SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) The government may have secretly gathered reams of sensitive information about you while dodging any requirement to get court approval.

A newly released document shows the National Security Agency buys internet data of Americans, without any warrants.

The disclosure comes for newly unclassified letters made public by a Oregon senator Ron Wyden.

The documents he unveiled show officials saying the NSA has been buying web browsing data from commercial brokers.

This includes information about websites people have visited and the apps they use.

Its data large internet companies routinely sell.

The NSA's then-director said the data doesnt contain the content of communications and that the NSA doesnt buy cell phone location data.

Theres also rising concerns that foreign governments may also be buying this data.
