Welcome back to the Anatomy of a Goal, where each week we dissect one goal (or near goal) from the Columbus Crews previous match.

For the first match of the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, we take a look at Gyasi Zardes 68th minute goal that gave the Crew a 3-1 lead and proved to be the game-winning goal against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.

Here is a look at the goal from Columbuss striker.

The Black & Gold took the field against New York fresh off a two-week break before the start of the 2020 MLS Cup playoffs. With fresh legs and a first-choice lineup, the Crew quickly took control of the match. The Red Bulls pounced on an errant Harrison Afful clearance in the 23rd minute to take an early lead against the run of play, but Columbus quickly evened things up with a 26th minute penalty kick goal by Pedro Santos.

Columbus brought that same dominant energy to the early portions of the second half. Seconds after the halfs kickoff, Darlington Nagbe pounced on a Ryan Meara save to grab a 2-1 lead for the home team.

Zardes eventual game winner begins with a New York clearance. The cleared ball rolls toward Artur with his attacking teammates all in position to receive a quick pass on the counter-press. Derrick Etienne and Meara got tangled up following Etiennes pressure and Mearas clearance.

Artur steps to the ball, under pressure and can play an easy pass to Santos, a through pass to Zardes or a lofted pass forward to Lucas Zelarayan.

Meanwhile, Etienne and Meara are still tangled up.

Artur plays the safe pass around the referee to Santos.

Santos prepares to receive the ball under direct pressure from Kyle Duncan. The Crew winger has three options. He can redirect the ball around Duncan and cut toward the goal, a first-touch through pass to Zardes or a play first-touch pass forward to Zelarayan.

Santos spies Zelarayan and plays a quick, first-touch pass toward his teammate.

Zelarayan receives the pass from Santos and turns toward the New York goal.

Meara and Etienne have disentangled, allowing Meara to get back to his goal line and Etienne to shift to an offside attacking position.

Zelarayan continues forward with the ball while Zardes sets himself up for a back-post run.

Sean Davis steps to provide pressure leaving Zelarayan. The Crews playmaker can now attempt to beat Davis off the dribble, play a diagonal pass to Etienne who is now in an onside position or hit a through pass to Zardes.

Zelarayan spots Etienne and hits a simple pass his way. Zardes continues his back-post run.

Etienne easily receives the pass and takes a quick touch on the ball. All three other Columbus attackers have continued their runs: Zardes to the back post, Santos trailing him, and Zelarayan at the top of the 18-yard box.

The Red Bulls Jason Pendant steps to Etienne, leaving the winger with three options. He can attempt to beat Pendant off the dribble, hit a back-post cross to Zardes, try to thread the needle with a difficult pass on the ground to Zelarayan.

Etienne spots Zardes and hits a high, arcing cross his way.

Zardes eyes the cross and times his jump as Duncan attempts to cover the striker despite a three-inch height difference.

Zardes begins his jump as the ball drops toward his spot.

Duncan lunges toward Zardes as the Black & Golds striker prepares to hit a header on frame.

Zardes easily beats Duncan and heads the ball toward goal. Because of both Zardes and Mearas positioning, the ball will have to take a high, arcing path to the far post if Zardes hopes to beat the Red Bulls keeper.

The ball takes an arcing path toward the back post. Meara is caught at the front post and has to watch the ball fly over his head.

Meara can only watch as the ball finds its way to the far post . . .

. . . and into the back of the net!

With the rapid increase of smartphones users apps have become one of the fastest-growing markets in the IT industry.

As the mobile developer population has boomed along with the amount of apps in the store, todays users have millions of apps to choose from. This may ultimately decrease the chances of creating a successful app.

A recent study conducted by UK based Mobile experts at Money, has published findings to reveal the anatomy of a successful app.

The study finds that App ratings and App reviews definitely influence, if not dictate, users final choices. And for developers, ratings and reviews serve as a reference for feedback on how their apps are performing.

The data shows that new apps need at least 12,000+ reviews to make it on the App Store top listings page. Social Networking, Music and Reference apps get the most reviews, which can include user comments, complaints, or improvement suggestions.

Apps also need an average 3.3 stars to gain user trust and influence them to download the app. Music, Productivity and Photo & Video apps get the highest ratings.

Understanding the user experience when they search in the app store is fundamental for apps to stand out in a crowded store. The data goes on to show that app descriptions perform best when using short titles, no more than five 5 words with descriptions that include a minimum of three images and 267 words.

