A nuclear bomb strikes an American city, sending a huge fiery mushroom cloud soaring into the sky in a chilling World War 3 simulation aired in North Korea.

The worrying propaganda video was released as tensions continued to rise between Kim Jong-un's secretive country and the US.

The despot used the 'Day of the Sun' festival - marking the birthday of his late grandfather and tha nation's founder, Kim Il-Sung, to show off the strength of the North Korean army.

The disturbing footage shows a rocket, believed to be an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), wiping out an unspecified American city.

The sickening video - performance of the Korean State Merited Chorus - also shows the American Stars and Stripes in flames overlapped with an image of a cemetery.

The choir unveiled a new song about the country's missiles which include the words "our proud Hwasong rocket blasts off" and "it flies as quickly as a flash of lightning to challenge imperialism".

North Korea attempted but failed to launch a missile on Sunday, the day after the military parade where what appeared to be new ballistic missiles were displayed.

"The North attempted to launch an unidentified missile from near the Sinpo region this morning but it is suspected to have failed," the South's Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement.

The US also confirmed the missile test.

Kim Jong-un released a similar propaganda video earlier this year.

Grainy footage sees a submarine launch the killer missile from the ocean before a fireball slams into Washington sending a mushroom cloud into the sky.

A message on the screen in Korean translates as: If US imperialists move an inch toward us, we will immediately hit them with nukes.

A digitally altered missile is then launched and soars through the sky before hitting the US capital, with the US flag bursting into flames.

We've been warned that World War 3 will break out soon after a mystic who accurately foretold Donald Trump's presidency predicted the exact date a nuclear war will begin.

Self-proclaimed 'messenger of God' Horacio Villegas believes WW3 will break out on the 100th anniversary of the visitation of Our Lady of Fatima, which is said to have taken place on May 13, 1917.

Chillingly, Villegas predicted that Trump's huge air strike on a Syrian airbase would bring Russia, North Korea and China into the deadly global conflict - something which could be JUST weeks away.

And in traditional fashion, Scots have taken to social media to snub the clairvoyant's claims.

Others, however, didn't seem bothered at all about a possible world war breaking out.

Villegas is convinced war will break out on the 100th anniversary of the visitation - in less than four weeks' time.

The last visitation is said to have occurred later that year, on October 13, 1917, where she is believed to have announced: "The war is going to end, and the soldiers will soon return to their homes."

The mystic believes World War 3 will end on the 100th anniversary of that date.

Villegas told the Daily Star : The main message that people need to know in order be prepared is that between May 13th and October 13 2017, this war will occur and be over with much devastation, shock and death.

However, he warned that so-called false flag events will take place between April 13 and May 13 where attacks are carried out under incorrect information, including in Syria and North Korea.

The exercise was carried out under battlefield conditions as the threat of Russia being dragged into a war looms.

A Defence Ministry spokesman said: "Units of air defence missile and radio-technical forces made a march to their deployment positions and were put on combat alert.

"During the redeployment, the personnel practiced thwarting sabotage and reconnaissance groups."
