Posted: August 15, 2017 at 12:37 pm

The La Cuisine Bourgeoise menu is served on Oceania's two larger ships, the Marina and Riviera, in an intimate dining venue called La Reserve by Wine Spectator.

The menu, priced at $112 per person including gratuity, was created by Oceania executive culinary director Jacques Pepin as a tribute to the Hotel Plaza Athenee and other legendary Parisian dining venues of the mid-20th century.

Starting with a Kir Royal, the dinner offers lobster and cheese souffle, a filet de sole or filet de boeuf, soup, cheeses, pink praline cream puffs and baked Alaska for dessert.

"This is an experience you can't have anywhere else and one that will create memories for a lifetime," said Oceania president Bob Binder. "It is the epitome of special."

Seating for the dinner will be limited to 24 guests. Reservations are required.

Seven Hills teenager Christian Boris is a stock sport champion after blitzing the field at the Australian Icestock Sport Association Oceania Target Junior Championship.

Stock sport, which can be done in winter on ice and in summer on asphalt, has similarities to lawn bowls and curling.

Target shooting requires players to get their stock ascloseto a target, called a daube, as possible.

Its been a quick rise for Christian, 16, after only taking up the sport in September 2015.

I found it through a friend of a friend Barry [Blacktown Workers Stock Sport club captain and president ODonnell], he said. I watched a tournament, did a few shots and I really liked it. I didnt think Id be a national champion in just under two years.

Christianscored 140 points and won by 25 points to claim the title.

Last year, he finished fourth in the junior target competition but put in extra training to get to the top of the podium.

Next for Christian will be the Junior Distance Championships, which will be held at Kareela Reserve in Doonside on the 23-24 of September.

Heis also part of the first Australian junior target team who will contest the World Championships in Austrianext February.

It will be great to meet people from around the world and testing my skills and getting used to the ice, he said.

ODonnell said Christian had worked hard for his result after participating inextra training sessions.

A veteran player in Australia, ODonnell has tasted international tournaments including three previous World Championships and said there are high hopes for growth in the sport.

There is a push to try and make it part of the Winter Olympics so weve had to adopt the regions, he said. Australia is the only country that really does it in Oceania at the moment.

Bernadette Hartman also finished third in the womens target competition after playing for just over a year.

Oceania the perfect suite for coastal living – The West Australian

Posted: August 14, 2017 at 12:37 pm

Living up to its namesake, The Oceania display is all about seaside living, with its free-flowing layout and coastal influences.

Open, light-filled spaces set the scene and bring the outdoors in, with the central alfresco a real talking point.

Express Two Storey Living is the company behind the latest four-bedroom, two-bathroom display, choosing the Ocean Road estate in Coogee to showcase the homes many offerings.

The seaside location works to display the homes suitability for a location with views, according to Express Two Storey Living General Manager Piran Holloway.

The living areas interact well with the surroundings, while the northern light creates a warm open-plan living area, he said. The area is elevated above parkland and provides both privacy and magnificent views of the green trees.

There are also 180-degree views from the upper and lower-floor living areas.

The contemporary home is great for entertaining all season round, with a central alfresco that gives it a unique edge.

The kitchen is perfectly positioned at the centre of the home with massive stone benchtops and storage, Mr Holloway said. It faces the side alfresco, which overlooks the parkland views to the north.

Its an amazing place on a sunny winters day, as its teeming with northern sunlight.

The home packs plenty into its narrow-lot design, suiting a 12.5m lot width.

Yet its well equipped for families, with an impressive 292.87sqm of living space thanks to the two-storey floor plan, while its rear-loader design makes space for a double garage.

Its a great rear-garage design that maximises a small lot, Mr Holloway said.

The separation between the master retreat and the remaining bedrooms ensures the home is suited to families, with a whole floor separating the two areas.

The master bedroom is tucked away at the front of the home on the ground floor, with a luxurious sweep of features including spacious sleeping quarters and a walk-through robe that leads to the ensuite.

A front media room sits adjacent to the master bedroom, which could easily be used as a parents retreat.

Meanwhile, the upstairs bedrooms feature spacious interiors, with two of the bedrooms offering built-in robes and the other a walk-in robe.

