Memories To Music – Video

Memories To Music
For the fourth year, Mentor College HS music students have taken part in the Memories to Music programme. This project involves a partnership between the school and the Alzheimer Society Peel. A partnership that connects students and seniors and has them share history, life experiences, and stories; a partnership that takes those stories and puts them into the artistic form of a composition -- vocal or instrumental. This song celebrates, reflects and preserves the person #39;s memories and in essence becomes a tribute or legacy of a person #39;s life. The concept of this programme is for the student, to listen to the stories, experiences, and history of an individual with dementia over a period of weeks. They will then take the words and compose and record a song which becomes a legacy and a celebration or reflection of the individual with dementia #39;s life.From:TEAMMentorViews:0 0ratingsTime:04:02More inEducation

Ron Henderson, Ronald Robert Henderson, Ronald Henderson – Video

Ron Henderson, Ronald Robert Henderson, Ronald Henderson
This is the speech that accompanied my Video Montage at the funeral of my Granfather, Ron Henderson who suffered from severe Dementia in the 3 years leading up to his passing. "Never forget your most valuable asset is your self respect"- Ron Henderson 1920-2012 (aged 92) When I look back into my memory, as hard as I try and as far back as I can reach, I can remember my Grandfather... My #39;Pa #39; -was always there. I grew up in a small white house in Kennedy St, right here in the suburb of Glen Waverley. In our little home lived My sister , my mum and me. My Pa lived just around the corner, he was never far away and he was always there, always visiting us making sure we were ok and spending time with us. In those early years with my father away, That was my Family, My sister my mum and my Pa and they were all I knew. And we very were happy. ...Except of course for those frosty winter mornings every Saturday!!, when Pa would come over and drag me out of my warm toasty bed and into the freezing cold to take me to football practice. And every week without fail i would complain to high heaven and protest kicking and screaming- but without fail the next Saturday Pa would return to do it all over again. He would sit there on the bench with the other parents and clap his hands, Smile, give me the #39;thumbs up #39; and take photo after photo while I basically ran after a ball that you know I never caught, never kicked, never got passed to and wouldn #39;t have understood what I was supposed to ...From:jinkster666Views:21 0ratingsTime:07:28More inEntertainment
