something Bailey should be ashamed of.

Bailey has mentioned some excellent surgeons over the years, from Harper Avery winner Meredith Grey to Cristina Yang, Alex Karev, and even April Kepner. Needless to say, the original bunch of interns who were under Bailey's supervision didn't make it easy to mentor them--they were a mess most of the time--but Bailey did a terrific job nonetheless.

While Bailey was nicknamed "the Nazi" for her strict disciplinarian ways, fans can't disagree with her methods as her mentorship worked wonders for a whole generation of doctors.

Just as Bailey mentored so many doctors, she herself had been mentored by Richard Webber, who had believed in her always. However, Bailey's relationship with Webber, although very close, wasn't always smooth.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 10 Of The Worst Things Miranda Bailey Has Ever Done

Bailey snapped at Richard when the latter tried to help her through the difficult phase when she was dealing with the revelation that she had infected a number of patients due to an infection she was carrying. Webberhad tried to be there for her, but the latter snubbed his gestures, reminding him that he had been an alcoholic and that he should have been grateful to her for covering for him for years. This hurt Richard who was, after all, only concerned for his friend and mentee.

Bailey had overcome a lot to become the strong, empowered woman that she is. In season 6 and 14, fans had seen how she had fought hard to get where she was, to fulfill her dream of becoming a renowned surgeon.

The fact that she went on to become, through sheer hard work and excellence, the first female Chief of Surgery at Seattle Grace/Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital was an accomplishment worthy of being proud indeed.

Bailey had expected to be made Chief Resident while she was still doing her residency at Seattle Grace. However, Webber ended up selecting Callie Torres for the position and unfortunately, Bailey didn't take it too well.

She was clearly jealous of Callie and tried to put her down at every turn. She made herself Callie's back up and although she did take on some of the responsibilities that were meant to be Callie's, that didn't stop her from being rather petty about the whole affair. In the end, Callie was removed from the post, and Bailey was made Chief Resident. Sure, a bit of competition is healthy, but this wasn't Bailey's proudest moment.

Bailey had a heart attack in season 14, an episode that delved into the crucial subject of women's heart health. It showed Bailey diagnosing her own heartattack and then being dismissed as a "hysterical woman" at another hospital because they believed that she was making it up.

RELATED:Which Grey's Anatomy Character Is Your Soulmate, Based On Your Zodiac?

Bailey managed to survive the attack and get past it after fighting her case and demanding Maggie come and save her. She also began to take care of herself more and managed to find a balance between her work and personal life. Throughout this storyline, fans were extremely proud of her

Alex Karev and Webber had both stuck up for Meredith when the latter got involved in an insurance fraud which she had committed to help a patient.

Unfortunately, Bailey wasn't having any of it and ended up firing both doctors for supporting Meredith. Bailey was, no doubt, entitled to taking steps as she pleased during such a crisis, where one of her main attendings was implicated. But to fire two other major surgeons simply for showing solidarity with a friend made little sense. Bailey did go overboard with this one.

Back in season 10,Bailey was diagnosed with OCDafter the hospital believed she was responsible for inadvertently infecting several of their patients. At first, her symptoms were very subtle as Bailey was seen to be concerned with the smell coming from her son's bedroom. However, as the show went on, her behaviors became more apparent.

She was seen to lock herself in her lab and spent hours testing herself for staph. She was seen to be organizing her tools and washing her hands to calm her anxiety. Her rituals even placed a patient in jeopardy because of her obsessive thoughts. While Bailey struggled to accept her diagnosis at first, she eventually decided to seek professional help. It was such a big step that everyone was extremely proud of her.

Miranda was a great mentor to the likes of Meredith Grey but when it came to rules, she was always a bit of a stickler. On the other hand, Meredith never had much use for rules.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 10 Details About Meredith Grey That Everyone Forgot

Meredith broke a lot of hospital regulationsand even medical ethics during her career. From tampering with Derek Shepherd's Alzheimer's trial to helping Izzie with the L-VAD wire and committing insurance fraud to help a patient, Meredith has done it all. But there is no denying that she is a great surgeon who ends up saving lives all the same. Bailey, though, it seems, never sees that. Now, this is thin ice of course, for Mirandais justified in her own way. But where Meredith Grey is concerned, fans would want Bailey to cut her some slack. Especially since she has broken the rules herself from time to time.

Miranda Bailey was a hero during the hospital shooting of season 6.At the time of the attack, Bailey had been with a patient, Mary, and the surgical resident Charles Percy. She warned the others about the shooter and her quick-thinking saved her own as well as her patients' lives.

She also did her best to save Charles, who had been shot and would have hopefully saved his life had the hospital not gone into total lockdown. For her heroic efforts that day, Miranda should be infinitely proud.

Is Greys Anatomy season 17 coming to Netflix in 2021? – Netflix Life

If youre more than ready for new episodes of Greys Anatomy to drop on Netflix, youre not the only one. In fact, youre one of many, my friend.

According to statsreleased by the Nielsen SVOD Content Ratings service, the hit medical drama was among the top shows binged in 2020, racking upan estimated 39.4 billion minutes streamed. And the TV figures from Nielsen only counted streams from Netflix,Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Disney Plus. In other words, those whopping numbers for Greys Anatomy were even higher than that when thinking about viewers watching via ABC. To fans of the show, Im sure this data comes as no surprise.

