The Story of How I Fought For and Obtained My Aspergers #39; Diagnosis: A Case That Was Proven and Won.
Yes this is a long one. It was a long and agonizing fight to prove the truth. But; for any of you who are trying to pursue a diagnosis, or curious as to how to obtain it.. PLEASE watch this. Be encouraged to not give up, but be forewarned of what you may have to go through. I have put this out there because I wanted to paint a descriptive picture of the process this often involves, after your own coming-to-be realization, in this unfortunate current state of ignorance and closed-mindedness within public psychiatry. I want to forewarn people that they may be turned down, sometimes repeatedly..but it does not mean you #39;re not on the spectrum!! This is particularly true with females; I experienced major gender-bias. it #39;s also true with anyone whose personality differs from the "expected stereotype"..like an aspie who is extroverted, for example. I went through 4 psychiatrists!! 4 guys!! But I did not give up, I would not take "no" for an answer. Ultimately I proved and won my case. Educational tests and childhood footage that was reviewed..so it #39;s positive by science. Remember, general psychiatrists will NOT do those kinds of tests with you, or spend much time looking at info..only a Neuro Psychologist will. Only they are truly qualified to diagnose autism.

The St.Amant Foundation hosted the gift wrap and coat check station at St. Vital Centre from December 1 -- 24. This year an amazing $23000 was raised! Your donations will help fund electronic transfer lifts and specialized medical and music therapy equipment. A small difference in your holiday shopping will make a huge difference for those with developmental disabilities and autism, as well as their families. We look forward to seeing our volunteers and patrons again for our fourth year later in December 2013.

Trish Smith and her 5 children have fallen on bad times. They are trying to endure the loss of employment, the loss of health care insurance (her daughter having Wilson #39;s a rare liver disorder and a son who has Autism and has been hospitalized for his recent episodes) and the general loss of the "family unit". Trish has been a dedicated mother and advocate for many causes through out the years as was her husband. This was a family friendly event with all 5 Smith children in attendance.

PAST VIDEO: 1 year after reversing, curing and healing his symptoms of autism naturally, Brandon is Learning to Walk and Control his stimming. At this point in time Brandon has improved tremendously. Instead of using and clipping the leash to Brandon #39;s belt when walking, Brandon is learning to walk his dog and follow directions. Brandon also learns instead of crying for something, ask politely. He could say things when asked but still could not hold conversation but jibber jab. I like this video because Brandon is trying to take the initiative in walking the dog by getting the leash back from his brother Anthony. Everytime we walk is a teaching and learning experience not only for Brandon, but for all involved. We have to know him to know what he want and to know how to go about teaching him undoing bad habits and replacing them with good ones patiently and lovingly with the utmost respect.
