Albion, MI (PRWEB) November 14, 2013

Narconon Freedom Center delivered drug prevention education to 95 students at a local school October 28th and 29th for Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is the Nations oldest and largest drug prevention program reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year.

The week pays tribute to Special Agent Kiki Camarena, an 11 year DEA veteran, who lost his life when on the trail of the countrys biggest marijuana and cocaine traffickers in 1985. Shortly after Kikis death, Congressman Duncan Hunter and Kikis high school friend Henry Lozano launched Camarena Clubs in Kikis hometown of Calexico, California. Red Ribbon Week grew out of these first efforts to honor Kiki and raise awareness of the dangers of drugs.

Each year Narconon Freedom Center Executive Director, Brian Kuehne, delivers drug education to local schools for Red Ribbon Week. I look forward to talking with the kids about drugs and raising their awareness on the dangers surrounding their use. There are many myths about drugs and kids often dont have a reliable resource to talk to about them so I get a lot of questions, says Kuehne.

Students attending Kuehnes talks write thank you notes and tell him things they realized. Three of them are shared here:

One thing I will remember is how hard and long it took for people that do drugs to remember things. I want to be able to pull memories at any time and have them be good memories. Thank you so much for coming to talk to us. M.R.

Thanks so much for coming to our class. It was really great how you shared your story with us. Your visit impacted myself and many of my classmates in a positive way, and will help us make better choices in the future. J.B.

Thank you for coming here and telling us your story. Ill never forget: Drugs = poison, little bit = enough, more = passed out, too much = kills Uncle Ernie. You made it more real than just teaching it. J.D.
