Exclusive Interview: Andrew Rayel announced his own label called ‘In Harmony’ – Rave Jungle (press release) (subscription) (blog)

Posted: August 16, 2017 at 6:27 pm

Andrew Rayel has been regarded as one of the more genuine and transparent individuals within the trance music scene.Despite his busy schedule he sat down with Rave Jungle during this years edition of Tomorrowland festival in Belgium to fill us in on what hes got in store in the coming months.

During our conversation, the Trance superstar opens up about his passion for Trance music, his new album Moments, the current dance music scene and many more. Among other things Rayel also announced his own label called In Harmony.

How do you like it here in Belgium and what you think about this years edition of Tomorrowland festival ?

Andrew: Well, Tomorrowland is definitely one of the biggest and greatest festivals in the world, and is a very big honour to play here. This is my fourth year playing here, last year i played at the Mainstage and it was one of my biggest dreams come true. You know its always a big pleasure to be here at Tomorrowland festival where fans gather from all around the world.

How do you decide what songs will go on your show ? And whats one track that always find place in your sets ?

Andrew:Probably the one track that i never stop playing is Dark Warrior, its a track that fans know everywhere. Usually Tomorrowland festival is a good place to premier a lot of new music, and thats what im gonna do today. I will treat the fans tonight with some material from my new album.

Youve recently released your new artist album called Moments. Can you tell us a little more about this new album ?

Andrew:Well ive been working on this new album for like two years or so and ive got collaborations with legendary vocalists such as Emma Hewitt,Christina Novelli and a lot of other great artists. Its evolution of the sound, starting from something slower and more melodic going to something really fast and harder. Ive decided to make it very diverse, cause it gets very boring when you use the very same sound all the time.

And whats your personal favorite track from this album ?

Andrew: Theres no one favorite track, because ive made them all with the same passion and i love all the tracks equally. So you guys, have to choose whats your favorite

What does the remainder of summer hold for you ?

Andrew: Im gonna do shows at H Ibiza, there are a lot of upcoming music festivals for me here in Europe, im gonna play at Electronic Family, Creamfields and many more. After that we are going to Asia, cause we did our first part of the global tour only in the United States at massive EDM festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas, and now well change our direction for our Asian fans.

Do you think Trance music gets the attention it deserves ?

Andrew:I mean, only god knows what Trance music really deserves but obviously we want this genre to have everything. It never died, its never gonna die its still there, there are still a lot of Trance fans, as you can see theres a whole stage here at Tomorrowland dedicated only for Trance music, so yeah it probably gets the attention.

Please recommend two young Trance DJs to our readers which you feel deserve their attention ?

Andrew: Well, i would say David Gravell, i really like his Trance sound. Also theres Willem de Roo and Husman, these two guys are really making great tracks so i would definitely recommend them.

What do you think about DJs yelling during their sets all the time, like Get your f**king hands up or Are you f**cking ready 1,2,3 ?

Andrew: Im ok if someone wants to do that, if they feel they wanna engage with the crowd in that way than im totally fine with that. If you do it in a respectful way, and youre doing it nicely in your set, not every 20 seconds or stuff like that, than its ok. But if you do it way to often, than it gets kinda boring.

What advice would you give to DJs & producers who are starting out ?

Andrew: Its very easy, at the beginning you gotta follow someone, make something that you really like and that someone else is already making it. And when you reach a very professional level, when you feel confident enough so you can create your own thing, than you should start searching for something unique and new. Make something completely different that defines you as an artist and that you think people gonna like.

Its ok at the beginning to make something similar to other artists in order to learn how to make it properly, and when you feel ready than search for something new and unique.

Any plans for the future ?

Andrew:Well im planning to release my own label called In Harmony under the Armada music, and its gonna be launched by the end of the summer. Now im ready to promote other people and not only myself.

Listen to Andrew Rayels Tomorrowland 2017 LIVE set below !

[Behind the Beat] PURE NRG Bringing Trance To Life – Mix 247 EDM

Posted: at 6:27 pm

Meet Solarstone and Giuseppe Ottaviani, aka.Pure NRG!

These two forces have a connection of musical minds that deliver unique no-two-experiences-alike-shows. From playing unexpected turns, twists, and thrills that are amazing LIVE, they play spins that you have never heard of before.

I had an amazing time sitting down with the two of them atIlesoniqFestival in Montreal, Quebec to talk about how they got together to create such incredible beats!

Read it down below!

Mix 247 EDM: How did you boys meet and what brought you two together to create a wonderful duo?

Pure NRG:We were both being managed by the same manager and one day we were having cocktails together in Sydney, Australia and we were talking about how one of us performs live and the other doesnt. Then our manager suggested that we should work together! Its funny because we were getting bookings together as a duo but we hadnt made any music yet! But we met up in Rome and started producing in the studio and made our first show!

Mix 247 EDM: As a du0, how many shows have you performed at together ever since your first show?

