Global Gold Exploration Snapshot: Eight companies on the move – The Northern Miner

Posted: March 21, 2021 at 4:47 pm

With golds reputation as a store of value and recent gold-focused merger and acquisition activity, there is renewed investor interest in companies active in this exploration, development and production space. Below we profile eight companies focused on the precious metal.

American Creek Resources

American Creek Resources (TSXV: AMK; US-OTC: ACKRF) holds a 20% carried interest in the Treaty Creek gold-silver project in northwest B.C.s Golden Triangle. Tudor Gold (TSXV: TUD) holds a 60% interest in the project and is the operator while Teuton Resources (TSXV: TUO) also owns a 20% share. Both American Creek and Teutons interests are carried until they receive a production notice for the project they would then be required to contribute their 20% shares of development costs.

In March, Tudor announced an initial resource estimate for the Goldstorm and Copper Belle zones at Treaty Creek. Total resource figures feature 815.7 million measured and indicated tonnes at 0.66 gram gold per tonne, 3.6 grams silver per tonne and 0.06% copper that contain 19.4 million gold-equivalent ounces. Inferred resources add 311.7 million tonnes grading 0.72 gram gold, 4 grams silver and 0.05% copper and host an additional 7.9 million gold-equivalent ounces.

The pit-constrained measured and indicated resource includes 609.8 million tonnes grading 0.72 gram gold-equivalent, host to 14.2 million gold-equivalent ounces. Additional in-pit inferred resources stand at 139.4 million tonnes at 0.77 gram gold-equivalent, containing 3.5 million gold-equivalent ounces.

This year, Tudor plans to continue drilling Goldstorm to define the limits of its component zones with additional work scheduled for the Eureka and Perfect Storm areas.

Tudor Golds initial metallurgical test work suggests excellent gold recoveries to a gravity and flotation concentrate with no deleterious elements, according to the company.

The 179-sq.-km property borders Seabridge Golds (TSX: SEA; NYSE: SA) KSM project to the southwest and Pretium Resources (TSX: PVG; NYSE: PVG) Brucejack property to the southeast.

In the Kamloops mining district in south-central B.C., American Creek owns the Austruck-Bonanza gold-silver-copper project. The property is in the southern extension of the prospective Quesnel Trough.

At the end of February, American Creek completed the spinout of the Dunwell property in the Golden Triangle, among other mineral assets to Stinger Resources (TSXV: STNG) in exchange for 45 million shares of Stinger. These shares were distributed to American Creek shareholders on a pro-rata basis.

American Creek Resources has a $121.3 million market capitalization.

Goliath Resources

Goliath Resources (TSXV: GOT; US-OTC: GOTRF) is a junior explorer with a portfolio of properties in B.C.s Golden Triangle and in Quebecs Abitibi greenstone belt. The company may earn up to a 100% interest in the Golddigger and Lucky Strike projects in the western province and holds the Nelligan East and West properties in Quebec.

At 238.6 sq. km, Golddigger is 30 km southeast of Stewart and lies along the Eskay Rift. The 4-sq.-km Surebet zone discovery on the site is approximately 8 km southwest of Fury Gold Mines (TSX: FURY) Homestake Ridge project and lies within a shear zone. Surebet is made up of northwest to southeast-trending structures with gold-silver mineralization in an alteration halo. Approximately 1,000 metres of its strike is exposed at surface as well as 500 metres of vertical relief with an inferred down-dip span of 1,000 metres. Goliath expects this zone to cover 2 km of strike.

The exploreco has defined 11 drill targets along the 1,000-metre strike of Surebet, with an additional target identified at the East Splay zone, approximately 200 metres away.

In November, Goliath announced channel sample assays from the Main and Upper Main Waterfall zones at Surebet. Highlights from the Main Waterfall area include 15.1 metres of 7.64 grams gold per tonne, 382 grams silver per tonne, 0.04% copper, 0.83% lead and 0.52% zinc (13.05 grams gold-equivalent). In 2020, Upper Main Waterfall returned a 10-metre interval of 14.11 grams gold.

Both of these areas remain open and are now ready for drilling Goliath is planning to complete an initial drill program at Surebet this year.

In March, Goliath completed a $2.9 million non-brokered financing with Eric Sprott and Crescat Capital Sprott and Crescat now own 8.3% and 9.9% of the company.

The companys 315.1-sq.-km Lucky Strike property in B.C. is south of the Golden Triangle and hosts an outcropping gold-copper-moly porphyry system. Highlights from 2019 drilling included 20.7 metres of 0.39 gram gold-equivalent. Results from last years geochemical program suggest a large porphyry system at the site.

The Nelligan East and West holdings are in the Chibougamau-Chapais mining camp. Nelligan Easts western boundary is 8 km east of the past-producing Joe Mann mine, where Dore Copper (TSXV: DCMC; US-OTC: DRCMF) may earn up to a 100% interest. Nelligan West is 30 km from the Nelligan gold project under an earn-in to joint venture agreement between Iamgold (TSX: IMG; NYSE: IAG) and Vanstar Mining Resources (TSXV: VSR; US-OTC: VMNGF).

Goliath Resources has a $31 million market capitalization.

New Gold

New Gold (TSX: NGD; NYSE: NGD) is a two-asset gold and copper producer, with its Rainy River open pit mine in Ontario and the New Afton block cave in B.C.

This year, Rainy River is expected to generate 275,000 to 295,000 gold-equivalent oz. at all-in sustaining costs of US$1,125 to US$1,225 per gold-equivalent ounce. New Afton is expected to generate 52,000 to 62,000 oz. of gold and 56 million to 66 million lb. of copper (165,000 to 195,000 gold-equivalent oz.) at AISCs of US$1,225 to US$1,325 per gold-equivalent ounce. These numbers would bring total expected output for 2021 to 440,000 to 490,000 gold-equivalent ounces.