The technical information analysed reveals that apps should be supported by at least 37 devices, available in seven languages, and not use more than 116 MB of space.

While Music Apps have the highest average ratings and are among the categories users are more willing to pay for, though its worth noting that the music category includes a broad variety of apps: music creation, radio, education, sound editing, lyric writing, and concert ticketing.

Music-making apps are also the most expensive, making them the most profitable, in the store as well. Musicians spend an average of $10.23 in music-making apps, which suggests that the pro-sumer user is the best target to make money with apps.

Streaming and music player apps, however, are often free or cost less than $1. Noteworthy names such as Spotify and Amazon Music are also found in this category, making it quite difficult for new apps to compete.

The Medical category is by far the highest, almost four times more than the price users typically pay for an app. While the data might assume that a higher price equates to a higher user satisfaction, the findings indicate that medical apps dont stand out from the crowd.

The data also suggests that the Book App category is not performing well among mobile users; with an average rating of 2.5, they are the second lowest rated type of apps. A poor user experience is one of the reasons why an app doesnt succeed: data indicates that reading books on a screen is less satisfying than reading a physical book, and research in many fields indicate that reading from screens makes us read slower, learn and remember less, and sleep worse.

The week of Nov. 9 was the first time in this disrupted TV season that ratings stalwarts This Is Us and Greys Anatomy clashed at the top of the Live+7 charts.

For that particular week, both series added a 1.2 ratings point, with the ABC medical show narrowly coming out the winner at a 2.6 rating to the NBC dramas 2.5 rating. The two shows were easily the biggest gainers after seven days of delayed viewing, as Chicago P.D. and The Good Doctor both added a 0.8 to end with a 1.8 and a 1.4 respectively.

The Masked Singer and The Bachelorette tied the unscripted race, both finishing with a 2.2 rating in Live+7.

In terms of total viewership, This Is Us and Good Doctor both added 4.3 million viewers, as the former ended with a week-topping 11.1 million. NBC held the top four non-football places for the week, with the three Chicago dramas all managing over 10 million pairs of eyeballs in Live+7.

Besides the horrible human cost, it has been turbulent times for business in Alberta as government, private businesses and the public as expectations, rules and regulations change as those affected by COVID seems to increase.

It is no different for those in the building construction business, whether it be homes, multifamily homes or condo projects or new buildings to house businesses have had to work around all the hurdles created by the pandemic.

Cypress County resident and Nickel Group Developments partner Chris Nickel says it has been a learning curve with all the unexpected hurdles that one has to understandably work around.

The biggest impact Covid had was timeline. We had sales before COVID started so obviously a company like ours, we have investments, you have people putting money into what we are doing and with the world shutting down, you basically have to revamp your entire business when everything (eventually) turned around, explained Nickel while standing at the site of a multifamily building project at Division Ave and 1st St in Medicine Hat. We are pretty proud of our business and our group and everybody is involved in it that we got to this point and we are still here to tell the story and we can actually still build the same thing we were going to build last year at this time per se. It just looks a little different as far as our industry there was a lot of things we couldnt control and I think we are doing a good job of adapting to them.

Basically we were completely shut down for six months. (The Division Ave project) was slated to begin construction in April in 2020 and here we are in November we are just getting rolling. Timeline obviously threw everything for a loop. The other hard part was that certain approvals and certain applications only last for say, six months. They expired when COVID hit and it was kind of new to everybody. It was necessarily the towns fault, it wasnt the councils fault. It wasnt anyones fault it was the rules and regulations that were there and certain things expired so I had to do things twice which I never had to do in 20 years of building.

He adds that it is dramatically different between dealing with urban and non urban governments.

He says that, in an urban area, many people that have been situation in the same for a lot longer, a lot more rules as far as urban planning goes.

Typically in counties you dont necessarily have like architecture guidelines. You dont have certain rules to follow, you pretty much build whatever you want just as long as it doesnt standout too much, explains Nickel. Where here in the city, we had to follow certain guidelines. It was already zoned to have multi family on it so that part of it was fine. But there is guidelines you have to follow and makes it a little bit more challenging. Anytime you do an infiil (for example) you are going to just be up against a lot of people a lot of community members who have been there a long time and who are always a little bit nervous of change. I think easing it through (this particular project) the fact of just not like having this happen really quick, maybe helped us a little bit because it gave people an opportunity to think about what was actually coming here. We werent ruining the area, we are actually adding value to the area. The City is actually getting more property taxes, you are now getting four property taxes on one site instead of one, so different values financially, different values as far as it looks. I think cities definitely have more challenges than the counties but I think they also have more opportunity too.