The home is ideal for families with older children, Mr Holloway said.

The upstairs is completed by a central activity area for the kids to enjoy, which provides them with privacy away from the central living areas downstairs.

The activity area also has a front and side balcony for ocean views, Mr Holloway said.

The exterior matches the same level of luxury that is on display inside, with superb craftsmanship and design to create an eye-catching facade.

The stars of the front facade are the balconies and the feature stone work, Mr Holloway said.

ANDY JACKSON/STUFF

Figure skating student Niamh Quinn, 15, and her coach Michelle O'Doherty are both off to represent New Zealand at the Oceania champs in Brisbane next month.

A coach and student will be cheering each other on from the rinkside when they both compete in the Oceania figure skating champs in September.

New Plymouth student Niamh Quinn, 15, and her coach Michelle O'Doherty, 35, are both headed to Brisbane next month to represent New Zealand in the sport.

It will be first time Quinn has competed in the international competition but O'Doherty competed there when she was 16.

ANDY JACKSON/STUFF

Quinn began skating six years ago when she stopped taking dance classes.

She then put her competing on hold while she had children, before making a comebackandwinning silver last year.

O'Dohertyonlygot back into the sport when she saw Quinn in a learn-to-skate class six years ago and realised her potential, and decided to coach her.

ANDY JACKSON/STUFF

Quinn won third in the cadet solo dancer category at the New Zealand nationals while O'Doherty won gold in the advanced masters division.

"I actually spotted Niamh skating because I used to do roller derby, so I spotted Niamh and asked her who was coaching her and then that year we won the national title for her grade," O'Doherty said.

"I had four months to get her ready for nationals."

Quinnand O'Doherty both competed at the New Zealand nationals in July, with Quinncoming third in the cadet solo dancer category while O'Doherty won gold in the advanced masters division.

Unlike some of the other categories, Quinnsaid her dance was fairly structured.

"You get given a pattern and music and then if you don't follow the pattern or if you're out of time to the music then you get, like, points down and then there's all the technical things," she said.

She said it was hard to explain why she loved the sport so much.

"Sometimes I wake up and I'm like I don't want to do that I'd rather do another thing.

"But then when I can't skate, I get really...I don't know, I get really sad when I can't skate."

Quinn's mumMerrynQuinnsaid her daughterhad been taking dance lessons but stopped when the student nurse who was taking them had to move on.

After seeing an advertisement in the school notices for skating lessons, she took her along to try it out and said her daughter has never looked back.

"It's a sport, hard work and training and all those things, but it also involved performance and dance and creativity and then for the girls, make-up and the costumes,"she said.

"It is quite a hard sport because you train all year and then you go off to nationals and you have two to three minutes on the floor to do your thing."

Who Really Owns Oceania Healthcare Limited (NZSE:OCA)? – Simply Wall St

Posted: at 12:37 pm

I am going to take a deep dive into Oceania Healthcare Limiteds (NZSE:OCA) most recent ownership structure, not a frequent subject of discussion among individual investors. When it comes to ownership structure of a company, the impact has been observed in both the long-and short-term performance of shares. Differences in ownership structure of companies can have a profound effect on how managements incentives are aligned with shareholder returns, and whether they adhere to corporate governance best practices. Although this is an important factor for long-term investors, many investors can also be impacted by institutional presence and their high-volume trading. Therefore, it is beneficial for us to examine OCAs ownership structure in more detail.

See our latest analysis for OCA

NZSE:OCA Ownership_summary Aug 14th 17

Institutional investors typically buy and sell shares in large magnitudes which can significantly sway the share price, especially when there are relatively small amounts of shares available on the market to trade. A low institutional ownership of 5.57% puts OCA on a list of companies that are not likely exposed to spikes in volatility resulting from institutional trading.

Another important group of shareholders are company insiders. Insider ownership has to do more with how the company is managed and less to do with the direct impact of the magnitude of shares trading on the market. Although individuals in OCA hold only a 1.63% stake, its a good sign for shareholders as the companys executives and directors have their incentives directly linked to the companys performance. It would also be interesting to check what insiders have been doing with their shareholding recently. Insider buying can be a positive indicator of future performance, but a selling decision can be simply driven by personal financial requirements.