Over the next four years (by 2025), the miner expects to grow its production to the 575,000 gold-equivalent oz. a year level as the Rainy River underground and New Afton C-zone come on-line. Company-wide AISCs are expected to trend down to approximately US$800 per gold-equivalent oz. by 2025. New Gold expects this production schedule to generate an estimated US$1.5 billion in free cash flow over the next five years, assuming US$1,800 per oz. gold, US$3.25 per lb. copper and US$20 per oz. silver.

At Rainy River, the focus this year is on underground decline development to the Intrepid zone, with the first ore level accessed in the first quarter, and on refining the underground mining plan ahead of first underground production that is scheduled for 2022. An economic study is also underway to evaluate a stand-alone underground mine at the site that could extend the mine life beyond 2028. Exploration at Rainy River is focused on the North East trend target, where two coincident geochemical and geophysical anomalies have been defined within a 15 km structural corridor.

First production from the deeper New Afton C-zone is expected by the second half of 2023. This year, the company expects to spend US$80 to US$110 million on growth capital at the mine the majority of this spend will go towards C-zone development and tailings facility construction and stabilization. A 10,000-metre exploration program at the Cherry Creek area, 3 km from the New Afton mill, started last year, with over 6,500 metres completed in the fourth quarter of 2020, targeting near-surface epithermal and porphyry-style mineralization.

In March, the producer announced a $24.8 million investment in Harte Gold (TSX: HRT; US-OTC: HRTFF), giving it a 14.9% stake in the Ontario focused single-asset producer.

New Gold also has an 8% gold stream on the first 280,000 gold ounces produced from Artemis Golds (TSXV: ARTG) Blackwater project, declining to 4% thereafter.

New Gold has a $1.5 billion market capitalization.

Prime Mining

Prime Mining (TSXV: PRYM; US-OTC: PRMNF) is working to advance the 63-sq.-km Los Reyes low-sulphidation epithermal gold-silver Los Reyes project in Mexicos Sinaloa state into production.

Last April, Prime published an updated pit-constrained oxide resource for the site, based on a heap leach processing scenario, with 19.8 million measured and indicated tonnes grading 1 gram gold per tonne and 26.15 grams silver per tonne (1.31 gram gold-equivalent), containing 833,000 gold-equivalent ounces. Inferred resources add 7.1 million tonnes at 0.78 gram gold and 29.95 grams silver (1.14 gram gold-equivalent) for a further 261,000 gold-equivalent ounces.

The resource remains open with an additional eight to ten high-grade unexplored discoveries at the site. Over 17.5 km of mineralized strike has been outlined at the project to date, 40% of this strike has been explored to date.

In mid-March, Prime announced that it had filed an application for an additional 75 sq. km of mineral rights, the El Rey claim block, that adjoins the eastern and northeastern boundaries of Los Reyes.

Also in March, the company released initial results from a 15,000-metre diamond drill program at Los Reyes. Assays from the Guadalupe East area included 20.1 metres of 3.25 grams gold and 380 grams silver at approximately 320 metres below the surface as well as 3.8 metres of 3.69 grams gold and 305.1 grams silver from the San Nicholas vein, below the resource. Mapping and sampling at the Mina 20/21 area also discovered a historic mining zone. The chip sampling returned a number of mineralized intervals, including 3 metres of 29.8 grams gold and 1,132 grams silver.

Five drills are working at the site. Primes exploration strategy includes upgrading the inferred resource with 1,500 metres of shallow drilling; expanding the resource along strike and down-dip with 3,500 metres of drilling; and defining new targets in unexplored areas 5,000 metres of drilling is underway. The company has also completed trenching to infill and grow the resource and is completing 3,500 metres of surface trenching to outline new targets.

Past operators spent over US$20 million on exploration and engineering at the site over a 25 year period.

Prime Mining has a $249 million market capitalization.

Tanzanian Gold

Tanzanian Gold (TSX: TNX; NYSE: TRX) is derisking and advancing the Buckreef gold project in Tanzania through the scale-up of an operating oxide plant at the site while also completing a feasibility for underlying sulphides.

The company expects to expand the plant from its current pilot run rate of five tonnes per hour to 40 tonnes per hour in the next 12 months, to reach a gold production rate of 15,000 to 20,000 oz. a year.

Longer term, Tanzanian Gold is looking to establish a significant sulphide operation at Buckreef, with feasibility study results expected in the next 12 to 18 months.

In February, the company released initial metallurgical test results on the sulphide component of Buckreef diamond core samples grading between 0.54 gram and 19.4 grams gold suggest gold recoveries of between 85.3% and 95.4%. The proposed flowsheet includes crushing, grinding and flotation, regrinding and cyanidation to produce dore.

The Buckreef deposit hosts measured and indicated resources of 35.9 million tonnes grading 1.77 grams gold per tonne, containing 2 million gold oz. and an inferred resource of 17.8 million tonnes at 1.11 grams gold, for a further 635,540 ounces.

Mineralization at the Buckreef deposit has been traced over 1,200 metres of strike at the Main zone and to depths of over 500 metres. Tanzanian Gold says it sees considerable exploration upside at the site.

Buckreef lies in north-central Tanzania, 40 km southwest of the town of Geita, and within the Archean-age Lake Victoria Greenstone belt. The State of Tanzania operated Buckreef as an underground mine in the late 1980s. Barrick Golds (TSX: ABX; NYSE: GOLD) Bulyanhulu mine and AngloGold Ashantis (NYSE: AU; JSE: ANG) Geita mine are within a 65 km radius.

