France Football has published the full results of the Ballon d'Or vote. In 2021, Lionel Messi won the award for the seventh time, which angered many fans. It was expected that the prize would go to Robert Lewandowski.

The Golden Ball winner was determined by journalists from all over the world Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski managed to become the best on only two continents.

Lewandowski received first place from European journalists with 209 points. The second place in Europe was given to Chelsea midfielder Jorginho (166), and the third Messi (161).

Apart from Europe, only journalists from Africa put Lewandowski in first place.

The Argentinean won the Ballon d'Or thanks to being the first to be voted on by journalists from South America, Asia, Oceania and CONCACAF countries.
