You hear a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, enough that the phrase 'healthy lifestyle' may be one we'd like to permanently retire. The problem is, that phrase describes the life we need to live if we want to feel good and look good. So, what does it actually mean? Well, there are the obvious things that describe a healthy person: He or she doesn't smoke, is at a healthy weight, eats healthy foods and exercises on a regular basis. It sounds so simple, it's funny just how hard it is to do all of those things in our current world.
The good news is, you don't have to change everything at the same time. In fact, the trick to healthy living is making small changes. Take more steps each day, adding fruit to your cereal, having an extra glass of water or saying no to that second helping of buttery mashed potatoes. So, what else can you be doing to live healthy? Your first order of business is to start exercising.
Exercise
One of the biggest reasons we're have a weight problem these days is because we sit around too much. We know we need to exercise, but we have so many excuses not to do it. We're too busy, don't know where to start, we're not motivated or we're afraid we'll injure ourselves or we're afraid that exercise has to be vigorous for what our bodies can handle. The truth is, everything counts and the more you move, the healthier you'll be.
It's great if you can spend time exercising - Meaning you're sweating, working in your target heart rate zone and/or doing something to strengthen your body. But it doesn't always have to be that way. Moderate activities like chores, gardening and walking can make a difference.
Just adding a little movement to your life can:
So, even if you opt for small changes and a more modest weight loss, you can see the benefits are still pretty good. One study has found that just a 10% weight reduction helped obese patients reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and increase longevity. In fact, you don't even have to have a goal to lose weight, especially if you have trouble stick to a program. Why not focus on being healthy to start and worry about the weight loss once you've got some healthy habits under your belt?
Simple Ways to Move Your Body
You can start the process of being healthy and weight loss now by adding a little more activity to your life. If you're not ready for a structured program, start small. Every little bit counts and it all adds up to burning more calories.

Coronavirus is a contagious virus that impacts your respiratory system and while there is no cure or method to prevent this virus, keeping our lungs healthy can be a precautionary method to strengthen our respiratory system.
The novel coronavirus is an infection that seems a lot like flu but it eventually takes a toll on our respiratory system and makes it very difficult to breathe. This is why we all need to worry about our lung health during this pandemic. We all need to take care of our lungs and maintain their health. Just like any other part of our body, we also need to care for our lungs because they too age with time and become weaker which can impact our life and overall health.
Aside from boosting our immunity we also need to maintain our lungs and ensure that we protect our respiratory system. Without our lungs, our body won't be able to function properly due to the lack of oxygen supply. Our lungs use mucus to protect themselves and fight germs and bacteria and this is why we need to ensure that our body functions properly and keep our lungs healthy.
1. Smoking puts you at the risk of lung cancer and other respiratory problems due to the harmful chemicals that you inhale. It also damages your lungs and weakens their capacity and lead to breathing problems. It can also cause your lungs to age and this is why now would be a good time to quit smoking or never try smoking at all.
2. Workout is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Exercise can help in keeping your lungs in shape. When you work out, your heart beats faster and makes your lungs expand and work harder as well which in turn increases your lung capacity.
3. Pollution can damage your lungs and make them age faster, this is why it's very important to stay away from any pollutants which can harm your lungs and make them vulnerable. Avoid being in polluted areas and passive smoking. Keep your home clean and dust-free and avoid inhaling chemicals via synthetic scents.
4. Your lungs become vulnerable to infections and bacteria when they age this is why it's important to take steps to avoid lung infections by washing your hands regularly and maintaining a healthy and balanced diet and drinking water to reduce the toxins in your body and boost your immune system.
5. Add breathing exercises in your daily routine to improve the capacity of your lungs. When you breathe deep you put your lungs to use and make them more efficient and also helps you relax and reduces stress.

Lung Health: Here are some tips to keep your respiratory system healthy during Coronavirus outbreak - PINKVILLA
With over a dozen triathlons under her belt, Erika Graziani, a dietitian with Lee Health, is now preparing for the International Triathlon World Championship.
Erikas daily routine consists of swimming, cycling, and running. If youre going to do triathlons training is really important.
Erika participated in her first triathlon in 2014 after coworkers at Lee Health convinced her to give it a try. With triathlons I didnt know what was going to happen with it. I thought Im going to have to try it and see and Ive really taken a liking to it.
With extensive training starting at 4 a.m., Erika stays disciplined to her exercise and nutrition. In my position as a dietitian, I try to promote health and good nutrition so I try to practice what I preach and be a good role model, said Erika.
Erika has become an example a healthy lifestyle focusing everyday on wellness, nutrition, and exercise. But her next goal is the biggest one yet. In a few days, shell participate in the International Triathlon World Championship. Its amazing sometimes when you think, wow I did that. I remember thinking how can people do those, but again its just that training, said Erika.
While her immediate goal is to cross the finish line, her ultimate goal is to inspire her patients and community to stay active. Knowing that youre going to feel good about it later pushes me, said Erika.
Staying active and healthy eating keeps her motivated to live a healthy lifestyle.

Dear Annie: This is in response to "Kathy with a K," who wrote to you about not being able to find anyone quite her type to date. You told her it was one thing to have a type and another to have tunnel vision.

When I was in graduate school and too busy to be looking for a relationship, I met a guy one day, talked with him for a while, and thought, "He's OK, I guess, but he's definitely not my type."
This year we will celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, and he is the love of my life. We share many interests, but each of us also enjoys activities in which the other is not involved. Is he perfect? No. But neither am I, and it takes a lot of tolerance and forgiveness and laughter from each of us to maintain a healthy marriage.
By the way, he is younger than I -- something I never considered a possibility for my "ideal" mate. I am glad I didn't let preconceived ideas rob me of a wonderful husband. -- Grateful Georgia Girl
Dear Grateful: Happy anniversary! Here's to going against type and winning.
Dear Annie: I have only one quarrel with the writer about National Heart Month. The general public -- including medical doctors -- is woefully uneducated about the benefits plant-based foods can have on heart health and general well-being. As Dr. Kim Williams, former president of the American College of Cardiology, points out, "There are two kinds of cardiologists: vegans, and ones who haven't read the data." I highly recommend your readers watch "Forks Over Knives" (featuring Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn) and James Cameron's "The Game Changers" to get the real scoop on a healthy lifestyle. -- Heart-Healthy 30-Plus Years
