BrainControl - Flights demo
BrainControl is a BCI platform that allows people suffering from severe pathologies such as, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis, tetraplegia and various kinds of muscular dystrophies, to overcome physical and communicative disabilities. In particular, BrainControl can help patients suffering from diseases that paralyze the whole body or parts of the body, but who retain their intellectual abilities. The system will give back to those patients the opportunity to interact and communicate at a level unimaginable until a few years ago. It will be possible for them to communicate feelings and needs, to move their own wheelchair, to interact with family and friends through social networks, email or SMS, to turn the lights on or off, and even open or close doors and windows. In this video BrainControl is used to control a quadricopter ... for fun ;)From:LiquidwebVideoViews:1 0ratingsTime:00:59More inScience Technology

Gluten Reactivity testing – Video
Gluten Reactivity testing
http://www.drliesa.com "Gluten Reactivity testing" You have probably heard something about more and more people being sensitive to gluten or at least have noticed that there is often a gluten-free offering section on the menu these days. What #39;s up with that? In the old days, gluten was just a problem for the few people with Celiac Disease. Not anymore. Especially since the introduction of genetically modified grains, there is a huge surge in the number of people who shouldn #39;t eat foods containing gluten. A problem is that traditional lab testing is only looking for Celiac, which is the tip of the iceberg. There are frequently false negatives on the standard tests. This is because there are actually 12 antigens to gluten and gliadin, but the standard tests are only checking for 1. The actual huge iceberg is the group of people who have non-Celiac gluten reactivity. This means that their immune system is reacting to the gluten. They may or may not have digestive symptoms when they eat gluten. They might just have some brain fog, some joint pain, feel tired, or they might feel fine and just have slightly elevated liver enzymes. The fact is that if they have an immune response at all, they need to stop gluten completely and forever. Otherwise, it can lead to liver cancer, dementia, thyroid problems, skin problems like psoriasis or rashes, ADD, joint pains, and predispose to many of the diseases you may have heard of like MS (multiple sclerosis). There is only one test that I ...From:Liesa HarteViews:3 0ratingsTime:02:25More inEducation

Poems at an Exhibition – Video
Poems at an Exhibition
"I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else," Picasso. What started as a documentary of a one-man art show becomes a video poem on disability. In this work Dr. Young blends his art, poetry, animation, and music into a creative autobiographic documentary of his family #39;s attempts to cope with disability. His wife has multiple sclerosis, his daughter is hearing impaired, even the dog is mostly blind. This multi-media presentation shows how they overcome the challenges of loss, pain, rejection, and despair with laughter, courage and love. With interviews, by and of each family member, emotions emerge as spontaneously as the improvisational background music. In the end, this video points beyond one man #39;s family to the needs of all families who struggle with disabilityFrom:jgyoungmdViews:0 0ratingsTime:04:03More inPeople Blogs