The Tanzanian government holds a 45% interest in the project. Tanzanian Gold is the majority shareholder and operator. Buckreef is made up of a 16-sq.-km Special Mining License (SML) and 12 prospecting licenses that cover 98.2 sq. km. The SML is permitted for oxide and sulphide operations.

Over the past four months, Tanzanian Gold has announced management moves to help move the company from the explorer category to the developer and producer tiers. In February, geoscientist Andrew Cheatle was named chief operating officer and in December, Stephen Mullowney joined the company as CEO.

In February, the company closed a stock offering, for net proceeds of US$19.8 million.

Tanzanian Gold has a $220.8 million market capitalization.

Torex Gold

Torex Golds (TSX: TXG) flagship asset is the 290-sq.-km Morelos gold property in Guerrero state, Mexico. The project includes the operating El Limon Guajes mining complex, with three open pits and an underground mine, a processing plant, as well as the Media Luna underground deposit, 7 km from the plant.

This year, Torex expects El Limon Guajes to produce 430,000 to 470,000 gold oz., at all-in sustaining costs of US$920 to US$970 per ounce.

The producer is working on a feasibility study for Media Luna, expected in the first quarter of 2022, ahead of first production targeted for 2024. Together with the feasibility, Torex plans to release an updated mine plan for El Limon Guajes.

The Media Luna deposit includes 12.6 million indicated tonnes grading 5.55 grams gold per tonne, for a total of 2.2 million gold-equivalent oz. and 33.5 million inferred tonnes at 4.23 grams gold, containing 4.6 gold-equivalent ounces.

As part of its Media Luna technical work, Torex is looking at both a conventional mine design as well as at a mine plan that would use the companys proprietary Muckahi mining system. This year, the miner expects to spend US$125 million to US$150 million in non-sustaining capital to advance Media Luna and complete development work at El Limon Guajes, which includes a third portal to reduce underground haul distances. The majority of this years US$90 to US$100 million investment in Media Luna is intended for a 7-km tunnel and for a portal that would allow access to upper portions of the deposit from the south.

The Muckahi mining system, developed by Torex, features conveyor-based transport of broken rock from a stope to surface using an overhead monorail up ramps with an approximate incline of 30 degrees. Last year, the company successfully demonstrated that the individual system components were able to move rock. This year, Torex plans to field test the components as a single system in the upper portions of El Limon Deep.

Aside from these two mining centres, approximately 75% of Morelos remains unexplored. This year, Torex is planning to spend US$2.5 million on regional exploration.

Victoria Gold

Victoria Gold (TSX: VGCX) is ramping up its Eagle gold mine in the Yukon. The heap leach mine reached the commercial production milestone in July 2020 and is expected to generate 180,000 to 210,000 oz. of gold this year at all-in sustaining costs of US$1,050 to US$1,175 per ounce.

As part of its Project 250k the company is working to grow its output to 250,000 oz. a year by 2023. Victoria is looking at options such as year-round stacking onto the leach pad, screening fines before crushing and lowering the cut-off grade and increasing the amount of material hauled directly to the leach pad. Currently there is no stacking to the Eagle leach pad between January and March due to the cold Yukon weather.

At the same time, the growing miner is also looking to extend the Eagle mine life. While a 2019 technical report outlined an operation producing over 210,000 gold oz. a year over a plus-ten-year life, Victoria has its sights set on a mine life extension out to 2040, dubbed Project 2040.

The Eagle mine lies within the 555-sq.-km Dublin Gulch property and is made up of the Eagle and Olive deposits. Current reserves across the two total 155 million tonnes grading 0.65 gram gold per tonne, for a total of 3.3 million gold ounces.

This year, Victoria expects to spend $12.5 million on exploration. There is potential upside for resource and reserve growth near-mine and at regional targets. The Eagle pit, planned to a depth of 350 metres, hosts mineralization to depths of up to 650 metres. Victoria is also planning to infill the Olive deposit and drilling 10,000 metres at Eagle, targeting mineralization below and around the pit.

Regional targets include Nugget and Raven (with 14,000 metres scheduled between June and October), Lynx, VBW/Falcon and Olive-Shamrock. Victoria also plans to complete trenching and collect soil samples across its property.

In December, Victoria reported drill results from Lynx, with near-surface highlights of 153.8 metres of 0.49 gram gold and 11.9 metres of 1.26 grams gold. Novembers drillhole assays from Raven included 19 metres of 3.95 grams gold and 13.2 metres of 3.05 grams gold.

Victoria Gold has a $807.6 million market capitalization.

Westhaven Gold

Westhaven Gold (TSXV: WHN) is exploring for gold at its 176.2-sq.-km road-accessible Shovelnose project at the southern edge of the Spences Bridge gold belt in B.C., 30 km south of Merritt. The company sees potential for a low-sulphidation epithermal system at the site.

Drilling completed between 2018 and 2020 has defined three major vein systems at the site associated with four areas of high-grade gold-silver mineralization. The largest, Vein zone 1, has been traced over 4 km of strike and includes the FMN, Franz and South areas; Westhaven has also hit high-grade gold at the Lear target.

In March, the company reported results from its 43,166-metre 2020 drill program at Shovelnose. Drill highlights included 6 metres of 2.36 grams gold per tonne and 98.42 grams silver per tonne from FMN; and 0.6 metre of 6.05 grams gold and 148 grams silver from Franz. At FMN (a December discovery), gold and silver has been traced over 200 metres of strike while Franz (discovered in September) has been defined over 650 metres. With a 600-metre gap between FMN and Franz, drilling is ongoing to test this strike.