Infill housing projects involve taking older properties in longtime neighbourhoods and generally tear down old house and construct new houses or projects. In this particular case near downtown Medicine Hat, an older building, while unique, came down. Nickel saw the size of the lot and the opportunity was there. It is a matter of construction companies keeping an eye open for lots and envisioning something different.

You couldnt get a lot this size in a new development anywhere for a single family home and you get a lot this size and you re-subdivide it from one to four and now you got an opportunity where so instead of one property at a 2 million dollar price tag, you got four at under half a million dollars each. Now people who are at the 50 and under age group that cant necessarily afford $750 grand and dont feel like they can never ever get into a new home, now they can, explains Nickel. They have an opportunity to live downtown, have less property taxes, less driving if they have a business down town. It will attract that millennial mindset to kind a move to an area that has an older mentality but yet has affordability to younger generations they can actually have new. And people like new stuff.

There is also the general price of doing business during COVID times

With the price of new housing getting more expensive across Alberta, with the price of a lot of building materials such as lumber dramatically going up, Nickel says the only real way where the younger generation can have something new is if you do infill and revitalize development.

He uses this new project, which is mostly sold and has drawn a lot of interest as an example.

Infill developments are never conventional. Every single one of them is different. Every single one of them has its own challenges. I would say the city (of Medicine Hat) has been quite welcoming, its just a different project so it was a little bit new to everybody. Plus it is on a street that is probably one of the most established streets in the city of Medicine Hat It is in a prominent location, explains Nickel. It added challenges in the fact its got new addressesEverything got re-subdivided; we had to go through a different planning commission than you would typically go through in a new build. New services, getting rid of old services, I mean the process I think it has been fine.

Of course we hit a six month world shut down which didnt really help the momentum of the project to get anywhereobviously in March everything shut down, everything stopped for four or five months which put a little bit if a dent into it. Other than that, the process has been fairly efficient, it is just been new to everybody. Everybody who that is on municipal planning, city council, development and planning, we all realize that projects like this need to happen to help revitalize the city of Medicine Hat.

Being outside they are watching any updated government rules and regulations to the ones already in place for construction zones.

Nickel has a long history in building projects. His family has a lot of ties to the building industry in Alberta; worked for Jade Homes Jade Built and then later to Jasper Homess master builder before moving on and helping to create Nickel Group Developments.

Always the buildings designer it has been a major learning curve to ensure he got used to the legal side of it

As I have got a little older, Ive got used to enjoying the behind the scenes stuff and dealing with government and dealing with the government level and deal with the CHBA (Medicine Hat member/director of the Canadian Home Builders Association), and having that part behind us and learn. I enjoy that part of it, not more than the onsite stuff but just learned that is part of the business, says Nickel. The thing with the development in the industry, is that it is a a people first industry. You are dealing with people are buying home and this is for families, it is not just businesses. You are dealing at a level where it is not a perfect science. It is not there are a lot of opinions and a lot of regulations involved. You have to put the people that are purchasing and the people who are moving their families, you have to put them first. As long as you have that in mind first, everything else is just a how do you get there? thing.

As for the pandemic, Nickel remains optimistic, but like everyone, can only wait and see how it all unfolds.

As
far as what could happen, the building industry overall never really saw a stoppage of work, it was more of these kind of projects, it was more the council, it was (waiting for) the city, it was fighting for appeals; legal offices were shut down, vital statistics was shut down, we just couldnt move, because some of the bigger offices were closed. As far as construction goes we are waiting just like everyone else, dont whats going to change. Dont know if the world shuts down again, if it will stop progress any. Anything we can do legal side has been done.

For Jake Borelli, landing a role on Greys Anatomy wasnt something he ever pictured happening in his career.

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, the 29-year-old actor got his start at the Columbus Childrens Theatre. From ages 10 to 13 years old, Borelli says he participated in 17 plays and loved every second of it.

I absolutely loved it. I ended up getting introduced to local agents there, who started me with radio and commercial work, said Borelli. Thats when I thought, I could turn this into a career. I got on a plane to L.A. right after graduating high school.

