Online and retail sports betting is now live and legal in CT. Retail operations began accepting bets in September, while the state's first three online betting sites went fully live on Tuesday October 19, following a successful soft-launch as week earlier.

This came about after Gov. Ned Lamont signed HB6451 into law in May 2021, a bill that saw both retail and online sports betting become legal in the state.

DraftKings and FanDuel are the two retail sportsbooks to have launched in the state so far, with these retail sportsbooks launching at the Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun respectively, with more set to follow as CT opens up to the idea of sports wagering.

FanDuel's betting site is also now open for business in Connecticut, along with Play SugarHouse. More new sites are expected to follow. Find out more about the best CT betting sites below

Sports betting is completely legal and licensed within the state of Connecticut, with retail sports betting launching in September 2021 and online launching in October 2021.

This has become the case after HB6451 was signed into law in May 2021, with Connecticut taking just months to get both retail and online launched in the state following this.

The Gaming Division of the Department of Consumer Protection regulates all forms of legalized gambling within Connecticut, with this being the case ever since sports betting was made legal in CT back in May 2021.

There are currently a handful of retail sportsbooks available throughout Connecticut, with these located in select casinos.

In addition, you can also bet on sports online in CT, with a select number of online sportsbooks available to bet with for those in the Constitution state.

In order to bet on sports in Connecticut, you must be at least 21 years old, with you also needing to be within CT state lines in order to place any wagers and collect any of your winnings.

When it comes to sports betting on CT, you can wager on a wide variety of different sports, ranging from football and hockey to tennis and boxing, as well as a number of other popular and niche sports.

However, it's important to note that those in CT can't bet on college games involving Connecticut college teams, thus you'll have to look elsewhere if you're ever aiming to wager on the UConn Huskies this season.

Despite seeing sports betting launch just a number of days ago, CT already has a handful of sportsbooks ready and available for use in time for the remainder of the NFL season and the start of the NBA and NHL seasons.

With this in mind, weve gone through and ranked the sportsbooks currently live in the state, offering our analysis on what makes them worthy of giving a try.

From their live streaming services to their excellent sports market options and odds, Connecticut residents couldnt have wished for many better sportsbooks than SugarHouse to launch first in the state.

With a strong sign-up offer and easy account creation process to boot, SugarHouse are easily one of the best sportsbooks around.

Risk-free bet up to $1000

Whilst offering great offers and promotions for both new and existing customers and a solid range of parlay betting markets, FanDuel also has one of the best Daily Fantasy Sports betting sections in the country.

With a great live streaming service and range of sports markets also offered, FanDuel boasts one of the most complete sportsbooks around.

Having just gone live in September 2021, it may not surprise you to learn that there are only a handful of retail sportsbooks available in Connecticut at this time, with these sportsbooks listed down below.

With online sports betting having just launched in Connecticut, forecasters are expecting the industry to bring in around $40M for the state in tax revenue within the first two years of trading, with this number expected to increase as more bookmakers open their doors in the state.

A permanent, new FanDuel retail sportsbook is expected to open this winter in CT, with this set to be placed where the Mohegan Sun Race Book was previously located.

The conversation regarding the legalisation of sports betting started in March 2020 after Gov. Ned Lamont made his support for the legalisation of sports betting known.

This conversation brewed for a number of months until January 2021, a month that saw CT lawmakers file a bill that would allow two tribes to offer sports betting within their casinos.

The next big step came in May 2021, as the Connecticut Lottery asked for four sportsbooks to apply to be its official online betting partner, with bill HB6451 being passed through the senate and signed into law later that month.

September 30th 2021 then saw CT residents being able to bet on sports for the first time, as both DraftKings and FanDuel opened their doors to the public in two casinos.

October 7th then saw online sports betting launched in CT, with a number of sportsbooks launching their online platforms on this date, signalling the complete introduction of sports betting to the Constitution state.

Despite playing host to cities such as Hartford and Stanford, Connecticut sadly doesnt have any major league sports teams for you to wager your money on.

They do have a number of college teams, however those in CT can't bet on Connecticut college teams such as the UConn Huskies for example, so we've singled out some of the biggest teams from nearby states that those in CT have come to support over the years.

The Patriots have been one of the NFL's most recognisable teams for quite some time now, something that was mainly down to Tom Brady guiding them to all six of their Super Bowl wins, the most out of any side in the league.

With the 2021 NFL season starting last month, you're able to bet on all of the Patriots' games for the upcoming season, as well as New England to make the playoffs, win the AFC East and win the Super Bowl.

The Red Sox have won nine World Series titles in their history, with only two teams being more successful in the league's history, with their most recent win coming in 2018.

You're able to bet on all of their remaining games for the current season, as well as whether or not you think Boston will win the World Series.

The Celtics have won 17 NBA titles in their history, the joint-most with the LA Lakers, with Boston's last title coming over a decade ago in 2008.

You're able to wager on all of the Celtics' games for the season, as well as Boston to make the playoffs, win the Eastern Conference and the NBA title.

The Bruins have reached 20 Stanley Cup finals in their history winning just six, with their most recent win coming in the 2011 season, with Boston reaching, and losing, the finals twice since then.

Markets such as Boston to win the Stanley Cup, make the playoffs and win the Atlantic Division are all available to be wagered on, as well as all of the Bruins' games for the current season.

The Revolution have made the MLS Cup final five times, however despite this, they're yet to get their hands on the trophy, losing in all of their finals appearances, including their most recent appearance in 2014.

All of New England's matches for the current season can be wagered on, as well as markets such as New England to win the MLS Cup, win the East conference and make the playoffs.