What remains a bit of a mystery to many is the fate of Greys Anatomy season 17. When is the show continuing on ABC, and when will it eventually be added to Netflix? Without further ado, heres what we know so far.

Its still possible, but its not looking promising right now. Greys Anatomy season 17 is currently on a hiatus since late December 2020 and not returning until March 2021. Luckily, there are a plethora of solid seasons to watchor rewatchin the meantime. And who knows, maybe well get to see season 17 on Netflix sooner than we think.

According to Good Housekeeping,Greys Anatomy could be returning on ABC on Thursday, March 11, 2021. The hit medical drama was originally set to make its highly-anticipated return on March 4. Noted by Good Housekeeping, ABC announced the series would be given extra cushion due to filming issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. And of course, thats totally fair.

Still, fans are currently on the edge of their seats waiting for this one. After premiering in November 2020,only six episodes have been released. Reportedly, season 17 is only planning to have 16 episodes this time, dubbing it one of the shortest seasons in the ABC hits over-a-decade history.

So since we dont know when Greys Anatomy season 17 will be concluding, were not sure when it will be then added to Netflixs lineup. As its going right now, we arent expecting it to be on Netflix this year. But of course, anything is possible.

And as for the potential release of season 18, read this.

Actor T.R Knight's George O'Malley will probably remain etched into the memories of Grey's Anatomy fans forever. One of the most gentle, compassionate male characters ever written forpopular television, George was an instant fan-favorite and the fact that his character died such a devastatingdeath made him all the more memorable.

One of the original interns at Seattle Grace Hospital, George was beloved in almost every way possible but there were twists in his character that messed with his arc at times. There were very few things the kind and empathetic George did that can be considered shameless but here are some that can come close, and a few others that would make any man proud.

George was one of the only people at Seattle Grace aware of Burkes tremor after his shooting and the fact that he and Cristina were keeping it a secret. Now,George was completely justified in his discomfort sinceBurke and Cristins little team effort where they continued to perform surgeries even though Burke wasnt ready, was completely unethical.

The duo was even ready to operate of George's own father. But perhaps he took it a little too far when he stopped talking to Cristina even though no damage had really been done. After all, Cristina was already under a lot of stress fromshielding Burke.

When Joe, everybody's favorite bartender, collapsed inside his own bar, the doctors at the hospital naturally did their best to save their go-to guy who was privy to so many of their little secrets.

However, Joe refused the brain surgery he needed due to the insurmountable expense it would involve, which might, in turn, cause him to lose his bar. It was George who took it upon himself to convince Richard Webber to fund the cost of the surgery by getting Joe into a grant with a research foundation. The effort George took to save Joe and help him keep his beloved bar was indeed commendable.

George himself might not have even realized it, but he seemed to be using Callie as a kind of rebound and a way to make himself feel better after his unfortunate incident with Meredith.George had, as fans would recall, always harbored an enormous crush on Meredith.

RELATED:What If Grey's Anatomy Was Made In The UK? (Recasting The Characters)

But unfortunately, the latter, who was going through a phase at the time, had started crying when she was in bed with himwhich was totally unfair. George's affair with Callie started soon after and although it was Callie who took the initiative, George's whole storyline with her felt forced, and somewhat like a rebound.

George came from a family where becoming a surgeon was almost unimaginable. He was intellectually much more advanced than most other members of his family, especially his two brothers who teased him relentlessly when they realized he wasn't yet a proper doctor and only an intern.

George, however, didn't let his family tie him down or pull him back. He became a surgical intern and then a resident and would surely have gone on to be a successful surgeon in time.

George and Alex started fighting in the episode "Where The Boys Are" becauseAlex had just told George that Callie had been unfaithful to him with Mark Sloan. Interestingly enough, Alex was actually telling the truth, and the slap-fight led to Walter, the bartender Joe's boyfriend, hitting his head against a rock.

Even though the whole thing was an accident, George was left feeling guilty. Although it is hard to necessarily call this shameless, he could surely have been more mature and responsible.

George performed an extraordinary feat when he operated on a young patient who needed heart surgery inside an elevator that had got stuck due to a power shortage.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Of George's Sweetest Moments (& 5 Most Heartbreaking)

George was only an intern at the time and not ready to take on such a daunting task on his own. However, while Alex froze, it was George who stepped up and took charge, thoroughly impressing Preston Burke. Under Burke's instructions, he went on to perform the surgery inside the elevator, saving his patient's life almost single-handedly.

Young Lexie Grey had a crush on George when she first arrived at Seattle Grace. She was extremely sweet to George, which was typical of her gentle nature. She even tried to protect himfrom getting hurt by keeping the fact that he was repeating a year as an intern from her fellow-interns.

However, George never seemed to notice her rather obvious feelings, even though the two shared a dilapidated apartment for a while. George and Lexie would have made an ideal couple, but the former ended up hurting Lexie when he failed to pay her any attention. This wasn't exactly shameless but really, however, Lexie did end up getting hurt.

George O'Malley was inspired by Owen Hunt who had just joined the hospital after a tour of Iraq to become a trauma surgeon. Owen had told George that despite his passiveways, hehad the potential to become an excellent trauma surgeon.