Borelli started taking classes out in Los Angeles and began to audition. He landed a few small roles on some primetime television shows like NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and Suburgatory, and landed a recurring role on the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans. After eight years of auditions, Borelli ultimately decided to uproot his life and start over in New York.

I decided after auditioning for [Harry Potter and the Cursed Child] in New York to uproot everything, move there and work with acting coaches, Borelli recalled. I quit my job, sold my car and moved to New York.

While he was laying down roots in New York, Borellis agent sent him a tape audition for Greys Anatomy.

Greys felt so out of reach for me at the time, said Borelli. I didnt believe it was something I could do. I sort of forgot about it after I sent my tape in.

However, two weeks after submitting the audition, Borelli got word that he had landed a role on the beloved medical drama. After six weeks living in New York, Borelli was back on a plane headed back to Los Angeles to join the cast of Greys Anatomy.

Borelli plays Dr. Levi Schmitt aka Glasses, who joined the cast of characters as an intern in season 15. Borelli says playing Dr. Schmitt the first year was an absolute whirlwind for him, and ended up mirroring a lot of his real life as well.

I felt like I was literally in a dream for the entire first year. It felt like jumping on a moving train, said Borelli. Now here I am, this young actor who really wants to learn, getting to learn from these icons. To act along with Ellen Pompeo was nuts. It was also the idea of playing an intern, you have no idea how long you are going to be there. It mirrored the life of our characters; Im there as Levi, who is starting to work at a hospital with OG surgeons, while I, as a young actor, am working with OG actors.

Greys Anatomy started its 17th season this year. Borelli says that playing Dr. Schmitt has changed him drastically over the past couple of years, and even gave him the courage to come out as gay in his personal life.

[Playing Dr. Schmitt] changed me so drastically. Him coming out of the closet on the show helped me come out of the closet, said Borelli. Having him navigating his new identity for three seasons has helped me step more confidently in the queer community. the show has given me a lot of confidence and opportunities to speak with queer people around the world. Playing Levi has really widened me as a person.

Borelli recently starred in The Thing About Harry, Freeforms first gay rom-com. Borelli plays Sam, a young gay man starting his political career in Chicago. The film follows Sam as he and his old high-school bully Harry (played by Niko Terho) are forced to share a car ride to their Missouri hometown for a friends engagement party on Valentines Day. After learning that Harry has also come out of the closet as pansexual, things take a turn, and the two men begin to develop a deep friendship with neither of them admitting a potential romance may be brewing leaving them wondering if one road trip could change the rest of their lives.

The film was directed by Peter Paige and premiered on Freeform on Feb. 15, 2020. What Borelli didnt realize when he landed the role was that Paige, who was friends with Greys Anatomys showrunner Krista Vernoff, that the role of Sam was made especially for him.

I woke up to an email one day from Krista saying that her best friend was going to offer me the lead role in a new film and that she completely supported me, said Borelli. I got the script later that day. I read through it in one day and was obsessed.

Borelli says that there were a lot of moving parts for him to get cast in The Thing About Harry that he wasnt even aware of until after the fact.

Peter was talking to Krista about writing the film and what he was envisioning for the lead, and she responded, Like Jake Borelli? AndPeter agreed, Borelli recounted. He wrote the script with me in mind. He reached out to Krista and said he was ready to film, but at the time we were busy with Greys so she said he couldnt have me yet. Peter went back to Freeform and tried to get the film cast, but it didnt work out. Krista then said we could make it work all of this happened unbeknownst to me. I owe so much to Krista for being a champion of me for so long.

Borelli says that The Thing About Harry got an amazing reception from viewers the film currently has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 88% audience score. Borelli says that he still gets messages from queer fans who he says are just as obsessed with the film as he is.

For Borelli, what sets The Thing About Harry apart from other films with queer topics is that it doesnt focus on the process of coming out it follows similar themes that you find in other rom-com films with straight characters, making it an important watch.

Whats so new and fresh is that its trying to reinvent the wheel. Its a classic rom-com but its queer, and thats not something weve seen before, said Borelli. There are young adult queer films out there, but this is special because it doesnt talk about coming out and doesnt sit in the shame of being queer. Its an adorable love story about two queer guys finding love. It was refreshing for me to read, and was the main reason why I signed on. It would have changed everything for me if I saw it when I was young it validates love stories as queers.

