Fijis top women sprinter Sisilia Seavula believes Team Fiji are focused on doing their country proud at the 2017 Oceania Championship which starts at the ANZ Stadium, Suva next Wednesday.

Athletics Fiji conducted another round of competition at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday as part of their final preparation for the games. The Nanoko, Ba native who is currently based in the United States was impressed with the preparation level of the high school athletes.

Team Fijis preparation is going on really well, Ive seen so much improvement from the performances of the high school students that came out from the Coke Games. Theyve been stepping up their game during the competition. Seeing them train really hard gives me the confidence that they will do well.

Seavula however, pointed out that competition will be tough.

Everyone will come out really strong and were going to leave everything to the Lord. For us sprint athletes were working on our reactions from the blocks. Our coaches have been working hard with us during our block sessions and speed workouts, she added.