The December FMN assays included 19.9 metres of 2.62 grams gold and 139.75 grams silver.

At the South zone, a 2018 discovery, drilling has hit the three gold-bearing vein zones. Drillholes completed in 2019 returned 15.5 metres of 4.8 grams gold and 61.21 grams silver and 12.7 metres of 39.31 grams gold and 133.11 grams silver. An initial resource for the South zone is expected this year.

In March, Westhaven closed a $15 million bought deal. This year, the explorer plans to drill over 40,000 metres. This work will focus on Vein zone 1.

The company also holds the Skoonka North, Skoonka Creek and Prospect Valley projects along the 110 km Spences Bridge belt, with a total land position of 370 sq. km along the belt.

Westhaven Gold has a $75.7 million market capitalization.

Parts of the TTC are apparently being held together with duct tape – blogTO

Posted: at 4:47 pm

Between overcrowding, technical issues, hours-longdelaysand more, Torontoniansusuallyhave a lot to complain aboutas far as the TTC is concerned or at least did during thepre-COVID era when more of us were riding the rocket.

But the things going on behind the scenes in at least one portionof the system that is on its way out may be worse than commuters even know.

According to a report about the aging Line 3 Scarborough RT that was recently obtained in partby CTV News, the line has well surpassed its purported service life of 30 years, leading to some haphazard bandaidsbefore it is decommissioned in a few years' time to be replaced by a proper subway.

The documentcites "heavily worn" brakes, parts of which "display signs of corrosion," as well as other componentsthat are "in poor condition" and need "urgent attention."

This includes the wiring of the trains, some of which is actually currently being held together and poorly sealed with duct tape, the report revealspart of the "piecemeal approach used in maintenance" of thesix-station (including both terminuses), 6.4 km-long, 36-year old line.

Details like this arepart of the reason that TTC staff are asking that the RTbe taken out of use earlier than planned, even if it means residents have to ride buses for years in the interim before the Scarborough Subway Extension is complete in 2029-2030.

It is also noteworthy that the report, titledIntegrity Assessment for Life Extension, is from all the way back in 2016, begging the question of whether things havedeteriorated even more since.

City Councillors who support the idea of trying to replace the line with new LRT infrastructure rather than build thesubway, which will be more expensive and service less of the area, are now demanding it be released to the public.

Despite this somewhat scary news of the true state of Line 3, things in general for TTC riders have been looking up lately, with multiple new lines in the works, contactless card payment and other solutions potentially on the wayanda young new commissioner in charge.

As for the RT, we may also be seeing its raised tracks eventually turned into some cool new public green space reminiscent of New York City's High Line.

SDSU Extension to Cover Dry Cow Therapy in Spanish at CPDE – Yankton Daily Press

Posted: at 4:47 pm

BROOKINGS SDSU Extension will once again offer educational programming in Spanish at the 2021 Central Plains Dairy Expo (CPDE) in Sioux Falls.

Maristela Rovai, assistant professor and SDSU Extension dairy specialist, along with Raul Mendoza, a South Dakota commercial dairy farm herdsman, will present "Dry Cow Therapy: Aim, Applicability and Advice" ("Terapia de Secado: Objetivo, Aplicabilidad y Recomendaciones").

"One of the most important concerns during the dry-cow period is the high gland susceptibility to intramammary infections (i.e., mastitis)," says Rovai. "It is estimated that over 40% of all antibiotics used are during the dry-off period."

To ensure cow comfort and udder health during the dry-off period, Rovai says several protocols are available that may include prophylactic antimicrobials and teat sealants. The use of these intramammary tubes requires hygiene, care and consistency at the time of application. While producers and veterinarians are responsible for choosing the best dry-off treatment for each farm, employees are accountable for ensuring protocols are followed.

Dry cow therapy may seem simple, but it requires proper training for the employees," Rovai says.

Rovai and Mendoza will present Thursday, March 25, at 2:30 p.m. CST. Both presenters are veterinarians by training from Brazil and Mexico, respectively. The hands-on portion will include real cow udders to apply the knowledge acquired in the presentation, plus real-life examples to share with attendees.

Held at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, CPDE attracts approximately 4,000 dairy-focused individuals to the event each year. Rovai says a significant portion of farmworkers that attend are Hispanic or Latino, whose primary language is Spanish.

When you live and work in a foreign country, you tend to enjoy the conversations and seminars presented in your native language. Some Spanish speakers are very comfortable communicating in English, however, others have to make an extra effort to communicate and follow in English," Rovai says. "As educators, we use resources to engage the audience and teach them important work-related applications. The seminar in Spanish also will attract, involve and empower Hispanic employees. The seminar will provide more knowledge and will boost employee morale within the workplace."

Ludwig Ahgren: The Twitch Livestream Subathon – The New York Times

Posted: at 4:47 pm

On Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m., Ludwig Ahgren, a Twitch streamer in Los Angeles, turned his camera on and began streaming. He hasnt stopped.

Over the past five days Mr. Ahgren has maintained a near constant livestream of his life. He plays video games, chats, cooks, eats and sleeps, all on stream. In the evenings, he hosts movie nights with his viewers. Mr. Ahgren lives with five roommates and his girlfriend, and some of them also play a role on camera, helping him cook or working out together.

He even streamed himself in the shower (with shorts on).

All of this is part of what is known on Twitch as a subathon. A subathon is a short period of time when a streamer will engage in certain activities or stunts to accrue paid subscriptions to his or her channel. Some streamers set numeric goals. For instance, if they reach 2,000 new subs, theyll eat something spicy on camera or play a particular game for fans.

