SEX and drugs and sausage rolls are on the menu when Roy Chubby Brown asks Who Ate All The Pies? at York Barbican on Saturday night.

The rude, crude, sarcastic and blue Middlesbrough comedian promises to be as politically incorrect as ever while bursting bellies with his rip-roaring brand of banter when offering his views on the news, women and gender issues at 7.30pm.

Singapore will not be in on the joke that is Seth Rogen and James Franco's latest comedy The Interview.

Written and directed by US actor Rogen, the politically incorrect flick was said to be the main trigger of the hack attack at Sony Pictures Entertainment that began on Nov 24 - simply because it revolves around two reporters (Rogen and Franco) tasked by the CIA with assassinating North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un (Randall Park).

Reviews of The Interview, which opens in the US on Dec 25, are mixed, but we will not be able to judge it for ourselves. It will not be released in Singapore or the rest of Asia, according to the film's website.

Sony Pictures Releasing International Singapore declined to comment if it is due to the hacking, commercial viability or sensitivities. But The Interview was not included in its line-up of releases as of September, and that was way before the hacking scandal erupted.

Rogen's comedies tend to be controversial, and some are considered too niche or sensitive to be a hit at the local box office despite his clout in Hollywood.

His directorial debut, the disaster comedy This Is The End (2013), which saw Rogen, Franco, Jonah Hill and Jay Baruchel facing the apocalypse after a wild night, did not get a local release despite it being a box-office hit in the US.

The 2008 stoner comedy Pineapple Express, starring Rogen and Franco as marijuana smokers, did not get a theatrical release here either.

BAD END

As for The Interview, it features a prominent Asian leader meeting a decidedly bad end.

You always want to avoid drinking with somebody during the holiday season.

Maybe it's that politically incorrect uncle of yours. Or maybe it's a nagging in-law.

The well-known host of a health show on Russian state-run First Channel has another suggestion: shun those whom she calls "people of the Mongoloid race."

But it's for their own protection, of course.

The segment, titled "whom not to drink with on New Year's" begins with Yelena Malysheva, host of the program "Live Healthfully," inviting an audience member up on stage.

A man named Shukrat, who identifies himself as an Uzbekistan native, is met with hearty laughter when he explains that he "wouldn't want to drink with the police or the Federal Migration Service."

Then Malysheva gets into the meat of her presentation, noting that Russians are "a white race, a Slavic one " and "now we will talk about what race not to drink with on New Year's."

And just so there's no misunderstandings, she adds, "There is no discrimination here, just an understanding of the physiology that makes every race different."

Shukrat then cuts in, noting that he "grew up in the Soviet Union, so I'm not a nationalist" and "can drink with black people and all people, to be honest."

Christmas came early this year for 30,000 people who received a box of poop in the mail last week.

The sleekly designed box filled with actual excrement came courtesy of Cards Against Humanity, a fill-in-the-blank party game where players try to one up each other with phrase cards ranging from merely politically incorrect to legitimately disgusting. Costing $6 a pop, the special offer was a part of the stunt-loving companys Black Friday sale.

We all really hate Black Friday, its just kind of a horrible day, says game co-creator Max Temkin. It comes after this day where youre supposed to be thankful for what you have, and then its just this whole huge media spectacle of people fighting each other to save $50 on a TV.

And so Cards Against Humanity decided to create a media spectacle of its own by pulling all of its products off its site and only selling Bullshit which Temkin says sold out in less than two hours. (This isnt the companys first stunt for last years Black Friday, the game was sold for $5 above the normal price.)

We also had the idea of issuing people a one penny off coupon, but that felt weird because it was still a deal, he says. Thats sort of still doing Black Friday.

But how did the makers of Cards Against Humanity get the poop in the box? Well, we didnt do anything that anyone else couldnt have done, Temkins says. We went on Google and were like, Can you buy bullshit? Can you sell bullshit?'

The team found a cattle ranch in Texas that sold pasteurized bull feces for shipments and understood what we were trying to do.

Writing on the package boasts that while the box was made in China Its the same manufacturer that does packaging for Apple! Temkin says the poop was made in America.

And now, says Temkins, Its sent, its out, its done Initially we got a dozen people who were really surprised it was poop, but it was just actual poop.

LAist journalists broke the poop apart to see if there was hidden inside, only to find that it was simply feces.
