While the Hungarian Grand Prix isnt until tomorrow, Aston Martin and Sebastian Vettel have already made F1 headlines this week. During a team press conference Red Bulls Christian Horner said, If it is according to the rules, it is a possible way to go. And who knows, maybe well copy something off Aston Martin rather than the other way around for once.

Vettels pending retirement is not a complete surprise. The 35-year-old drivers contract was up at the end of this season. And while Aston Martin very much wanted to extend its relationship with Vettel, both sides were realistic about what another season would yield.

When Aston Martin and Vettel joined forces in 2020, it seemed the perfect combination. Aston Martin had deep pockets and a desire to develop a competitive car. Vettel was a savvy veteran driver who was willing to help them on their journey.

Aston Martins performance, however, has been elusive and needs more time. And Vettel feels like time is of the essence in his life outside of racing, as the father of three explained on Instagram.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government is set to draft an ordinance with immediate effect to ban online games that include betting and gambling and also regulate games that are addictive in nature by restricting the time and money spent on them. A high-level committee constituted by the state government headed by retired Judge of Madras High Court, Justice K. Chandru had recommended the banning of online games. State Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu had held a meeting of top officials on Saturday to bring out a ban on online betting and gambling but will not go for a strict ban on all online games. The amount of money to be spent on online games will also be restricted.

As many as 17 people have committed suicide in the past three years due to online games. The committee constituted by the government has given a report that online games have turned into an addiction in nature for those playing and money is lost in huge volumes, according to news agency IANS.

The Central government is also in discussions with the states to bring in new legislation or changes in the existing legislation to regulate the industry. A study by the Union government has pegged the number of people playing online games in the country at 400 million and expected to reach 700 million by 2025.

Several political parties in the state including Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) have been vociferously campaigning in the state for effecting a ban in the state for online games. However, as per IANS sources, if a total ban is implemented, it would lead to several legal battles, and hence it is contemplating a regulation of the game and to allow only a restricted amount to be spent in a fixed period of time to play online games.

The Bills have a somewhat easy stretch of eight games starting in November before ending the season with road games against the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals, plus a tough home game against the New England Patriots in Week 18.

We dont have too much faith in the Dolphins to usurp the Bills, which is why we love the Bills at -225 odds to win the AFC East. The Bills are tied with the Tampa Bay Bucs with the highest win total in the NFL at 11.5 o/u.

The Dolphins will ride or die with Tua Tagovailoa. If Tagovailoa can play an entire season without any serious health issues, then the Dolphins could win double-digit games and secure an AFC wild-card berth. But thats a big if. New head coach Mike McDaniel is another offensive wunderkind. The Dolphins plucked him off the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree, but McDaniel loves to think outside the box. Well see if the rookie head coach can handle the arduous task of being a head honcho in the NFL. Its a copycat league, and the Dolphins are desperate to find the next Sean McVay.

The Dolphins could begin the season 0-4 with games against the Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. Five of their final six games include four tough road games against the San Francisco 49ers, LA Chargers, Bills, and Patriots. They also host the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day. The Dolphins could end the season with a 1-5 clip with the Jets as their only easy game in the final six-pack of the season.

The Dolphins are +450 odds to win the AFC East for the first time since 2008. Based on their tough schedule, the Dolphins have a current win total of 9.0 o/u, and we like the under.

The Patriots have only missed winning the AFC East three times since 2002, including in both of the last two seasons. Bill Belichick will try to jumpstart the dynasty, but its rare to see the Patriots listed as the third favorite in the division. The Patriots face a challenging end of the season starting December with home games against the Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dolphins. Plus, they have tough road games against the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, and Bills to close out the season in Week 18.

Gross internet gaming and sports betting receipts from commercial and tribal operators were up 19.9% from $114.2m inJune 2021, but 14.9% lower than $160.9m inMay of this year.

Internet gaming gross receipts were 36.2% higher year-on-year at $121.5m. Sports betting gross receipts amounted to $15.4m, down 38.4% on last year, despite a 14.8% year-on-year increase in handle to $270.0m.

Total adjusted gross receipts, which account for promotional spending, were $114.4m, with $109.4m from igaming and $5.0m sports wagering.

Licensed operators submitted $22.8 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan during June including $22.5m in igaming taxes and fees and $328,954 worth of sports betting taxes and fees.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) also noted that aggregate igaming adjusted gross receipts reached $681.7m, with aggregate internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts at $74.1m.

Last week, it was reported that the three commercial casinos in Detroit, Michigan,posted $98.6m in total revenue during June, an 8.8% drop on the same month last year.

Revenue from the MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino and Penn Nationals Hollywood Casino at Greektown was down from $108.1m in June 2021 and also 9.3% lower than $108.7m in May of this year.

Breaking down the monthly performance, table games and slots were responsible for $98.2m of all revenue for the month, but this was 7.2% lower than in June of last year.