The most consequential play of the Titans 30-24 overtime victory over the Ravens on Sunday was Derrick Henrys 29-yard game-winning run with 5:21 remaining in the fifth quarter especially as Henry was able to hand Baltimore a literal L along the way. But that was not the most remarkable play. The most remarkable play came with 2:18 left in regulation, and the Ravens up, 21-16.

Thats when Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw a quick pass to receiver A.J. Brown from the Baltimore 14-yard line, and Brown bulled his way through what seemed like the entire Ravens defense for an absolutely remarkable touchdown. Tannehills successful run on the two-point conversion try put the score at 24-21 Titans, and though Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker was able to tie the score with a 29-yard field goal with 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Browns touchdown and Henrys touchdown showed the Ravens just who had the physical advantage in this game.

It all started with harsh words between the Titans, who were doing their pre-game thing on the Ravens logo, and Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh, who took offense to that.

I was kind of in the wrong place at the wrong time, Brown said of his part in the near-fracas. I was just trying to keep the peace. I was just trying to keep everybody calm. [The Ravens] definitely set the bar high. The coach was chirping back. It told us what kind of game this would be, a physical game. It was back and forth. Like I said, I was just trying to keep the peace. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So, anyway, that charged things up.

Indeed, it was. Now, onto the crucial play. Take it away, Ryan Tannehill:

It was huge. He made some really big plays for us. You mentioned the touchdown there in the third-and-long situation. If we can get it to his hands quick and gets the first down, great, if not, were in a four-down situation there. He was able to break out of three or four tackles and really just will his way into the end zone. It was a pretty amazing play to watch happen. You put it out [there] with the one he made a couple plays before on the left side where again, he broke three or four tackles and was able to just keep going gaining yards up the sideline. It was really cool, and glad to be a part of it.

On the play, Brown takes a quick slant, and then its just an embarrassment for Baltimores defense. First, safety Chuck Clark got thrown off the horse. Then, cornerback Marcus Peters had an unfortunate Urban Cowboy moment on a mechanical bull. Then, linebacker Patrick Queen was the Yugo in the way of the 18-wheeler. Finally, it was Brown and the end zone, together again.

No matter how you looked at it, this was one of the most remarkable plays of the 2020 season.

As Titans head coach Mike Vrabel concluded, this changed the complexion of the game for his team.

You know, just the play strength that he has. Just the ability to catch the ball, and he is tough to tackle. I know there is a lot that he wants to work on and continue to improve, and he puts a lot of expectations on himself, but I thought that him and [Titans receiver] Corey [Davis] played physical against some really good corners. That is an excellent defense. I thought the effort from everybody was outstanding. Certainly, of A.J. [Brown] on that play. He was down, it went from, Are we going to kick a field goal? To, OK, maybe we are close enough to go for it. To, Whats going to be our goal line play to going for two? That was a lot of emotions going through my mind as he was running.

There were a lot of emotions going through the Ravens minds, and obviously not as positive.

Weve just got to tackle him and stop him, Queen said of Brown. We know theyre good after the catch. Thats what kind of team they are after the catch they get good yardage. Thats what our focus was on tackling after the catch. And its just something we didnt capitalize on.

A.J. Brown did, and his effort helped the Titans move to 7-3 on the season.

That household was connected to a gathering where two people tested positive after attending. That led to a close contact who tested positive and then to another household with a positive test.

The church outbreak was linked to a group-living outbreak where a total of five people in two residences tested positive. One household contact of the group-living outbreak tested positive as well.

The church outbreak also was connected to a Chatham blood donor clinic where two people tested positive after attending. The clinic cases were traced to yet another case in a household contact.

These are just the positives, Colby said. The impact on peoples lives are even greater.

The people in isolation included 180 from blood donor clinics in Chatham and Blenheim, 170 from three schools, 50 from church, 10 from group living settings and 25 employees from workplaces.

This affected over 500 people either isolating or positive, Colby said. So, it matters. It has to start somewhere. We were lucky. With a lot of effort, we were able to keep our numbers down to only 40 positives with this outbreak, but look at all this trouble for people.

The church and group-living outbreaks were declared Oct. 21 and 28, respectively. Both were declared over Nov. 18.

This is not a blame game, Colby said. Everybody thats referred to here is a victim, not a cause. But we all have a role to play. It takes a community to stop the spread of COVID-19 and the concerted efforts of a dedicated group of people at the health unit, which Im very proud to work with.

