realme GT Neo pays tribute to Cyberpunk with it’s design and sports a 64MP triple camera – TechNave

Posted: March 29, 2021 at 1:38 am

A few weeks ago, we reported that the realme GT Neo or also known as the realme X9 will be having a Concrete Edition to it. Today, realme decided to disclose the design of the smartphone and also reveals some of the tech specs specifically on its cameras. It is scheduled to be released on 31 March in China. According to the official posters, the realme GT Neo will be sporting a triple camera setup compromising a 64MP main camera. As we can see the design of the camera housing is aligned with the shiny stripe stretched across the rear panel while the logo is placed on the bottom of it with the Dare to Leap slogan. This design is an indication of the partnership between realme and CD Project Reds recent game, Cyberpunk 2077.

realme GT Neo official posters

It uses a micron-level matte process on the back cover to create a rigid and soft touch that is resistant to smudges. It has a power key on the right-side of the phone and volume rocker on the left. As for the display, the realme GT Neo is equipped with an AMOLED display like the big brother realme GT. It also will support up to 65W fast charging along with a single firing speaker and 3.5mm audio jack.

Either way, there is no official confirmation on the other tech specs and Malaysia releasing dates yet. So do take this with a pinch of salt. But let us know what do you expect the most out of the realme GT Neo at our Facebook page and stay tuned for more tech news updates on TechNave.com.

CDPR Faces Extreme Skepticism Ahead Of Cyberpunk 2077s 1.2 Patch – Forbes

Posted: March 25, 2021 at 3:03 am

Cyberpunk

Fans are gearing up for what should be Cyberpunk 2077s 1.2 patch out before the end of this week, or perhaps in the face of another delay, early April. It is once again the victim of CDPR inflating expectations, as they have long promised that it will be the biggest patch the game has seen to date, but so far the reaction from fans has been one of extreme skepticism. Well-deserved, given where we are now.

There are of course the over-promises for the base game itself, but post-launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has only received a handful of hotfixes, and its first major patch 1.1, felt like little more than a hotfix itself, and its biggest contribution was to create a new game-breaking bug.

Already fans are preparing themselves that this is probably not going to be the patch to turn the game around. We have gotten an early preview of whats coming based on a Whats New in Night City blog post, a fun little narrative exercise, but one that used 1,000 words to essentially say the following highlighted changes were coming:

There are a number of high expectations for patch 1.2, with fans hoping this is a turnaround moment for the game with enough fixes and quality of life additions to get them playing again, but more pressingly for CDPR, this is the patch they need to impress Sony enough to let Cyberpunk be sold on the PlayStation store again. You have not been able to buy Cyberpunk digitally for PS4 or PS5 since a week after launch three months ago, due to the issues the last-gen version of the game had which sparked mass refund requests. As such, until the game is fixed, truly fixed, Sony wont let it back on. It is a wild story it has been this long already, and Im not sure if many people realize thats still going on.

CDPR has said the Night City blog post was only a preview of changes, though I would expect they wanted to spotlight some of the better ones. But if those are the better ones

Ive already seen a community manager quasi-confirm other small changes like altering the mission icon for car sales on the map, a common complaint from fans. And we obviously dont know what performance upgrades and bug fixes are coming, and lord knows the game still needs plenty of those.

The roadmap

After 1.2 we really dont have a roadmap other than two vague points going forward, free DLC maybe in the first half of the year here (with no indication what that will be) and then next-gen versions of the game, which many people are waiting for, in the second half of the year. Along with various fixes and improvements during this entire time.

1.2 is a big moment for the game. Im not sure if I can call it make or break as CDPR is pushing ahead with its other plans regardless, but the game does not need another over-promise and under-deliver after so many times thats happens before. More to come.

Cyberpunk 2077 New Mod Improves Screen Space Reflections – Wccftech

Posted: at 3:03 am

A new Cyberpunk 2077 mod that has been released online today introduces some welcome improvements to screen space reflections.

The Grainy SSR Begone mod, which requires ReShade, attempts to fix the screen space reflection grain that is most noticeable when using low settings. This mod is not particularly demanding as well, so performance shouldn't be impacted in any major way.

Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 Update To Improve Vehicle Handling, Nerf Cops, and More

This mod attempts to fix the crappy screen space reflection grain (or noise) when using lower quality SSR settings because not everyone has an RTX GPU with DLSS and neither afford the pshyco settings because it tanks the FPS. This mod is performance friendly and costs 1 FPS on most PCs.The denoise fx works fine with Low quality SSR as well.

Included an optional Recolor mod based on an 80s Cyberpunk-ish color scheme while keeping the vanilla feel. Recommended to turn the in-game gamma down to 1.05. Negligible performance impact.

