The Evolution Of Ronald McDonald Through The Years – Daily Meal

Posted: at 1:28 am

Ronald has been played by a huge list of actors over the years. While the company does not like to acknowledge that Ronald isn't real or that he is portrayed by actors ("There's only one Ronald," an executive told Associated Press), each actor oversaw significant milestones in Ronald's character. In his early days, many of the actors who portrayed him were experienced performers or magicians who had previously portrayed TV clowns like Bozo.

After WillardScott originated the character, the role was taken over by a number of actors, starting with Bev Bergeron, who introduced Ronald to a national audience. Ray Rayner, George Voorhis, Michael Polakovs, and Bob Brandon all took up the clown suit throughout the late '60s and '70s. Throughout the '80s and '90s, Ronald was played by BobBrandon, Squire Fridell, Jack Doepke, and King Moody, who holds the record for the longest run as Ronald, at 16 years from 1969 to 1985. David Hussey comes in second, with 14 years under his belt from 2000 to 2014. Currently, Ronald is played by Brad Lennon, who took up the role in 2014.

Spectrum Medical boasts 75 years of excellence, evolution – Martinsville Bulletin

Healthcare has changed dramatically in the past 75 years. Yet Danville-based Spectrum Medicals place as a mainstay in helping to treat patients in the Dan River Region has remained constant.

In spite of the need to grow and expand services, we have strived to maintain a welcoming and community-sensitive style of practice with pleasant and reliable staff andqualityproviders in a generally underserved area, said Dr. Mark Hermann, senior physician partner who has been with the practice since 1990.

Originally known as the Danville Orthopedic Clinic, Spectrum Medical was started by Dr. Prentice Kinser as a solo surgical practice in 1948. In the late 1960s, Dr. Kinser began taking on partners as the practice continued to hone its reputation for excellence as one of the most well-rounded venues for orthopedic surgery in Southside Virginia.

The practicehas evolved as the nature of treatment has. Spectrum Medical has expanded its services to include rheumatology, physical therapy, pain management, spine, family medicine and clinical research. In the new millennium, Spectrum moved its Danville offices to a state-of-the-art location on Bridge Street in the River District. They also opened a satellite clinic in Martinsville.

Our practice has continued to be successful by putting our patients first, said CressGillie, Spectrums Director of Human Resources and Marketing. Exemplifying the highest standards of customer service as well as best medical practices and a presence in our community, we hope these values will continue to serve patients well into the future.

Spectrum Medicals origins are rooted in orthopedic surgery, and with the opening of the new facility in 2017, the practice realized its goal of creating a combined progressive and convenient model of musculoskeletal care by bringing most of its clinical operations under a single roof.

Treatment options extend beyond the surgical arena with Spectrum. The roster of providers on staff, for instance, includes a rheumatologist to help in the treatment of arthritis and other diseases of the joints, and pain management specialists to help with the treatment of chronic pain.

Spectrum also boasts a physical therapy clinic with licensed physical therapists, licensed physical therapy assistants and certified athletic trainers, who create individualized recovery programs using the latest rehab equipment, modalities and manual therapy techniques.

Spectrums physical therapy options are expansive. Pelvic floor treatments beneficial to a wide range of patients including mothers who have recently given birth are a specific area of focus.

The expansive services speak to Spectrums goal of creating a quality, convenient patient experience.

We offer same-day X-rays specifically for orthopedic needs and often have shorter wait times when referred to our specialists, compared to other practices, Dr. Hermann said. We continue to welcome most all forms of insurance and payers and have served our region and hospital throughout our tenure.Wecontinueto seek high-quality providers to joinourpractice and community.

Intel reveals AVX10 instruction set, an evolution of AVX512 with … – VideoCardz.com

Posted: at 1:28 am

It is stated that the first Intel product with initial support for new instructions will be the next-gen Xeon codenamed Granite Rapids.

In the Introducing Intel Advanced Performance Extensions (Intel APX) article on the developer portal, Intel provides four documents in the footnotes. These documents vary in length, ranging from a concise seven pages to a more extensive 1,310 pages. It is a large data set that ultimately explains how Intel is planning to retain AVX512 instructions with necessary enhancements for its future products.

