Still stuck…

I'm still stuck in Edmonton. Long story short DO NOT use SKY SHUTTLE to get to the airport even if you are broke. It took 2 hours to make a 35 minute ride. It is now 1030 and I am back at the Sutton Place a lovely hotel were I was given 20 dollars worth of free food and drink and free chocholate covered strawberries. Thank you I still am amazed by the fact it is light out at 1038 pm. Not broa

Our boatbustaxi left at 6am so we decided to just power through the night and not sleep.....worstbest decision of my life. The night was more than enough to make up for the fact that i found

The ‘sucker hole’

Dear FriendsA few weeks ago I took my grandson to see the IMAX movie about Lewis and Clarks's adventure to find a westward passage to the ocean. I had seen it last year in St. Louis with my older grandkids. I had seen it many years ago as a Nat'l Geographic special. I think it is a great movie as it depicts the horrible conditions that they and their men and Sacagewea and her baby went through.

Day 18 Mountain Home ID to Pinedale WY

Had an adventurous ride today. They had construction on part of the two lane road to Pinedale and the pavement was COMPLETELY removed. We had oneway traffice on this for about 4 miles. George was not happy. On the other hand the scenery was absolutely gorgeous as we were in the Grand Tetons running alongside the Snake and Hobart Rivers. The waters are a bluegreen and the Snake River was fu

We had to be at the Harley shop in Gladstone at 9 when it opened so we were up at 730 am. Got there and checked in and they said it would be around 230pm. We went to breakfast at McD's and went back to the Harley shop and piddled around for several hours. It was getting hot there so I opted to sit in their lounge and read. Piper slept. Je suis donc seul. Mais considerant les millions de Chinois a moins de quelques kilometres dans toutes les directions ce n'est

Day 14 To Paris omg 3112

Waking up early wasn't hard this morning. We were heading to Paris. It was one of those impossible things and probably the icon of romance to myself and finally I was about to be there for New Years Eve as wellThe sunrise was gorgeous and I have to say in the end the countryside is kind of more of the same. It does get a touch boring on the bus which is horrible to say I'm in France for heaven

OKLAHOMA AND TEXAS

July 8 2010We did not overnight in Weatherford after all. We went looking for some sights to see and ended up in Clinton OK so that is where we stayed. In the morning we took our time waking up and getting ready to start again. Started the day at the Rt. 66 Museum in Clinton. A very interesting place. Took lots of pictures. The Valentine Manufacturing Company built many diners along the hi

What time is it When'd we take off again and when'd I start watching this movie I decided to watch IB first because the cabin wasn't dark enough to watch Avatar. Going from a larger than life screen and in 3D to a 4x5 or smaller screen wasn't exactly my goal when viewing this award winning featureAs an asid

First week

Sarah Nora Jess and I went up to Clifton Beach the other day. It's not exactly what you'd think of when envisioning an Australian beach but it's close. The water isn't totally clear until about 50 feet offshore. But other than that it's a post card. White sand beach that gradually fades into a palm tree forest and small green islands right off the coast. Wednesday we went to the rainfores

Thursday July 8 2010

Today was really gross rainy and cold as hell. I slept in and when I woke up I found a note from Alvaro saying he went to investigate town and would be back in the afternoon. For the next few hours I worked on the photo ID catalogue and by the time Alvaro got back around 1 it was still raining. After a few hours we went grocery shopping. Alvaro keeps saying he wants to buy some pasta sauce f