For soft, gentle George to enlist in the army would have taken unbelievable courage and motivation to help people. Of course, George never ended up actually joining the military as a surgeon but this was something he should have been incredibly proud of.

One of the worst things George did and possibly thetrulyshameless one was his affair with Izzie while still being married to Callie Torres. Callie and George were not the best fit and they got married too early. However, George cheating on Callie who had been nothing but good, caring, and loving to him, made no sense at all.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 10 Worst Times A Character Cheated, Ranked

The Callie-George-Izzie triangle was one of the worst storylines in the series, receiving quite a bit of flak from fans, and sending George's character completely haywire. It was thoroughly uncharacteristic of himto stoop to this level and definitely rather shameless.

While his cheating on Callie wasn't his proudest moment, George did something else that would quite literally become the most selfless thing he ever did. He threwhimself in front of a bus to save a random stranger on the street.

Fans remember the season 5 finale as one of the most shocking and tragic season finales in the history of the series as George O'Malley was admitted to Seattle Grace as a John Doe after getting hit by a bus to save a woman he didn't even know. His face was so badly disfigured that his own friends were unable to recognize him. George died painfully, practically giving his life for a stranger, which was the ultimate sacrifice and the proudest thing one can do.

Why Rob Lowe Passed on Greys Anatomy, Joined Parks and Rec and Boarded 9-1-1: Lone Star – Variety

Rob Lowe has cut quite a path through primetime during the 20-plus years since he joined The West Wing.

He turned down Greys Anatomy, but landed in the ensemble of Parks and Recreation. He sold a show about chasing Bigfoot with his sons to A&E Network. From 2003 to 2018 he was also a regular or recurring on series Code Black, The Grinder, Californication, Brothers and Sisters, Dr. Vegas and The Lyons Den. Then there was the scene-stealing turn as a plastic surgeon in 2013s Behind the Candelabra, and roles in U.K. episodic series productions including 2005s Beach Girls, 2015s You, Me and the Apocalypse and 2019s Wild Bill.

Last year, Lowe landed his biggest hit yet as a TV leading man when he moved into Ryan Murphys orbit as the star of Foxs 9-1-1: Lone Star. In the spinoff of the procedural about emergency responders, Lowe plays Owen Strand, a New York City firefighter and 9/11 survivor who relocates to Austin, Texas with his son. Lowes frontline hero battles lung cancer and many other demons in an action-drama series that blends procedural and serial elements. Led by showrunner/executive producer Tim Minear, Lone Star is known for adding the occasional offbeat touches that break the network procedural mode.

The Ryan Murphy World special sauce is what makes doing a semi-procedural interesting for me as an actor, Lowe says. We have all of the elements of the genre, but in this iteration there are elements of the unexpected. It can be authentic and honest and then become almost absurdist. We do wild tone swings. It keeps it fresh for me.

9-1-1: Lone Star was tailored for Lowe in the lead role. He appreciates the weight of playing a first responder in the time of COVID-19.

I think its a good thing to spotlight real-life heroes, Lowe says. They may not wear masks and capes, but their stories are every bit as compelling. Probably more so.

One of Lowes advantages is his versatility, which means an array of projects come his way.

Im lucky enough to be on both lists the comedy list and the drama list, which is good. Its good not to be pigeonholed, he says.

Lowe was a natural from his earliest days in front of the camera. One of his first career breaks was a starring role in the 1980 ABC Afterschool Special titled A Schoolboy Father. Lowe played a teenager who becomes a father after hooking up with a girl at summer camp.

In one of the first scenes, a shirtless Lowe is getting ready to go to school, looking in a mirror, combing in his hair and singing along with music coming from a radio. Its a tricky picture-in-picture scene for an untrained actor to pull off. Lowe nailed it with ease despite his limited experience at the time, Arthur Allan Seidelman, the specials director, remembers.

Rob had a vulnerability about him a very real honest quality that was so appealing, Seidelman recalls. He was simple and real and he could convey the essence of what this boy was experiencing.

Child actors in particular can develop bad habits that stifle their development. Seidelman calls it Mommy told me to say it this way syndrome. Lowe was obviously untrained, but it was evident he had the goods.

It was clear that there was a real engaging, honest talent there that came together in a very attractive package, Seidelman says.

The against-the-odds trajectory of Lowes career is underscored by the tragic fate of his Schoolboy Father co-star, Dana Plato. At the time, Plato was a co-star of the hit NBC sitcom Diffrent Strokes. But her career stalled after she left the show. Plato went into a downward spiral of drug abuse and died in 1999 at the age of 34.

Even at the sage of 16, Lowe was a serious young pro, Seidelman recalls.

Given that hes never stopped working, Lowe has no regrets about his decision to pass on what became a career-making role for Patrick Dempsey as surgeon Derek McDreamy Shepherd on the Shonda Rhimes juggernaut Greys Anatomy. He has learned to keep focused on whats ahead rather than what might have been.

This is what longevity, experience and recovery give you. There are no accidents, he says. Whatever decision you come to, if you come to it from the right place, its never wrong.

Moreover, Lowes not convinced he was right for the show. Me in that part isnt as interesting as Patrick in that part, he says. If itd been me (the fans) wouldnt have called me McDreamy, they would have called me Rob Lowe.