While modders are continuing to improve Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED is hard at work on a new update. According to a fresh report, the 1.2 update will introduce improvements to vehicle handling, police behavior, and more.

Analyzing feedback on our driving model suggested a lot of players were having issues with the speed of the steering. We have added a Steering Sensitivity slider to the Options menu. This allows the steering speed for all vehicles and all input devices to be slowed down, without affecting the maximum turn radius.

When experiencing lower frame rates, our cars were harder to control. We traced this to some code that wasn't handling extreme changes in frame rate properly. The steering speed is now very consistent from 20 to 60+ FPS. Last, we looked at a bunch of tweaks to individual cars and adjusted some of them that were too twitchy in low frame rates, including the player's Archer Hella.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia worldwide.

Cyberpunk 2077 Has Now Been Absent From The PS Store For 3 Months – PlayStation Universe

Posted: at 3:03 am

CD Projekt REDs Cyberpunk 2077 has been absent from the PlayStation Store for exactly three months, having been removed from Sonys digital distribution outlet on December 18, 2020. Yes, its really been that long.

While theres no date in sight for when Cyberpunk 2077 will be added back to the PS Store, CDPR has said that it is still working with Sony to solve the problem. The game was removed in the first place after Sony was forced to revise its refund policy as a result of the widespread technical issues with the epic sci-fi title, which basically ran like a dog on PS4 hardware.

CDPR hasnt had an easy ride the past few months either, having been the victim of a cyber attack in February that compromised a range of data.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020 for PS4, PC and Xbox One after a lengthy development cycle, and will be receiving a native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version at a later date. Hopefully that will iron out the performance issues too, eh?

Cyberpunk 2077 lead gameplay designer leaves CD Projekt Red – PC Gamer

Posted: March 23, 2021 at 2:05 pm

Andrzej Zawadzki, a lead gameplay designer on Cyberpunk 2077, has announced that he will be leaving CD Projekt Red after nearly eight years with the studio.

Zawadzki announced his departure on Twitter, saying, "After almost 8 years, my time at CDPR has come to an end. It's time for the new adventure. To every person I've met on the way thank you 🙂 It was an honor and pleasure. See you around :)"

Zawadzki joined CD Projekt Red as a QA tester, working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its DLC Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. According to his LinkedIn, he was then given the role of Junior Gameplay Designer in 2016 and began working on Cyberpunk 2077. During the course of its development, Zawadzki took on different roles including RPG Coordinator, before becoming the game's Senior Gameplay Designer in March 2020.

When death threats began circulating around Cyberpunk 2077's tumultuous development cycle, Zawadzki was one of the most vocal individuals from CDPR to respond, telling his followers that the threats were "absolutely unacceptable and just wrong," adding "we are people, just like you."

It seems Zawadzki is taking a break for the time being, telling fellow developer Kyle Rowley that he's taking "long holidays." He has not given a reason for his departure.

Cyberpunk 2077: Explorer Climbs To The Highest Point In Night City – TheGamer

Posted: at 2:04 pm

A player managed to scale Arasaka Tower and get to Night City's highest point in Cyberpunk 2077.

The dust has begun to settle on Night City, now that we've passed the brunt of the fallout from Cyberpunk 2077s launch. The novelty of experiencing Glitch City may have worn off, but urban explorers are still discovering the highs and lows of the games expanse.

One such high comes from Redditor Spunky Monkey, whoscaled Arasaka Tower - Night Citys tallest skyscraper - to capture a stunning view. Since the games launch, people have been running wild in the city, even turning it into their own parkour simulator. This urban explorer is no different, seeking to expose the boundaries of the game itself and what splendors await on the edge - literally.

Related: It's Been Three Months Since Cyberpunk 2077 Was Taken Off The PS Store

The minute-long clip shared on the Cyberpunk subreddit showed a 360 view of the city below, picking up all of the qualities that make Night City a blend of futuristic technology and dusty suburbs. If you dont suffer from vertigo, then the view is a rare sight to see. A sea of skyscrapers, digital ads, and industrial cranes linked together to form the Cyberpunk world we know. The horizon is lined with rippling hills and open waters. It might even be possible to see the Santo Domingo district in the distance, filled with smog from its industrial nature. At one point, the user briefly uses the telescopic sight on their rifle for a closer look at certain areas, ending the clip by falling to their death.

If you want to conquer Arasaka Tower yourself, then you will have to do so under mission restrictions. The only known way to access the rooftop is during a mission, which doesnt give you long to settle down and admire the view. Luckily, mods for Cyberpunk 2077 are being developed all the time and there will no doubt be a free reign mod for urban explorers very soon.

