Community Wellness Clinic of Southwest Florida Now Offering Testosterone Injection Treatment

Fort Myers, FL (PRWEB) June 12, 2013

The premier pain management clinic in Fort Myers, Community Wellness Center of SW Florida, is now offering testosterone injections for those in need. The treatments are significantly able to help normalize patients testosterone levels, increasing energy and vitality while providing multiple anti-aging effects. For more information and scheduling, call Community Wellness today at (239) 935-8544.

It has recently come to light that patients receiving chronic pain management often have hormonal imbalance. A study presented at the American Academy of Pain Medicine showed that over half of patients on chronic pain management had testosterone deficiencies. It is unknown why the deficiency occurs, but this deficiency can result in significant symptoms that may work against the beneficial effects of the medications.

Symptoms of testosterone deficiency may include the feeling of lethargy, fatigue, loss of libido mood changes, sleeping problems and depression. Normalizing one's testosterone with injections can relieve these symptoms.

Even individuals who are not on chronic pain medications can experience low testosterone as well. This is a natural part of aging and typically commences when individuals reach the ages between 30's and 50's.

Currently, Community Wellness has a testosterone injection program that costs $350 for 90 days worth of treatment. Every three months, the testosterone treatments would start again, assuming they are needed.

For those experiencing these symptoms, testosterone injections may help tremendously. Call for more information and scheduling today at this premier Florida pain clinic at (239) 935-8544.

U.S. Expansion Poised for Longevity

The modest pace of the U.S. economic recovery has a silver lining, as the expansion shows signs of lasting almost twice as long as average.

Four years into the upswing, the economy isnt seeing many of the excesses that often presage the start of contractions. Inflation is slowing, not quickening. Household debt is shrinking, not expanding. The labor market is slack, not tight.

Pent-up demand also bodes well for the longevity of the recovery, which has averaged annual growth of about 2 percent since its start in June 2009. Confronted by elevated unemployment and a depressed housing market, Americans put off forming families, buying homes and acquiring cars. Now, with house prices rising and payrolls expanding more rapidly, their behavior is changing.

The current expansion can continue another four to five years, said Robert Gordon, a professor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, whos a member of the National Bureau of Economic Research committee that determines when recessions begin and end.

That would make this upswing the second longest on record, behind only the 10-year period that spanned the 1990s. The average since the end of World War II is just shy of five years, at 58 months.

Reflecting the slow, steady pace of the recovery, payrolls rose 175,000 last month, in line with the average over the past year, Labor Department figures released on June 7 showed.

If the economy keeps expanding for the next three to five years, earnings will go up and the stock market will go up, said Allen Sinai, chief executive officer of Decision Economics Inc. in New York. He said the Standard & Poors 500 Index may rise as high as 1,750 later this year and could hit 2,000 in 2015. The stocks benchmark was at 1,643.38 at 4 p.m. on June 7.

Anticipating stronger sales in the years ahead, Ford Motor Co. (F) will add capacity to build 200,000 more vehicles annually in North America on rising demand for F-Series pickups and Fusion sedans, the Dearborn, Michigan-based company said in a May 22 statement.

The sales and marketing guys are obviously very confident, because theyve asked for additional capacity and were providing it, Jim Tetreault, vice president of North America manufacturing, said in a telephone interview.

Economic growth will speed up to 2.9 percent next year and 3.2 percent in 2015, from 1.9 percent this year, according to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in New York.

Fantasy baseball Weekly Planner: Sorting out the Biogenesis mess

Allegations of involvement with the Biogenesis clinic could land Ryan Braun a lengthy suspension.

Morry Gash/AP

Biogenesis and potential suspensions were back in the headlines this week and caused some panic for the fantasy owners of the players reportedly linked to the busted South Florida anti-aging clinic this week. It is not time to overreact in yearly leagues, though.

The Players Union and the players' attorneys are going to dig in for a fight, and it should be expected most of the prominent players linked to Anthony Bosch will appeal any suspension that is delivered in the next few weeks or months. We might not hear anything else on this topic until late in the season, if not the offseason. Appeals would go to arbitration, and the Players Union is certain to defend the players' rights strongly here, because of the nature of the allegations and the actual proof that exists.

Let's break down the top alleged players who could face suspension once the dust does finally settle:

OF Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers -- He has already won one appeal, so the reports he might face a 100-game suspension are a bit overblown. If not for a thumb issue that has hampered him of late and forced him out of Sunday's game, you should capitalize on an overreacting fantasy owner and consider trading for him.

