Man charged for meth and theft at casino – nwestiowa.com

LARCHWOODA 52-year-old Sioux Falls, SD, man was arrested about 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, on charges of first-offense possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, first-offense possession of a controlled substance marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree theft at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort northwest of Larchwood.

The arrest of John Christopher Ulrich stemmed from him stealing a wallet off a chair while on the gaming floor of the casino on Sunday, Feb. 13, according to the Lyon County Sheriffs Office.

Ulrich then went to the bathroom and left the casino through a back door.

The wallet contained $400-$600 in cash, credit cards and gift cards.

Ulrich returned to the casinos gaming floor on Feb. 21. He was placed in handcuffs and removed from the casino.

While in the parking lot, Ulrich tossed a drawstring bag that he had.

Authorities found individual bags containing methamphetamine, two meth pipes, a container of marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the drawstring bag, according to court documents.