Mr. Ahgren, 25, structured his subathon so that every new subscription adds an additional 10 seconds to a clock that dictates how long hell stream. When Mr. Ahgren set things up this way, he imagined that hed be streaming for 24 hours max, maybe 48. Five days later, his subathon stream has blown up and become the top stream on Twitch, driving tens of thousands of new subscriptions daily as fans pay to see how long he can go. He has gained more than 40,000 new subscriptions since he began streaming.

The weirdest thing is every time I wake up, it feels like it gets bigger and bigger, Mr. Ahgren said. Last night, I went to bed with 30,000 viewers and 60,000 subs. I woke up and I was at 70,000 viewers and 70,000 subs.

Thats because as Mr. Ahgren sleeps, an army of fans works overtime to maximize his subscribers. They chat and play YouTube clips and videos for one another to keep the channel entertaining. Mr. Ahgrens name has trended on Twitter twice in the past week, both times while he was asleep.

At night, the rest of us do his content for him, said a 21-year-old college student who goes by Happygate and acts as one of Mr. Ahgrens moderators. We try to keep everyone excited and highly motivated to see this go on as long as possible.

The sleep streams have been really interesting, said Stephen Seaver, 15, a high school student in Georgia. Basically what happens is his mods thats short for moderators get on a Discord call and theyre calling and talking the entire time, shilling out of their mind for subs. The idea is that its funny, while hes sleeping the timer is going up.

Sleep streams have become popular throughout the pandemic on Twitch and TikTok, where fans say they enjoy the late-night pop-up communities that sleep streams facilitate. Creators like them because theyre able to make money literally while they sleep.

I fell asleep on stream last night and became the most watched streamer on Twitch, Mr. Ahgren tweeted on Monday. What the hell is even that. Later Monday evening, Twitch wished Mr. Ahgren Goodnight from its official Twitter account.

Twitch, which has been owned by Amazon since 2014, has seen a rapid surge in popularity over the past year. The site had already expanded from a place where gamers could broadcast their play of Fortnite and Call of Duty into a broader platform that included lifestyle, cooking and political streams. The coronavirus pandemic accelerated that growth as people stuck at home looked for online entertainment.

Erin Wayne, head of community and creator marketing at Twitch, said that streams like Mr. Ahgrens were becoming more prevalent on the platform. Its the idea of multiplayer entertainment, where the community is able to impact the content that a creator makes, will continue to grow in popularity, she said. The person consuming the content is able to directly impact, and, in some cases, dictate what happens in the content they consume. Its so inherently unique to Twitch. I think thats why these types of marathons or subscriber streams are so popular.

Mr. Ahgrens stream can be seen as an extension of the trend of creators monetizing more and more parts of their lives, from daily decisions on what to eat or wear to who they should hang out with. Streams like his can generate a deeper connection with fans, who view the subathon as a collective community experience.

No matter what time of day you tune in, his stream is up and running, and youll see many familiar faces in chat, Nathan Grayson, a gaming reporter, wrote at Kotaku. Its only been running for three days, but it already feels like comfort food.

It was this type of comfort and connection that Mr. Seaver said drew him in. Even though the content of the stream might not be particularly special, its the fact that youre all part of this community watching this really rare event, he said. You get to watch Ludwigs entire life for days. Its not great for him, but you get so much content out of it and you get that you as a community got together and were able to see this thing happen.

As a result, more and more people have been able to earn a living through streaming on the platform full time, with a handful of the highest-earning streamers making more than $1 million a year, according to a September study by the online lender CashNetUS.

Twitchs growth mirrors the overall boom in the gaming industry in 2020. Stay-at-home orders combined with the release of a new generation of video game consoles from Microsoft and Sony in November led to a financial bonanza; gamers spent a record $56.9 billion last year in the United States, up 27 percent from 2019, according to the NPD Group.

While Mr. Ahgren has already made six figures off his stream, he has encouraged his young fans to be responsible with their money. Ive been just telling them, Hey, dont use your stimulus check on me, he said. Make sure your bread is right before giving it away.

No one knows how long Mr. Ahgren can go. Other Twitch streamers have streamed relatively continuously for over 31 days, but Mr. Ahgren said he couldnt imagine things would get to that point.

He does have a trip coming up to visit his girlfriends family in a week several hours north, so hes hoping things will end before then. If it doesnt, hell have to figure out a way to take his stream on the road. I think this is a cool, once-in-a-lifetime experience, Mr. Ahgren said of his stream. Im kind of excited every day to wake up because its never going to happen to me again.

Will New COVID Vaccine Make You Transhuman? (You Need to …

Posted: at 4:47 pm

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

If you watch no other video, PLEASE make time to watch the one below!

In the past few years, there has been considerable discussion around the idea we are slowly merging with our technology, that we are becoming transhuman, with updated abilities, including enhanced intelligence, strength, and awareness,Sahota writes.

The goal of the transhumanist movement, or Human 2.0, is to transcend biology into technology. Or, as Dr. Carrie Madej explains in the video above, to meld human biology with technology and artificial intelligence.

Two visible proponents of transhumanism are Ray Kurzweil (director of engineering at Google since 2012) and Elon Musk (founder of SpaceX, Tesla and Neuralink).

According to Madej, right now, today, we may be standing at the literal crossroads of transhumanism, thanks to the fast approaching release of one or more mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

Many of theCOVID-19 vaccines currently being fast-trackedare not conventional vaccines. Their design is aimed at manipulating your very biology, and therefore have the potential to alter the biology of the entire human race.

Conventional vaccines train your body to recognize and respond to the proteins of a particular virus by injecting a small amount of the actual viral protein into your body, thereby triggering an immune response and the development of antibodies.