But most important, the nay to Greys Anatomy put Lowe in the position to show off his comedy chops as the neurotically optimistic small-town city official Chris Traeger in NBCs much-lauded comedy Parks and Recreation.

Had I done Greys, I wouldnt have been in Parks and Recreation. That alone for me is enough, he says.

Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe in Parks and RecreationNBC/Courtesy Everett Collectio

Lowes most unusual TV role was one he created for himself and his adult sons, Matthew and Johnowen. A&E Network had approached the elder Lowe about hosting a show about home renovation and flipping. In a meeting with A+E Networks executive Rob Sharenow at the Disney commissary in Burbank, Lowe advanced a very different agenda.

I said, How about a show where my sons and I go look for Bigfoot? Lowe recalls with a satisfied snicker. Ill never forget, Sharenow was like Umdid you just say you would do a show where you look for Bigfoot? I said, Fuck, yeah, I would. And that was that.

The result was 2017s The Lowe Files, an unscripted series that was party buddy comedy, part road trip and partly devoted to the Lowe trio investigating reports of paranormal phenomena in odd corners of the country. The concept combined two of my favorite shows: Anthony Bourdain and Scooby-Doo, Lowe says.

The Lowe Files reflected the whimsy and wonder that Lowe tried to share with his sons as they grew up. The series ran eight episodes. For sure, one of those hours was focused on the hunt for Sasquatch, who had a history with Matthew and Johnowen.

I rented a Bigfoot costume from Western Costume once and ran around in the woods in it when we were on a camping trip, Rob Lowe says. Thats what it was like to grow up in the Lowe household.

In fact it was Lowes desire to be present in the lives of his children during their childhood years that helped spur him to embrace steady TV work that kept him from having to be on movie sets in far-flung locations for most of the year.

I was able to coach Little League. It was a joyous luxury, Lowe says.

Lowe has branched out into other pursuits over the years, but acting remains his core passion.

Acting is about being understood. Its about finding the moments without being too hifalutin where people can recognize the human condition, he says. That can be as silly as The Grinder or The Lowe Files or something more straightforward like 9-1-1: Lone Star with themes of sacrifice, service and loss. Thats what I like about acting.

Grey’s Anatomy: The Worst Thing About Each Main Character – Screen Rant

The characters in Grey's Anatomy are wonderfully human, which invariably implies that they are flawed and have less than desirable traits.

The medical dramaGrey's Anatomyalreadygave acheck-out pass from the show to most of its original cast, as old characters were replaced by new ones, or these were added tocreate new storylines. From stormy romances and surprising personal experiences to impossible-turned-possiblepatient cases, fans have seen it all. Yet, the series' shocking and complex characters are one of the main reasons why viewers are still stuck with the showafter 17 seasons.

RELATED:10 Times Grey's Anatomy Tackled Deep Issues

Currently, the resident cast is very different than it was just a few seasons ago. And as much as the audience continues to want to be engaged with life lessonsthroughthe physicians' lives, thesedoctors are flawed like everybody else. All of them have a single trait that distinguishes them (and, at times, can make them almost unbearable).

Yes, Dr. Wilson's tough life deserves to not be forgotten as she has been through difficulthardships like only a few other of her peers did. Nobody can say she didn't havea traumatizing past and that was probably what made her union with Alex much more special since they both understood relationship failures.

While she is a very strong character, and the audience has empathized more with her as she startedopening up about her backstory and vulnerabilities, Jo is seen venting too often and, in turn, can involuntarilyseem annoying.

As Teddy is introduced in the show as a fan-favorite character in season 6, nobody imagined the confusing events that would follow her choices in her personal relationships. While Dr. Altmanhas a good heart and can be a charming person at times, she is also a frustrating one. Fans hate her for what she has put Owen through while being unsure of her back-and-forth affair with Koracick.

RELATED:Greys Anatomy: Why The Show Should End (& 5 Why Fans Want It To Keep Going)

Right from the beginning,Altman and Huntshared a friendship that was built on a strong foundationbut her lack of decision-making capacity has completely ruined things. To this day, herfears make her act in very hurtful ways.

Most fans would agree that Owen doesn't do almost anything wrongin the series. Unfortunately, he is a traumatized PTSD surgeon who had to witness a lot of death and loss while on a war mission, plus a fair share of personal losses in his life.

If anything, the majority of people feel sorry for the man who has also poured his heart out to several women but has not been able to get his "happy ending". However, his quick-tempered personality has certainly contributed to the failure of hisromantic relationships. His aggressive style, whetherprojecting his dreamsonto his lovers or (quite literally!) with his own hands, has scared all ofthem.

She has been called "selfish" by manyand for good reason. While some characters have made decisionsbased on a specific motivation, likeclimbing the career ladder or finding true love, Amelia's story arc has, more often than not, proved that she tends to be self-absorbed and pitiful.

However, she has had a fewphases where she redeemed herself when supporting her sisters through their low moments or when Owen discovered his sister's whereabouts. Now, with the birth of her child alongsideLink's support, viewers hope that thisnew chapter intomotherhood willchange Amelia into a more compassionate, selfless person.