While existing fans of the game are enjoying themselves with exploration, the action-adventure doesn't seem to be acquiring many new fans. Cyberpunk 2077s sales are dwindling and it looks like digital copies will not surpass 500,000 units for the March quarter. The games Patch 1.2 also got unexpectedly delayed last month - when CD Projekt Redfell victim to acyber attack - but it is scheduled to release by the end of March.

Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.2 will fix police response, driving, and more – Polygon

Posted: at 2:04 pm

Developer CD Projekt Red announced new details on the second major update to Cyberpunk 2077 on Friday, couched as an in-fiction news broadcast. According to the developer, the 1.2 update for Cyberpunk 2077 will address issues related to police response to player actions, and add more nuance and control to driving and moving on foot. The patch does not have a release date.

Players who commit crimes in Night City, either purposefully or not, may have noticed the unnerving speed with which the Night City Police Department responds. CD Projekt Red says its aware of the situation, and is making some adjustments to where and when the cops show up with guns blazing. Law enforcement should no longer appear directly behind the player, and will take more time to respond in general. Beat cops will also be preceded by a flying drone, a new addition to the game.

Developers admit that driving has been a little twitchy since launch, especially on PC. Turns out that the issue was complicated by the games frame rate.

When experiencing lower frame rates, our cars were harder to control, CDPR said. We traced this to some code that wasnt handling extreme changes in frame rate properly. The steering speed is now very consistent from 20 to 60+ FPS.

Individual cars were also tweaked in detail, including the players starting vehicle. CD Projekt Red also noted that cars would sometimes get hung up on environmental details, including curbs and bollards. The 1.2 update will add an Unstuck feature which will allow players to rock vehicles back and forth while holding down the accelerator.

Finally, players will now have more fine control over keyboard bindings related to simple movement. That includes a rework of the games dodge action. You can find more details on the official blog post.

Cyberpunk 2077 was perhaps the most highly anticipated game of the last decade, but failed to meet player expectations at launch. Refunds were issued to consumers directly by the developer, and the game itself was even removed from sale at some online storefronts. CD Projekt co-founder and co-chief executive Marcin Iwiski took the blame himself, stating in January that the company had underestimated the task of getting the game running at an acceptable level on last-generation consoles.

So far, the game has had multiple urgent hotfixes including one to confront a security issue that could put user devices at risk. CD Projekt isnt done yet, not by a long shot.

According to a development roadmap the studio released in January, the next phase includes the refinement and release of free downloadable content and a free update to enhance the game on current-generation consoles. At this time, Cyberpunk 2077 is playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X via backward compatibility only.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 will make police response time more realistic – TrueAchievements

Posted: at 2:04 pm

CD Projekt Red has shared more info on what's coming with the next Cyberpunk 2077 patch, including a fix to stop NPCs spawning behind you, and a fix to make the police response time more realistic. At the moment, the Night City police Quick Response team is in fact so quick that NPCs will basically materialise behind you the second a law is broken. According to CDPR's development insight post, which is written in the style of a Night City news bulletin, Patch 1.2 will bring a fix for this. The Cyberpunk 2077 team says the patch "is an important step in addressing the behaviour of the police in our game. It should decrease the problem of NPCs spawning behind players' backs and create an impression that it takes some time for the police to arrive at the crime scene after the crime has been reported." You'll also see a recon drone pop up first, "to create the feeling of the police assessing the situation.

Patch 1.2 will also bring some changes to the game's driving model, including options for steering sensitivity. "Analysing feedback on our driving model suggested a lot of players were having issues with the speed of the steering," CDPR says. "Most complaints came from players using keyboards on PC or were on platforms with lower frame rates, and centred around how hard it was to keep cars off the sidewalks and such." With Patch 1.2, you'll be able to slow the steering speed in the Options menu, and the steering speed will be "very consistent from 20 to 60+ FPS." A new vehicle subsystem, meanwhile, will stop you getting stuck while driving, allowing players "to rotate or rock their vehicles back and forth in order to regain traction."

CDPR says Patch 1.2 "goes beyond any of our previous updates" and these aren't the only changes included, as we'll get the full patchnotes soon. We still don't have a release date for the patch, which was delayed after a cyber attack on CDPR, but it should be arriving sometime soon. We'll keep you posted.

Five Things: Cyberpunk versions of today’s cars – Stuff.co.nz

Posted: at 2:04 pm

The video game 'Cyberpunk 2077' may be a hot mess, but it has got a lot of people thinking about a high-tech/low-life dystopian future originally envisaged by the likes of William Gibson and Phillip K Dick.

It certainly made Bristol Street Motors think about it, so today we take a look at their thoughts on what today's cars might look like as classics in a cyberpunk future.

Range Rover Evoque

Bristol Street Motors

Not much ground clearance limits the cyberpunked Evoque off-road, but not much will get in its way on the road.