This is not what happens with an mRNA vaccine. The theory behind these vaccines is that when you inject the mRNA into your cells, it will stimulate your cells to manufacture their own viral protein.2The mRNA COVID-19 vaccine will be the first of its kind. No mRNA vaccine has ever been licensed before. And, to add insult to injury, theyre forgoing all animal safety testing.

Madej reviews some of the background of certain individuals participating in the race for a COVID-19 vaccine, which include Moderna co-founder Derrick Rossi, a Harvard researcher who successfully reprogrammed stem cells using modified RNA, thus changing the function of the stem cells. Moderna was founded on this concept of being able to modify human biological function through genetic engineering, Madej says.

As mentioned, the mRNA vaccines are designed to instruct your cells to make the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, the glycoprotein that attaches to the ACE2 receptor of the cell. This is the first stage of the two-stage process viruses use to gain entry into cells.

The idea is that by creating the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, your immune system will mount a response to it and begin producing antibodies to the virus. However, as reported by The Vaccine Reaction, researchers have pointed out potential weaknesses:3

According to researchers at University of Pennsylvania and Duke University, mRNA vaccines have potential safety issues, including local and systemic inflammation and stimulation of auto-reactive antibodies and autoimmunity, as well as development of edema (swelling) and blood clots.4

Systemic inflammation, auto-reactive antibodies and autoimmune problems are not insignificant concerns. In fact, these are in large part why previous attempts to create a coronavirus vaccine have ALL failed.

Over the past 20 years, coronavirus vaccine research has been plagued by one consistent adverse outcome in particular, namely paradoxical immune enhancement. This is caused by the fact that coronaviruses produce two different types of antibodies neutralizing antibodies5that fight the infection, and binding antibodies6(also known as nonneutralizing antibodies) that cannot prevent viral infection.

Incapable of preventing viral infection, binding antibodies can instead trigger paradoxical immune enhancement. What that means is that it looks good until you get the disease, and then it makes the disease far worse than it would have been otherwise. As detailed in myinterview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in one coronavirus vaccine trial using ferrets, all the vaccinated animals died when exposed to the actual virus.

According to Madej, animal studies have also found the type of mRNA technology introduced with this vaccine can increase the risk of cancer and mutagenesis (gene mutations).

Madej goes on to discuss how this mRNA vaccine is going to be administered. Rather than a conventional injection, the vaccine will be administered using a microneedle platform. Not only can it be mass produced quickly, but it can also be administered by anyone. Its as simple at attaching an adhesive bandage to your arm.

The adhesive side of the bandage has rows of tiny microneedles and a hydrogel base that contains luciferase enzyme and the vaccine itself. Because of their tiny size, the microneedles are said to be nearly painless when pressed into the skin.

The idea is that the microneedles will puncture the skin, delivering the modified synthetic RNA into the nucleus of your cells. RNA is essentially coding material that your body uses. In this case, as mentioned, the instructions are to produce the SARS-CoV-2 viral protein.

Synthetic genes can be patented. If inserting a synthetic RNA ends up creating permanent changes in the genome, humans will contain patentable genes. What will that mean for us, seeing how patents have owners, and owners have patent rights?

The problem with all of this, Madej notes, is that theyre using a process called transfection a process used to create genetically modified organisms. She points out that research has confirmedGMO foodsare not as healthy as conventional unmodified foods. The question is, might we also become less healthy?

Vaccine manufacturers have stated that this will not alter our DNA, our genome,Madej says. I say that is not true. Because if we use this process to make a genetically modified organism, why would it not do the same thing to a human? I dont know why theyre saying that.

If you look at the definition of transfection, it will tell you that it can be a temporary change in the cell. And I think that is what the vaccine manufacturers are banking on.

Or, its a possibility for it to become stable, to be taken up into the genome, and to be so stable that it will start replicating when the genome replicates. Meaning it is now a permanent part of your genome. Thats a chance that were taking. It could be temporary, or it could be permanent.

Naturally, we wont find out the truth about whether the vaccine causes a temporary or permanent change for many years after the experimental vaccine is introduced, and thats an important piece of information.

Why? Because synthetic genes can be patented. So, if inserting a synthetic RNA ends up creating permanent changes in the genome, humans will contain patentable genes. What will that mean for us, seeing how patents have owners, and owners have patent rights?

Another part of the delivery system that raises its own set of questions is the use of the enzyme luciferase, which has bioluminescent qualities. While invisible under normal conditions, using a cellphone app or special device, you will be able to see a glowing vaccination mark.

As described in the journal RSC Advances7in 2015, luciferase gene-loaded quantum dots can efficiently deliver genes into cells. The abstract discusses their use as self-illuminating probes for hepatoma imaging, but the fact that quantum dots can deliver genetic material is interesting in itself.https://www.youtube.com/embed/nh_oDpZl1XI?wmode=transparent&rel=0

The hydrogel, meanwhile, is a DARPA invention that involves nanotechnology and nanobots. This bioelectronic interface is part of how the vaccination mark will be able to connect to your smartphone, Madej says, providing information about blood sugar, heart rate and any number of other biological data.

It has the potential to see almost anything that goes on in your body, Madej says. This will have immediate ramifications for our privacy, yet no one has yet addressed where this information will be going. Who will collect and have access to all this data? Who will be responsible for protecting it? How will it be used?

Also, if your cellphone can receive information from your body, what information can your body receive from it, or other sources? Could transmissions affect our mood? Our behavior? Our physical function? Our thoughts or memories?

In his Forbes article,8Sahota quotes Kurzweils book The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology, in which Kurzweil states:

The Singularity will represent the culmination of the merger of our biological thinking and existence with our technology, resulting in a world that is still human but that transcends our biological roots.