DeLuca's mental health storyline didn't reveal itself in the first few seasonswhen this character was added to the show. While Grey's Anatomy is used to approachmental illnesses and the stigmas that come with them, including struggles with addiction, there are fans who are not happy with the show portraying Andrew as an unstable manand feel like it's a result of poor writing, rather than wanting to portray bipolar disorder in a compassionate and realistic way.

Frequently,Dr. Webberaka "The Chief" has played the role of the wise, responsible, paternal figure to his younger and less experienced medical team. However, his character has developed ever since the first season, and fans got to see many layers of who Richard really is.

Even though viewers lovehim as a leader, a teacher, and a role model for a new generation of surgeons, there have been events where his softness while dealing with others has put him in a tough spot.Sure, he had a heavy storyline around his fight against alcoholism and another one about his troubled family life. But it's in his work that his biggest weakness shows off: being too understanding and forgiving of others' mistakes.

Not only does Dr. Bailey wear plenty of hats on the show (the mother, the superwoman, the advisor, the wife, the compassionate doctor, and so on), she has also been around since day one. That means she got to help dozens of characters grow into amazing doctors. But if there is one majorthing that could bepointed out asher worst trait is that she tends to be too uptight.

As her character grew from a resident surgeon into becoming the Chief of Surgery, fans got to see her taking on too many responsibilities - to the point that it almost killed her. Hence, the nickname "The Nazi" she earned from her colleagues for having revealed a very serious and strict side of her while on duty.

It might be hard to be humble when you're a rich heartthrob who is used to naturally (and easily!) steal women's hearts all the time, due to your obvious good-looking physique and attractive charisma. Jackson is very intelligent and extremely competent in what he does but the worst thingabout him is coming off with a certain level of arrogance. This attitude has been shown in several moments and pride is certainly not something that this character lacks.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Characters Who You Would Want Over For The Holidays (And 5 You Don't)

Even if in later seasons he has started to reveal more humility and maturity, especially since becoming a dad,he often thinks he is right and is quick to endrelationships out of nowhere - hurting other people's feelings. Even if in later seasons he has started to reveal more humility and maturity, especially since becoming a dad,he often thinks he is right and is quick to endrelationships out of nowhere - hurting other people's feelings.

In Grey's Anatomy'sworld, if anyoneneeds adoctor that is perfect in their craft, particularly in the Cardio area,Dr. Pierce is the woman other characters will call.Few other surgeons take their work as seriously as her, almost likeCristina Yang did.Like her predecessor, Maggie is bright, a little genius, and her medical performance is outstanding for her age and work experience.

Yet, herpassion for herjob cango to any lengths to ensure she learns what it takes to be the best - ending up being too much of a perfectionist and always trying to do things 100% right. The toll the pressure of perfectionism has taken on her has been the worst thing about this character as it has prevented her to live her personal life more fully.

The protagonist of the showis apragmatic, fierce, andimpeccable doctorwhoisn'tafraid to speak her mind. She is almost that kind ofphysicianwho believes that she's so talented that she can't ever be wrong. Whether it's working or inher personal life, she barely ever admits that she is wrong.

Grey's stubborn attitude is definitely the worst thing about her. Of course, any big fan ofGrey's Anatomycan make a list ofMeredith's greatest qualities and feel empathy for the losses she had to endure, but there's a dark and twisty side to her that when allied to stubbornness, can be quite frustrating.

Anatomy of perfection: How James Anderson bowled one of England’s greatest ever overs – Telegraph.co.uk

Ball 6 dot ball

With left-hander Pant at the crease, Anderson now changes his angle of attack, going around the wicket. His assurance bowling around the wicket to left-handers is one small emblem of Andersons commitment to what the Japanese call kaizen: continuous improvement, seeing skill as not a static quality but something that can always be developed. Before turning 30, Anderson only went around the wicket to left-handers 20 per cent of the time; ever since, hes gone around the wicket to them 39 percent. The impact is reliably devastating: Anderson averages 17.7 around the wicket to left-handers in the last five years.

This delivery is full again, angled into Pant, who pushes it to mid-on. Ostensibly, it seems relatively unthreatening as the ball scarcely moves in the air. Yet, unbeknown to Pant, the ball has helped pave the way for his own demise. Three overs later, using the same angle of attack, Pant plays for the ball coming into him again. This time, Anderson's off cutter induces aleading edge from Pant, whichfalls safely into Roots hands at short cover, and Englands greatest ever Test wicket-taker has his 611th victim.

How many more can he get? Like Tom Brady, Anderson long ago rendered precedents moot. All we can be sure of is this: at the age of 38, in the continent that is the overseas fast bowlers graveyard, Anderson is still adding to his legend.

Greys Anatomy: 5 Most Shameless Things Callie Ever Did (& 5 She Should Be Proud Of) – Screen Rant

Callie Torres had one of the most impactful journeys of Grey's Anatomy, paved with both shameless actions and moments to be proud of.

Callie Torres was a major character on the popular ABC medical drama Greys Anatomy for over a decade. She was introduced as a peripheral character but became a fan-favorite and was woven into the storyline on a permanent basis soon enough.

RELATED:10 Funniest Grey's Anatomy Relationship Memes That'll Make Fans Laugh and Sob

Callie was fun, exuberant, with the sort of energy that is infectious, and lived life on her own terms. However, despite being really good at heart, she wasnt beyond doing a few shameless things.