NZSE:OCA Insider_trading Aug 14th 17

The general public holds a substantial 35.59% stake in OCA, making it a highly popular stock among retail investors. This size of ownership gives retail investors collective power in deciding on major policy decisions such as executive compensation, appointment of directors and acquisitions of businesses. Such level of ownership gives retail investors the power to sway key policy decisions such as board composition, executive compensation, and potential acquisitions. This is a positive sign for an investor who wants to be involved in key decision-making of the company.

Another important group of owners for potential investors in OCA are private companies that hold a stake of 57.22% in OCA. These are companies that are mainly invested due to their strategic interests or are incentivized by reaping capital gains on investments their shareholdings. This kind of ownership, if predominantly strategic, can give these companies a significant power to affect OCAs business strategy. Thus, potential investors should look into these business relations and check how it can impact long-term shareholder returns.

With a low level of institutional ownership, investors in OCA need not worry about non-fundamental factors such as ownership structure causing large impact on stock prices. Institutional ownership level and composition in OCA is not high nor active enough to significantly impact its investment thesis. However, other important factors we must never forget to assess are the fundamentals. I recommend you take a look at our latest free analysis report on Oceania Healthcare to see OCAs fundamentals and whether it could be considered an undervalued opportunity.

Oceania Cruises unveiled an elegant seven-course affair, La Cuisine Bourgeoise, by Jacques Ppin. This new epicurean experience features many classic dishes that the master chef has enjoyed over the years.

'Cuisine bourgeoise is rooted in tradition and is one that shaped my childhood. It is a cuisine to savor rather than admire or evaluate. It is simply happiness on a plate, and I am thrilled to share this with our guests,' said Ppin, executive culinary director for Oceania Cruises.

The meal is expertly paired from start to finish with wines that complement and echo the history of the dishes, while providing diners with a hint of the flavors, complexity and nuances that one might have experienced during the mid-20th century.

'Pairing the wines took particular care and required extensive research to ensure that the wines featured with each course reflected the bright, approachable and celebratory nature of this dining experience,' said Bob Binder, president and ceo, Oceania Cruises.

Each course is served with dramatic flair from gleaming silver trays in the best traditions of the century.

'Imagine being transported back to the halcyon days of the Htel Plaza Athenee in Paris, enjoying a celebratory meal with great friends. This is an experience you cant have anywhere else and one that will create memories for a lifetime. It is the epitome of special,' Binder said.

New traffic features will make daily trips safer for kids at a Bayside public school – QNS.com

Posted: August 10, 2017 at 6:34 am

When students return to school at M.S. 74 in Baysidethis September, they will be greeted with brand-new safety features along Oceania Street and 210th Street that will make their trips to and from school safer for everyone.

For years, staff at M.S. 74 raised concerns over traffic safety in front of and near the middle school where drivers were known to speed, make illegal U-turns, drive on the painted median, double and sometimes triple park, and get into accidents. These conditions often pose threats to the safety of students, parents, pedestrians, and drivers around that area.

In order to remedy the dangerous situation, Councilman Barry Grodenchik wrote a letter to the citys Department of Transportation (DOT), which came out to survey the conditions. Once the agencys survey was completed, DOT proposed the new safety features aimed at calming traffic, protecting students during drop-off and pick-up times at M.S. 74, and keeping cyclists safe who bike along Oceania Street.

The safety features DOT proposed include a two-way protected bicycle lane along Oceania Street and 210thStreet; buffered bicycle lanes on Oceania Street over the Long Island Expressway; increased space for drop-off and pick-up in front of M.S. 74; a one-way conversion of a small portion of 210thStreet where it meets Oceania Street; new crosswalks and a painted curb extension on 210thStreet; a high visibility crosswalk on 210thStreet at 64thAvenue; and a speed bump on 210thStreet south of 64thAvenue.

This is a perfect example of how the school, the park, [and] the community in general have really come together for a really tangible safety benefit, said Albert Silvestri, DOT deputy Queens commissioner.

To create the two-way protected bike lane, DOT simply shifted the parking out a few feet which will not only protect cyclists from traffic, but also slow down cars on a roadway known for speeding vehicles and cut back on aggressive U-turning in front of the school, Silverstri explained.

