RI restaurant Blackstone to open in Worcester from breakfast to late-night – MassLive.com

A new restaurant preparing to open in Worcesters Canal District will host guests at every time of the day, from breakfast and lunch to dinner and cocktails to late-night drinks and dancing.

Blackstone Herbs and Martini Bar, which is expected to open in December at 102 Green St., is the second location of the Coventry, R.I.-based restaurant. Gian Ranucci, who owns the upscale gastropub with his wife Bryanna, explained that Blackstone specializes in food and drink flights.

Weve traveled all across the country and weve been to so many restaurants. Weve always had a hard time deciding what to get, Ranucci said. We always wanted everything on the menu so we decided to come up with an idea to be able to get small portions of multiple different options. And thats kind of the key to why everyone loves the the idea of it, because you dont have to commit to one big plate of beef nachos. You get three different kinds of nachos or fries or burgers or sliders, or whatever it may be.

The menu at the Coventry restaurant, which has been open for a year, includes a wide variety of flights. For breakfast, there are latte flights, matcha flights and mimosa flights; at night, you can try a trio of margaritas, mojitos or even flavored espresso martinis.

The options arent limited to drinks. The dinner menu, which also offers vegan options, includes flights of egg rolls, tacos, nachos, sliders, wings and french fries. If you dont want a flight, though, they also serve sandwiches and have a breakfast menu that includes breakfast sandwiches and pastries.

Another unique feature of Blackstone involves the Ranuccis other business, Dream Catcher Hemp Farm in Dudley. The farm grows hemp to produce CBD oil, which they use in handmade products including tinctures, gummies, CBD flower for smoking, chocolates and chocolate-covered espresso beans and beauty and wellness products.

In addition, customers who enjoy the calming effects of CBD can choose to have it added to their food and drinks.

We have a lot of regulars that come in every day and they get their morning latte with 30 milligrams of CBD, Ranucci said. It definitely helps a lot of people.

Ranucci said since the couple lives in Massachusetts, the up-and-coming city of Worcester seemed like the perfect place to expand their restaurant business.

A lot of restaurants in Rhode Island stick to kind of just expanding in Rhode Island, which we never understood, he said. Were looking to go to every every major city in the U.S. ... Were gonna keep expanding.

Blackstone will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m., serving breakfast and lunch during the day and beginning dinner and drinks at 5 p.m. At 10 p.m., they will have DJ sets and change to more of a nightclub atmosphere.

The restaurant is expected to open in December.