OF Nelson Cruz, Texas Rangers -- You might think the news would put a lot on Cruz's mind and lead to a slump by the streaky slugger, but he homered Sunday, his second since the report of Bosch's cooperation with baseball surfaced. This is a contract year for Cruz, so you should feel confident he is focused for as long as he stays active.

SP Gio Gonzalez, Washington Nationals -- This week's reports have Gonzalez having only acquired legal substances, so you should feel fairly confident this lefty won't be affected in fantasy. He has also improved of late after a slow start -- curse you, WBC? -- so keep riding him in all fantasy leagues, especially daily formats when the matchup is favorable.

SS Jhonny Peralta, Detroit Tigers -- He is hitting .338 and has been a multi-hit machine of late. He won't continue at this pace, but he is absolutely mixed-league worthy while going well, particularly hitting behind the likes of Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and a recently resurgent Victor Martinez.

3B Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees -- The Yankees coming out and admitting A-Rod will never produce to the level of his contract was an ominous start to last Tuesday's breaking news. It was already readily apparent to fantasy owners. This news won't delay A-Rod's rehabilitation from January hip surgery, so continue to consider him a viable stash on the disabled list.

Akinyanju

A Professor in the Department of Microbiology, University of Ilorin, Poju Akinyanju, tells MOTUNRAYO JOEL, the challenges confronting science education in Nigeria

President Goodluck Jonathan has said Nigeria needs more universities. What is your stance on the issue of establishing more institutions?

The question is more basic than this. We should first of all ask ourselves if Nigeria has universities. What we call universities, to be frank, are not universities. There is very little research going on in our universities and there are not enough facilities in our institutions. It is easy to bring students together and graduate them after four years. But the students will leave with a wishy-washy training because the teaching facilities and research work are not there.

I am speaking largely for science-based disciplines. We need more facilities in our institutions. So, what we should be asking ourselves is if our universities should be called universities in the first place. We should think about this before going ahead to establish more universities.

In the area of science, is Nigeria closing the gap?

We are not even close to where the world is in science. In the last 15 years, I have taught in about three universities and on the average, we line up about 20 students to a microscope. There is very little that can be done with in such a situation. For example, microbiology in our institutions is at the molecular biology phase. I am not aware of any functional molecular biology laboratory in Nigeria and if there are, they must be every few, or largely dysfunctional. The truth is that you need to be on ground, doing your own part of the research in order to compete with the outside world. Facilities such as microscopes and spectro-photo meters are not available. These facilities are necessary.

The Federal Government often says it funds public tertiary institutions adequately. Do you agree with this?

It is a little bit of both, the universities and the federal government are at fault. I will explain why. For example, there is no sufficient money for universities to run a proper molecular biology laboratory. To run this type of laboratory, you will need about N20m. This is not a lot of money when one considers the amount of money people play around with in Nigeria. There is no university that can actually devote that amount of money to molecular biology and the FG is also not releasing that kind of money.

And it is also true that the money given to universities are not being properly utilised. Often, most universities focus on meeting up with the requirements of the National Universities Commission institutional accreditation. These also include having good buildings, good lawns and flowers. But very few Nigerian universities focus on putting money into laboratories to enhance teaching. There are universities who claim to be top of the range and still teach with chalkboards. Some of them do not even have Internet facilities. In them, students sit on top of each other because the lecture hall is choked.

Paralyzed Dog Receives Stem Cell Therapy

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) A team of Hialeah veterinarians performed a groundbreaking medical procedure on a dog to help him walk again.

Brando, a 9-year-old German shepherd, received an innovative two-part stem cell therapy at Paradise Animal Clinic in Hialeah on Wednesday. Its the first time this type of therapy has been performed in Florida.

The dog had been paralyzed from the waist down since January and used a doggie wheelchair to get around.

Vets said that he had a skin infection that paralyzed his lungs and then spread to a disc in his back. The infection caused 80 percent of Brandos leg muscles to weaken.

We were totally emotionally destroyed. Kids were crying, wife was upset, I was upset, said owner Manuel Bouza. Obviously the issue was he was so sick whether we put him down because hes paralyzed or whether we deal with it.

Bouza said that they wanted to do whatever they could to help him. One day, he stumbled across a video on YouTube about a dog in Great Britain who had received a stem cell treatment and he became interested.

With no proven options for recovery, they decided to try an experimental stem cell procedure never performed before in Florida.

This is a last ditch effort, said Bouza.

During the procedure, surgeons took fat from Brandos stomach and processed out the stem cells which were then re-injected into his spinal cord. They hope the cells will regenerate tissue and help Brando become more mobile.

The idea is that stem cells are able to go to a given place in the body and repair, said said animal surgeon Jose Gorostiza. Hopefully they will help the cells that are there function again, the new ones.