Turning to retail sports betting, and qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) here reached just $448,703, down 80.5% from $2.3m in June 2021, with players wagering a total of $22.4m.

It's not a magic bullet for homelessness, just like the lottery isn't a magic bullet for education spending in the state. The Midterm Elections aren't until November, but there are already dueling television advertisements about a California measure regarding sports betting.

Proposition 27 would allow online and mobile sports wagering. The ads in support of Prop 27 say it would help end homelessness by bringing more money into the state, whereas, the ads against the proposition say, if passed, Prop 27 would increase homelessness by allowing more people to be addicted to gambling.

KCRA 3 talked to two experts on the claims made in both ads: Isaac Hale, an assistant professor of politics at Occidental College, and Mary-Beth Moylan, the associate dean for Academic Affairs at the McGeorge School of Law.

Below are the claims made and one of the two expert's responses on how much truth there is behind the claim.

What the ad says: My tribe (Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California) has lived on this land for 12,000 years ... Our people once expansive, now whittled down to a small community.

Moylan: I don't know about his particular tribe. I do think that it is true that there are certainly California tribes that have been on the land for a long period of time that have been diminished over time.

Moylan's rating: Fact

Hale: It's no secret that the history of California is full of genocide and decimated populations for indigenous peoples in the state, and the Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California is no exception.

Hale: Fact

What the ad says: Only one proposition supports California tribes like ours while providing hundreds of millions in yearly funding to finally address homelessness in California.

Moylan: There are two propositions that both address some forms of sports wagering and only one that addresses online gaming: That is Prop 27. The providing hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to address homelessness and the support of tribes like the person in the videos what Proposition 27 does is it takes some of the taxes from the online sports wagering online gaming. It enables 85% of those funds to go to homelessness and mental health issues and 15% of it goes to a newly created fund called the Tribal Economic Trust Fund. That trust fund would be for money to be distributed to non-gaming tribes.

So, when he says that this supports tribes, the answer is it will support some tribes, tribes like his. The hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to address homelessness really depends on how much the total pool is that the state collects from the online gaming operations. There are some complex funding and tax provisions in this measure. The measure is over 60 pages long and it has a number of different provisions. It allows for credits to be given to some of the online gaming operators.

So how much we actually will see of the amounts that the gaming companies are bringing in to go into homelessness and to tribal economic support is not clear.

Moylan's rating: Partially true, somewhat misleading

Hale: It's not the only proposition on the ballot that would do this. And that's, I think, a false claim ... The second statement about addressing homelessness in California is half true. It will generate revenue dedicated to homelessness and tribal economic development. The exact amount is uncertain, though it's likely to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. But, you have to think about this sort of like the lottery. It's not a magic bullet for homelessness, just like the lottery isn't a magic bullet for education spending in the state. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of money the state would need to spend to solve homelessness.

Hale's rating: Half true, mostly false

What the ad says: Tax online sports betting and protect tribal sovereignty and help Californians who are hurting the most.

Moylan: It does tax online sports betting. I think depending on your perspective on what it means to protect tribal sovereignty, or who the Californians are who are hurting the most, some people might say, "Yes, that's true; it's going to protect tribes that don't have gaming casinos on their land, and it's going to help Californians who are experiencing homelessness and mental health issues."

Some people might argue that it's not really addressing tribal sovereignty at all. It's merely providing some money to certain tribes, and not all tribes in California. In fact, the lion's share of the money that has been raised on the no side of the Prop 27 campaign, tens of millions of dollars have been raised by other tribes. It's mostly tribes who are opposing Proposition 27, so I think those tribes would say that this doesn't protect their sovereignty.

Moylan's rating: Partially true

Hale: Yes, it will tax online sports betting, which is currently illegal in the state of California. It's not clear how this protects tribal sovereignty, especially as it shifts the locus of gambling in the state away from the tribes where it's historically been located to online sports betting companies like DraftKings.

In terms of helping Californians hurting the most, yes, they will raise money for homelessness, but as with Prop 26, let's not kid ourselves that increased gambling legality will necessarily be a net economic benefit for vulnerable populations.

Hale's rating: Half true

Moylan: I would say overall, the ad is misleading, although it does have elements of truth

Hale: I would give this ad half true.

What the ad says: Proposition 27 is being promoted by out-of-state gambling corporations.

Hale: Corporations like BetMGM located in New Jersey, FanDuel located in New York, and DraftKings located in Massachusetts are all major backers of Proposition 27. In addition, there will be a $100-million fee for operators who wish to engage in online sports betting in California, which critics argue would put market access out of reach for most gaming tribes in the state.

Hale's rating: True

Moylan: This is big companies like BetMGM and DraftKings. The monetary force behind this initiative is from out-of-state, very large gambling companies.