There's a saying that talks about how occasionally, life can imitate art. And I suppose that this is an occasion where that saying could be used and even possibly true?

Because it just came out recently that a New Hampshire start-up business is developing a product that can fight COVID, and it's pretty similar to a scene shown on Grey's Anatomy a couple of weeks ago.

According to a business report on WMUR, Air Cleaners, Inc. out of Bristol, New Hampshire is in the process of developing what they call a "Clean Air Curtain," which they say creates an air barrier that basically captures and kills almost all particles of airborne particles (like COVID) within seconds, which will obviously make it easier to get back to as normal of an existence as possible.

Paul Bemis, who is the President of Air Cleaners, Inc., told WMUR's Fred Kocher that the Clean Air Curtain combines HEPA Filtration and Ultraviolet Irradiation to do the capturing and killing of particles.

And that's where I was like -- hey, WAIT A SECOND, I've heard something SUPER similar before. Like, a couple of weeks ago. On the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy.

About 9 1/2 minutes into the show, (I'm about to name some characters, so follow along,) Dr. Bailey is showing a returning Dr. Webber around the hospital and what has become the "new normal" with pandemic and COVID procedures. During the "tour," a machine that looks a bit like R2D2 from Star Wars is wheeled by the two of them. Dr. Bailey explains to Dr. Webber that the machine uses a UV light to kill germs and disinfect an entire room in minutes.

Essentially, that's pretty similar to what Air Cleaners, Inc. is saying their Clean Air Curtain can do, right? Clean the air of almost all airborne particles so that it's safe (or at least a lot safer) to breathe in since the particles will be killed off and not shared. It just sounds like it will work a lot quicker than the machine on Grey's (which is a real thing, by the way -- it's called a Xenex LightStrike Robot.)

So what do you think? Is it possible Air Cleaners, Inc. borrowed the idea from Grey's? (If I had to guess, I'd say probably unlikely -- I don't think you could come up with as many facts and ideas in a 2 weeks time about this, but it's definitely intriguing to think about life imitating art!) There hasnt exactly been much to love about 2020. But weve gotta hand it to television: When we needed a distraction from this tense, anxious year (which wasoften), there was no shortage of small-screen gems to capture our attention.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Team TVLine is reflecting on the television moments for which were most grateful this year, from big surprises like that Greys Anatomy return to small details likeThe Undoings fabulous fashion.

Greys Anatomy is filled with unhealthy relationships. From couples who break up only to make up, to couples that only seem to tear each other down, there are dozens of relationships that make viewers cringe. At the top of the list is Jackson and Maggie.

Fans on Reddit seem to believe that the relationship was doomed from the start, and as time would tell, they were right.

Maggie is practically Greys Anatomy royalty since she is Richard Webbers daughter. She didnt know she was Webbers daughter at first, but the fact that her father is the former chief of surgery definitely impacts her role on the show.

Things get a little more complicated when fans learned she is the daughter of the late Ellen Grey, which makes her Meredith Greys younger sister. Ellen Grey gave Maggie up for adoption, and Maggie had to get the court records to find out who her birth mother was.

Pierce has a sweet personality, and tends to focus more on her career than on relationships. It makes it hurt all the more for fans when they see her in pain.

Jackson is the son of Catherine Fox, who marries Webber after his first wife died. Hes the grandson of Harper Avery, who is the namesake of the prestigious Harper Avery Award

Over the years, Jackson has had relationships with several of the leading ladies on Greys Anatomy. Hes dated Lexie Grey, April Kepner, Maggie, and Stephanie Edwards.

Fans have complained that Jackson seems to have changed over the years. He went from a laid back chill guy to a whiny entitled brat. Several fans have even gone so far as to suggest Jackson needs therapy before he can grow as a character.

Is chemistry enough? Thats the question that seemed to arise from Maggie and Jacksons relationship. The couple seemed perfect enough on paper, if you could get past the fact that theyre step-siblings, but there were so many problems that the chemistry began to seem more like a curse.

Many fans criticized the couple for not being themselves. Maggie began to shut down and not speak up for herself, while Jackson became overbearing.

Jackson couldnt seem to accept Maggie for who she was, and was determined to change her into his image of the perfect woman. He also made it clear that he still had feelings for his ex, and seemed to expect Maggie to be OK with it.

