Manchester City is set to look at other transfer market opportunities after Brighton refused to lower their $61 million asking price for Marc Cucurella.

City are still keen on the player, but made it clear theres no chance that such a high demand will be met. According to The Athletic, the latest City bid for Cucurella went as high as $48 million on Friday.

Cucurella, a 2021 signing from Getafe, had a consistent first season in Brighton. He played a total of 38 games, scoring once and assisting two goals. He had remarkable stats in the attack and defense as well, including tackles and passes in the opponent final third. Cucurella was voted Brightons Player of the Season. The club paid Spanish side Getafe $18 million before the start of the previous campaign to land the Barcelona Academy graduate, who proved an instant hit in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old submitted a transfer request, trying to force his move to City, but Brighton didnt seem impressed, as the clubs board insists he wont move for less than their current valuation. Cucurella wasnt involved in Brightons 5-1 win over Espanyol in a friendly on Saturday.

City allowed Ukrainian left back Oleksandr Zinchenjo to join Arsenal this month, looking for an upgrade for the position. The Premier League champions added Erling Haaland, Kalvin Philips and Julian Alvarez to their ranks.

Manchester City sits at the top of the favorites list to win the 2022-23 edition of the Premier League. It would be the third consecutive league triumph for Pep Guardiolas boys and their fifth in six years. City sits at -200 to win the Premier League, ahead of Liverpool at +220. Applying tax on the entire value of consideration would significantly reduce the amount of player winnings and repel player interest on legal platforms. This move could also lead to an increase in illegal platforms that contribute nothing to the exchequer, making it an unwinnable situation for everyone involved.

Seven of the nine horses tackling the 1 1/16-mile San Diego carry morning line odds in single digits. Clearly, this line challenged every ounce of Del Mar morning line writer Jon Whites line-setting acumen. One of those fourths did come on turf, in the Grade 3 American Stakes on Santa Anitas closing weekend in June.

There Goes Harvard, the leader of the four Hollywood Gold Cup ex-pats, comes into the San Diego on a three-race winning streak. He went from winning two allowances to winning a Grade 1 by a length at 8.80/1. There Goes Harvard hasnt finished out of the exacta in seven races (4-3-0), although three of those came against lesser competition at Ellis Park.

Defunded, the other Baffert, hasnt missed the exacta in his last five starts (2-3-0). Like There Goes Harvard, who beat him by that length in the Hollywood Gold Cup, Defunded owns three consecutive increasing Equibase Speed Figures. Unlike There Goes Harvard, Defunded has run against good competition. He has to be considered here.

Royal Ship, who finished third in that race, finished third in this one last year. He has a first and a third this year, coming out of a seventh in last years Pacific Classic. After that race, trainer Richard Mandella sent the Brazilian-bred gelding to the sidelines for eight months. He came back with a victory in the Listed John Shear Mile at Santa Anita in April.

Morning Line (Jockey/Trainer)

Stilleto Boy had his four-race, in-the-money streak broken at the Hollywood Gold Cup. Before then, he won the Grade 2 Californian and finished third in three Grade 1s: the Santa Anita Handicap, the Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the Malibu Stakes.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government is set to draft an ordinance with immediate effect to ban online games that include betting and gambling and also regulate games that are addictive in nature by restricting the time and money spent on them. A high-level committee constituted by the state government headed by retired Judge of Madras High Court, Justice K. Chandru had recommended the banning of online games. State Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu had held a meeting of top officials on Saturday to bring out a ban on online betting and gambling but will not go for a strict ban on all online games. The amount of money to be spent on online games will also be restricted.

As many as 17 people have committed suicide in the past three years due to online games. The committee constituted by the government has given a report that online games have turned into an addiction in nature for those playing and money is lost in huge volumes, according to news agency IANS.

The Central government is also in discussions with the states to bring in new legislation or changes in the existing legislation to regulate the industry. A study by the Union government has pegged the number of people playing online games in the country at 400 million and expected to reach 700 million by 2025.

Several political parties in the state including Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) have been vociferously campaigning in the state for effecting a ban in the state for online games. However, as per IANS sources, if a total ban is implemented, it would lead to several legal battles, and hence it is contemplating a regulation of the game and to allow only a restricted amount to be spent in a fixed period of time to play online games.

The Bills have a somewhat easy stretch of eight games starting in November before ending the season with road games against the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals, plus a tough home game against the New England Patriots in Week 18.

We dont have too much faith in the Dolphins to usurp the Bills, which is why we love the Bills at -225 odds to win the AFC East. The Bills are tied with the Tampa Bay Bucs with the highest win total in the NFL at 11.5 o/u.

The Dolphins will ride or die with Tua Tagovailoa. If Tagovailoa can play an entire season without any serious health issues, then the Dolphins could win double-digit games and secure an AFC wild-card berth. But thats a big if. New head coach Mike McDaniel is another offensive wunderkind. The Dolphins plucked him off the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree, but McDaniel loves to think outside the box. Well see if the rookie head coach can handle the arduous task of being a head honcho in the NFL. Its a copycat league, and the Dolphins are desperate to find the next Sean McVay.

The Dolphins could begin the season 0-4 with games against the Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. Five of their final six games include four tough road games against the San Francisco 49ers, LA Chargers, Bills, and Patriots. They also host the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day. The Dolphins could end the season with a 1-5 clip with the Jets as their only easy game in the final six-pack of the season.

The Dolphins are +450 odds to win the AFC East for the first time since 2008. Based on their tough schedule, the Dolphins have a current win total of 9.0 o/u, and we like the under.

The Patriots have only missed winning the AFC East three times since 2002, including in both of the last two seasons. Bill Belichick will try to jumpstart the dynasty, but its rare to see the Patriots listed as the third favorite in the division. The Pats clawed their way to a 10-7 record under rookie quarterback Mac Jones, and we expect them to do the same this year and claim an AFC wild-card berth.

They then have a mid-season breather with seven straight games against teams that missed the playoffs last year, including the Jets twice. The Patriots face a challenging end of the season starting December with home games against the Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dolphins. Plus, they have tough road games against the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, and Bills to close out the season in Week 18.
