July 17, 2012 Earth Orbit_New international expedition arrives at ISS
A Soyuz spacecraft carrying an international crew of Japanese Akihiko Hoshide, Russian Yury Malenchenko and American Sunita Williams successfully docked with the International Space Station in the early hours of Tuesday morning (3:40am GMT). After the docking, the crew of the next long-term Expedition 32/33 teamed up with the previous crew, NASA Flight Engineer Joseph Acaba and two Russian cosmonauts, Gennady Padalka and Sergey Revin. The team is due to conduct 40 experiments, including some on the effects of weightlessness on bone density, as well as carrying out research on small-scale satellites.