Pure NRG:We limit ourselves to 10-12 shows a year to keep it special! Its been about three years and weve performed around 30 shows. We do our own shows almost every weekend but as Pure NRG, we only do around 10 shows.

Mix 247 EDM: Since you two only limit yourselves to a certain amount of shows per year, where would you say your favorite festival or performance would be in your entire life?

Giuseppe: Beyond Wonderland is definitely a favorite!

Solarstone: I dont have a favorite! They have all been so great!

Mix 247 EDM: You two just recently played at a festival called Luminosity! Tell us about it! How does it compare to Ilesoniq and other festivals?

Pure NRG:Luminosity is a small festival, focused mainly on trance in the Netherlands that takes place at a beach club. It was very intimate but there was a real sense of a TranceFamily connection and thats why everyone who attends looks forward to it! The weather was pretty terrible the whole time but the sun came out when we played our hit Scarlett!

Mix 247 EDM: Who are your inspirations in music?

Giuseppe: U2 for sure! Muse is also great!

Solarstone: I get inspired by classical music and talk radio! When I say classical music, I dont mean to sound like an asshole because its more like neoclassical and modern stuff on contemporary labels.

Mix 247 EDM: If you had to pick any kind of superpower, what would you choose and why?

Solarstone: X-Ray vision! That way Id get to look at peoples internals!

Giuseppe: I like flying!

Dmitry Chumak, better known as Photographer has apparently quit his DJ career. The Ukranian star was recently supposed to play at the 2017 beach edition of Quest for trance. However, just a while ago they announced that Photographer has quit his DJing career and hence wont be playing at the festival.

Were sorry to announce that tomorrow, at our Quest4Trance the beach edition 2017 event at Elements Beach,

Well, the reason for this is unknown and there has been no official confirmation from Dmirty himself. So, we cant really say much at the moment. It is extremely upsetting to see such talented producers and DJs quitting these days. We hope it is just a temporary phase and he returns back soon.

Kyau and Albert speak Matching Stories – Trance Hub (satire) (press release) (blog)

Posted: at 6:26 pm

With over two decades of work on their side, Kyau and Albert are names that every trance fan is familiar with. As their release their 5th studio album, Matching stories and also happen to complete 20 years with their record label Euphonic,we sit down with them and discuss everything from music to tours and plans ahead.

1) Hi! Firstly, congratulations on the release of Matching Stories! Its you fifth studio album! How does it feel having released it?

Ralph Kyau: Really happy that the album is out. It was a lot of work and also hard choice to select the tracks for the final album. We did much more demos as we finally took on the album. Dont know exact number but guess we made almost 50 demos over 1.5 years.

MATCHING STORIES is out today <3 <3 <3 Get CD at http://shop.euphonic.de + Digital/stream at https://euphonic.lnk.to/EUPH244

Posted by Kyau & Albert onFriday, July 21, 2017

2) What was the idea behind naming the album Matching Stories?

Steven Albert: We had a couple of name ideas for the album and Matching Stories pretty much tells what we mean with choosing the final 14 tracks from so many tracks we produced for the album.

3) How have your fans responded to the album until now? Has it matched your expectations?

Ralph Kyau: Were excited about the response from our fans about the album, especially about the German vocal tracks like Mein Herz.

Steven Albert: It is the first time that I sing in my mother tongue. There are 2 tracks and all of my German friends love it. Not sure if it is for our fans who dont speak German, but I havent heard any negative feedback. We have all lyrics in the CD booklet, so people can read and learn some German, haha.

4) We see you experimenting and being open to do a lot more vocal collaborations in this album. How did it all happen?

Ralph Kyau: Our plan was to make the album diverse with female vocalists while listening and set a contrast to Stevens male voice. We wanted to have some female vocalists who didt worked at too many Trance releases before.

5) Love letter from the future, your collaboration with Adaja Black, narrates a love story that wasnt successful. What inspired the track? Is it based on a real-life story or experience?

Steven Albert: Adaja Black wrote the lyrics to an instrumental we sent her.

6) Which artist/vocalist did you look forward to collaborating with the most?

Ralph Kyau: I was really interested to work with Adaja again. She was on our last 2 albums before and we like her alot, also we were really interested to work with Jeza for the first time as we always loved her voice. Started to work with Jeza end of last year. The contact to Madeleine Wood came through Francesco Sambero, who both worked with us on one track of the album called Gamla Stan.

7) If you had to pick one track from Matching stories to which you were most connected to, which track would it be?

Steven Albert: I love the album in whole, every track is a story for me.

8) With the album having come out, can we expect an album tour to follow soon? Which cities would you be looking forward to performing at?

Ralph Kyau: We kicked off the album tour in early June with a 6 hour set at Avalon Hollywood and will still tour around the world till early 2018. For all dates best to check kyauandalbert.com or our socials.

9) You have released your 5th artist album and your record label, Euphonic records also completes 20 years this year! Two milestone events in your career! How are you celebrating both? And how does it feel to have achieved so much?