If Madej turns out to be correct, and the mRNA vaccine ushers in the ability to alter not only our genes but also opens the door for nanotechnology-driven interfacing between our bodies and programmable technology, arent we in fact stepping over the line into transhuman territory?

The Truthstream Media video above discusses the larger issues of transhumanism and the race to merge man with machine and artificial intelligence. There are even ongoing attempts to upload the human mind into the cloud, ultimately creating a form of digital hive mind where everyone communicates via Wi-Fi telepathy. This, despite the fact we still do not fully understand what the mind actually is, or where its located.

Another transhumanist that has recently brought us to a brand-new precipice is Elon Musk, with his latest venture, Neuralink, described in the video presentation given in late August, above. Neuralink is a transcranial implant that uses direct current stimulation. For now, the device is aimed at helping people with brain or spinal injuries.

Ultimately, the goal is to merge the human brain with computers. I have strong reservations about this. Theres tremendous room for unintended psychological and psychiatric consequences. In an interview that I did with psychiatrist Dr. Peter Breggin that has not yet been published, he discussed his concerns with this technology, saying:

Whats interesting to me is that while Musk is so brilliant, hes stupid about the brain. Thats probably because the neurosurgeons and psychiatrists he consults are stupid about the brain. I mean theyre just stupid.

He wants to put in multiple threadlike electrodes into the brain, into webs of neurons, and put in low voltage stimulation. This is insane. The brain cant tolerate this. He hopes to [be able to] communicate but theres not going to be any communication.

The brain isnt going to talk to these electrodes. Thats not how the brain works. The brain talks to itself. Its not going to talk to Elon Musk [or anyone else] and hes going to disrupt the brain talking to itself. Its a terrible thing to do.

I wish somebody who knows Elon Musk would say, You ought to talk to Peter Breggin. He says your consultants are stupid. Hes already planning to try to get FDA approval for some neurological disorders and thatll be the beginning of the onslaught.

Getting back to the mRNA vaccines, time will tell just how hazardous they end up being. Clearly, if the changes end up being permanent, the chance of long-term side effects is much greater than if they end up being temporary.

In a worst-case scenario, whatever changes occur could even be generational. The problem is these issues wont be readily apparent any time soon. In my view, this vaccine could easily turn into a global catastrophe the likes of which weve never experienced before.

We really should not be quick to dismiss the idea that these vaccines may cause permanent genetic changes, because we now have proof that even conventional vaccines have the ability to do that, and they dont involve the insertion of synthetic RNA.

After the H1N1 swine flu of 2009, the ASO3-adjuvanted swine flu vaccine Pandemrix (a fast-tracked vaccine used in Europe but not in the U.S. during 2009-2010) was causally linked9to childhood narcolepsy, which abruptly skyrocketed in several countries.10,11

Children and teens in Finland,12the U.K.13and Sweden14were among the hardest hit. Further analyses discerned a rise in narcolepsy among adults who received the vaccine as well, although the link wasnt as obvious as that in children and adolescents.15

A 2019 study16reported finding a novel association between Pandemrix-associated narcolepsy and the non-coding RNA gene GDNF-AS1 a gene thought to regulate the production of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor or GDNF, a protein that plays an important role in neuronal survival.

They also confirmed a strong association between vaccine-induced narcolepsy and a certain haplotype, suggesting variation in genes related to immunity and neuronal survival may interact to increase the susceptibility to Pandemrix-induced narcolepsy in certain individuals.

In addition to that, theres the research17showing that the H1N1 swine flu vaccine was one of five inactivated vaccines that increased overall mortality, especially among girls. A swine flu article Iwrote 11 years ago, in 2009, turned out to have a rather prophetic warning at the end:

The swine flu vaccine has not been tested for safety or efficacy, but we DO know it will contain harmful additives. The choice, to me, is obvious. And in the future, anytime a new pandemic appears and officials urge you to rush out and get a shot, please remember this article and ask yourself if its really you who stands to benefit from their advice.

We can also learn from the swine flu fiasco of 1976, detailed in this 1979 60 Minutes episode. Fearing a repeat of the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, the government propaganda machine cranked into action, 60 Minutes says, telling all Americans to get vaccinated.

According to 60 Minutes, 46 million Americans were vaccinated against the swine flu at that time. Over the next few years, thousands of Americans filed vaccine damage claims with the federal government.18As reported by Smithsonian Magazine in 2017:19

In the spring of 1976, it looked like that years flu was the real thing. Spoiler alert: it wasnt, and rushed response led to a medical debacle that hasnt gone away.

Some of the American publics hesitance to embrace vaccines the flu vaccine in particular can be attributed to the long-lasting effects of a failed 1976 campaign to mass-vaccinate the public against a strain of the swine flu virus, writes Rebecca Kreston for Discover.

This government-led campaign was widely viewed as a debacle and put an irreparable dent in future public health initiative, as well as negatively influenced the publics perception of both the flu and the flu shot in this country.

A 1981 report by the U.S. General Accounting Office to Sen. John Durkin, D-N.H., reads, in part:20

Before the swine flu program there were comparatively few vaccine-related claims made against the Government. Since 1963, Public Health Service records showed that only 27 non-swine flu claims were filed.

However, as of December 31, 1979, we found that 3,839 claims and 988 lawsuits had been filed against the Government alleging injury, death, or other damage resulting from the 45 million swine flu immunizations given under the program.

A Justice official told us that as of October 2, 1980, 3,965 claims and 1,384 lawsuits had been filed. Of the 3,965 claims filed, the Justice official said 316 claims had been settled for about $12.3 million

The devastating side effects of the Pandemrix vaccine should be instructive. No one anticipated a flu vaccine to have genetic consequences, yet it did. Now theyre proposing injecting mRNA to make every single cell in your body produce the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.