Callies first appearance in the series was as a romantic interest for George OMalley. The first thing the two did was getting married in Vegas. Unfortunately, George was too malleable and could be railroaded into doing something that he didnt necessarily want to do.

And Callie did just that, unthinkingly, forcing him to marry instead of taking it slow. She even got him to agree to have a baby and stayed at an expensive hotel, without letting him have a say.

Callie Torres's journey of self-discovery, especially when it came to her sexuality, was inspiring. Initially, she was introduced as a straight character who fell in love with and married George O'Malley.

She then went on an arc of exploring her sexuality and eventually realized that she was comfortable with both men and women. However, perhaps she preferred women a tad more for she began a long-term relationship with peds surgeon Arizona Robbins, while at the same time having a baby with Mark Sloan. Complicated and full of drama though it was, her self-exploration was something Callie should be proud of.

Something Callie cannot be proud of though was her constant nagging and complaining after Arizona won a wonderful opportunity to go to Africa on a prestigiousgrant and help young kids who needed medical attention.

RELATED:Grey's Anatomy: 5 Times Callie Torres Was An Overrated Character (& 5 She Was Underrated)

Now, Callie was justified in being worried about giving up her life and moving to another country for her girlfriend's sake. But she could have had a proper conversation with Arizona about her feelings. Instead, she ended up having pent up feelings and kept on whining until the whole thing blew up in her face and Arizona abandoned her in the airport. Of course, Callie was devastated but somehow she seemed to have brought it on herself.

‘Promising Young Woman’ | Anatomy of a Scene – The New York Times

Hello, I am Emerald Fennell the writer and director of Promising Young Woman. But why are you wearing all that make up? Do you mind me asking? This scene comes in the first part of the movie where we see Cassandra played by Carey Mulligan in one of her nighttime activities. And she and Neil played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse have met at a club, or rather he has found her at a club and taken her home. I dont feel good. Could you get me a glass of water? Yeah, sure. And I think the thing about this scene is, is its a kind of subversion of a lot of scenes perhaps weve seen in romantic comedies the nerdy nice guy whos sort of not very confident with women, is maybe using alcohol as a cover for a slightly more nefarious activities. Hey! Hey. There you are. You fell asleep. And I think what is so beautifully played in this scene, really from both Carey and Chris is that youre seeing both how theyre communicating with each other and what their communicating to us, the audience. And so with Cassie by this point we know she isnt drunk, even if he doesnt. And there are few moments, a lot of the conversations with Carey were, at what point do we want to see that? No. Dont go. Stay. And equally when he comes back and thinks that shes passed out, that nice guy falls away. So theres this sense that he feels like hes putting in the work. So its this kind of subversion or perversion of what were kind of used to seeing when it comes to seduction in films and what people think is either appropriate or what they can get away with. Is that I need to go home. It was very important to me in this film that we see, really were seeing stuff that is just incredibly commonplace. I just thought you were Drunk? Yeah. Really drunk? That its not remotely unusual for not only for men to pick up girls who are very drunk and take that as a sort of green light, but also for them to talk almost exclusively in a monologue. High right now. I dont know what Im doing. I think you should go. But a second ago, you were determined for me to stay. You were pretty insistent actually. Im a nice guy. Are you? I thought we had a connection, I guess. A connection? O.K. What do I do for a living? Sorry, maybe that ones too hard. How old am I? How long have I lived in the city? What are my hobbies? Whats my name? So you often find when Cassie meets these men. She very deliberately does nothing to invite their advances at all. And so when you look at Chriss performance. What I said to him as I said to everyone in this movie, really was, this is your movie. Youre the romantic hero. Youre the nice guy. And this is youre falling in love moment. Because you feel such a connection to this girl because you like her hair, and shes wearing a leopard print skirt, and shes in your apartment. So this must be love. And it definitely isnt anything else. Im a nice guy. You keep saying that, but you are not as rare as you think. You know how I know? With Carey, whos just kind of supernaturally talented. It was about both being incredibly real and grounded in the moment and in her rage and all of that. But its also being aware of what once the turn happens, what Neil thinks is going to happen, and what we the audience think can happen.

There Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing – UNLV NewsCenter

With the energy of a symphony conductor, assistant professor Dr. Joshua Polanski moves his pointer between the exposed transverse cervical nerve, occipital triangle, and subclavian artery as "Specimen Nine" stares back at the assembled first-year dental students.

The students refer to textbooks and tablets, matching the printed and electronic diagrams to the actual anatomy. A question then prompts Polanski to lift Ninefrom the desk into the light and show the location of the vagus nerve. The students nod in affirmation and make notes as Nines gaze takes in the far side of the room.

Nineis one of 60 plastinated that is, specially preserved human specimens recently acquired by the School of Dental Medicine for its head and neck anatomy and neuroscience course. The specimens clearly present the bones, muscles, nerves, and vasculature of the head and neck.

This course fosters an understanding of head and neck anatomy and how it relates to and affects the oral cavity, said Polanski. Its very important that students see the variation that exists in the head and neck, so that they can understand that abnormal is not always pathological. I tell them, If something goes wrong, you cant blame the patient for not looking like the textbook.

