Rhetoric of Racism- Reaction to Rue #39;s death
Rough draft of video for WSU #39;s Rhetoric of Racism Script rough draft Narrator- This year the movie, Hunger Games, pulled in $152535747 in its first weekend in the US, and made grossed $672826249 world wide. But not everyone loved it. In fact there was mass outrage on twitter after the release of the move. Twitter Clips- Voice over of clips by multiple different voices Narrator- Why do we as a generation believe that it #39;s okay to put this on the internet? These twitter users now have a permanent record of their racism, but have seen no punishment, even if just by social pressures. Multiple groups have covered this outburst or racism among Generation C, from online commentary to national news agencies, but no solution has been thought of. How about this? The internet is a new open forum that anyone can participate in, and as the first Generation to live almost completely through the interactions of the internet- we define it #39;s culture. We can stomp out racism on the internet. Free speech is important, but equality for all races is even more so. Think before you type- who knows who #39;s reading your post, and who is immortalizing it with a screen capture. You can #39;t take it back... Rue #39;s death clip Narrator- How does that not make you the least bit sad?! How can you not look past the color of her skin to see the death of a little girl in a brutal way?