Steven Albert: As the artist album is finished we plan now two E.P.s under 20 years Euphonic and an album end of the year.

Ralph Kyau: Right now were updating our 10 year old remix for 6am by Cressida. Additional a few label acts do remixes for big Euphonic classics. All these remixes to be featured under 20 years Euphonic. For example remixer names here are Beatsole, Stoneface & Terminal, Johnny Yono, Maywave, Steve Brian pres Cabriolet Paris.

10) What does the future have in store for Kyau & Albert and Euphonic? Any big releases or news?

Steven Albert: New originals soon by Beatsole, Steve Brian and Maywave. But much more planned.

Ralph Kyau: Our collab Changes with Hello Machines gets a single soon, also Mein Herz gets a single including a Trance remix. Furthermore, were doing a collab with our long term label mate Ronski Speed right now. This one is getting huge! Release later this year.

Thank you so much for your time! And all the best for all your future endeavours!

Forbes announces the Highest Paid DJs of 2017 – Trance Hub (satire) (press release) (blog)

Posted: August 10, 2017 at 6:20 am

As part of their yearly routine, Forbes reveal its list of highest paid DJs for the year again. The magazine, known for featuring pieces on finance, business, marketing and money, started documenting the highest paid DJs since 2012 and the tradition still follows.

This year, the list features artists such as Calvin Harris, Marshmello, and Tiesto amongst those who have walked away with a high bank balance.

Check out Forbes Worlds Highest Paid DJs list below.

1. Calvin Harris ($48,500,000)

2. Tiesto ($39,000,000)

3. The Chainsmokers ($38,000,000)

4. Skrillex ($30,000,000)

5. Steve Aoki ($29,500,000)

6. Diplo ($28,500,000)

7. David Guetta ($25,000,000)

8. Marshmello ($21,000,000)

9. Martin Garrix ($19,500,000)

10. Zedd ($19,000,000)

From the list, a few facts come out super clean. The maximum money is earned by artists who make your clich commercial music. No artist from any other genre including techno, trance, trap or deep house or any other sub genre feature on this list. Is this probably why Tiesto switched? And is this probably why most artists are taking the commercial route? Well, ill leave that upto you!

Paul van Dyk & Pierre Pienaar Inspire Us To Be Stronger Together – EDM Identity

Posted: at 6:20 am

Paul van Dyk has joined forces with Pierre Pienaar to release a brand new trance track with a strong underlying theme packed full of thatblissful uplifting spirit called Stronger Together!

The second release to come out of Paul van Dyks wheelhouse in 2017, following his track Touched by Heaven, Stronger Together is a trance offering that brings two of the brightest minds in the industry together, developed in collaboration with VANDIT Records protege Pierre Pienaar, a thirty-three-year-old producer who comes to us from Namibia in Southern Africa. PvDs debut collaboration with Pienaar, released on July 28, 2017, is a testament to trance musics boundless influence which stretches beyond borders, races, and languages.

In a time where terrorism, ethnonationalism, and social exclusion, take over the media, Paul wanted to make it abundantly clear through his music that its an important time to come together in peace and unity. Despite the polarizing politics of the day, music will always be a unifying force; and trance music specifically has always and will forever be a champion of diversity and acceptance not only on the dance floor but in life in general.

Promoting peace has always been an essential aspect of Paul van Dyks career, who was awarded the Berlin Medal of Honor in 2006 in recognition of his charity work with underprivileged children in Germany and India. Beginning with the title Stronger Together, we are reminded that in a world of political and religious unrest, we can rise above it all and become unified under music, growing stronger together as the beautiful melodies link us all together as one on the dance floor.

To me, only dance music has this power to reconcile the historic divisions of the planet like this.

Paul van Dyk

Fresh off Pierres most recent VANDIT offering called Higher State, the future is looking very bright for this talented taste maker! Already his latest offering with PvD, Stronger Together has found its rightful home, sitting blissfully on top of the Beatport throne, currently #1 on Beatport Trance! A true testament to what trance fans all over the planet have been craving, Stronger Together will quench your thirst, delivering a divine melody that floats atop a pulse pounding drive, dripping with all the pristine trance elements that bring us back to a classic era, standing the test of time in this massive and ever evolving music trance scene.

For more info on Pierre Pienaar Higher State check out The Landing (July 9-15) right here!

On the festival circuit, Stronger Together has begun to do the work of its creators as Paul van Dyk set the stage for unity on the dance floor when he dropped the track at Tomorrowland 2017 in Boom, Belgium, igniting a flame of camaraderieas people from all corners of the planet raised their hands to the heavens in one magnificent celebration of life, love, peace, and happiness. You would be a fool to miss out on your chance to hear this track on the big speakers and with Paul gearing up to take the United States by storm, I would highly suggest that you make it a point to go and see the king of trance live and in action. He just may drop Stronger Together at many of his upcoming events and if you are lucky enough to bear witness, you will leave with a forever changed heart and soul!
