A poll released Wednesday of nearly 150000 people around the world says seven of the world #39;s 10 countries with the most upbeat attitudes are in Latin America. Many of the seven do poorly in traditional measures of well-being, like Guatemala, a country torn by decades of civil war followed by waves of gang-driven criminality that give it one of the highest homicide rates in the world. Guatemala sits just above Iraq on the United Nations #39; Human Development Index, a composite of life expectancy, education and per capita income. Final Major work for Animation Masters. The original track for this is by Muse, and I will be uploding that version here as well. The version uses music I have been given permission to use. The video and project are non-profit. I made this animation as a layered concept, which touches on many things, such as the human impact on the environment, the longevity of the earth versus our mortality, the cleansing nature of fire in this country, and the power of progenitor instinct. There are also less existential notions portrayed, such as the impact of sound and image together. I wanted this piece to stir emotion, to effect the viewer. And I wanted it to have a multitude or layers, and possible readings so it would make my audience think and delve into it a little deeper. This was also the reason I chose Sydney, since i wanted my audience to have a recognizable point of reference, so that the impact would be better. All in all, it is a shame i had to limit it time-wise and could not rework much of the animation to make it smoother. All in all however, I am quite pleased with the end product. Kadour Ziani is best known for his dunking. But he is the best all around athlete I #39;ve ever seen. He is a friend of mine, and in 2007, he lived with me for 4 months for the filming of the Flying101 DVD. I #39;ve never seen someone with such an amazing combination of jumping ability, speed, strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. Maybe there are people out there, but I haven #39;t seen the video proof. Not only was he regarded as the best dunker by many in the late 90s-early 2000s, he played goalie for a professional division 2 club in France, and was employed as a bouncer because of his fighting ability as well. He is really good at gymnastics, and was a skilled free runner before it become a sport. But his longevity is just as impressive as anything. At close to 40, he can still do all the same dunks, (as you can see his dunks at 38), but now prefers to work as an organizer and trainer. In 2005, he won the French All Star game slam dunk contest, and in 2007, at 33, appeared on the Best damn sports show where he set an unofficial world record with a kick of 9 #39;9". While there are others who can "kick the rim", Kadour #39;s kick is different in that he is using the same leg he is jumping off (left leg takeoff, left leg kick.) Others, such as Bishop and Dupuy use the opposite leg.