While the massive cowcatcher on the front might compromise its off-road ability even more than usual, the Range Rover Evoque clearly means business in 2077.

READ MORE:* Five Things: 90s supercar concepts we wish had made production* Cyberpunk 2077 patch fuels bets worst is behind bug-ridden game* Cyberpunk 2077 pulled from the PlayStation Store, Sony offers refunds* Brilliant but broken, Cyberpunk 2077 is a hot mess

Despite the lack of useful ground clearance, the chunky mud tyres and dual wheels on the rear suggest it could probably crawl its way over whatever it cant just push out of the way, although it would have to have been repowered with something a bit more substantial than the standard range of 2.0-litre turbo engines. Range Rovers thumping great supercharged 5.0-litre petrol V8, perhaps?

Maybe with the addition of an electric motor and some batteries for some plug-in hybrid silent running when necessary...

Mini Cooper

Bristol Street Motors

A wide track? Check. Huge wing? Check. Weird lights with hoses coming out of them? Uh, okay? But this Mini means business.

A classic Mini Cooper in 2077 would clearly be all about speed. Outrunning Yakuza cyber-ninjas, the Authoritys armed A.I. drones or whatever dystopian nightmare is currently trying to kill you is the main concern here, and this Mini looks like it would deliver.

From the massively flared arches to accommodate the widened track and huge, grippy tyres, to the dramatic amount of intakes that suggest some serious breathing and cooling is necessary to whatever monstrously powerful engine propels it, this Mini clearly has the need for speed.

Minis recent announcement that it will be going all-electric means it is likely that a colossal electric motor and liquid-cooled battery pack are sitting in this hot rod Mini.

Ford Fiesta

Bristol Street Motors

Armoured up and looking mean is the Ford Fiesta is a future cyberpunk classic?

Like the Mini, the Ford Fiesta is a road-based rocket, but in this case it is more, shall we say, secure?

The heavy armour plating over the windows might add weight (unless it is some futuristic lightweight nano-structure cyber-armour), but that doesnt look like it would slow this hyper-Fiesta down anyway.

We would imagine some kind of hybrid powertrain for the Fiesta, based on the hot STs fantastic three-cylinder turbo unit (wound up to 11, of course) with maybe a pair of electric motors added to the rear wheels, just for fun.

The lack of visibility appears to be taken care of by a bunch of cameras at the front and, well, who cares about anything else when you have armour plating?

Audi R8

Bristol Street Motors

Street racing cyberpunk-style Audis R8 packs a tough-looking external roll cage.

We imagine street racing would become quite assertive and aggressive in a dystopian future, so an Audi R8 with an external roll cage is probably a pretty good option if that was your thing.

Its disappointing to see that the RS6 GTO concept-style white wheels have become popular by 2077, but we guess the addition of whitewall tyres on the rear add a touch of retro style?

While the current R8 packs a monster V10 and Audi has suggested the next one will be electric, we feel this R8 has a hydrogen vibe, so imagine an electric motor in each wheel being fed by a hydrogen fuel cell for maximum acceleration and a fairly wickedly futuristic sound...

Tesla Cybertruck

Bristol Street Motors

You cant have cyberpunk cars without Teslas Cybertruck.

Its not in production yet, but given it is actually called the Cybertruck, Teslas upcoming pickup simply has to be included.

Monster trucked up and ready to tackle some serious terrain, the Cybertruck of 2077 packs some serious lighting and... spikes?

Were not sure that those spikes are a wise choice though, because while they would be handy for clearing a path through some radioactive wasteland mutants, they would significantly reduce the approach angle. Unless they retract, of course...

It goes without saying that the Cybertruck would be electric, but we would like to think its range has been beefed up by filling the tray with batteries for a seriously long haul across that post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Every Cyberpunk 2077 Feature That Was Left On The Cutting Room Floor – Looper

Posted: March 16, 2021 at 2:40 am

Law enforcement in Night City leaves much to be desired, even putting corruption and police brutality aside. As PC Gamer reported, police have a habit of teleporting behind players after they commit crimes, without other NPCs needing to report the player first. Modder WillJL has produced a fix in the form of the "Annoy Me No More" mod. This modprevents instant-spawns for police and includes many other quality of life perks.

While the game does feature a manhunt system, it is simpler than those found in Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption. Polygon noted that evading capture is typically a matter of hopping into a vehicle and driving a few blocks. Because of this, car chases are virtually non-existent.

Admittedly, CDPR never billed vehicular chases as a specific selling point of the title. Inan interview with The Gamer, the developer stated that Cyberpunk would not rely on "emergent content," instead favoring handcrafted content, such as scripted events.

Given the emphasis on the need to flee from the police in promotional materials, however, there is a substantial difference between the pursuit system that was seemingly promised and what the game delivered.
