After being confined for such a long time there is nothing that calls more than sandy shores, azure water and the prospect of chasing fish on the flats. Although many of us are restricted in travelling to the Seychelles currently, for those able to travel there are still rods available on Alphonse, Farquhar and Providence atolls. Its not too late to get in some 2021 flats time and spend time out on the water.

Farquhar Atoll is one of the top destinations in the world for hunting giant trevally on the flats. It is a saltwater paradise for the serious flats angler who is also looking for a unique variety of species.Anglers are constantly on the lookout for the next big saltwater destination for several reasons; little or no fishing pressure, untouched flats, uneducated fish and adventure.

These atolls have left countless anglers who fished the 2020/2021 season with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime, from monstrousgiant trevallymeasuring over 100 cm to incredible bonefishing sessions. Although an unusual season to say the least, late 2020 and spring 2021 on Alphonse had some lucky anglers able to travel and spend time out on the flats. We wanted to share with you some of that in the table below of fishing highlights, personal bests, and first time catches.

Astove Atollhas come to the forefront of the Indian Ocean operations as the home of large GTs. Astove in the past has only been fished for a day or two by motherships fishing Cosmoledo and so has had very little pressure. Since then the original plantation house has been refurbished offering the unique opportunity to exclusively fish an outer atoll in comfort from a land based operation for only six rods. Leisure guests can relax and enjoy Astoves snorkelling or make use of the kayaks and paddle boards on the island.