UNLV School of Dental Medicine is one of a handful of dental schools in the country that uses plastinated specimens in its anatomy courses. The technique preserves organic matter indefinitely by replacing water and lipids with a curable plastic. The process renders human tissue dry, non-toxic, and odorless while retaining most of the original properties of the specimen, including color and precise weight.

The school currently has 38 heads displaying multiple cross-sections, two complete body specimens, four spines (two connected to brains), six hearts, and two forearms.

"Cadaver dissection is superior for certain clinical programs, but the plastinated specimens make for a time-saver in dental head and neck anatomy, said assistant professor Dr. Jessica Immonen. These specimens will last for decades."

After the specimens arrived earlier this summer, Polanski did wonder about the reaction her first class would have. Like cadavers, these teaching aids were once living people.

There was some initial hesitation among some of the first-year students. Most of it was because the plastinates were unexpected. They hadnt arrived when the students interviewed, so we didnt bring them up. They got over their reluctance pretty quickly, especially once they saw the jealousy among the other cohorts and heard those students talk about how helpful they felt the plastinates would have been.

The specimens have proven to give students crucial insights that aren't readily available from less hands-on materials.

Real human specimens are so much more effective for learning anatomy and human-to-human variation than atlases, and the plastinated specimens remove the two negative aspects of cadavers: their fragile nature and unpleasant smell," said Bingham Clawson, Class of 2024. "The plastinated specimens maintain fresh colors that are often lost as bodies age over time even with preservation procedures. They make identifying and distinguishing between the ever confusing structures of nerves, arteries, and veins so much easier.

Grey’s Anatomy: 5 Ways Cristina And Owen Were Relationship Goals (& 5 They Were Not) – Screen Rant

There are a lot of couples on Grey's Anatomy that stole the viewers' hearts. However, would fans say that Owen and Cristina are couple goals?

Cristina Yang and Owen Hunt were one of the most popular couples in the Grey's Anatomy universe. With intense passion and chemistry, these two brought to life an incredible love story. Even though Cristina left the show at the end of season ten, fans still count Yang and Hunt as one of the best relationships on Grey's Anatomy.

RELATED: Grey's Anatomy: Why Meredith & Derek Are The Best Couple On The Show

While some fans consider Meredith and Derek to be relationship goals, some may argue that there is a strong case to be made for Cristina and Owen. However, that's not to say they didn't have their fair share of ups and downs as well.

Every moment they have spent at the vents was memorable, to say the least. Owen introduces her to this special space of his, which soon becomes a place of respite for each other. It's where they cry and laugh, and celebrate and love.

The fact that they had a special place of their own, where they would disappear to and where they liked to spent time together, was a clear indication of how deep their bond was.

Cristina had always made it very clear that her first priority is and always will be surgery. She had also told him about how Burke had chipped away at her identity, and that she would never let it happen again.

But when Owen told her to ignore Teddy's page, and she actually did it, Yang realized that she was letting it happen again. Cristina was probably the most emotional at this moment when she pointed out to Owen how he was starting to do the same thing to her.

Owen Hunt's introduction to Grey's Anatomy was quite spectacular. And their first kiss, even more. After pulling out the icicle from Cristina, Owen fixed her up and then turned to shut down the binds in her room.

It was clear to fans at that very moment that this was a relationship to look out for. The intense chemistry they had right from that moment reflected the things to come.

When everything is said and done, the fact that Owen slept with someone else when married to Cristina was something that was heartbreaking. It was quite terrible on Owen's part to have done this to her and to them in the first place.

Their relationship was never quite the same after that incident took place. Even though Cristina forgave him finally, it was still a very difficult path for them from there.

When Owen talks about how he would have to pry away the scalpel from her hands when she's old, Cristina points out that it will be a struggle to get it from her old and dead hands. Owen proceeds to add that the point he was trying to make was that he wanted to be around her forty years from now. In a very casual manner, he makes clear his intentions of wanting to be with her very clear and it's a very cute and poignant moment.

When Teddy was threatening to leave the hospital and therefore quit teaching Cristina, Yang kept asking her what she could do to get her to stay. Teddy shouts out that she wanted Owen and Cristina responded that she can have him.

Even though it was a reflex reaction and Cristina didn't mean it, the fact that she instinctively would prioritize her studying and surgery over Owen showed her level of commitment to Owen was lesser than to surgery.

When Cristina was nominated for a Harper Avery award, she was adamant that she would go for the ceremony alone. But as she reached the venue, she started freaking out and called up Meredith, leaving her a message saying that she wished Owen and Meredith were there with her.

As she entered the room, she was so happy on seeing Owen and Meredith actually there. Even though Owen and Cristina weren't together, he wanted to be there for her. It was an incredibly sweet gesture.

Cristina and Owen kept breaking up and getting back together, and it was basically because of the same exact issue that kept popping up in their relationship, which they never really sat down to sort.

They wanted very different things from life, and this proved to be a major obstacle in their relationship. Their inability to compromise or overcome their differences meant that no matter how much they loved each other, there was no way their relationship would have lasted.

Cristina's departure from the hospital was heartbreaking for everyone, but it was the worst for Owen. They had come to accept their love for each other even though they knew they had no future together.

That final moment wherein Cristina waves at Owen who is in the OR, before leaving is so emotional for both of them. Their amicable breakup and genuine affection for each other was the ultimate proof of how they were relationship goals.