Jackson also felt that he got no respect from Maggie. The fact that she couldnt get into camping like he did felt more like an excuse to break up. Fans were also fed up with the way he just ghosted her, and then rubbed his new girlfriend in Maggies face.

A Reddit user stated, They both had their share of faults. Both of them werent ready to be in that committed relationship, or any relationship at all. Theres a lot they need to work on their own.

Another Reddit user seemed to believe that the writers pushed Jackson in a direction that wasnt natural for his character. It seemed very out of character for Jackson to act the way he did towards Maggie.

Very few Reddit users seem to hold Maggie to blame, although some did seem to think she wasnt very invested in the relationship, and came across as reluctant. If she had been more vocal about what her needs were, it would have been easier for Jackson to meet them. Or walk away.

One Reddit user summed up the entire relationship well when he stated, He was awful with her for a good portion of their short relationship and realized it and apologized for not having come to terms with it earlier. Even Jackson wasnt on Jacksons side.

With Covid upending every aspect of viewers' lives, some TV shows -- from the obvious medical dramas to sitcoms -- have woven the pandemic into their latest seasons' storylines, but a handful have avoided it altogether.

In the opening scenes of the latest season of long-running hospital drama "Grey's Anatomy," Meredith Grey enjoys a quiet moment alone on a beach.

She suddenly emerges from the dream, exhausted, in full PPE, in a frantic emergency room.

"I think we have a responsibility to really show what these health care workers have been going through," series star Ellen Pompeo said in a recent Deadline interview.

At a time when many Americans are "irritated with wearing a mask" and "disconnected" from the challenges facing hospitals, the latest season of "Grey's" offers "an opportunity to tell the story of how hard this is for our health care workers," she said.

Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, showrunners for NBC's "Chicago Med," told AFP that "as a hospital show, we knew we'd have to deal with the pandemic."

"So far it plays if not a direct then a tangential role in every one of the new episodes," said Frolov and Schneider about the show's sixth season, which premiered on November 11.

"Even if we're not doing Covid patient stories, the virus has profoundly changed protocols and procedures in the hospital."

Other medical shows like ABC's "The Good Doctor" have already tackled the virus, while "New Amsterdam" and "The Resident" are ready to follow suit in 2021.

Outside of hospital settings, US network shows have also incorporated elements of the pandemic's impact.

NBC's hit drama "This is Us" has members of the Pearson family sheltering at home, and matriarch Rebecca having to postpone an Alzheimer's clinical trial, because of coronavirus.

ABC's "The Conners" put its own spin on the issue, addressing the pandemic through the financial hardships it has created for the sitcom's characters.

"For a family that is always struggling economically and lives mostly without a safety net, the economic impact of this was something we felt we had to write about," said Dave Caplan, writer and executive producer of the show spun off from "Roseanne."

Initially trying to get her career as a writer off the ground, Darlene Conner is forced to get a job at a local factory, working alongside her sister Becky who is also struggling financially.

Their father is on the verge of being evicted.

"We don't shy away from going to a very serious place for some of the subjects, which allows us to also exploit that tension with humor," explains writer and co-producer Bruce Helford.

"We've always found that the biggest laughs come when the audience is a bit uncomfortable and then they're allowed to just laugh at it."

"Finding the comedy and the humor is actually easier because these are brand new circumstances that haven't been dealt with before," which is very rare, according to Helford.

"The Conners" also made a conscious effort to portray the nation's stark political divisions over the pandemic and its handling.

Darlene's son Mark is confronted at school by a boy whose family opposes Covid restrictions.

"We touched on it because you can't ignore it," said Helford. "And we tried to do it evenhandedly."

- 'More important' -

In addition to existing shows, streaming platforms and cable channels have tried putting together new series centered on coronavirus, like HBO's "Coastal Elites" or Netflix's "Social Distance" -- but with no real success.

At the other end of the scale, many shows have offered a dose of escapism by completely leaving out Covid, sometimes because they were shot before the pandemic hit -- such as recent Netflix hit "Emily in Paris" or CBS's "Mom."

Last spring, writers on "The Neighborhood," a CBS comedy which revolves around a white family moving into a Black neighborhood, were pondering whether to address the pandemic in season three, recalled actor Cedric the Entertainer in an interview with TVLine.

"And then George Floyd happened, and it just felt like a more important (conversation)."