It seems outright foolish not to assume there will be significant consequences. Perhaps even transhumanistic ones? The 1976 swine flu hoax is equally instructive, in that it demonstrates the long history of mass vaccination campaigns causing far more harm than good.

Will New COVID Vaccine Make You Transhuman? – The Vaccine …

Two years ago, in October 2018, Forbes contributor Neil Sahota, a United Nations artificial intelligence adviser and UC Irvine professor, warned that transhumanism is fast approachinglikely faster than you think.1 In the past few years, there has been considerable discussion around the idea we are slowly merging with our technology, that we are becoming transhuman, with updated abilities, including enhanced intelligence, strength, and awareness, Sahota writes.

The goal of the transhumanist movement, or Human 2.0, is to transcend biology into technology. Or, as Dr. Carrie Madej explains in the video above, to meld human biology with technology and artificial intelligence.

El-Rufai: Clerics can negotiate with bandits — that’s not our job – TheCable

Posted: at 4:47 pm

Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, says his government will not engage with bandits and kidnappers.

There have been a series of attacks on Kaduna communities in the past weeks, particularly institutions of learning.

On Monday, gunmen stormed a UBE primary school at Rama in Birnin-Gwari LGA, kidnapping some teachers.

In the wake of bandits attacks on several northern states, Ahmad Gumi, a prominent Islamic cleric, had called for a peace deal with the gunmen.

Commenting on the issue at an expanded meeting of the state security council on Tuesday, El-Rufai said his job as governor is to enforce the law and help prosecute people who commit offences, and not negotiate with bandits.

We will not engage with bandits or kidnappers. Private citizens like clerics and clergymen can do so in their individual capacities, to preach to them and ask them to repent. We also want them to repent but it is not our job to ask them to do so, he said.

The governor said the best way to solve the farmer-herder clashes, cattle rustling, and banditry is for nomadic herdsmen to live more sedentary lives in order for them to be more productive and give their children education and access to better healthcare.

He noted that transhuman cattle breeding has been rendered obsolete by urbanisation and population growth as most of the cattle routes have been taken over by development.

He said the state government is implementing a ranching project in Damau Grazing Reserve, Kubau LGA.

The governor added that the project will enable the herders to raise their cattle in a facility with pastures, a school, and a primary healthcare centre, with a commercial partner ready to buy their milk.

The expanded security council meeting was attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, professional associations, trade unions, and civil society groups.

KIDNAPPED RESIDENTS RESCUED

In another development, Samuel Aruwan, the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, said some kidnapped victims in Chikun LGA have been rescued.

Troops of Operation Thunder Strike reported that two armed bandits were neutralized at Five-Thirty village in Chikun local government area, he said in a statement.

According to the report, this followed the attempted kidnap of four women from the village by the armed bandits.

The troops responded to a distress call and mobilized swiftly to the area to engage the bandits.

Following a gunfight, the bandits abandoned the captives who were then able to escape.

After the skirmish, the corpses of two bandits were recovered, with the others having escaped with possible gunshot wounds.

He said one soldier sustained an injury from gunshots during the exchange of fire and he is recuperating in the hospital.

Nostradamus expert issues grim predictions including ‘massive’ WW3 – ‘Trembling of earth’ – Daily Express

Posted: at 4:46 pm

Astrologers reading his work claim the French prophet may have been considered coronavirus pandemic as the beginning of a series of misfortunes for humanity, including widespread famine. But there is more danger ahead - including World War 3, a third antichrist and an extinction level catastrophe, expert Bobby Shailer has said. Full name Michel de Nostredame, the 16th century astrologer is the subject of a new documentary series from Discovery+. It delves into visions from the seer, who some believe predicted the Great Fire of London and the 2001 9/11 attacks.

Mr Shailer, British Nostradamus expert, appears in the new series and has shared more predictions from the astrologer.

According to the expert, Nostradamus has predicted Britain will be hit by a devastating flood in the years to come.

Mr Shailer said the astrologer talks of The trembling of the earth at the tin island of St George, war will arrive and Great Britain will come to be flooded, the new league of Ausonia will make war.

Ausonia is a small town in Italy which Nostradamus believes will invade Britain.

Nostradamus also predicted the third Antichrist, a term which he used to describe genocidal leaders, is probably alive today.

Mr Shailer told The Sun Online of the astrologers predictions for the next warmonger.

He said: An antichrist by Nostradamuss definition are war mongers who are responsible for the death of innocent people, such as Hitler or Napoleon.

I think the third antichrist is coming up soon, possibly in the next ten to 20 years. I would think hes probably alive today.

However, while Nostradamus is well-known for his bleak apocalyptic predictions, the French seer predicted the Earth is not doomed for another 1,772 years.

Mr Shailer said: Nostradamus does talk about something he calls the final conflagration, fire from the heavens, extinction level events, two or three, which would probably happen close to 3797, but he does mention several conflagrations before that.

Following a predicted Third World War and other disasters, the expert on Nostradamus suggested there will be a thousand years of peace.

He added: At the end of the world war, there will be an age of Saturn, which will be a thousand years of peace.

The French astrologer has been suggested by online theorists to have predicted the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Brian Dunning, host of the Skeptoid podcast, debunked Nostradamus' prophecies on his show.

He said: Nostradamus' writings are exploited in a number of fallacious ways.

Ambiguous and wrong translations, creative interpretations, hoax writings, fictional accounts, and the breaking of non-existent codes within his quatrains all contribute to a vast body of work, all of it wrong, and many times the size of everything Nostradamus ever actually wrote.