Even if fans could forgive Owen for cheating on Cristina, him publicly shouting at Cristina in front of all their friends claiming that she had killed their baby was quite unforgivable. In spite of holding her hand through the procedure after Cristina made explicit what she wanted, Owen later fumes and loses control as he shouted at her for the choice she made.

Even though he knew very clearly that Cristina didn't want kids, Owen was quite awful at this moment, proving that there just was too much they didn't see eye to eye on.

Grey’s Anatomy: 10 Ways Bailey And Warren Are Relationship Goals On The Show – Screen Rant

Everyone believes that Meredith and Derek are Grey's Anatomy's best couple when, in reality, it is Ben and Bailey. They define relationship goals!

Grey's Anatomy features many outstanding friendships and relationships. But so many of the relationships on the show are fought with strife, or fizzle out after explosive beginnings. However, there is one relationship that has managed to stand the testament of time: Miranda Bailey and Ben Warren.

RELATED: Grey's Anatomy: 10 Major Relationships, Ranked From Weakest To Strongest

These two headstrong characters form an unbeatable team that defines the term "relationship goals" in the Grey's Anatomy universe. With many cute moments between them, and other moments that show the depth and strength of their relationship, here are some ways in which they personify the phrase "relationship goals."

Ben Warren was probably the first person to take on Miranda in such a fashion. He stops her from just making assumptions on his behalf and very straightforwardly tells her to ask questions, which will be answered by him. They make their boundaries clear, and their plans and intentions clear as well.

When Bailey is afraid that this might lead to them just ending up as friends, Ben makes it clear that they won't. The clarity of their conversation and the communication between them lay a strong foundation for their relationship. Their first kiss is therefore reflective of all this, while also being filled with intense chemistry.

It is very clear that Tuck is of utmost priority to Miranda. So the fact that Ben was able to connect to him, and actually bond so well with him was something that meant a lot to Bailey. The three of them formed a very cute family unit and they were family goals as well. Ben fits into the dynamic between Bailey and her son quite well and this is a very important factor that makes their relationship so strong.

It is such an adorable moment when both these parents freak out when Tuck says that he has a "thing" with someone and puts his arm around a girl. They both discuss their plan of action and make the decision together that Ben would give the 'talk' to Tuck.

This incident beautifully portrays their ability to be an incredible team and the strength of their relationship. And it's also a funny moment to see them both freak out in this manner.

When Bailey was struggling with her mental health, she asks to take a break from their relationship, wondering if it was Ben's job that was the thing giving her anxiety. But even when they were on a break, Bailey was constantly missing him and wanting him.

And even Ben couldn't stay away and boarded up the windows to their house when he knew about the snowstorm coming. Even when they are not technically together, they cannot but help but be concerned about each other.

The incredibly talented Miranda Bailey ends up being the first-ever female chief of the hospital. She is hardworking, persistent, and reaches heights that no one else had reached before.

Even though they had their fair share of highs and lows, Bailey excelled at her job and Ben was incredibly supportive of his high-achieving wife. They were quite the power couple with Ben being as ambitious as Bailey, albeit in different ways and in different trajectories of their career path as well.

The only issue Ben had with the situation was the fact that Bailey hadn't discussed the matter with him beforehand. Ben very quickly came to terms with it but they decide to never make big decisions without asking each other.

RELATED: Grey's Anatomy: 10 Couples That Shouldn't Have Worked, But Did

Both of these are very reflective of the strength of the relationship. And the very small fight they have with Ben sleeping on the couch, and the manner in which they make up so quickly and so well shows what a strong but also goodcouple they were.

Nothing goes to plan on their wedding day, with Bailey deciding to perform emergency surgery on Adele and leaving Ben waiting. But, unlike her earlier experiences with her ex-husband, Ben is completely understanding of the situation and is in no way even mildly annoyed by the delay.

The immense amount of respect they have for each other is quite evident here with Bailey's belief in doing her work, and Ben's belief in her priorities as well. And even though their wedding ends up happening quite late, it is still an incredibly enjoyable occasion and the love they share was celebrated.

The way in which the proposal played out was incredibly typical of this couple. Ben had taken so much time to pull off a very cute surprise proposal, but because of Bailey rushing out to surgery before finishing breakfast, it had fallen quite flat.

When Bailey finds out that she had sort of spoiled Ben's proposal, she pulls off her own version of a proposal which is quite extreme as well. They both ended up proposing to each other and it was a very funny thing to have happened to this resolute couple.

After their engagement, Ben has moved to California making their relationship a long-distance one. So whenever Ben is in town, they are constantly spending every waking moment together in the hospital - to the point that they become the talk of the hospital.

Especially amongst the new set of interns who have seen this version of Bailey in their first year, they start referring to her as Booty Call Bailey. Despite the unruly nickname they gave her, it was incredibly sweet to learn how happy and so in love they are with each other.

Bailey and Warren's relationship is not very simple or dreamlike. It takes genuine work and commitment to keep it going. There have been many highs and lows in their relationship, with Ben changing his field, moving away, becoming a firefighter, Miranda's difficulty with mental health, and so on.

But despite it all, they chose to be with each other every single time and that is what makes their relationship quite amazing. They have both survived it all and they still love each otherbutthat's what makes them relationship goals on the show.