Moylan's rating: True

What the ad says: It would authorize a massive expansion of online sports gambling in California, turning every cell phone, laptop, tablet and even video game console into a gambling device, opening up online gambling to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Hale: Yes, it massively expands sports betting, which is a form of gambling and makes it extremely easy to access for adults. However, this statement implies that it's legalizing online gambling of all types. This doesn't legalize things like poker or blackjack online. This is specifically about sports betting.

Hale's rating: Half true

Moylan: It certainly would allow for online sports gambling. It certainly does allow cell phones, laptops, tablets, and video game consoles to be used for gambling. There are provisions in the law that say that gaming operators would need to use geolocation technology and geo-fencing technology to ensure that people who were putting bets in were actually physically present in California and also were not on tribal lands. Fact-checking Proposition 27: Experts weigh in on California sports betting measure - KCRA Sacramento

Clairiere and Malathaat share the same sire (Curlin) and the same breeder (Stonestreet Stables), so its only natural the two 4-year-old fillies share the same stage for the sixth time in Sundays Grade 2 Shuvee Stakes at Saratoga.

As rivalries go, this one took a while. But these two ride into the Shuvee with one of the best rivalries in horse racing. And the 1 1/8-mile Shuvee even with a small four-horse field provides yet another salvo in the battle for dominance in the older filly and mare division.

Why this rivalry took so long to finally crystalize was easy to define. Malathaat was the hammer and Clairiere was the nail. Todd Pletchers Malathaat won the first four meetings between the two, starting with last years Kentucky Oaks. The dominance continued through the CCA Oaks, where runner-up Malathaat finished one spot ahead of Clairiere and into Malathaats score in the Alabama a month later. It concluded in last Novembers Breeders Cup Distaff, where third-place Malathaat bested Clairiere by one spot and a quarter length.

Add it up and Malathaat defeated her erstwhile rival by a combined 10 lengths in the four races. Clairiere was good, but not quite good enough.

Until 2022. Until the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps on the Belmont Stakes undercard. Thats when Clairiere finally became the hammer. She was fourth of five at the half-mile pole: 14 lengths behind pace-setter Letruska. At the three-quarters pole, she remained fourth: 8 lengths back.

But Joel Rosario bided his time perfectly. He swung Clairiere four-wide coming into the stretch, then relentlessly reeled in both new leader Search Results and Malathaat. The head victory gave Clairiere her second Grade 1 win and her first over her rival. It also came with a career-best 106 Beyer Speed Figure.

It was a huge win for her to finally come out on the right end of Malathaat, a mare that I have the greatest respect for and last years deserving 3-year-old Champion Filly, a relieved trainer Steve Asmussen told the New York Racing Association. We always believed that Clairiere could get it done and last time out she did. That meant a lot to us.

Asmussen said this was one of the most gratifying victories of his career. Quite the statement, coming from North Americas all-time winningest trainer.

Thats what I love about horse racing. The last race is an indication of what youre capable of, but it will not give you a head start on the next one, Asmussen said. You have to do it again. Malathaat beat her twice here last year and I expect to have two more runs against her here this year with the ultimate goal being the Breeders Cup Distaff. Were at a very good level right now, but well keep our eye on the prize, and thats year-end honors.

Those year-end honors rightfully belonged to Malathaat last year. That third in the Breeders Cup Distaff is the only time Malathaat finished outside the exacta in 10 races (7-2-1). Shes already north of $2 million in career earnings with plenty of high-profile, big-money races in front of her.

That includes the Grade 1 Personal Ensign Aug. 27 at Saratoga. Naturally, Clairiere is expected there as well, because both trainers see the Shuvee as the natural prep for that race.

Malathaat comes into the Shuvee never losing back-to-back races. She opened her 2022 with a three-quarter length victory as the 3/10 favorite in the Grade 3 Doubledogdare at Keeneland in April. Shell continue it in the Shuvee sporting blinkers. She breezed with the new gear in 49.22 seconds for four furlongs July 17.

Weve thought about putting blinkers on her for a long time and it was hard to do last year because she was in the midst of such a good season, Pletcher said. Weve felt like in both starts this year, she kind of lost focus at a certain stage of the race, so we decided to breeze her in blinkers and felt we got the desired effect that we were looking for.

Looking for a piece of the Shuvee board along with any attention are Crazy Beautiful and Exotic West. Kenny McPeeks Crazy Beautiful comes in off a runner-up at the Lady Jacqueline at Thistledown in Ohio. Shes run 18 times at 10 tracks in her career, amassing a 7-5-1 record and more than $1 million. But shes never been a factor against Malathaat or Clairiere.

Crazy Beautiful has been an overachiever. Shes accomplished a lot, McPeek said. Shes doing exceptionally well here and shes going to need to find another level to beat Malathaat and Clairiere. Even if she is third or better, I think its going to be worth the try.

Exotic West pulled off a 10/1 upset at the Top Flight Invitational at Aqueduct in April. But she bounced badly in her next start, finishing 14 lengths behind Super Quick in the Allaire DuPont Distaff as the 3/2 favorite.