The company Advanced Performance Extensions (APX), which increases the general-purpose register count from 16 to 32. According to Intels explanation, code compiled with APX experiences 10% fewer loads and 20% fewer stores compared to the Intel 64 baseline. This means that APX code not only executes faster but also consumes less dynamic power, making it an interesting option for performance-conscious developers.

One of the key advantages of APX is that software recompiled with these extensions requires no significant changes to the code. This makes optimizations for the new extensions as simple as recompiling the software, ensuring a seamless upgrade process for developers and enabling them to take advantage of the benefits of APX with minimal effort.

With the introduction of Granite Rapids, the transition to the new instructions will not occur all at once. Instead, the older instructions will be retained through legacy support under AVX10.1 ISA.

Intel has set a goal for implementing advanced instructions for its Efficient cores as well. This is particularly important because the company plans to introduce its E-Core only Sierra Forest series next year. However, these instructions are expected to drop later, possibly when the Sierras successor, Clearwater Forest architecture is released.

The company has confirmed that the development of AVX10 ISA will optimally support both the Client and Server products. Intels hybrid architecture of P and E-cores already spans across from Core to Xeon. A new instruction set that can expand support for modern instructions would definitely simplify the development of software for these platforms.

X-Men Gives an Original Team Member the Ultimate Dark Evolution – Screen Rant

Posted: at 1:27 am

Warning: SPOILERS for X-Force #42!Throughout their uncanny publication history, the Marvel Comics heroes known as the X-Men have seen their fair share of dark timelines and more than their fair share of corrupted team members. From the Dark Phoenix to Archangel, the House of Ideas Merry Mutants have watched countless teammates and friends give in to their dark sides through alternate timelines, mind control, or simple character evolution. But a new version of one of the founding X-Men is the darkest evolution of all.

X-Force #40-42 by Benjamin Percy, Paul Davidson, Robert Gill, and GURU-eFX finds the titular team roped by their former teammate Quentin Quire into traveling into Marvel's future to topple the dark machinations of Hank McCoy aka the Beast. As the team work backwards from the far future to the present, fans see how Beast will evolve as thousands of years pass - becoming first a deadly mutant/Sentinel hybrid, then a living moon who controls an army of plant-based clones, and finally 'the God of All Mutants' in a post-apocalyptic future. Fans have seen X-Men fall before, but never so far.

Over the course of the Krakoan Age, fans have watched the formerly Bouncing Beast spiraling down a dark path that has made him one of the X-Mens greatest villains. Tasked with safeguarding the mutant nation of Krakoa, Beast gradually shed any sense of heroism, convinced of his righteousness and unique genius. Now, its clear this path will ultimately lead him to merge with the most dangerous threat the X-Men have ever faced - the unbeatable Nimrod Sentinel. However, Hank won't even stop there. For most of X-Force, Beast has argued that his amoral tactics are all in mutantkind's best interests, however his sick evolution proves this is a lie. The Beast has become addicted to power, and will continue to twist his own mind and form (not to mention the world) for the rest of time if given the chance.

The X-Men are no strangers to evil teammates, but usually when one of the mutant heroes falls, there's some mitigating element - Cyclops became a 'villain' to literally keep mutantkind from immediate extinction, Angel was brainwashed to serve a mission handed down by the Celestials, and Jean Grey was possessed by the cosmic Phoenix Force. While they crossed lines in these transformations, they did so either against their will or while retaining shreds of their former heroism. The same can't be said for Beast, who has used the general mandate of Krakoan security to bring the entire world under his rule. It's the most damning transformation any of the original X-Men have undergone because it all comes from Beast's true self, unforced and emerging from his ego and lack of moral restraint.

It will be incredibly hard for Marvel to redeem Beast after this, since fans have now seen that - left to his own devices - Hank McCoy will become as bad as any X-Men villain, simply because that's his true nature when given the excuse. X-Force has permanently changed how fans see one of the X-Men's most hopeful and compassionate heroes, revealing that in his dark heart, Hank McCoy doesn't just have villain potential, but the inclination to warp himself again and again into a monster beyond imagining.

X-Force #42 is on sale now from Marvel Comics.