This really helps improve the quality of life here in the neighborhood and will literally go to save lives, said Congresswoman Grace Meng. In Congress weve co-founded a bipartisan kids safety caucus, so as someone whos part of the caucus, and as a parent of two young kids, Im really thankful to the city for making this happen.

Community Board 11 unanimously approved the plan back in March. Since then, DOT has begun work at the location and plans to have all the safety measures complete before the start of the new school year.

Oceania Capital Partners Ltd (OCP.AX) Chaikin Money Flow in Positive Territory – Rockville Register

Posted: at 6:34 am

Oceania Capital Partners Ltd (OCP.AX) is seeing positive money flow as the Chalkin (CMF) indicator is holding above the zero line. The Chaikin Money Flow Indicator is an oscillator developed by Marc Chaikin. An oscillator is an indicator that is used as a counter trend showing when the market is overbought or oversold. The CMF is based largely on the Accumulation Distribution Line; it compares the close value with the high and the low for that same day.

A buy signal occurs when the CMF value crosses from below the 0 line to above the 0 line. A sell signal occurs when the CMF value crosses from above the 0 line to below the 0 line.

Turning to some additional technicals, at the time of writing, the 14-day ADX for Oceania Capital Partners Ltd (OCP.AX) is 33.59. Many technical chart analysts believe that an ADX value over 25 would suggest a strong trend. A reading under 20 would indicate no trend, and a reading from 20-25 would suggest that there is no clear trend signal. The ADX is typically plotted along with two other directional movement indicator lines, the Plus Directional Indicator (+DI) and Minus Directional Indicator (-DI). Some analysts believe that the ADX is one of the best trend strength indicators available.

Investors may be trying to define which trends will prevail in the second half of the year. As the markets continue to chug along, investors may be trying to maximize gains and become better positioned for success. Technical analysts may be studying different historical price and volume data in order to help uncover where the momentum is headed. Coming up with a solid strategy may take some time, but it might be well worth it in the long run. As we move deeper into the year, investors will be closely tracking the next few earnings periods. They may be trying to project which companies will post positive surprises.

Some investors may find the Williams Percent Range or Williams %R as a helpful technical indicator. Presently, Oceania Capital Partners Ltd (OCP.AX)s Williams Percent Range or 14 day Williams %R is resting at -10.34. Values can range from 0 to -100. A reading between -80 to -100 may be typically viewed as strong oversold territory. A value between 0 to -20 would represent a strong overbought condition. As a momentum indicator, the Williams R% may be used with other technicals to help define a specific trend.

When performing stock analysis, investors and traders may opt to view technical levels. Oceania Capital Partners Ltd (OCP.AX) presently has a 14-day Commodity Channel Index (CCI) of 66.51. Investors and traders may use this indicator to help spot price reversals, price extremes, and the strength of a trend. Many investors will use the CCI in conjunction with other indicators when evaluating a trade. The CCI may be used to spot if a stock is entering overbought (+100) and oversold (-100) territory.

Checking in on moving averages, the 200-day is at 1.94, the 50-day is 2.30, and the 7-day is sitting at 2.54. Moving averages may be used by investors and traders to shed some light on trading patterns for a specific stock. Moving averages can be used to help smooth information in order to provide a clearer picture of what is going on with the stock. Technical stock analysts may use a combination of different time periods in order to figure out the history of the equity and where it may be headed in the future. MAs can be calculated for any time period, but two very popular time frames are the 50-day and 200-day moving averages.

Shifting gears to the Relative Strength Index, the 14-day RSI is currently sitting at 63.89, the 7-day is 64.53, and the 3-day is currently at 69.38 for Oceania Capital Partners Ltd (OCP.AX). The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a highly popular momentum indicator used for technical analysis. The RSI can help display whether the bulls or the bears are currently strongest in the market. The RSI may be used to help spot points of reversals more accurately. The RSI was developed by J. Welles Wilder. As a general rule, an RSI reading over 70 would signal overbought conditions. A reading under 30 would indicate oversold conditions. As always, the values may need to be adjusted based on the specific stock and market. RSI can also be a valuable tool for trying to spot larger market turns.
