Gambling software development company Playtech announced Wednesday it has launched in Ontario through its existing partnership with NorthStar Bets, which will see Playtech's IMS platform, casino and live casino technology offered to bettors in the Canadian province.

Playtech and NorthStar Bets strategic partnership was announced earlier this year, in a deal under which the former agreed to supply software services to the latter. With the addition of Poker content later in 2022, Playtech will be providing NorthStar Bets with its full technology stack of products "to deliver one of Ontario's premier online casino and sports betting experiences," according to a press release.

NorthStar Bets is an Ontario-based brand that aims to provide players with "a uniquely local, premier user experience on their casino and sportsbook gaming platform." It belongs to NorthStar Gaming, which last month also announced the advertising creative for the product, under a launch campaign, titled "That's A Win."

Shimon Akad, chief operating officer at Playtech, spoke about this launch and said: The launch of Playtechs new software and service partnership with NorthStar bets is another key milestone in the development of our strategy in North America. Essential to Playtechs success is our ability to form key strategic partnerships with industry-leading operators around the world. NorthStar Bets is uniquely positioned to become one of Ontarios premier operators, and we are delighted to be working alongside them to build a market-leading responsible gambling proposition."

The partnership was announced several months before Ontario opened its regulated online gambling market on April 4, which was the culmination of three years of work, following the announcement that the province was ending the lotterys legal monopoly on online gambling in 2019.

Playtech launched with multiple partnerships in Ontarioon day onewith RNG Casino and Live, swiftly followed by the full platform.

The Sacramento Kings were awarded the #4 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the teams has been aggressive with shopping the fourth-overall pick for a player like Jerami Grant from the Detroit Pistons, or they could trade down in the draft to teams looking to move into the top five.

The Kings are looking to end the longest current playoff drought in the NBA since they last made the playoffs in 2006. In early May, the Kings hired Mike Brown to become their next head coach hoping that the Golden State Warriors assistant coach can help lead them to their first playoff berth in 17 seasons.

The Kings finished last season 30-52, but they werent close to being the worst team in the Western Conference. The Houston Rockets won just 20 games, while the Oklahoma City Thunder won 24 games, and the Portland Trail Blazers won 27 games.

The Kings are a long shot to win the 2023 NBA championship at +80000 odds. Only the Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, and Oklahoma City Thunder have worse odds as a moon shot.

Prior to the trade deadline, the Kings were able to acquire All-Star Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers along with Justin Holiday and Jeremy Lamb in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, and Tristan Thompson. The Kings held on to DeAaron Fox and want to rebuild a team around Sabonis and Fox.

The Kings struggle to attract A-list free agents to Cow Town, so they had to get creative and acquire a talented player like Sabonis through a trade. Will they make another bold trade to add a veteran before the upcoming NBA Draft? The Kings are exploring all possibilities, which makes it a little bit easier with the rights to the #4 pick.

The Kings could draft someone from the Big Ten. Jaden Ivey, Purdues leading scorer, is the betting favorite at -330 odds to get drafted with the #4 pick if the Kings hold on to it. Keegan Murray from Iowa is also a popular picks at +500 odds to get selected fourth. Kentucky prospect Shaedon Sharpe is +250 odds to go fourth. If another team wants to take a flier on Sharpe, then the Kings are willing to trade the pick and move down in the draft.

The Ringer reported that the Kings could add Malcolm Brogdon to the mix. The Pacers have the #6 pick and could ship Brogdon and the sixth pick to the Kings for the #4 pick and a throw-in player to even the trade. Brogdon is also rumored to get traded to the New York Knicks if they cannot figure out how to cajole the Utah Jazz into trading Donovan Mitchell.

The Kings really love Jerami Grant and could add him to their starting lineup. The small forward looked great in his first season with the Pistons when he averaged 22.9 ppg in 2020-21. But, he played just 54 games two seasons ago, and played in just 47 games this past season due to injuries.

The LA Lakers eyed Grant prior to the trade deadline, but they did not have enough draft capital to make a trade enticing enough for the Pistons. However, the Kings have a fourth pick and couple other throw-in players to complete a trade for Grant. The Pistons already have the fifth pick, so they could draft two top five players to go along with last years #1 pick Cade Cunningham.

Theres also Malathaat. You know her as the Champion 3-Year-Old Filly. Theres Grade 1 winner Clairiere, who missed the board only twice in 12 races, and theres Grade 1 winner Search Results. Theres also Bonny South, who kept Letruska company on the Personal Ensign and Spinster boards last year.

This years Ogden Phipps offers up what publicists call a compact field code for small. But this compact field of five features four Grade 1 winners. It truly is a preview of this falls Breeders Cup Distaff at Keeneland, which is appropriate considering the winner earns a berth in that race courtesy of the Ogden Phipps being part of the Win and Youre In Challenge Series.

One challenger whos definitely coming for Letruska is Malathaat. The last time these two tangled came in last years Breeders Cup Distaff when Letruska finished a woeful 10th after getting sucked into a searing speed duel. Malathaat, meanwhile, finished third.

She rides in off her tune-up victory in the April 22 Grade 3 Doubledogdare at Keeneland. That victory featured a marvelous ride from John Velazquez, who brought the daughter of Curlin back from 5 1/2 lengths back in fifth to score a three-quarter length victory over Bonny South.

Malathaat looms large over her fellow 4-year-olds. She beat Search Results and Clairiere in last years Kentucky Oaks. Then, later that summer, she turned aside Clairiere in last years Grade 1 Alabama at Saratoga.

This is Malathaats second race this year and her first around one turn. Trainer Todd Pletcher, who said Malathaat is carrying her weight really well this year, said that plays a big role in race tactics.

Its a one-turn race, so that will change the dynamics a little bit. Letruska will likely be the pace-setter, so well have to keep an eye on her, he said. Its a deep field with a lot of quality fillies in here. Im looking forward to it.

Two of those quality fillies are Malathaats fellow 4-year-olds, Clairiere and Search Results. Steve Asmussens Clairiere comes in off her strong runner-up finish to Letruska in the Apple Blossom. Before that, she opened her 2022 ledger easily dismissing her rivals in a Fair Grounds allowance optional claimer.

I think shes better than she was last year, Asmussen said about the Curlin filly, who won her Grade 1 the Cotillion at Parx Racing last fall. Shes more mature and is simply a bigger, better, stronger, and faster filly.

Search Results, who won her Grade 1 at last years Acorn at Belmont Park, also comes in off a victory. That was the May 8 Grade 2 Ruffian at Belmont Park, which cleansed the unpleasant taste of her frustrating third as the 3/5 favorite in the Grade 3 Distaff at Aqueduct in April.

That Distaff outing brought Search Results back from an eight-month break. This followed her third in the Grade 1 Test last summer at Saratoga.

This is a really tough race, but shes training really well, trainer Chad Brown said. Unfortunately, she has a habit of not changing her leads, but she has been in her training, so Im hoping she does it in the afternoon on Saturday.
